Another excellent meal, prepared quickly with consistently friendly and attentive service. The steaks were superb and grilled to perfection. Update: Went here again today for dinner with friends. This time we weren't quite as satisfied as usual. The meat seems to have declined in quality, and the price is a bit higher. But all in all, it's still recommendable.

We've been going to ASADO for a long time. Nice atmosphere, great location, and professional service. Unfortunately, the value for money is sometimes poor, especially with the pata, which are disproportionately expensive for what you get.

Beware of the menu; it's very inaccurate (# Price/Menu per person??!?!?). I was very disappointed 😞 My meal was apparently for two people (which would be far too little for two adults, especially if one of them is a manual laborer; they wouldn't get enough to eat). The food itself was of decent quality 👍 It's just the price: €75 for one plate.

We went there now and again over 10 years ago to try the "all you can eat prawns." Little has changed, and we still really enjoyed it. It's a shame we live so far away now.

We ate there today. We had the asado burger twice, and it really wasn't good. The bun was dry, and the meat tasted and looked like a pre-made product from a frozen food store. The price-performance ratio was not good at all. Despite immediately complaining about the burgers, the waiter didn't respond. For €25 for a burger with cheese and sweet potato fries, I expect significantly higher quality. So, I wouldn't recommend it.

Friendly service, but the food was really bad. The Caesar salad was swimming in cheap sunflower oil instead of a creamy dressing. The paella was also very runny, with hardly any saffron in it, but it had salmon?! The third meal arrived 20 minutes late.

An overpriced restaurant that can't compete with Spanish tapas cuisine in terms of quality. Because this annoys us, it's only giving it two stars. An "appetizer" of olives with bread and aioli costs a whopping 8 (!) euros. A ridiculous margin. The cheeky thing is that the waitress said, "Would you like some bread and olives?" but didn't mention the word "appetizer." In the end, this was on the bill, and we were surprised because most restaurants offer this kind of "appetizer" for free. That's called customer service. But we don't think what's being done at Asado is appropriate. You get the feeling that people are extremely concerned about money here. Of course, this is a restaurant and not a charity, but when you, as a customer, realize that you're paying more for many things than elsewhere, you feel like you're not being treated appropriately. This can't be justified by "inflation." These days, the prices of many food items aren't as high as they were a while ago. It's a shame, because the old building is beautifully situated in the forest in front of a pond.

We celebrated our dream wedding with an outdoor ceremony in the garden of the asado. Initially, we had 100 guests for the dinner, and later in the evening, we had 200 for the party. The preparatory meetings were informative and productive. The planning was fun. The food and the team were simply fantastic on our special day, and we're still so happy that we chose Christoph, his team, and the venue. Highly recommended! Best regards, Alessa and Jan

We ate there yesterday with seven people. The service was excellent. Friendly, prompt, and child-friendly. Unfortunately, I can only give the food two stars. The salmon was overcooked, the potatoes were too soft, the vegetables were partially burnt, and the overall taste was...so-so. In our opinion, the value for money is inadequate. Too expensive. The otherwise beautiful location is unfortunately in need of renovation. The cleanliness leaves much to be desired; everything outside is unkempt.

We were there on a Thursday (paella day) with 10 people and had lovely seats on the covered terrace. A good half of us ate paella, which was available with meat and/or fish, as well as vegan options. We also had three carafes of water, which was excellent. All the dishes were very tasty and high quality, and the portions were plentiful. Friendly and prompt service and subtle background music rounded off the extremely positive impression. It's just a shame there's no public transportation here.

Very nice place with very tasty tapas!

We went to Asado on a Thursday, where they serve incredibly delicious, homemade paella. For starters, we had the homemade aioli with crispy baguette and delicious olives. With it, we had sangria with fresh fruit. All in all, it was truly delicious, generous portions, and excellent value for money. The paella was truly exceptional, wonderfully seasoned, and, as the waiters told us, they cook the rice in homemade broth—you can taste it! The vegetarian version costs €19.99. And they include a carafe of water for two people. Totally fair! And the terrace is beautiful, overlooking the garden. We'll definitely be back with other friends to try the paella again 🤗

Tapas are quite expensive and unfortunately average. Prawns are good. Service is attentive.

Das Asado ist viel zu gut, um einfach vorbei zu fahren. Es liegt etwas abseits, aber der Besuch lohnt unbedingt. Eine tolle Küche, die für jeden Geschmack etwas bietet, ein Service, der wirklich klasse, unkompliziert und zuvorkommend ist. Und insgesamt eine tolle Atmosphäre mit Veranda und Aussicht ins Grüne. So kannten wir das Asado Restaurant bereits. Zuletzt hatte ich für eine besondere Feier mit 90 Leuten den angeschlossenen Saal gemietet mit "Rundrumsorglospaket" und meine Erwartungen wurden in Sachen Organisation, Servicequalität und Freundlichkeit nochmal übertroffen. Das Essen kam direkt aus der Küche und das schmeckt man einfach. So frisch wie ich es bisher von keinem Caterer kenne. So viel Lob meiner Gäste gehört hier auch einfach mal weitergegeben. Eine unbedingte Empfehlung fürs Abendessen im kleinen Kreis oder für Feiern aller Art!

A request for the wait staff: Perhaps a quick wipe down of the outdoor guest's table before seating them and (again) clear any debris from the table. Regarding the ambiance: At some outdoor seating areas, the diesel train that regularly passes by can cause a brief interruption in conversation.

I've been celebrating parties here for over 26 years. Asado, weddings, baptisms, communions, and yesterday an 80th birthday. They've always been high-quality festivities. A wedding was celebrated at the same time yesterday. At no point did we feel like there was any stress. Great food, super-professional service. Everything was perfect. The day was a very special one for my mother. Thank you very much.

Caution! Drinks currently have a €1 surcharge. When we pointed out that the bill showed a different price than the menu, the response was: "The boss raised the prices, but hasn't changed the menu yet!" It seemed like this was perfectly normal.

The food wasn't cheap, but it was good. The service: One lady was distracted, and the young lady was very unfriendly. I cleaned the chair before sitting down. We were sitting by the window. The frame and windowsill also need cleaning. You shouldn't go over them with your hands. All in all, you expect more for this price range.

The price/performance ratio is not right here and the service staff could also be friendlier to their guests. It's a shame, an otherwise nice location. There will be no follow-up visit from us.

Wer wie wir oft in Spanien is(s)t, weiß, wie Tapas schmecken und zubereitet werden. Wir waren sehr gespannt, nach einem Tipp von Freunden, leider wurden wir hart enttäuscht. Die Qualität der tapas war unterirdisch und schmeckte nur nach der komischen Gewürzmischung, die sich auf/in allen tapas in Massen fand, es war teilweise trocken und die Qualität u.a. der Meeresfrüchte war nicht gut und die Tortilla espanol war auch völlig am Thema vorbei. Was uns leider auch gestört hat: die Kellnerinnen waren zwar alle sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, aber es war immer jemand anderes an unserem Tisch, der nicht wusste, dass die andere Kellnerin schon da war. Am besten teilt man sich auf und hat seine festen Tische und nicht jeder macht alles. Wir als Gäste haben das als störend empfunden. Wir haben lange auf alles warten müssen, was bei tapas ja eher nicht üblich ist. Tapas kommen nach und nach und nicht alle zusammen an den Tisch. Wir würden das Restaurant, was die Tapas angeht, nicht weiterempfehlen. Da wir nur Tapas gegessen haben, können wir auch nur das bewerten.

Very tasty food and, above all, finally such large portions that you will definitely not be hungry for more afterwards! Even the salad plate had more than my wife could eat - and she usually eats up... ;-) All in all, a highly recommended restaurant in a prime location with a garden to lie down and swing in!

We went there for Brunch, cost 49 euros per person which I think is a big high, but food was ok and service was good.

An absolute further development

It was supposed to be a Spanish evening with Spanish music. I really liked the music. Unfortunately that evening the menu was very slimmed down and very overpriced. For a cost of 140 euros (2 people) I expected more. I wouldn't go to this restaurant again.

Well...we found the food compared to other Spaniards...especially compared to the Restaurant Manuela in Cologne, firstly too expensive and secondly the taste wasn't what we had imagined. There was also the drawback that they didn't really explain to us as guests that, despite the music event, we could have ordered from the normal memory card. The price for 5 small to medium-sized shrimp ala aglio olio for 15 euros is simply too much. The location itself is beautifully designed in the forest.

The service was nice, although inattentive. The food also came at the same time for our larger group. Sometimes you had to wait a long time for drinks and they were simply left at the table. You don't grab filled glasses from above and you don't reach over the plates of eating guests. The food itself was okay. I've eaten better and worse.

We were there as a couple and really loved it. The operator has put together a great and very friendly team and consistently offers delicious food and drinks. We will definitely come back soon. In my opinion, this is definitely the best Spaniard in the larger area and also offers a very good price/performance ratio.

We were in the large hall, which was poorly heated and therefore very cold. Had to sit inside in a hat and sweater. Prices are very high, especially for steaks, chicken breast + salmon!! but taste good. Burger not so special + frozen bulette. The service lady kept forgetting things in between. Otherwise often there and attentive/caring.

A super cozy restaurant, very nice service, great food. There is nothing better whether in winter or summer. I couldn't imagine anything better, it will definitely be my favorite place when I'm in the region. Will definitely come again. A very big PRAISE, I can only recommend this restaurant.

Wir sind früher gerne dort gewesen, hatten aber schon vor einem Jahr einen Schlussstrich gezogen. Jetzt haben wir Asado nochmal eine Chance gegeben, waren aber wieder enttäuscht. Der Burger ist o.k., aber die Tapas gehen geschmacklich und qualitativ gar nicht. Und für Vegetarier gibt es praktisch kein Angebot.

It's been a long time since we've been back to Asado and unfortunately we were disappointed. Not that it was outstandingly good before, but it was solid food and good service. If you're expecting truly Spanish cuisine, you're in the wrong place here anyway! On this visit, the steak we ordered was rare, but the fish and chicken were not. In addition, none of the dishes came at the same time and after the first round of drinks you could have died of thirst at the table. And it has become expensive. We stayed away from the tapas at €37 for 5 pieces because the portions are really very small and we are not somewhere in a trendy in-district, but on the outskirts of town in the forest without any transport connections. At least for us it was the last visit. After all, good Spanish restaurants are a dime a dozen in Cologne and the surrounding area - without having to be constantly annoyed. Short note on the reviews: We weren't the only ones that evening where a lot of things went wrong, so the many positive reviews are hard to understand... Conclusion: Service is often very slow and often while smoking, careless food presentation, lack of sauce in many dishes, so that everything is very dry, apart from the salad dripping with sauce in the glass. This needs to get better and the menu needs to be more authentic.

Dance into May: Service is zero. Assistants incompetent or not properly assigned. The rest just rotated around and tried to tame the chaos, even with only 50% capacity. Patio heaters on the terrace are mostly out of operation. Chef was un-present and could only be found on the dance floor. Don't know if we'll come back here again, for this or similar events. The good location can't get out of everything. I hope something changes in attitude and motivation soon.

A great restaurant and great service. We were able to celebrate a wedding there and it went really well. Clean toilets whether for men or women. Children were just as welcome as adults. A successful day from start to finish and a great restaurant in the middle of the forest. When you go there you don't expect it and you are surprised by what you find. We were thrilled. We held our wedding reception at Asado on August 16, 2024. Everything was perfect! Service, food, location. The guests and we were thrilled with everything. Thanks to the Asado team for helping to create the most beautiful day of our lives. So if you are looking for a wedding location in Cologne and the surrounding area, you definitely have to put Asado on your shortlist. In any case, we can recommend the Asado without reservation and to our complete satisfaction!

The tapas were too expensive and far too greasy: 5 shrimps in a lot of oil Chorizo ​​well fried, but swimming in fat. A beef skewer for €12.50 Main course: Pasta with salmon in cream and white wine sauce: Pasta was partially dried out, salmon was grilled to death and therefore completely dry and the white wine sauce was not there. When we asked, we were told that everything was correct, that the pasta had only been deglazed with white wine, so there was no sauce left. The tastiest were the sweet potato fries with ajoli.

The terrace with a view of the greenery is really great. The service gave the impression that it didn't know its way around and seemed a bit overwhelmed - but overall it was okay. Unfortunately the food was nothing. About the grill plate: The chicken could really only be eaten with liquid, it was so dry. The mini steak was supposed to be medium, unfortunately it came as a shoe sole. The portion size is right. But the price doesn't match the quality at all.

Food okay, but a little more expensive.

The Asado is great: wonderfully located in the forest, nice ambience inside and outside on the terrace, friendly service, delicious food and a large selection of drinks. Even if it is very busy, you will usually receive quick service. The large hall is a dream for weddings and larger celebrations. The Asado can also be easily reached by bike through the Königsforst.

Well, what can I say? It's not bad, it's rather expensive, which doesn't really suit me in relation to the food. It wasn't really well maintained everywhere to describe it. Sometimes sweeping, sometimes doing something nice in the garden, somehow rather careless. The staff is very nice and attentive, you could eat everything we tried, but it wasn't a highlight for me.

The food was great, you definitely have to mention that in advance. Maybe a little too much oil at times, the patata bravas a bit too fried-like, but all in all you can't complain about the taste or price of the platter for two people (+ extra patatas). The terrace was also really nice. What was a bit confusing was the service. If not so messed up that it was a little annoying. Especially because people around us noticed it too. The other service employees were also very friendly, courteous and quick. The ambience is quite nice. When the weather is nice, the beer garden is definitely worth a visit. The Estrella Galicia on tap was delicious. The open wines that we tried tasted good. A starter (chicken in lemon sauce) was very tasty and on the second attempt my steak was quite good. Delicious roasted aromas and tender meat. Mecker: The Gambas al Ajillo were heavily salted. There was no sharpness for that. We also didn't have the impression that the prawns were actually cooked in the clay bowl. It looked more like they had been put in there just to serve. The patatas bravas were quite small pieces and appeared to be deep fried. The aioli turned out to be a fairly thin garlic sauce. Both taste not bad, but are probably convenient. We didn't like the herb butter, but it's a matter of taste. But now to the crucial point: the steaks, which unfortunately didn't turn out well. The first batch had branding but hardly any roasted flavors. In addition, the steak I ordered medium was well done. I hate sending food (especially meat) back, but unfortunately this was completely wrong. The second steak was decent, even if it was medium rare rather than medium as ordered. But for free! The fact that they accepted our criticism and bought us wine was very nice and shows the competence of the service staff, but we would have preferred better prepared food. Maybe the chef was just having a bad day. The location and service deserve to try again, but at the prices quoted here it's too risky for us. What a shame!

Book a table in advance on public holidays

Apart from the beautiful ambience and good food, the service is also worth mentioning in a positive sense. We had a voucher that had expired (and not just a few days ago). This was accepted without any comment. Hats off! This is not a given and is now rather rare. Even a high-priced brunch voucher from the Hyatt in Cologne was no longer accepted after it expired. For that reason alone we won't be here for the last time!

We were there today for Easter brunch. First the positive. A beautiful hall, old wooden floors, nice furnishings. The waitresses were nice and quick. Unfortunately the food wasn't that good, although there was a large selection. But what good is that if a lot of things aren't right? For example, the rabbit leg was in a strange breading or was that supposed to be a sauce? inserted. Little cheese, no juices, jam in plastic, etc. The crowning glory was the Kaiserschmarrn, a solid, tasteless mass. Oh yes, at the end the coffee was tasty.

Das Essen wieder sehr gut, gute Empfehlungen des Personals. Locker, freundlich, professionell! Vielleicht bei den negativen Bewertungen mal auf das Datum schauen oder sich die Profile der User anschauen. Hier kann man wirklich gut hingehen. Das Preisniveau ist nicht gerade niedrig aber die Küche macht einen guten Job! Steak und Grillgemüse perfekt auf den Punkt gegart und genau richtig abgeschmeckt!
