Very friendly and attentive staff. Food was excellent. We had the New Year's Eve menu and were very impressed.

The food and drinks were great, fully meeting our expectations, but it took too long overall, especially the children were very hungry and stuck to the bread.

We were at LODOVICO on December 17th. Service: perfect, yet informal; our coats were taken for us; we felt very welcome. Food: The starter was a wonderful carpaccio, never had such good food. The main course was risotto zafferano or pappardelle, so creamy and delicious. Wines: high-quality rosé and primitivo. Coffee and espresso were just right. The decor was classically beautiful, not deliberately trendy. Pleasant atmosphere, not hectic, and friendly waiters. No journey is too far for LODOVICO; it's worth the extra trip. We'd be happy to come back next time we're in Potsdam. THANK YOU.

The location is in the city center, on a pedestrian street. The interior is interesting, full of various paintings on the walls and interesting details. It's spacious and colorful. From the moment you enter, you can count on the friendly waiter and friendly service. The menu offers a wide selection of dishes, all very tasty. My portion wasn't large, though, and I didn't leave hungry. You can decide on the service tip when paying. I recommend it.

Yesterday, during our visit to the Christmas market, we ate at the restaurant with a group of seven. The atmosphere, service, cleanliness, and food selection were all excellent. We felt very comfortable and highly recommend this establishment.

My birthday experience was a complete disappointment. I arrived slightly late, and my guests were already seated. When I entered the restaurant, I stood in the entrance area for several minutes, merely eyed by the staff, who didn't think to speak to me. A little later, I was rather rudely asked to take off my jacket, in a tone as if I were speaking to a three-year-old. When I asked if anyone from the reservation team had arrived, they said yes and went back to their business. They simply scurried past me without acknowledging my presence, even though I clearly needed assistance. Eventually, one of the guests happened to walk by the entrance and saw me. There was absolutely no help from the staff, and their tone was completely unprofessional and unfriendly. The food was okay, but in such an expensive establishment, I expect attentive and friendly service. On top of that, one of the guests had asked the staff for a birthday favor, which was met with derision. No one from the staff did anything at all – no singing, no complimentary dessert, and certainly no congratulations. That's disrespectful and outrageous. I won't be coming back.

1. Thyme sprigs in the meat ragout are not acceptable. 2. The bacon in the carbonara was partially overcooked. 3. The espresso was good, but we would have appreciated a biscuit. 4. The amuse-bouche was good!

A piece of Italy in Potsdam – highly recommended! We went to Lodovico in Potsdam for a business lunch with seven people on October 12, 2025, and were absolutely thrilled. The welcome was warm, the service attentive and professional, without being intrusive. The meal was a true highlight – perfectly balanced in flavor and beautifully presented. Every course was a delight! The atmosphere at Lodovico is both elegant and cozy – perfect for business lunches, but also for a pleasant evening with friends or family. We felt very comfortable and will definitely be back. A huge compliment to the entire team – Lodovico is an absolute recommendation for anyone who appreciates good food and great service. 🍷🇮🇹

For me, this is one of the restaurants in Potsdam where you go if you want to be pampered and spend a few pleasant hours. The ambiance is incredibly beautiful, so you could easily spend four hours here. The food is very good, beautifully presented, and still absolutely reasonable in price. I had one of the best desserts I've ever had here. Last but not least, the service: we were constantly asked if everything was okay, checked for empty glasses, and always had a bit of small talk. We always enjoy coming here!

We've eaten here several times. The food is delicious. The seating is also great, actually. We've always found the place a bit strange, as if they didn't really want to have anything to do with their guests. But today was a total no-go: we arrived without a reservation, and almost no one was sitting in the main area. We asked for a table, and the bosses began a long discussion. Hmm, yes, here, there. We were then assigned a small table next to the kitchen. When I mentioned, after an hour, while paying, that the main area was still pretty empty, the maitre d' started barking at me. Completely inappropriate, I thought. Well, the president of a charity was supposedly sitting above it, and I wonder what he would have said if we'd sat there too... (mind you, there were about 30 free seats). And now a group arrived – just as we were about to leave. Apparently, they don't like guests unless they're the president of something. After this humiliating brush-off, I was done for. Then I prefer Assaggi, where you are served with heart.

There were only two tables of two people on the terrace, and inside there was one table of two and ours, which was five of us, yet it took 30 minutes to get served. The problem with waiting so long is that diners expect even better quality food. We ordered three pizzas and two pasta dishes. The pizza dough needed more air and was overcooked in the center. The pasta Bolognese and gnocchi lacked flavor.

The food was extremely oversalted, and although we immediately complained politely, our complaint was hardly taken seriously. They simply offered to pack the oversalted food – without any further apology or suggestions for a solution. As we left, the waiter informed us that he had "treated" us to two Hugos as compensation – unfortunately, these cocktails were also poorly mixed and not particularly successful. The guests at the neighboring table also expressed clear dissatisfaction with their food – so we weren't alone in our criticism. (The pasta was too greasy and the cheese wasn't particularly good either.) We will definitely not visit this restaurant again and cannot recommend it. There are numerous much better restaurants in the area – both in terms of food and service.

We just wanted a beer, which arrived very quickly. For the second one, we also ordered a salami pizza – very, very tasty. The decor here is very elegant and tasteful, and the staff is very friendly, attentive, and quick. We'd love to come by with a visitor!

The service is not only attentive and prompt, but also personal: regulars are recognized, drink requests noted, and you are greeted with an open, yet always professional tone. Advice and expertise are not just empty phrases here, but a matter of course. Orders are processed promptly, without any rush. Waiting times – if they occur at all – are not perceived as a disadvantage, but as valuable time to relax. A good restaurant is not a drive-thru, but a place for enjoyment and relaxation. The food is of a consistently high standard. In all my visits, there has not been a single outlier – always precise preparation, balanced compositions, and excellent quality ingredients. The ambience also deserves special mention: not a replaceable interior, but a harmonious, well-thought-out spatial concept. Paneled walls in warm wood veneers, polished brass details, subdued lighting – the whole experience conveys a living room feel and invites you to linger. My stays regularly lasted two to four hours – with a book, a good meal, and sometimes a digestif. In summer, the outdoor area also offers the opportunity to enjoy a fine cigar – stylish and unpretentious. I rarely write reviews. But here, the praise is not only justified, but necessary. Lodovico impresses with substance, style, and consistency. Thank you for many wonderful evenings!

Stylish restaurant with traditional but also modern interpretations of dishes. Fast and friendly service. Well attended on Sunday evenings and probably a lot of regulars too. Nevertheless, there was no delay in the service, which was very attentive to all guests. Recommendation: insalata Lodovico and Gamberoni with chia! Very good wine selection and plenty of aperitifs and digestifs. Prices still moderate.

Disappointed the second time. Carbonara tasted like nothing. Food was just watery. No salt, no cheese could be tasted. Discussion with the chef in the dining room. He did everything right and you can't cancel the meal. impudence. Be served fillet instead of medallions. Noticed too late. We had to pay for the fillet. Never experienced it before. Service, cutlery had to be requested. Nobody looked to see if the right dish was available, or if we had any at all, for the next dish. I didn't like discussing the bill on Sunday afternoon. We wanted to save grandpa, over 90, and child the stress. No accommodation. On the first visit the meat was rare instead of medium. Now the restaurant is history for us. Fine dining and service looks different. Potsdam has other really good ones to offer.

Disappointing experience - Rude reception and disrespectful treatment We were at Ristorante LODOVICO for the first time today and were looking forward to a lovely evening. As soon as we entered the restaurant it felt like we were being a nuisance instead of being welcome. Nevertheless, we sat down and wanted to eat in peace. Then the boss came and suddenly became extremely rude because we had our little Chihuahua in a bag. Although we had already sat down and were even shown to the table by himself, we were suddenly asked to get up immediately and leave the restaurant. The whole thing happened in a tone that was simply disrespectful. We regularly eat in various restaurants in Potsdam and are welcome guests everywhere. We have never experienced such unfriendly and condescending treatment! In other restaurants, hospitality is very important. Here, however, one had the feeling of being unwanted. The boss seemed extremely arrogant and condescending, as if he were something better. You can communicate things differently, with kindness and respect, but that doesn't seem to matter here. Fortunately, there are many other Italians in Potsdam who not only impress with good cuisine, but also with genuine hospitality. If you want to enjoy a nice evening with good food in a pleasant atmosphere and value a pleasant restaurant experience, you should avoid this place.

This is our third time here and we always enjoy coming back. As always, the service was top notch! The food, today there was only the Christmas menu, was once again amazing! The saddle of veal is so tender and the dessert is a poem! But this time I have something to note: I didn't like the music selection this time at all. This time the sound was played with electronic/trap Christmas music. The music itself is okay, but for a restaurant with such an atmosphere, some more relaxed music (e.g. jazz) would have been better. I found the chosen music almost a bit disturbing. But all in all, it was a very nice visit and we will definitely come back at some point!

On the recommendation of a friend, I took my husband here for his birthday. They made us feel very special, but I have a feeling that they do that for every guest. The establishment is gorgeous. It looks like a salon in an opulent villa. It was a Saturday night so the restaurant was lively and full when we got there. The food was amazing! The service was on another level; the entire team went beyond efficiency and made us feel truly welcome. I had called ahead a couple weeks in advance to ask the chef to prepare a special dessert for the occasion. Our waiter gave me a wink behind my husband’s back when I asked about it and apologized, saying that it wasn’t possible. The look of surprise and delight on my husband’s face when his favorite dessert (tiramisu) was brought out with a candle and a song was priceless! I am adding this restaurant to my short list of favorites and you should too.

Very nice ambience with stylish interior with wood paneling in a modern open style - comfortable seating. The service is absolutely excellent and more than pleasant - you never want to let your Rosé cremant and other aperitifs end. The wine list is very inviting - but requires expert support from the service with the large selection as the wineries mainly come from Italy and not everyone has a knack for them. The food was on point - with bread and truffle butter. The guestrooms are clean, tastefully decorated and refreshing without being intrusive and the quality paper towels are also of quality. All in all - a blessing. I just couldn't understand why the store wasn't completely overcrowded - because compared to the other options in P-Damm, this is probably the best address. The only thing I would like would be a beef tartare as an additional main course.

Good variety of Italian wine! The atmosphere is elegant and the restaurant looks fancy, though the food wasn’t as good as I was expecting.

How much we were looking forward to this evening. The shiny gold writing on the shop windows promised something special, and the ambience with its modern, cozy interior immediately invited us to linger. The staff were friendly and clearly tried to create a pleasant atmosphere. But unfortunately our anticipation ended with the first plate and the associated bites. The quality of the food was disproportionate to the high prices. To start we chose a burrata on beef tartare with shaved truffle. This starter was charged €28 – a hefty price for quite disappointing quality. The tartare was reminiscent of a coarse meat salad, the burrata didn't seem tender or supple when cut and the planed truffle shavings tasted bland and not very much like truffles. The calamari fritti with lemon garlic mayo and potato chips for €19 were equally sobering. Without any attention to presentation, the fried food was simply dumped onto the plate, and the promised taste of lemon and garlic in the mayonnaise was simply missing. For the main course I chose the wild herb salad with corn-fed chicken breast for €15. “Wild herb salad” sounded promising, but in fact it consisted mostly of lamb’s lettuce and radicchio – there was no trace of any other herbs. The corn-fed chicken breast itself was so dry that I was happy to drown it in the balsamic dressing. The wine list was a bright spot: from a bottle for €44 to fine wines for €1,500, there was something for every budget. We chose a Sardinian wine that we all enjoyed. But here, too, the discrepancy with the cuisine was noticeable: the careful wine selection did not match the unappealing dishes. Our impression: At Ludovico they seem to want to appeal to a specific customer base. Maybe one that sees the value in prestige rather than taste - because we can hardly explain the constant number of visitors otherwise. Conclusion: More appearance than reality. At the end of the evening we agreed that we could have cooked the chosen dishes better ourselves. A return is out of the question for me/us. In Potsdam there are definitely restaurants that better meet our demands in terms of quality, presentation and price-performance.

Übersichtliche Karte, Olivenöl zum dippen wird kleinmengig zugeteilt. Weinkarte sehr hochpreisig. Vorspeise, Hauptspeise und Nachspeise sehr gut. Verabschiedung kühl, es gibt Italienische Restaurants , die den Damen in die Jacke helfen und einen schönen Abend wünschen.

The furnishings are modern and rustic at the same time and are an absolute eye-catcher in Potsdam. Update: We were there in October 2024 and are still thrilled. High-priced Italian restaurant in the middle of Potsdam. The desserts were outstanding in taste and presentation. The main courses were okay, but not special and therefore a bit overpriced. Wine and non-alcoholic cocktails very good. The service was very friendly, but should have been much more attentive and quicker in this price range. It's still worth a visit. At least once.

At Lodovico in Potsdam nothing works without a reservation. But this way the team can fully take care of the guests present. Here you can still experience service at the highest level in what is otherwise an ever-increasing service desert in Germany. The menu is clear, but offers selected dishes, the wine list is extensive and the ambience is elegant. There is absolutely nothing to complain about here and we are happy to pay a euro or two more for that.

Wer etwas Stilvolles in Potsdam sucht, wird hier nicht enttäuscht. Exzellenter Service und eine gute Küche lassen jeden Besuch zu einem sehr gelungenen Event werden. Auch nach mehrmaligem Besuch gibt es ausreichend Gründe wiederzukommen.

Sehr guter Italiener. Wir hatten das Glück, die Baustelle war erst vor kurzem abgebaut. Somit konnten wir mit neun Personen perfekt draußen essen. Die Karte hatte für jeden das Richtige. Änderungswünsche waren kein Problem. Das Essen kam zeitgleich für alle neun Personen, wurde ohne Fragen der richtigen Person serviert und war ohne Beanstandungen. Der einsetzende Regen und die damit verbundene Verlagerung des Essens in das Restaurant, war für alle kein Problem. Eine klare Empfehlung von allen neuen Personen.

Our visit on Saturday lunchtime was spontaneous and there were still enough places. The outdoor seating starts right on the main shopping street, so something to see and be seen.
