Ristorante Lodovico in Potsdam

How much we were looking forward to this evening. The shiny gold writing on the shop windows promised something special, and the ambience with its modern, cozy interior immediately invited us to linger. The staff were friendly and clearly tried to create a pleasant atmosphere. But unfortunately our anticipation ended with the first plate and the associated bites. The quality of the food was disproportionate to the high prices. To start we chose a burrata on beef tartare with shaved truffle. This starter was charged €28 – a hefty price for quite disappointing quality. The tartare was reminiscent of a coarse meat salad, the burrata didn't seem tender or supple when cut and the planed truffle shavings tasted bland and not very much like truffles. The calamari fritti with lemon garlic mayo and potato chips for €19 were equally sobering. Without any attention to presentation, the fried food was simply dumped onto the plate, and the promised taste of lemon and garlic in the mayonnaise was simply missing. For the main course I chose the wild herb salad with corn-fed chicken breast for €15. “Wild herb salad” sounded promising, but in fact it consisted mostly of lamb’s lettuce and radicchio – there was no trace of any other herbs. The corn-fed chicken breast itself was so dry that I was happy to drown it in the balsamic dressing. The wine list was a bright spot: from a bottle for €44 to fine wines for €1,500, there was something for every budget. We chose a Sardinian wine that we all enjoyed. But here, too, the discrepancy with the cuisine was noticeable: the careful wine selection did not match the unappealing dishes. Our impression: At Ludovico they seem to want to appeal to a specific customer base. Maybe one that sees the value in prestige rather than taste - because we can hardly explain the constant number of visitors otherwise. Conclusion: More appearance than reality. At the end of the evening we agreed that we could have cooked the chosen dishes better ourselves. A return is out of the question for me/us. In Potsdam there are definitely restaurants that better meet our demands in terms of quality, presentation and price-performance.

We have the good anniversary evening. It was a very pretty and lovely time. We tried a pasta and risotto. It was delicious!

Excellent service meets very good food. The portions are certainly smaller, but you enjoy it more consciously. The furnishings are modern and rustic at the same time and are an absolute eye-catcher in Potsdam. Update: We were there in October 2024 and are still thrilled. The waiter was super friendly and very relaxed (almost a little too relaxed). The food tasted very good again. You just feel comfortable here, so you can spend many hours here!

High-priced Italian restaurant in the middle of Potsdam. The desserts were outstanding in taste and presentation. The main courses were okay, but not special and therefore a bit overpriced. Wine and non-alcoholic cocktails very good. The service was very friendly, but should have been much more attentive and quicker in this price range. It's still worth a visit. At least once.

At Lodovico in Potsdam nothing works without a reservation. But this way the team can fully take care of the guests present. Here you can still experience service at the highest level in what is otherwise an ever-increasing service desert in Germany. The menu is clear, but offers selected dishes, the wine list is extensive and the ambience is elegant. There is absolutely nothing to complain about here and we are happy to pay a euro or two more for that.

Service is first class. Ambience King Charles level. You like it or not. Food is... wow... carpaccio was very good, pasta with chanterelles tasteless and calamari fritti is more for vegans. See image.

Sehr guter Italiener. Wir hatten das Glück, die Baustelle war erst vor kurzem abgebaut. Somit konnten wir mit neun Personen perfekt draußen essen. Die Karte hatte für jeden das Richtige. Änderungswünsche waren kein Problem. Das Essen kam zeitgleich für alle neun Personen, wurde ohne Fragen der richtigen Person serviert und war ohne Beanstandungen. Der einsetzende Regen und die damit verbundene Verlagerung des Essens in das Restaurant, war für alle kein Problem. Eine klare Empfehlung von allen neuen Personen.

A very nice restaurant furnished with great attention to detail. There is also an impressive wine list and very good Italian cuisine. Our visit on Saturday lunchtime was spontaneous and there were still enough places. The outdoor seating starts right on the main shopping street, so something to see and be seen. As always, the service and ambience is very good. Unfortunately, various dishes no longer correspond to the ambitious price/performance ratio of earlier days (change of staff in the kitchen?).

We were in Potsdam for the weekend and were looking for a good Italian restaurant. LODOVICO was just around the corner and less than a minute away from our accommodation. The service was excellent at the welcome alone. Pleasant conversations, a bit of small talk and not too intrusive. Since we sat outside we didn't notice much of the atmosphere inside, but it looked beautiful. The food was perfect. The starters were perhaps a bit too much, but simply delicious. For the main course we had the lasagna and the carbonara. We've never had such good lasagna! Thank you for this great evening!

We had a lovely date night here. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was very friendly. It's the 2nd time I eat here and love it very much. Only recommended! The meat is perfect and the service is fast! Of course, with such a high-quality restaurant you have to dig a little deeper into your pockets. We paid €110. Now, as you know, I really enjoy eating tiramisu, but this one was a bit dry for me.. To start with there is bread with olive oil and fluffy butter with a lemon aroma. I liked it a lot. I then ordered the veal with tuna sauce - excellent.

Called in for a dinner the same day and got lucky with a spot for three. The service was really nice and attentive. Had 3 pasta dishes and all were really good I personally had the Vongole and was more than happy with both the taste but also the look and portion size. Last but not least, the location is just very chic and beautiful.

My dears. Your lunch menu is very reduced. OK. But the quality has become subpar compared to the food about a year ago. Hardly any seasoning. Pasta overcooked and served half warm.

Immer wieder gerne kommen wir ins Lodovico, wo die Hektik des Alltags sofort verschwindet wenn wir das Lodovico betreten! Wir schätzen nicht nur die beständige sehr gute Küche, sondern auch die tolle persönlichen Zuwendung der Mitarbeiter aus dem Service! Ein Muss und endlich wieder auf der Speisekarte die Burrata auf Tatar vom Rind!

I really love the good food and especially the Italian food in this restaurant but admittedly I don't find any of that. The ambience is nice. I would not recommend any of these dishes to my friends, disappointed because we saved this special evening for our wedding anniversary at Ludovico. It's a shame that none of our expectations were met.

We were really looking forward to this restaurant, but the price/performance ratio wasn't right. Poor service, customer wishes are sometimes questioned. Among other things, the red wine was far too cold, and the second attempt wasn't any better either. The crowning glory: the waitress made me understand that I was wrong! Despite so-called Ambiance, not a recommendation.

Beim Eintreten wird man sofort freundlich von einem Kellner begrüßt und zum geschmackvoll mit weisser Tischdecke und weissen Stoffservietten eingedeckten Tisch geführt. Die Speisekarte ist auf einen großen Papierbogen gedruckt und weisst neben 2 Fisch- und 2 Fleischgerichten auch eine Auswahl an Pizza und Pasta aus. Zu Beginn wird ein Körbchen mit frischem Brot und Kräuterbutter gereicht, dazu bekommt jeder von dem sehr zuvorkommenden Kellner aus einer Flasche auf ein Tellerchen einen *Schluck* Olivenöl gegossen. Mein Mann bestellte sich eine Vorspeise. Da mir das zuviel geworden wäre, verzichtete ich darauf, worauf der Kellner fragte, ob er für mich einen Extrateller und Besteck bringen solle, damit mein Mann und ich uns seine Vorspeise teilen können. Mein Kalbsrückensteak war medium gebraten und butterzart, der Seeteufel meines Mannes mit 3 Garnelen auf Graupen sehr schön angerichtet- und geschmeckt hat er auch sehr gut. Die Preise bewegen sich im oberen Segment, aber die Portionen sind auch recht ordentlich. Sehr gut finde ich, dass Tiere nicht gestattet sind, was auch auf der Homepage vermerkt ist. Ich möchte in gehobenen, teureren Restaurants in Ruhe mein Essen geniessen und nicht durch Tiere, speziell Hunde, gestört werden. Einen kleinen Kritikpunkt habe ich aber: Die runden Zweiertische sind doch recht klein, etwas mehr Platz wäre nicht schlecht, aber das ist für mich kein Kriterium für einen Punktabzug. Fazit: Ausgesprochen freundlicher,zuvorkommender, professioneller Service und sehr gutes Essen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder

It was my first time there and I was greeted very nicely by name. The atmosphere is super cozy and stylish, you have peace and quiet, the music is well chosen and fits the relaxed mood. The food was very tasty (had the truffle pasta), nicely presented and a pleasantly filling amount. Of course you can also eat very expensive food there, but I also find it very appropriate for the ambience and the dishes. The staff is very charming and attentive. All in all a very nice experience and I will definitely come back again!

It was again a pleasure to spend the evening there with friends. From the greeting at the door to the farewell at the door, a very nice feeling of service. Food selection including the monthly recommendations is completely sufficient. The service to the guest and the associated wine service are very important here, which makes the visit here so almost uniquely high-class. I always enjoy coming to Lodovico and can especially recommend it for very personal occasions.

Es war wieder ein Genuss, den Abend dort mit Freunden zu verbringen. Von der Begrüßung an der Tür bis zur Verabschiedung an der Tür ein sehr schönes Servicegefühl. Essenauswahl incl. der Monatsempfehlungen völlig ausreichend. Der Service am Gast und auch damit verbundene Weinservice wird hier sehr groß geschrieben, dass macht den Besuch hier so fast einzigartig hochklassig. Ich komme immer wieder gerne ins Lodovico und kann es besonders für ganz persönliche Anlässe empfehlen.

Service and ambience top! At lunchtime there is only a small menu with dishes that take some getting used to. I would have liked to have pasta, but I'm not a fan of beef cheeks or nuts, so the only option was pizza. Although it was well-crafted, it was too dry for me - in my opinion, tomato sauce belongs on a Tonno pizza! I'm a little disappointed...

Yesterday the three of us spent a lovely evening here. We got what I thought was the best table, in the corner by the window, overlooking the well-stocked wine rack. My father uses a cane, so we were very relieved that he didn't have to climb the stairs to the toilet, but could use the toilet downstairs, which I hadn't seen before. We made a selection of food and drinks and were very satisfied, except for the small thing that two ingredients for a pasta dish were not on the menu, which would have been essential for the selection in retrospect. Now we have come to terms with it. The cheese platter and desserts rounded off the evening. The service was very attentive and the atmosphere was very pleasant. We will come back simply because we saw the pizza at the next table and wanted to try it

First of all, I have to say that my experience was on Sunday Lunchtime. The Open Table Platform made it easy to plan and reschedule with any remarks so the communication and coordination is properly. The restaurant is very beautiful and charming. The service is possible to be adjusted as your wish with good cooperation of the orgnizer. The music and illumination provide enjoyment in peaceful atmosphere, despite the location is at the junction of main Streets.

We were received very unfriendly. We were told there was only one table left. All other tables are reserved. We were in the store from 4:40 p.m. to 6 p.m. and it was still empty. The tuna pizza was just too dry. Therefore only 1 star from me.

Wir hatten für Sonntag um 14.00 gebucht, da wir ein 7jähriges Kind dabei hatten. ( Geburtstag). Leider war es nicht ersichtlich , dass es zwischen 14.00 und 17.00 Uhr lediglich eine Mittagskarte mit Pizza und Pasta gibt. Wir waren sehr enttäuscht, haben aber das Beste daraus gemacht. Pizza und Pasta haben gut geschmeckt. Die Weinpreise sind sehr gehoben, so dass diese teurer waren als das Essen.

My daughter chose this location for her wedding. A beautiful restaurant with perfect ambience and service. The food is fantastic, the staff is super attentive. Thank you for this perfect evening. Today, February 17th, 2024, we had dinner with friends. Everything was great as always. It was just a shame that the Parmesan that was ordered was a bag product and was charged an extra €2. That doesn't do this beautiful restaurant justice and is also a bit petty. That can definitely be better.

Yesterday we were really lucky to spontaneously get 4 seats in this wonderful restaurant. The entire staff is super friendly. The boss is very eloquent and tries to pamper his guests without being intrusive. The ambience is very tasteful, partly decorated with beautiful paintings. The toilet facilities are super clean on the 1st floor, so not necessarily barrier-free. The food is absolutely upscale and truly Italian. We didn't want to leave anymore, we felt so comfortable. We will be back definitely.

If the concept is to make money through drinks in the range of e.g. To generate T. 250 euros per bottle, you can leave out the word “Italian”. Because there was no sign of it. No Italian flair. There are better Italians in Potsdam that do justice to their price-performance ratio.
