Aposto Bamberg in Bamberg

We've eaten here several times. We stumbled upon the restaurant by chance while out and about in Bamberg. We were so impressed that we now always eat here when we're in Bamberg. The atmosphere is incredibly inviting. A lot of thought and care has gone into the restaurant's decor. The staff and overall service are very attentive and friendly. The menu is extensive and offers something for everyone. While the prices are on the higher end, they are still justified when you consider the overall experience.

The staff were friendly enough, but nothing exceptional. There was no greeting upon entering the restaurant. Unfortunately, some pages were missing from the menu. Overall, however, the food was tasty. We took advantage of happy hour for drinks. The restaurant's ambiance was very pleasant.

We spontaneously went out for dinner with four people – the service wasn't great. The food was good, but the service could have been faster and more attentive.

We were here as a large group after a game in Bamberg. The food was really delicious, and so were the drinks – Aperol, Limoncello, etc. I didn't find the seating very comfortable, and it was quite noisy. Otherwise, it's very well located, right above the underground parking garage. We'll be back! :)

Unfortunately, when outside temperatures are low, some tables can get very cold because the door right next to these tables has to be opened too often for people to go in and out.

The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the cocktails were also very tasty. I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

Great atmosphere and a really cool variety of dishes. Perfect for a quick lunch. They offer everything from classic dishes to unusual pizza combinations. The homemade iced teas are also highly recommended! You can't go wrong with a visit here!

The restaurant looks beautiful, but I’m not satisfied with the service. The staff’s behavior was not satisfactory, the quality of the food is low compared to the price, and some of the employees were not professional.

We were a group of eight people and visited this restaurant on a weekday, not during the weekend. The restaurant was not busy at all. Despite this, our table was moved twice upstairs, and eventually we were given a very uncomfortable table downstairs, in a crowded and unpleasant area even though the upstairs area was completely empty. There was no reservation issue, and even by the end of the night, the restaurant never became full. The service was very poor. The waiter’s attitude was unprofessional and unfriendly, which made the experience even worse. I had Italian guests with me, and unfortunately the pizza quality was far below expectations, especially disappointing for Italian visitors. Overall, the service behavior was inappropriate, the table management made no sense, and the food did not meet the standard we expected. We are very dissatisfied and would not recommend this place based on our experience.

Best bruschetta! Salad absolutely delicious!

The steak was really small and it took at least an hour to arrive. Furthermore, I would need 15 of those steaks to be full, and this small steak cost €15 even though it should only cost €2.

Tasty Pizza (awesome that you can choose 50:50 different toppings on each half!) and an amazing desert: 'half baked cookie with ice cream and hot raspberry' - fully recommend the place!

Good service, nice atmosphere & very delicious food.

Loud and echoey. For those with sensitive ears or who wear a hearing aid, the experience can be unbearable, especially if there's a boisterous group in the room. My wife's pizza was okay, but her spaghetti was soft and sticky, and the seafood was very meager in both quality and quantity.

Unfortunately, it just wasn't that good for the price :( The homemade lemonade was tasty, but it was 60% ice (in December, lol) and quite small for €6 😓💶🚫 The food portion was also quite small. So, for €15 per person, you didn't get full, which should still be possible even in the current economic climate.

We managed to get the last table at short notice. The food was excellent. We had a very nice evening.

We recently visited Aposto in Bamberg and had a mixed impression overall. The food was tasty. Unfortunately, the service was clearly overwhelmed. We had to wait a long time for almost everything: from ordering and asking questions to clearing the table. Our empty plates and bottles sat on the table for ages without anyone checking on them. We had actually planned to order dessert, but decided against it because the wait times had already been so long. It's a shame, because the good food would have been even better with attentive service. I hope the team gets some relief soon – then Aposto would certainly be a really good restaurant in Bamberg.

Far too expensive for the small portions. We had to wait a very long time just to order drinks and get a children's menu, which only offered four different pizzas. The food tasted bland, and the pizza was not only over-seasoned but also had a terrible crust; you had to pull at it to get a slice. Absolutely not recommended!

We had pizza. Very good pizza, thin crust, just like Italian pizza should be. Service was quick. Friendly staff. Nice restaurant. It's winter here, how lovely it must be in summer! Just go and see for yourself. Highly recommended.

We were there for breakfast with our two children. There were five other guests in total. First of all, it was freezing cold, so much so that even the server was wearing a down vest. Then we placed our order. The drinks arrived shortly after, but after waiting for over an hour without seeing anyone, we had to pay the bill and leave. We had another appointment and hadn't expected to wait over an hour for our food on a weekday when it wasn't busy. Part of it was ready, which we packed up and took with us, but the rest of the order wasn't even ready. What a shame... once and probably never again.

Unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. Overall, our visit was somewhat disappointing. The Spezi (a popular German soft drink) was barely carbonated and tasted more like an older Schwip Schwap (another German soft drink). The pizza was okay, but somewhat similar to a good frozen pizza. It also had a lot of oregano on it, which overpowered the flavor. The pasta, on the other hand, was actually quite good and a definite highlight. The service seemed rather inattentive that day. Paying took quite a while, and some of our glasses were left empty without anyone asking us about them. On the plus side, the automatic door opened, making entry very convenient. It's a shame – we had hoped for more, but we hope it was simply an off day.

It looks cozy; we came here spontaneously to satisfy our big hunger. The food is beautifully presented and very tasty.

Cool atmosphere, delicious food and tasty cocktails

The pizza is really good. Some of the specialty pizzas are a bit heavy with some ingredients overpowering the pizza. Would recommend sticking to simple pizzas with three or less toppings. Pasta dishes are OK however not as good as the pizza. Salads are good.

This was our first time here. I've worked in the restaurant industry for years, so I pay close attention to detail. The ambiance is really lovely, and the staff was very friendly, which immediately struck us as a positive. However, we found the value for money somewhat disappointing. The prices are quite high, but the portions are rather small, meaning you'd have to order more quickly. In my opinion, that doesn't quite add up… you get significantly larger portions for less money in other restaurants. Unfortunately, the homemade iced teas also failed to impress us: too many ice cubes (especially unnecessary in winter) and rather watery. The pasta was also disappointing, with little sauce and rather bland flavor. I hope you'll take this criticism as honest feedback. With a few adjustments, you could certainly improve your experience, as the ambiance and service are truly excellent. Perhaps you'll give us a second chance as new customers.

Very fast service... very friendly staff

The Breakfast Club didn’t work out for us. There’s obvious staff shortages with one person waiting the tables, one person in the kitchen and one at the bar who cannot take orders. With the long waiting time and missing ingredients from the menu we had to leave.

We booked a table for 10 people online and received confirmation. Then we arrived and were given two tables for 5 people. We asked if we could put them together, and the answer was, and I quote, "That's not possible." After that, when we tried to sit together, the same man came back and said again that it wasn't possible. Honestly, the customer service is atrocious. Not recommended.

The service was average, the food was a bit different than usual, the drinks were okay, the blueberry lemonade had a mixed berry flavor and about 65% ice cubes, which I don't think is right for the price.

Unfortunately, it was totally disappointing. We were in a large group and the food came relatively quickly and the atmosphere was nice. However, you can still smell the food after you've visited the restaurant. Because I have a gluten allergy, I ordered something with burrata. A short time later, a member of staff said the burrata was sold out and asked if I wanted the salad. Unfortunately, there was no other option, as they didn't have gluten-free pizza or any really good gluten-free alternatives. And I wasn't prepared to pay €25 for chicken with some vegetables. The salad came, but it really was so small; it felt like five forksfuls and I was still very hungry afterwards. All in all, very disappointing. 0.2 wine spritzer cost €5 and by the time I'd poured 0.2, more water than wine. Unfortunately, I won't be coming here again, even though the view upstairs is very nice.

After leaving Klosterbräu disgruntled (see my review there), we decided to try Aposto. Very friendly and flexible service. The pizza was excellent! The pizza dough is really good and not dry. That's a crucial characteristic for a pizza in my opinion. We were very satisfied there! A little tip: if you add a bottle of olive oil and salt and pepper to the table, you'll move up a notch in the rating. Other guests will certainly appreciate it, too. Otherwise, everything was excellent.

Pretty run-down, torn seat cushions, lots of cobwebs, dirty tables, etc. The pizza was okay, but nothing more. Out of 10, it's a 4 at best. The service was so-so, it seems pretty unmotivated. The bottom line: I can eat much better for a similar budget. We won't be coming here again. But

It's always nice here. The food usually arrives promptly. There are always many new offerings, especially those tailored to the season. The view from the roof terrace is particularly beautiful, although unfortunately it's often closed.

The salad was really bad. There were what felt like two drops of dressing on the salad. Unfortunately, there was only one server for the entire outdoor area. There was no way to ask for oil and vinegar to make your own dressing. However, the vegan pasta was delicious.

The location is right in the heart of the city, directly above an underground parking garage and close to the famous sights. The service was good, and the ambiance was pleasant. We sat inside and could barely hold a conversation, as the noise level was reminiscent of a train station concourse. This, of course, also spoiled the dining experience. Speaking of which: The sauce on the pasta was canned, the pizza was freshly made, but the dough was very tough. In conclusion: You'll be full, but if you want delicious food, you should go somewhere else.

We've been here several times, and I have to say it's always a pleasure to eat here. Friendly staff and great food. The ambiance is a slight drawback, as it's very noisy downstairs when the restaurant is full.

Great selection of dishes, everything very tasty, courteous service

We went there for dinner on September 4, 2025. The service was very good 👍 The food, unfortunately, was not! My husband ordered the pizza with pieces of meat, etc. Unfortunately, he couldn't eat it because the meat tasted beyond strange! I had pasta with salmon that tasted of nothing and was swimming in far too much oil! Our son had the Mageritta pizza, which was very dry. I've had better for €50.

A super toddler-friendly restaurant. You can take the elevator right up to the changing room. The "Men's Thing" pizza (calzone-style) with pulled pork is truly delicious. The pizza dough is light and fluffy and moist. A truly excellent pizza dough! We came here by chance, but we'd love to come back.

The menu was sticky, the table wasn't wiped, and we had to fetch our cutlery from the table next to us. The service was inattentive, and we waited a long time. The place was almost empty, and the terrace was busy. Carbonara with cream—that says it all about the cuisine.

We were there on a very hot Friday. We had to wait a bit for drinks, but that's not surprising given the 33 degrees Celsius (91 degrees Fahrenheit). They do their best to ensure everyone gets their refreshments quickly. Thank you for that! ♥ The food was delicious, the waiters were extremely friendly, chatted briefly, and always had a smile on their faces, which I found truly admirable given the weather! The pizza was one of the best I've ever had. I will definitely come back; the trip from Erlangen was definitely worth it!

Three of us wanted to spend a lovely evening at Aposto on a Tuesday. Unfortunately, there weren't any tables available for three people, so we asked the staff if we could add a chair to a table. This request was firmly refused. A short time later, however, we observed chairs and even tables being moved. How could this be possible, we wondered? Why hadn't this been allowed just a few minutes earlier? We were very disappointed!

Delicious food, salmon and Caesar pizza

It's actually very nice here, and the food is really good...when you get it. Last time, we simply weren't served. No, we weren't wearing an invisibility cloak—I think the waitress was just overwhelmed. Anyway, we went over to Henrietta's.

Be careful on "Spritz Day," all Spritz drinks are €5! Most of them, however, cost €8 (regular price). After asking the incredibly annoyed waitress and her boss, we were refunded an inexplicable partial amount... We were also asked to pay and leave an hour before closing time because they were supposedly closing. We'll think twice about going there again!

A disaster. Totally unmotivated staff. They'd rather go and smoke (unfortunately, not for 5 minutes, but for 30 minutes) than serve. After repeated requests, no service staff came to collect the bill. Never again! I hope it's not always this bad, but today, August 15, 2025, it was by far the worst staff I've ever experienced.

We were at Aposto on a hot summer night and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Lots of young people. We had a very friendly server who served us quickly and competently. There's a playground for children so parents can chat in peace. The transport links are ideal, as it's right above the Geyerswörth underground parking garage. Just a stone's throw from the old town.
