Asahi running sushi in München

A very popular spot; even with a reservation, we had to wait outside for a table. The staff is friendly and helpful. However, the atmosphere isn't great, even substandard. The food is okay, nothing special either. It could use a bit more variety.

It is really disappointing that we went there around 2pm and around 10/20 mins later, they stopped adding food on running course. Also the variety of food is very little as there is mostly desert and sweet apart. They don’t even add miso soup on. The mainly thing that really disappoint me is that the yeah didn’t tell us that they will stop adding food on course before we sit and eat.

We've been here several times and reserved a table for two today. When we arrived, the waitress told us we only had an hour. The last few times we've been here, there was no time limit at all. We weren't informed of this over the phone, nor was it stated on their website. We left, and then the manager came and tried to negotiate for us to stay for two hours. Anything but guest-friendly; we're not at the market. No longer recommended.

Sadly, something unpleasant happened on our third visit. We'd booked a table for a celebration, but upon arriving at the cafe, we were told we could only stay there for one hour! I've never experienced anything like that before. We got up and left. Once outside, a woman (apparently the manager) tried twice to bring us back for two hours. Very strange. We ended up going to a competitor, where everything is much better.

I was very satisfied with the food. The service was very helpful and friendly. I enjoy coming here with my family, and they're always delighted.

Better than expected! Despite being significantly late, we received a very warm welcome. The running sushi was truly delicious—even though I'm picky! The hot dishes were also delicious. The food was constantly being refilled, and a wide variety of dishes were offered. The prices were really reasonable, and the drinks were downright cheap for Munich. The service was attentive and super friendly. Only the men's restroom wasn't so nice. Otherwise, the ambiance with the colorful tablecloth was quite nice. A truly successful evening for us! Many thanks—also to the hard-working men and women in the kitchen!

They have some different types of sushi compared to other running sushi restaurants. I would say it is affordable for the price, but do not expect a fusion restaurant experience. It could be also better, if the variety of food was a bit wider. In addition, there are not too many tables inside, so it could be a good idea to reserve a table before.

We enjoyed everything, and the selection was good and varied. We were here with our children, and there was something for everyone. It's a bit cramped, but very welcoming, and the prices are absolutely reasonable.

Sushi was good, but not outstanding. The all-you-can-eat menu doesn't have a huge selection, but you can express your preferences. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. For the price, it was worth the visit.

The restaurant is very small and cramped. Nevertheless, the staff tries to accommodate all requests and fill the tables well. The food is okay, but nothing special. A small portion of sushi per plate is a bit excessive. Two pieces is actually normal and would be better. The same goes for the wings and wontons. There was no pure fish (sashimi). There were only three or four different types of nigiri. Unfortunately, there was no baked duck at all, which is a shame. For the price, it was sufficient for a quick lunch.

A well-stocked conveyor belt offered a wide selection, including salmon sashimi, satay skewers, and delicious desserts. Service was a bit slow, but the ambiance was okay. The whole family thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

The place is ok, staff is helpful, atmosphere does not offer anything special. Obviously the main attraction is the running sushi. Unfortunately, the offered food is kind of meh. Low variety, belt running half empty, sushi with salmon appears rarely, most of the rolls are veggie. Almost every sushi roll had some cheese in it, which seems to be a cheap trick how to fill in people. I would recommend for other options if interested in good sushi.

Anyone who says there isn't a large selection is lying, because there is a very large selection, and everything tastes great. The staff is very friendly and the prices are fair.

Three days later... it's still running out of the back. I was okay eating out, but there are much better places to eat.

Old, dirty furniture. The child seat was sticky everywhere and had probably never been cleaned. The plates weren't clean. We were given a plate with small forks and spoons. This plate had lots of stains and wasn't clean. The running sushi selection was very limited. There were two baked dishes, fried noodles and rice, and one piece of chicken in some kind of sauce. Fruit: an orange, nothing else. No dessert. We had to put the empty plates away ourselves. When the waiter finally came, he only took an empty glass and not the stacked plates. We had no room to eat. The restrooms were dirty and old. The atmosphere was dirty and dingy. The stupid, loud pop music was also annoying. Sorry, but not like that! I'd be happy to send you the hygiene inspection report.

A wide variety of dishes are available at Running Sushi, including classic sushi, fried wings and shrimp, vegetables, seaweed, fish and salmon, summer rolls and spring rolls, as well as desserts and fruit.

Very nice place on a main street. All you can eat for a small percentage of money compared to others. Small plates in a corridor with interesting things like sushi, maki, chicken, boiled vegetables and some more although they could be better compared to others I have tried in others, of course their price is much higher. Very good attitude and clean shop I would go again if I had more days

...actually a very inconspicuous and small restaurant. The first impression upon entering is unfortunately reflected in the selection of dishes (running sushi). I was very hungry and really wanted running sushi, so I guess I stayed. The selection of dishes was unspectacular. What I found spectacular was that the place was almost full in a very short time. The service, however, was excellent. I was so thirsty in the heat that I ordered the same drink three or four times. After the third order, the waiter just chuckled, which was almost embarrassing... 😂

The selection of food was very limited. There was mostly only avocado and other vegetables. I rarely saw any kind of fish. I was glad that I even got some salmon at all. I was really disappointed by the fact that there was no tuna at all. Really sad experience. The rice portions of nigiris were also over the top. I have never seen that kind of gigantic rice balls.

I visited the city for a few days and was looking for asian food as I was starving walking around the city. The food was delicious, cheap and I could eat as much as I want. The staff was very helpful. Hope I can come by one day.

We came here because of the good reviews, but unfortunately, we don't really understand them. The price seems relatively reasonable at just under €24 per person for all-you-can-eat, but there were very few sushi options and quite a few other dishes on the conveyor belt. The sushi we ate during our visit also unfortunately all consisted of a lot of rice and very little fish; they were clearly cutting corners here. As a result, it wasn't enjoyable for me, and the price of €24 still wasn't justified in my opinion.

Very tasty and large selection of running sushi. We were there as a group with children and received very friendly service, and we all felt very comfortable. We'd love to come back.

I was just there out of curiosity to see what it was like, and what can I say? It was a great evening! Great food Friendly staff And the price is reasonable compared to others (pay attention to the time of day; there are differences between weekdays and weekends, and also between lunch and dinner!) I can only recommend going there yourself; it's also easily accessible by subway!

I was there with 10 friends. The service was friendly and the sushi was really delicious, served with high-quality rice. You can also order a drink refill, which makes the sushi experience perfect. No need to carefully measure your drink; just enjoy.

Rarely have I had such a bad experience. A table for four people was reserved on the counter especially for a birthday. We arrived on time, but there was still no free table for us, and no chance of one either, as the completely overwhelmed service staff, who spoke no German at all, had already given away several tables right before us. The end result: an extremely disappointed birthday boy who had so desperately wanted running sushi. It must also be said that the hygiene standards there were also very questionable. The food looked very cheap and unappetizing. Definitely not a recommendation!

You should definitely make a reservation because the store will be stormed at 5:30 p.m. sharp! There are two bands: hot food at the top and sushi at the bottom. There are even various dishes with beef, chicken and vegetables as well as rice pots. Delicious. Sushi itself is rather limited or a few different types of makis or rolls. Still enough and you'll feel super full. Service very friendly. However, I only found out from other guests that you only have an hour to stay. Ambience, well, a lot of klimbim on top of the band. Plastic flowers and waving cats. This is more modern. All in all, good and recommended

Good value for money! The sushi was quite good for running and the selection was great too. Service was courteous and friendly. Unfortunately, I find the place itself a bit messy and I don't think it looks that clean.

Food was good, there could be more different sushi with fish, but the overall selection was still ok. The staff was friendly, but we were asked to leave after an hour. We had something to drink and when we asked if we could stay at least another 30 minutes, we were told no and we had to leave straight away because there were so many people waiting outside. Unfortunately, neither on the phone when making the reservation nor on site when entering the Loka was it mentioned that we were only allowed to stay for 1 hour. In my opinion, that's not okay and I wouldn't have gone to this restaurant for that short amount of time.

I dont get all the hate in the reviews, we got there, no reservations so we waited outside 10min til it freed up and they even brought us water while we waited. The food was amazing we ate for an hour and a half straight non stop and for that price(yes even on sunday evening which is the most expensive time) it was totally worth it and amazing. People in the reviews really entitled thinking theyre going to a 3 michelin star place with their reviews. Thank you asahi for the nice experience.

😡 I rarely write such negative reviews, but the audacity of them accusing me of defamation and force Google to take down my post (TWICE!!!), is just shameless. I went to the restaurant alone once, and they told me to move tables TWICE, and unapologetically, is just not guest-friendly. Regardless of how long it has been since my legitimate negative review that stemmed from a truly negative experience at the restaurant, I will not back down! 😡 either you improve your service and hope that you win more customers, or get out of the business!

In my opinion, the best sushi restaurant in Munich! The sushi rolls are incredibly delicious and made with love. The service is simply top-notch, super friendly and accommodating, yet still quick. And the ambiance, with its beautiful decor and aquarium, is very cozy and inviting. Keep it up, we are and will remain loyal customers :)

They are deleting bad reviews. This place should be rated 3.0 overall at best. Stay away. Food not fresh. Doesn’t taste at all. The amount of options to chose from is ridiculously small. For the price - totally not worth it. JFYI, if you guys try to delete my review again, I will use my legal insurance to sue you. Stop trying to seem better than you are. I live in a free country and can express my honest opinion whether you like it or not.

Absolutely underground... After 45 minutes of eating, there was the first attempt to throw it out...it was busy and it was the weekend...if you didn't accept this, the bill would be put on the table a short time later without a word... One star is definitely too many...how this store can survive with such miserable service is absolutely inexplicable to me. Once and DEFINITELY never again...

Staff friendly and tried to find a place for everyone. Prices for both the all you can eat running sushi and drinks are very fair. There is a wide variety of warm dishes, sushi, summer rolls and also dessert at running sushi. These dishes are fresh but unfortunately only with a somewhat limited selection. Unfortunately, you notice that you are saving a little on more expensive food due to the very low price. Unfortunately, after a stay of over an hour, only a few nigiri appeared and only with salmon. Unfortunately, there was also a period of at least 10 minutes in between where there wasn't a single sushi with fish on the conveyor belt; at times there was only vegetarian sushi or other dishes. Unfortunately, it's a bit of a shame that fish is saved so much here. I think most guests would certainly be willing to pay a little more for a wider variety of high-quality fish in the evening. The times when there was hardly any sushi to be found on the conveyor belt also meant that many guests stayed seated for a long time to wait until enough suitable food arrived. This means that other guests have to wait longer until they get a seat.

We were there on March 13th, 12pm, small, cozy restaurant. We had RunningSushi, 1 band warm, 1 band chilled. Food was really good, e.g. mini rolls + vietnam. Spring rolls with rice paper, calamari, good selection of sushi, chicken curry, dessert with tokapi pearls, fried bananas, etc. Ribbons filled at all times, warm things were warm, good quality, good selection, tasted very good. Price-performance is also very good.

We went there for dinner for the first time today and it will be the last time. There was very little sushi and then only salmon, avocado and cucumber. The bands were also very empty on a Friday evening and there was little refilling.

Unfortunately, everyone got gastroenteritis. Please pay attention to hygiene! Disgusting!

Large selection, tasty, freshly prepared

The food is very tasty, unfortunately the selection is not that big. Unfortunately, the “restaurant” is too small and it can happen that up to 4 people sit in a “waiting area” on the wall next to a dining table and wait until you have finished eating xD so that you can leave afterwards. The only thing I have to complain about was the shabby condition of the food distribution/belt where the food goes through. This definitely needs to be renewed and what I found strange was that there were a few stacks of puddings placed behind my seat that were still supposed to be served, a little girl was eating there (see picture) and unfortunately I didn't think that was optimal or hygienic. Otherwise, gladly again!

I recently visited this sushi buffet restaurant with a friend on a weekday, assuming we wouldn’t need a reservation. Upon arrival, the waiter asked us to wait, and it took 30-40 minutes to get a table. About 15 minutes into our meal, a staff member came over and asked if we could finish and leave within 10 minutes because customers with reservations were arriving soon. This was extremely frustrating, especially since it’s a buffet and we were paying the full price but were being rushed out. We were about to leave out of sheer frustration when they came back and said they had arranged another table for the reserved customers, so we could stay—without even apologizing. The whole experience felt unprofessional and poorly managed, overshadowing the quality of the food.

Unfortunately, price-performance is not right (anymore). Sushi line and furniture are worn out, food so-so, price over 100€/family.
