Aposto Bamberg in Bamberg

Going great until the waiter spilled a variety of coloured drinks over coats and scarves on a chair because nowhere available to hang them. No offer of cleaning was forthcoming - very much a fend for yourself job.

We had booked the 5-course New Year's Eve menu. Unfortunately the quality of the food was consistently poor. Either no clear taste could be identified or the target was clearly missed. In particular, the steak, instead of being medium rare, was just tough, dry and without any specific taste of its own. The food was also carelessly prepared, just thrown on the plate and out. 69€ was far too expensive, any fast food restaurant would have tasted better! The service was also moderately friendly and she didn't seem to care that we didn't like the food. It's a shame because the restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere. I won't eat here again, I'm very disappointed!😤

The heavily announced New Year's Eve menu was a disaster. Bad service and even at 6 p.m. the women's toilets were completely dirty, no soap and no toilet paper. The tables were not set and there was no festive atmosphere at all. No decorations, not even the menu cards were there. When we asked, we were given a menu card, but it was taken away from us because there were only two left for all the guests. When asked whether a dish from the vegetarian menu could be substituted for the main course, this was answered in the negative. Unfortunately, not a single dish from the 5-course menu impressed me in terms of taste. The dessert had a questionable shape and didn't invite you to enjoy it. The service was slow and unaccommodating.

We were there for the New Year's Eve menu, but unfortunately we were quite disappointed here. On a day like this you would actually expect beautifully set tables - unfortunately none here. We were there at 6 p.m. and there was neither toilet paper nor adequate hygiene standards in the toilets. The smell in the toilets was terrible. Unfortunately, the food didn't convince us either. The taste is simply not good, some of the beans, for example, are inedible. Questionable serving of the dessert. Unfortunately, the service was also very inattentive and left dishes that had been used for a very long time with us. A visit on New Year's Eve is absolutely not recommended.

Service was super friendly. Our two non-alcoholic Hefeweizen cold but without yeast. But not that bad can happen. Otherwise very satisfied as always. Recommend.

Unfortunately, the restaurant has declined significantly. About six months ago the food was significantly better and the service was also more satisfactory. At the beginning we were seated at a shaky table that catapulted as soon as we put down a cell phone. When I politely asked the waiter for another table, we had to wait a full 30 minutes - and without any drinks. When we were finally able to sit down at a new table, another 30 minutes passed before our order was taken. The drinks and food arrived after about half an hour, which initially gave us some hope. But this was quickly disappointed: the food was there, but no cutlery. Since the waiter was no longer in sight, I made my way to the kitchen to organize cutlery or another waiter. But there was no cutlery available there either, so I had to wait for a waiter - another 10 minutes. Of course, in the end our food was cold, and the entire experience was disappointing. Unfortunately, the restaurant is no longer a place people like to go.

Unfortunately we had to wait over an hour for our pizza. This then arrived cold at the place. The pizza itself was quite good. Service is unfortunately understaffed for the number of guests, but was friendly. Location itself very cozy and well furnished, clean.

Aposto has gone through some changes over the years (concept, etc.) and I actually enjoy going there. I just noticed that the menu needs a little more thought. Some food combinations are too exotic or simply colorfully combined (e.g. truffle pasta with mango sauce). It just always seems like you always want to produce/deliver something “new”. Sometimes it would be nicer if you stuck to the classics and paid more attention to the drinks. The mixing ratio is often different... sometimes too sweet... sometimes too little... and even though you have ordered two of the same drinks, one simply tastes different than the other... But the location is still awesome . Beautiful decoration at Christmas time and totally cozy and also a top place in summer with lots of options to sit outside. Service is okay, but sometimes very hectic, so you have to wait a while. But understandable and acceptable at full house. Overall, it just needs a bit of optimization.

Great atmosphere, nice and very warm service on December 22nd. Food great. It was just a bit much for us, but we were able to take it with us without any problems and even received an extra portion of sweets for our son. We will be back and can highly recommend the restaurant 👍👍👍 Oh and we really liked the house lemonade!!! 🥰

A wonderful place! We held our company party here and were thrilled. The food was excellent, the service quick and attentive. The waiters were incredibly friendly and contributed to an overall successful atmosphere. Absolutely recommended!

Despite the extensive staff, they didn't manage to serve us within a few minutes. We have now waited several times for more than half an hour for a server to order and when she finally arrived, it still took forever for the drinks to arrive. When you had enough after a long wait and wanted to go home, you had to wait forever for the service just to order someone who finally came to collect the money. I will never enter this juice shop again and cannot recommend it.

Seit langer Zeit wieder im Aposto in Bamberg gewesen. Viel hat sich nicht geändert - musste es aber auch nicht. Der Gastraum unten ist weiterhin am Samstag Mittag gut gefüllt und der obere Bereich nicht geöffnet. Man sitzt recht zusammengepfercht auf dem genutzten Raum; manchmal sind die Gespräche zwei Tische weiter aber interessant ;) Die Bedienungen waren freundlich und bemüht die Gäste zeitnah zu bedienen, meistens gelang das auch. Essen und Trinken fanden wir gut. Das aktuelle Cocktailangebot mit den Pizzabrötchen definitiv über unseren Erwartungen für den Preis. Der Dessertturm könnte sich zu einem Geheimtipp entwickeln, der war richtig gut!

We were there for breakfast. The Avo Maria bread was good, but there was no vegan version. The bowls were disappointing - there are a lot of ingredients on the menu, but you can't see any of them because they're apparently all in the bowl puree. The topping consisted of 6 slices of banana and a tablespoon of brown coconut chips and a sprig of mint. Lovingly and lavishly decorated topping, as is common in other restaurants - none. The bowl was also rather small, and 9 euros were charged for it. Wouldn't go there for breakfast again. But I always found lunch/dinner delicious.

Really a great overall experience: unique ambience, attentive service, food comes quickly and tastes good.

We only had a little drink. Wasn't a problem. Enjoyed the sun outside and then picked up a little something.

When we made a reservation for 6 people, after the group spontaneously grew, we were informed that the reservation would only include 6 people and that no more people could be served on Tuesdays. The restaurant was half full at this point. There were free chairs at almost all tables and some tables were not even occupied. Feels like a lack of tact in service and insufficient planning.

The light lager tastes wonderful. Pizzas also very good. Service very nice and attentive. Waiting times were a bit long, but that was certainly due to the rush at the weekend.

Delicious food at normal prices. The place is very large and therefore very loud when it is full.

We didn't get a seat at a high table without a reservation on Saturday evening. Everything was fine, but the “Muskelprotz” pizza had to be criticized. This is a pizza calzone with fine salami, mushrooms and ham as well as salad. Unfortunately, in my opinion, there is far too much lettuce in it. It seems as if the pizza is only half topped and the other half is filled with salad. The name “muscle guy” is therefore misleading. In my opinion, “diet pizza” would be more appropriate. Otherwise it tasted good.

Unfortunately, the Aposto is no longer what it once was. First we had to wait half an hour for our initial drinks, then they arrived shortly after 7:00 p.m., so we were no longer able to place a happy hour cocktail order (which we would have planned to do). The waiter was unable to find an accommodating solution. Apparently my shandy was a sour shandy, even though I didn't specifically order it that way. The food is still good, but not as outstanding as it used to be. Too bad.

We used to be very happy here but unfortunately that has diminished. The service staff rush through the restaurant but can hardly keep up during peak times. We waited over 30 minutes for our drinks. Food is good but if you are really hungry you should only order pizza. All other dishes are very clear.

The food was very tasty. Is highly recommended. I had the Pizza Aposto. Will definitely come back.

Unfortunately, I have to admit that the food has deteriorated a lot in terms of taste. It used to be really good, but unfortunately not anymore. The tuna pizza was very soggy, the cheese had no taste. Unfortunately not so good for the price. The service was very good and the ambience too. But I wouldn't go here again for the food, if I did, it would only be for the cocktails, which are still good.

Food was quite good. Service was very hard, everything was full so there were longer waiting times.

My girlfriend and I ate pizza bread and the 'Naughty Nuts' dessert last night and we didn't notice anything at first. A short time later we both felt sick at home, nausea and stomach pains lasted the whole night. I suspect spoiled ingredients in the dessert.

We were there on a Sunday about 3 weeks ago with seven people, including two children aged 3 and 5. There wasn't much going on and the waiters were at their leisure. We had to wait over an hour for our order to even be taken. Over ONE HOUR!!!Just for the order to be taken. It took about 1 hour and 40 minutes until we got our food and that with two small children. After our order was taken, we received our drinks after about 15 minutes, but dirt was floating around in the carafe of water and stuck to the inside of the carafe. When I mentioned this to the lady behind the bar, the carafe was only accepted with an oh, I'll give you a new one. Now about the food, my pizza was just in the oven for too long, there were already black spots on the edge and the dough was more like a cake, so dry. But it wasn't the same with the others, the pizzas were good. I just didn't let them go back because we wanted to go to the museum and were really hungry after almost 2 hours. When I asked the waiter at the end if it was normal to have to wait so long, his answer was "uh, no" NOTHING MORE. He turned around and walked away. I wouldn't go there again, even though the Aposto has so much to offer visually. But if the rest is not right, even the most beautiful ambience is of no use.

09/07/24 Service is just weak. Ordered drinks arrive after 50 minutes even though two different waiters pointed this out. The food is okay, but you expect more for the price and, above all, it should arrive warm at the table. The highlight was that the waiter asked us to move tables and chairs for him. In general you don't feel comfortable, as if you are disturbing and annoying.

Food was lukewarm, but tasted good. What annoyed me was that we had to wait 45 minutes for our drinks (despite being told twice). By then the food had been eaten. A drink was even forgotten. I'm not coming back.

Great service and delicious pizza with burrata. The ambience inside and outside, with lots of seating, makes you want to stay there longer. The only comment I would like to see is one or two Bamberg beers on the menu (e.g. Keesmann Pils, Schlenkerla). We'll be back 😉

Unfortunately, the food is becoming less and less edible and even after legitimate criticism, the service did not offer any compensation (e.g. espresso or similar on the house or taking the dish off the bill). Unfortunately, the homemade iced teas/limos also tasted like too much artificial syrup. But of course the location is still great.

I had received a birthday voucher from Aposto where everyone who came along would get a glass of champagne. I called and asked if we could get something else like iced tea instead of champagne since we don't consume alcohol. After asking around, they said yes, it works. When we arrived the waiter said no, that's not possible, we could get a small glass of juice. I then just said that I had clarified it and they said it was clear and that the iced tea was even cheaper than sparkling wine. Really weird and illogical! The cocktails are a disaster and consist only of ice, an incredible rip-off. I won't be coming back and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who wants to get something for their money. Oh and the ice cream was so bad and tasted so artificial, the one from the supermarket is better and doesn't cost €8.50!!

Hardly recommended. Calzone has little to do with one; it looks more like a folded pizza bread with side dishes. The "calzone" is soaked with liquid from the inside. And 75% filled with salad. The hot dessert was rather lukewarm. You had to wait almost forever for the above-mentioned dishes, and that in an almost empty restaurant. Ambience average at best. I actually have very positive memories of the restaurant, but what I experienced today was rather disappointing.

Always friendly, likeable people. The food is good and the ambience/location, like in most Aposto, is always in top spots. Highly recommended!

Had a voucher for a shot - normally 4cl - got 2cl

We were there today (8/23/24) to eat after the swearing-in. The food itself was really good, but the male waitress was terrible. No kind word, no please, no thank you. The tone was unpleasant, unfriendly and condescending. We felt like we were intruding. Our glasses sat empty on the table for over 20 minutes and it was not deemed necessary to ask. There wasn't a huge crowd either. There were 9 of us and we would have liked to make some more sales. But then we decided to pay and leave. When asked, the waiter came to the table and said "first, get the plates" and left again. Sorry, that's not possible. Despite the good food, the unfriendly waiter ruined the impression of the restaurant.

We went there spontaneously for lunch and were not disappointed by the usual Aposto service/ambience. The food came quickly and the employees were friendly. Very nice location with a view of the interior of Bamberg.

We were there on Sunday around 9 p.m. and had pizza and salad. Everything came quickly, service was friendly. Rather young guests, we felt comfortable.

There is an disrespectful employee (men). I sat for 15 minutes until he came and talking to me not proffssional .... , and after the payment process he told me your card (bank card ) not working , then I pay cash , After that when i return to my home , I discovered that deducted from the bank card 6 times more than the price this . After 2 hours I back to the cofee I talk with thé chef (femme) she returned the money to my electronic wallet and did not apologize for their mistake . Really bad experience 😕..

What happened to the service? Were in the restaurant on August 10th, 2024 around 3 p.m. and had a male waiter who had never heard of friendliness! I have rarely experienced something so outrageous, whether in tone or content! Never again!!!

APOSTO restaurant was fantastic! The food was excellent - we ordered pizza, pasta, and beers, all of which were delicious. Great service and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend!

I only go to the Aposto every few years and am always disappointed. I ordered a burrata on grilled vegetables and received a small burrata with lots of fried onions and very few zuchini cubes. The portion was small and the price was very expensive. The drinks and cocktails are also absolutely overpriced. The service also leaves a lot to be desired - our drinks were empty for almost an hour and no one asked if we wanted to order anything else. The only good thing is the stylish ambience, which is why we get the only star. I can do without everything else in this store.

After a little tour of the city, we wanted to grab a quick drink and a cake. The waiting time here was 35 minutes. For 2 drinks and a cake! A plate of food fell from a neighboring table. It took 20 minutes for this to be realized. The only waiter that evening was overwhelmed but also completely relaxed. According to the motto, I don't care about anything. When paying, I kindly pointed out to him that he might need help. His reaction... Yes... We can't find anyone anyway! Luckily, there were other stores that took better care of their paying customers. Save yourself the visit. In the city center you pay the same but it's quicker and much more polite.

Catastrophe. Went on Sunday with a group of 15 people and 4 kids. Table reserved in advance. No problem. It all took forever. Until the first drinks. Until the food was even ordered. Terribly long wait. However, there was only one waitress there. And they are also unfriendly. Noodles were edible, but cold! It doesn't work at all. Especially because pasta is advertised like that. The pizza was good. The Iced coffee afterwards, broth ready... nothing either. And then you also pay 7 euros for parking. Not again, no thanks.

We reserved the table by phone for 3 p.m. We were there on Sunday, there wasn't much going on at all, we were the only ones sitting inside, there weren't that many guests outside. We waited about 10-15 minutes until we ordered drinks (which is okay) and another 30 minutes until someone came and we could order the food and that wouldn't be so bad, just we should wait until 5pm for whatever reason It wouldn't be a problem if the waiter had taken orders quicker and we got the food quicker. At 4:45 p.m. we finished eating and wanted to order dessert, we were told we could only sit until 5 p.m. The restaurant was still completely empty, I had absolutely no idea what the problem was, there were 6 of us and we ordered generously. I could have understood if we had come spontaneously or the place was full, but we made a reservation by phone and the place was COMPLETELY empty!!! The waiter who served us was quite unfriendly and, although the place was still empty, didn't suggest a solution and I don't think he was even interested in it. So we left frustrated without dessert. The restaurant (inside) still remained empty!!! Pays around 40 euros per person. The food (starter + main course) was ok, drinks were ok. The table was poorly wiped and the chairs were dirty. Unfortunately I only give 2 stars for the strange organizational skills and poor planning and for the cleanliness. I give 4 stars for the food.

Empty glasses are only "cleared away" when you force them on the waiter and half put them on the tablet yourself. 4 beers and all 4 beers were poured and served below the calibration mark. Half of our table had to wait 20 minutes for their drinks because something was wrong with the system At 5:30 p.m. the meatballs were out 🤷🏻‍♂️ Then a salad "vitamin syringe - 14€" was ordered, which you can say that every small salad for 3.90€ from the pizza delivery service has more to offer than this "vitamin syringe" .... And take the spaghetti carbonara off your menu because what you serve has absolutely nothing to do with carbonara, because you wouldn't know that carbonara is served with bacon strips🙃 If we hadn't been invited we wouldn't have eaten there because it's the same drama every time. Overall, thanks for nothing 🤝🏼

Half of a drink was taken away from us when we asked about the condition, they said you had to clarify it yourself with the bar and they said that we were unlucky because we left the drink inside when we went outside to smoke, which is what was supposed to happen the absolute no go in gastro

The service was very unfriendly. I find it pretty annoying when you're not even seated and you're handed the menu and asked what you want to drink - without being able to look at the menu. Vegan pizza was 2 euros more expensive than a normal pizza - without any notice on the menu or in advance from the waiter.

Took ages to get our food. 30% were not served. Two of them needed to repeatedly ask for their order. Waiter promised compensation in form of smaller drinks or shots. They never arrived, even when hewas remembered actively. Food is way too expensive. Very small servings with a lack of tasting or even quality. Everything is massively overpriced. Not a good experience. They want to be something, they don't achive. I could go to Vapiano to get the same quality and just pay half of what is asked here.

A very nice pizzeria in the very center of the city. Encouraging prices, friendly service. Food good. I definitely recommend it.

A very good pizza and good pasta in the heart of Bamberg. It's ideal for a spontaneous meeting with friends who are from outside the area as there is an underground car park underneath. To celebrate, chill out and simply eat well. Highly recommended. Any time !
