Great atmosphere – don't forget to make a reservation. Delicious food – fast and friendly servers. Good selection of dishes and good, upscale prices. Highly recommended if you like something a little more upscale and can spare some cash.

The food was absolutely delicious! We were there on August 20th and had the mixed salad and tagliatelle. We'll be back when we're in Potsdam again; it was absolutely fantastic!

Disappointing service!!! How a waiter (an older gentleman with white hair and glasses) could ruin the ambiance is hard to put into words. Arrogant, condescending, and completely unservice-oriented! Every good upbringing teaches us to answer in sentences! Even if a teenager politely asks for "Coke Zero," you don't respond with a rude "Diet Coke." Even when asked if they had carbonara, he disparagingly replied, "We don't have that here." We are paying guests, and when a child asks for what's supposed to be a children's meal, we expect a reasonable and factual answer!! The food was okay to good. The veal liver was very good, the penne was hard, just short of al dente. Our meal was served by an Italian waiter, who saved our stay. Friendly, professional, attentive, and with a smile. Great!!! When we ordered the bill, the gentleman described above turned around and left. Only when the Italian waiter called after him that we wanted to pay did he sit down at our table, annoyed...no words, such a shame for this restaurant!! We won't be back!!

Subject: Disappointing experience at Assaggi – a loyal guest says goodbye Dear Ms. Hellmann, I have visited your restaurant many times over the past few years – about 10 times – and have wholeheartedly recommended it to friends and family. Unfortunately, my visit this Saturday at 4:30 p.m. was so disappointing that I feel compelled to reconsider my attitude. As usual, I spontaneously asked for a table for two to have a snack – pizza or antipasti. The manager, as always, made a friendly effort to accommodate us. However, one of the employees reacted extremely rudely and arrogantly. At first, he said he couldn't give us a table inside because he still had to "rearrange" many tables. I responded kindly and explained that we really only wanted to stay briefly and have a quick bite. However, his response was completely inappropriate: He laughed at the word "pizza" and said in a condescending tone, "They only serve good food here." That alone would have been enough to make us feel out of place. But the way he looked at us and his entire demeanor made us realize that we clearly didn't fit the "right" clientele. When I mentioned that I'd eaten at your restaurant more than 10 times, I was dismissed with a mocking, "That can't be right." Such statements and behavior are disrespectful—especially toward a loyal guest. For me personally, it's not just the food (which is undoubtedly very good) that counts, but above all the service and attitude toward the guests. And this experience has deeply disappointed me. You've not only lost two guests today, but also someone who has recommended your restaurant for years. I won't do that again after this encounter. Ciao Assaggi!

A real gem in Potsdam – excellent food & great service! We have been to Assaggi several times now and are thrilled every time! Everything is just right here: the food, the service and the atmosphere. The open kitchen is an absolute highlight - you can watch how the dishes are prepared freshly and with a lot of love. The quality of the food is consistently excellent. The calamari, the small steak and the lamb fillet in particular are always cooked to perfection and incredibly tasty. Our little dog is not forgotten here either, his food is always fresh and prepared with care, which we really appreciate. The entire team is always friendly, attentive and ensures that you feel completely comfortable. We feel very welcome here as guests and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere every time. There is also a great selection of drinks that perfectly round off the culinary experience. Completely overpriced, small portions and food ok at best. Had Saltimbocca, which itself was ok. There were also 3 tiny potatoes and pure natural vegetables. Very manageable. The other meals in our group didn't fill many people up either and were rather average in terms of cuisine. The service was nice, but rather cold. Only the location and ambience are good. The prices are simply outrageous for what is on offer, but eating out in Potsdam is generally very expensive.

After the Christmas market in Potsdam, the four of us were lucky enough to get a table unannounced. The welcome was very warm and left us wanting more. Small but nice restaurant! We each had a starter that was very well received by everyone, along with a wine that went very well with the meal! The highlight was the main course, which was not only well presented but also very well prepared and enjoyed by everyone. The service was always attentive, witty and fun at work! All in all, really recommended👌

Entsprach nicht den Erfahrungen der letzten Jahre und bei weitem nicht den Rezensionen. Service noch sehr freundlich und schnell, Speisen in Qualität und Quantität deutlich schlechter geworden. Linguine mit schwarzem Trüffel und Parmesan. Kam ohne Parmesan und schwammen dagegen in nicht definierbarem Öl/ Butterfett. Letzteres schmeckte eindeutig nicht nach dem bekannten und geschätzten Parmesansud. Der Trüffel war so dünn gehobelt, dass man durchgucken konnte. Das ganze keine 25€ wert. Wir hatten den ganzen Abend ein unangenehmes Völlegefühl vom Fett trotz Digistif. Wir haben lediglich ein Viertel gegessen und sind nicht einmal gefragt worden, warum wir es zurückgehen lassen. Der abschließende Cappucino wurde nur lauwarm serviert. Fürs Trinkgeld gab es kein Dankeschön. Schade, wir waren wochentags da und hatten nicht den Eindruck, dass das Personal überlastet war.

Today I ate “Tagliatelle with fillet tips”. The so-called fillet tips tasted and looked like cheap, pre-seasoned, pickled barbecue pork. The sauce was unremarkable. Conclusion: years ago good cuisine, now turned into a tourist rip-off. The staff is mixed friendly/attentive, depends on the waiter, on the whole the service is okay to good.

The restaurant is located in the same block as the Brandenburger Tor in Potsdam. It was very nice sitting in the outdoor seating area of the restaurant and enjoying a nice meal in a sunny weather. Enjoyed the daily special menu of the beef pasta with mushrooms and risotto with peas and veggie. The portion here is quite big, certainly very filling after the meal.

My husband and I are regulars at Assaggi and can only recommend it. It is one of the best Italian restaurants in Potsdam. The pasta is excellent, and the ambience, service and staff are top! We always look forward to enjoying a little culinary trip to Italy with you.

Unfortunately, we let the good reviews deceive us into visiting Assagi. The waitresses clearly show a tourist that they are not a regular guest. There is a clear two-tier division in the treatment of guests. The antipasti plate is quite okay, the pasta dishes are hardly seasoned and everything is served a bit carelessly. A request for additional bread to accompany the vitello tonnato was ignored. You should think carefully about whether you should sit down on the noisy Luisenplatz at a restaurant that, in our opinion, is far too well-rated or whether you would rather sit down on a quiet side street at one of the really good Italian restaurants.

The antipasti plate was very tasty, but the pasta dish was disappointing. When I asked whether it was tasty (a purely rhetorical question from the waiter), I answered honestly that the pasta tasted quite bland. "There has never been such criticism before, otherwise I would probably use too much salt," was the waiter's answer. A pretty outrageous answer, because to mine I can rely on my taste buds. But in the end he didn't care because the reviews on the Internet tell a different story. In any case, me and my family will not recommend this restaurant.

Delicious food, good wines at fair prices

After a warm welcome my son and I enjoyed delicious pasta dishes (as good as our recent trip to Sicily) and luckily had room for tirimasu (very light) and amaretti parfait (stunning). Clean plates all round! Ps the place was packed. Always a good sign of good food and good service.
