An absolutely cool place, with a one-of-a-kind waiter. Drinks were all great, unfortunately the ribs were overcooked and bone dry.

Very friendly and entertaining service. I'd come back anytime.

The tall (bald with a beard) bartender was extremely rude, which unfortunately ruined what could have been a great experience. The restaurant itself looks beautiful, but I decided not to stay because of the poor service. Having traveled and dined around the world, I can confidently say that service quality is just as important as the ambiance. I recommend that management review the service standards to ensure guests receive the level of hospitality that matches the restaurant’s impressive appearance.

A really great place! The colleague who served our table forgot our drinks three times, but otherwise the staff is really friendly and efficient. The food was good. The atmosphere is great, but since it's a non-smoking spa, you have two options: 1. Go home smelling bad, or 2. Sit alone. I'll definitely be back! We're already planning!

Smoking and eating shouldn't really be allowed in the same establishment. I thought we had agreed on some rules. Perhaps there are different ones in Saxony-Anhalt? As long as you're ordering something, the service is friendly.

The waiter served Köstritzer Schwarzbier and called it "maximally pigmented" every time because he thought it was funny. When we came in and asked if we should order at the bar, he bellowed, "In Germany, you order at the table!" And then they even smoked while food was being served (by staff!). Honestly, this place should just be shut down.

No matter what kind of fan you are!!! Everyone is welcome here and has a great time. FCM home games are certainly the best attended, but even during conferences, the atmosphere is great. Hard-working staff with appropriate sayings. Highly recommended!!! Great food if you don't need Michelin-starred cuisine for your football! Come along, order a pitcher, and have fun!

Very disappointing! The opening hours are completely inaccurate – the website says something different, but on site, everything was closed. We drove an hour specifically to spend a nice day, only to find the doors closed. Absolutely not recommended!

Cool pub and atmosphere, super friendly waitress. What's absolutely unacceptable is waiting over an hour for two dishes. When canceling, being told, "You see what's going on here," and no one else has ordered food, is pretty silly. Then stick with a cool pub and skip the food if the kitchen can't handle it. I'd gladly go back for football and beer.

excellent selection of dishes, good value for money

This is a nice pub to watch football, and the service is very friendly. However, the major drawback is that there are no set opening hours, even though the website says it's open until midnight. We ran out of beer at 10:30 p.m. last Monday, and we had to leave the pub at 10:45 p.m. because it wasn't worth the wait. I can understand why the landlord closes early when there's nothing going on, but then again, he shouldn't be surprised if there are no more customers later in the evening. Who wants to meet friends in a pub at 10 p.m. when they don't know if they'll even be able to get a beer at 10:30 p.m.?

Excellent all around! The waiter was very friendly and practical :) I had a large burger and a beer. Both were excellent. The atmosphere was a bit like a sports bar meets an American diner. I really liked it. I'd go back.

We went to the dachshund meeting in Magdeburg. Everything was so amazing on the first evening (food, drinks, atmosphere, service) that we went back the next day! Super kind to animals!

Staff very friendly but the security is terrible...

I would pay close attention to what you have drunk when having several drinks. We had 3 beers too many. When I mentioned it, I was immediately insulted. Instead of talking about it properly like adults and going through it again, she rudely gave me back my 10 Euro tip.

We discovered it by chance as a tourist and were absolutely thrilled. The food and drinks were good. Classic decor; we liked it. Great service, and they're also up for a joke. Small outdoor seating. Fair prices. Smoking is allowed. If we're ever in town again, a visit is a must!

On Friday evening, we spent a relaxing soccer evening at the American Sports Bar – and were thoroughly satisfied. Both the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga matches were broadcast live, and thanks to the large TVs and screens, we had a good view of the action from everywhere. The picture and sound quality were top-notch, and the atmosphere was pleasantly relaxed – exactly what you want for a successful soccer evening. The drink prices, especially for beer, are absolutely fair and reasonable. Even though we didn't try the food this time because we had already eaten there, the menu seemed diverse – from classic bar snacks to typical American dishes. Another plus point: the service. Our server was consistently friendly, attentive, and cheerful – without being intrusive. In conclusion: If you want to watch soccer in a relaxed atmosphere while enjoying a cold drink, the American Sports Bar is the perfect place. We'll definitely try the food on our next visit!

Been there for the Champions League semi-finals. Very cool staff there. Birgers were first class and there was a decent selection of beer 😌. I can only recommend coming back when I'm in the area again 😎☝🏼

We just wanted to watch the FC - we got a Hennes on the table. The waiter asks my wife if she would like to order something - she says a goal for FC - what happens: the winning goal is scored for FC 😂⚽️🐐 And the food and service was great too.

We were here on February 5th, 2025 for our son's birthday dinner. The atmosphere is harmonious and a great sports bar (we were there for the first time) as you can imagine, we had reserved a table in advance. All was well, we arrived on site early and parked in the nearby underground car park. We went in and were greeted with an attractive saying, which was very well received by us. Then we were allowed to choose whether we wanted to sit downstairs (in the smoking area) or upstairs (in the non-smoking area). We clearly chose the NO smoke area because we were traveling with children… It was adjusted quite quickly and we didn't have to wait long until it got light. And then it started, relaxed environment with cool sayings, we had already made a decision Drinks including pitcher came very quickly. And the direct ordering of the dishes afterwards was absolutely unproblematic and easy, without you being denounced, everything was taken with humor (which has become really rare these days) less than 15 minutes later the starter came (Nacho with Cheese & Onion with sourcream) and about 15-20 minutes later the main course came and I have to say one thing, the portions are sufficient and the price is absolutely acceptable. The food was really tasty, the ribs (even though they came from the kitchen instead of the smoker were not mushy and not dry or tough), the meat was high quality, the sauce went well with it and the wings were also worth their price. (I took a double portion of ribs) The fries and the green stuff around them looked good and tasted okay too (I only tried them but didn't finish them because I didn't want to clog my stomach with “NonMeat”). The service was absolutely okay, no constant and penetrating questioning and no “neglect” either. We had what was left packed up to take with us. To pay we then went to the counter towards the exit. Price for the performance and quality is completely okay and within the possible framework. We will come back. Stay like that. Thanks

Very good sports bar with good service and delicious food and beer

Our first visit to this place was very enjoyable, which encouraged us to return. Unfortunately, this time we were deeply disappointed with the service. The waiter who served us seemed to have a negative attitude towards foreigners, which is surprising given that the pub is called AMERICAN Sportsbar The Fan. During our visit, we noticed that the waiter was rude to us – he handed over our orders in a dismissive manner and even threw some of them onto the table. Although we don't speak German, we managed to communicate in English, but his attitude left much to be desired. At the same time, he was extremely polite to other guests, which only added to our discomfort. Additionally, we caught some remarks that he made about us, which were unfriendly and completely unjustified. We suggest that the management pays closer attention to the qualifications and attitudes of their staff. A place that attracts guests from various countries should be more welcoming and ensure a positive experience for everyone. Sadly, after this incident, we are unlikely to return.

Don't go to Magdeburg because of the fan, but if there was no other reason, then just go because of the fan. Even as a non-smoker and non-football fan, I enjoy being here! Food and drink combined with the usual Magdeburg friendliness!

Is a top sports bar. You shouldn't expect restaurant food, but everything just fits together. The waiters are always friendly - the prices are okay. The evenings there have always been fun.

Very comfortable for watching football, eating and/or smoking. Rustic furnishings, delicious food and very friendly service. Easy to reach on foot from the train station.

We went here because of the good reviews, the proximity to the hotel and the upcoming darts final. Great, highly recommended! Delicious food, short waiting times, large selection of beer, very nice, relaxed staff. And very unusual for us from North Rhine-Westphalia, you can smoke in the bar! I, a non-smoker, found it very good! Otherwise I often end up sitting alone at the table! Why am I still deducting a star? Because I wasn't allowed to order what was on the menu. After the meal and various beers, I would have liked to continue with cocktails. You'll be told, "No, I'm definitely not making cocktails now. You can still have beer." I understand that it was very crowded and a cocktail takes time. But you could also have said, "It's very busy at the moment, I'll be happy to do it when I have some time." It also has something to do with sales. If I stop liking beer and then stick to water for the rest of the evening, that's less beneficial than if I drank 2 or 3 cocktails!

The perfect place to meet up with friends, play pool or just have a good meal (the burgers are amazing!) or have a drink (a wide selection of good spirits etc.). It's just a shame there's so little space because on some Fridays the traffic can be very heavy, but no wonder. If you want to invite someone from out of town to have a good time, you should definitely come here.

I ended up in Magdeburg on my way to Berlin. Just wanted to eat a little something and watch the DFB Cup. Ordered the spare ribs and what can I say. They were just perfect. Extremely delicious. Some of the best I've eaten in my 60 years.

Only had 25 minutes until the train came. Incredibly friendly service, super fast, so I almost had too much time to enjoy. Very good burger (including guacamole!!) and fries. Milkshake really creamy.

Pure smoking bar. The non-smoking area is a joke. Completely unsuitable for non-smokers. When it comes to sports broadcasts, the waiters try hard but only manage it with difficulty.

Went there for dinner on a recommendation. At first you think it's a sports bar like any other, also because of the simply printed menu. But the food was really great and much better than many other restaurants of this type. Had the spare ribs with fries, really good and a large portion for a reasonable price. The service was also friendly and prompt. A thoroughly successful evening, thank you very much!

Would recommend the burgers, they are huge and amazing- tbh all the food looked great, and ours tasted lovely. The service is really good- the only thing is, they allow smoking inside, didn't bother us too much but just be aware. We also ordered Diesel, Beer plus Coke, and it was superb!

We were there as a group spontaneously and were able to take advantage of the all-you-can-eat offer without prior notice. The spare ribs were excellent; good seasoning and very tender. The selection of drinks also left nothing to be desired. The service rounded off the visit. Very friendly, quick and attentive. We would love to come back on our next business trip.

There is an employee who is top. Friendly, always with a saying on his lips. He has a great feeling for the customers. Happy to eat and drink something. 37€ left in the store. Three days later Ger-Ned was at the game Met friends. Joined later. I had only been sitting for 10 minutes, the waiter was with me for the first time, but I didn't want to drink anything yet, and I was immediately shouted at; “If I don’t order anything, I can leave the store at halftime. This is a place to warm up.” After sitting for 30 minutes, I was again “kindly” advised to order something, otherwise I would have to leave. Friendly service is different. What and when I order something is of no concern to her! I probably would have had a beer or more, but not like that. You don't deserve more than a coffee from me!

Always worth a visit. They have the best burgers in Saxony-Anhalt and even though I no longer live in Magdeburg, I come back every few months because The Fan is just that good.

We always enjoy coming here. Service is relaxed and great. The food, no matter what, is very tasty. You can also sit here as a non-smoker. Of course you smell of smoke, but it's bearable :-) There is also a non-smoking area. So see you next time

We were there spontaneously today to watch Leverkusen versus Cologne. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the food, we had beer 🍻 and Fanta. The men enjoyed it 😋. .The ribs are said to be very good. We'll try that out soon. The staff is friendly and quick to serve. Smoking in the room is not my thing, even if I smoke myself. But that's completely ok... you can decide for yourself whether you go in or not.

The Fan is THE 1FCM pub in Magdenurg. Many fans watch football here. the atmosphere is always great. There is great food, the burgers are recommended👌. The service is top. If you want to have a good time with a great atmosphere and are interested in sports, this is the perfect place for it.

Super tasty burgers, very friendly owner/service. You don't have to reserve a table 2 weeks in advance! And all of this at really fair and realistic prices. Why can't many others in Magdeburg do this anymore? We will be back definitely !
