AMAN Tandoor & Bar in Frankfurt am Main

The ambience at Aman is beautifully decorated, perfect for a date dinner. We were there for lunch and the thali for €18 was plenty. We've been there a few times. We'd love to come back.

Probably Frankfurt’s most expensive tap water. Per: - The food is really great and anyone who loves Indian food can't miss Aman. - Stylish ambience Con: - Wine bottles are not left at the table (as is usual), refills are always given, unfortunately as a guest you do not have an overview of how many bottles have actually been used. - The good Frankfurt tap water is sold as “Purezza Premium Water”. If you consider that 1 liter of tap water costs 0.19 cents and the “Purezza” in Aman is sold for €6.50 for 0.75 liters, you have a good profit margin for “filtered” water 😂 In every other restaurant that I know that uses Purezza as a filter element, the water is free, and you also consider that the monthly rent has already been paid off after the sale of 33 bottles. But you can find a lot about this “screw” at other restaurants on Google. Maybe you add the subtle note “Finely filtered Frankfurt drinking water” to your menu and, like every other restaurant, leave the wine bottles in the cooler for the guest, which you can also refill from as a waiter. 😉 That would be progress and then there would be 5 stars.

When you enter the AMAN Tandoor & Bar, you are immediately greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere. The stylish furnishings, the gentle colors and the cozy seating invite you to lean back and immerse yourself in the world of Indian cuisine. A place that combines modern chic with traditional charm - you feel comfortable here. In terms of cuisine, the restaurant offers a real taste explosion. The curries are wonderfully creamy, the tandoori dishes come to the table perfectly seasoned, and the naan bread? Fresh, fluffy and exactly how you want it. Anyone who loves the flavors of India will definitely find what they are looking for here. Nevertheless, there are small drops of bitterness: the vegetarian selection could be a little more extensive - especially in an Indian restaurant you can expect a wealth of meatless delicacies. And then perhaps the biggest drawback: no chai! An Indian restaurant without the spicy, aromatic tea? It's a shame, because a perfectly prepared Masala Chai would be the icing on the cake of a successful evening. Another small drawback is the volume. If the restaurant is busy, it can quickly get busy. So if you're looking for a quiet dinner, you might want to come outside of peak times. Despite these little things, the AMAN Tandoor & Bar remains worth recommending. The taste is convincing, the atmosphere is pleasant, and with a few adjustments it could be a real highlight. 4 out of 5 stars – and if chai is added to the menu at some point, maybe even 5!

Very tasty food! The mango curry and the butter chicken are particularly recommended. The vegetarian curries are also great.

The food was good but not authentically Indian. There are far better places to go in Frankfurt. The biggest drawback, however, was that the table was cleared while a few people were still eating at the table. This is an absolute no-go! Please invest in the training of service staff.

Food was tasty but not seasoned well enough. I ordered some more mango chutney to add some flavor, it cost me a whole €2 for a spoonful, it's free at every other Indian place! Prices are high according to the decoration and the portions are small. Value for money therefore a 4/10. The staff was initially attentive, but then made us wait about 40 minutes to pay. The waitress didn't seem happy with the tip because, after we waited forever for the bill, she looked at me for a long time while paying.

The menu offers a very limited selection,The out dated Menu you see online is not the real menu at the place. with extremely small portion sizes that seem more suited for kids. The food is priced exorbitantly, and the overall value for money is highly questionable. Drinks are equally overpriced, making the experience feel unnecessarily extravagant. The chaperone, who doubled as a waitress, was unfriendly and added to the unpleasant atmosphere. For those going with the expectation of enjoying authentic Indian food, it’s simply not worth it. Overall, the experience left much to be desired, especially considering the high cost and lack luster service. Bhaii khaane ke liye achii jagaha nahii hai.

Food is ok, but has hardly any taste. The spice is missing. Unfortunately not authentic cuisine on the whole. But the staff is very nice.

We just found this restaurant last year while just strolling, Loved everything about it. A lot of has changed in service and food. Lot dishes are now with too much colour, taste has gone down in 50% plus dishes. You have keep looking for your server and they try to look busy in 30% capacity

We went to Aman for the first time today. The ambience is very pleasant and, contrary to some reviews here, we had very good service. In particular, the waitress in the black overalls/jumpsuit who was responsible for the front area did an excellent job! The food, on the other hand, was unfortunately relatively tasteless and there was a noticeable lack of spices. The prices are also comparatively high.

Essen ordentlich, Service unterirdisch. Chef war an der Theke am campen mit 6 Servicekräften, Tische wurden ignoriert, aber Personal hatte Spaß.

The food was excellent and the atmosphere was beautiful. However, the service was disastrous. We were in the restaurant for over 3 hours and the waitress didn't even ask if everything was okay or if we would like something more to drink. So we drank a drink the whole time. You didn't feel welcome at all and the waitress seemed totally annoyed. It's a shame because the food was very, very tasty.

The Amman restaurant has a nice ambience and excellent food that actually deserves a 5 star rating. Unfortunately the entire impression is ruined by the catastrophic service. A waitress with short, black hair who often came across as arrogant and condescending had a major negative impact on our experience. Their behavior was unprofessional and left us feeling unwelcome as guests. It's a shame that a restaurant with such great potential is so devalued by service. Good food alone is not enough if you don't feel treated with respect. I hope management takes this point seriously as I cannot recommend a visit under these circumstances.

Das Restaurant war früher eindeutig besser! Die Speisenauswahl ist die kleinste von allen indischen Restaurants, die wir kennen. Oft bürgt die Konzentration auf weniger Speisen für eine bessere Qualität, das konnten wir hier leider nicht feststellen. Die Speisen waren wenig gewürzt, das Gemüse hat den Eindruck gemacht, aus der Tiefkühltruhe entsprungen zu sein.

We felt like we were staying with friends and were pleasantly surprised by the food and the rare, great wines. We definitely didn't expect that. The friendly staff is also very professional and always there quickly when needed. If you're looking for good food and an excellent wine selection, this is the place for you. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Great service and lively atmosphere, but the food could be better.

Food was very bland, no flavours to it. Huge disappointment due to how nice the place was. Got a butter chicken and a chicken tikka masala and it wasn’t good at all. I wouldn’t return back for a second time. Please take this experience on board.

Das Aman ist leider nicht mehr zu empfehlen. Das Essen ist zwar immerhin noch mittelmäßig, der Service hingegen unglaublich schlecht. Einige beeindruckendste Beispiele der Qualität des Servicepersonals: Die Gläser des Aperitifs zierten den Tisch bis zum Abschluss des Geschäftsessens (3-Gänge), weitere Getränke werden nur auf Nachfrage angeboten - allerdings gestaltet es sich als unglaublich mühsam den Blickkontakt der Mitarbeiter zu erhaschen - Eigeninitiative braucht man hier keinesfalls zu erwarten, Naanbrot zur Vorspeise war leider nicht möglich, Besteck der Vorspeise sollten wir für das Hauptgericht behalten, Teller werden entweder (so bei der Vorspeise) bei den Gästen einzeln abgeräumt, sobald sie fertig waren, obgleich der Rest noch aß, oder (so beim Hauptgericht) nach ca 35 Minuten… das Personal ist allerdings keinesfalls überlastet, sondern schlurft antriebslos mit leeren Händen und nach unten gerichtetem Blick durch die Gegend. Wir haben uns mit dem Essen beeilt, weil uns deutlich vermittelt wurde, dass wir um 20:30 den Tisch für die zweite Belegung verlassen müssten. Dies stellte sich als Fehlinformation heraus, die aber auch nicht korrigiert wurde. Wir werden leider nicht mehr wiederkommen.

Empfang und Kellerin waren leider unfreundlich und wirkten, als hätten sie keine Lust auf uns gehabt. Wir wurden kaum beachtet. Anfang d w Jahres waren Wirt schon mal hier essen, wird hatten eine super nette Kellnerin und das Essen war gut, aber nach so einem Service komme ich doch nicht mehr hierher.

Leider nicht empfehlenswert - wir freuten uns auf einen Abend bei indischen Essen, aber bereits die Begrüssung war schon wenig versprechend: „Sie haben ein Tisch um 18.45 reserviert. Antwort: Ja - daraufhin aber bis 20.45 muss der Tisch geräumt sein“ Nun gut wir wollten ja auch nicht bis Mitternacht bleiben. Essen kam erwartungsgemäß sehr schnell, ein Schnellimbiss macht es nicht besser! Vorspeise frittiertes Gemüsekörbchen lauwarm und sicher nicht frisch frittiert sondern aufgewärmt, Hauptspeise kam gleich zügig, aber ebenfalls aufgewärmt und lauwarm! Eine online Bestellung macht es besser. Höhepunkt: Frage der Kellnerin „ seid ihr fertig“ ja wir waren die Oldies im Hotspot der Jugend, aber kann man nicht trotzdem eine höflichere Umgangssprache erwarten? Bei den Preisen erwartet man mehr immerhin Euro 130.- zu zweit für wenig Qualität und dafür, dass man sich abgefertigt fühlte. Das Glück des Betreibers wir kommen nicht wieder und empfehlen auch nicht weiter! Ps habe nichts gegen duzen, aber nur wenn es mit Charme und nicht schludrig rüberkommt.

Leider war das Essen zu salzig und das Cheesenaan viel zu fettig. Getränke waren nicht alle da. Bedienung war leicht apathisch.

Das Essen war durchaus schmackhaft. Einen indischen Tee konnte man allerdings hier leider nicht genießen; es gab nur Minztee mit Ingwer, was doch enttäuschend ist, wenn man sich auf den typischen Masala Chai freut. Der Service hat es nicht besser gemacht. Die Bedienung schien mehr mit sich selbst beschäftigt zu sein, als sich um ihre Gäste zu kümmern. So nett das Essen auch war – beim Service gibt es noch Luft nach oben.

Das Essen ist wirklich sehr gut und auch die Auswahl ist riesig. Leider wurden wir im Laufe des Abends kaum gefragt, ob wir noch etwas zu Trinken oder Essen bestellen wollen.

Der Service war leider nicht sehr aufmerksam, ist eher weggelaufen. Wir mussten nachfragen, ob wir bestellen dürfen, da sonst immer jemand weg gelaufen ist, anstatt die Bestellungen aufzunehmen. Essen war sehr gut.

By far the best restaurant I have visited in Germany. The food was so delicious, the service was nice. The ambiance is too good. The staff was friendly and well mannered. Overall a very nice place to have authentic Indian food. Must visit.

Were there for the first time. Nice restaurant, nice service but unfortunately the food was cold. The air conditioning was running so the food got cold while we ate. The taste was ok, unfortunately the typical Indian spices were missing, everything was a bit too bland. Cold food in particular is not an option. Unfortunately we ate better elsewhere. Then there was this very loud music, we wanted to eat and not go to the disco. There are better places with Indian cuisine in Frankfurt.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed!!!! On Google it was noted that they were open until 14:30.....and at 14:00 they were already closing!!! I asked, they refused!!!!

The food, drinks and location were really very good. The occasion was my sister's birthday. The day before we had brought a cake to the restaurant as a surprise for my sister, which is not a given and we really liked it. However, the surprise was ruined because the waiter asked the birthday child when the cake should be brought out... it was pretty stupid because he knew who brought the cake. The other waitress was really very accommodating and very attentive. The only thing that ruined the evening was the stupidity of the waiter... who didn't say anything and made us believe my sister didn't know anything about the surprise.

I recently made a reservation for a birthday celebration at this restaurant, and while they asked about the occasion during the booking, it didn't seem to make any difference to the experience, which was a bit disappointing. The food overall was okay, but I feel they could expand their selection of vegetarian starters, as the current options were a bit limited. That said, the Dal Makhani and Paneer Tikka Butter Masala we tried were good and enjoyable. The drinks, however, were the highlight of the evening—super nice and well-crafted. Unfortunately, the service didn't quite match up to the food and drinks. It felt a bit cold and lacked the warmth and attentiveness you'd hope for during a special occasion.

Visiting for lunch on a Friday was disappointing and not at all what we expected after a dinner a few weeks ago. The guests were seated in an inner courtyard that was probably dirty from the previous evening. The waiter tried hard, but had little idea about the composition of the food. If lamb is promised, then this should also be found in the dish. It only partially helps if the starter is taken back without hesitation to limit the damage. The main courses we ordered were under the “Quick Lunch” category. Standard food that any Indian restaurant can provide. That cannot be the claim of the AMAN Tandoor. Far away from the splendor of the evening. Maybe the waiter should learn the menu rather than surf the internet! It's a shame that the common thread isn't present throughout.

The food and drinks are pricey, but not that good enough.

Leider eine enttäuschende Erfahrung. Wir reservierten einen Tisch für einen Geburtstag. Der Kellner war sehr nett un aufmerksam. Wir bekamen drei gemischte Vorspeisen Teller (siehe Foto) die wir vorher schon bestellen mussten, da wir eine Gruppe von 10 Personen waren. Dafür wollten die 15€ pro Person. Das heißt, dass jede Platte 45€ gekostet hat?!? Da haben wir deutlich mehr erwartet. Dann entdeckten wir eine verschimmelte Stelle an einem paniertem Käse Stück (siehe Foto) und teilten es dem Kellner leise und unauffällig mit. Er wies es sofort ab, nahm das Stück aber mit. Als er zurück kam, versuchte er uns zu erklären, dass das normal sei. Als wir sagten, dass der Käse graue Stellen hatte und Schimmel typische Härchen meinte er, dass Kichererbsenmehl grau sei. Wir alle wissen, dass Kichererbsenmehl nicht grau ist. Es war zu 100% Schimmel und er wollte uns für blöd verkaufen. Schade, dass man es nicht einfach zugeben und sich entschuldigen kann. Ab dem Zeitpunkt war der Kellner auch nicht mehr wirklich nett zu uns. Die Hauptspeisen waren lecker, das Garlic Naan hat nach nichts geschmeckt. Der Wein und die Drinks waren gut. Als wir gegangen sind kam vom Kellner nur ein trockenes Ciao, obwohl wir uns respektvoll verhalten haben. Sehr schade. Hätten sie sich entschuldigt, wäre die Erfahrung ganz anders gewesen.

Unfortunately a disappointing experience. We reserved a table for a birthday. The waiter was very nice and attentive. We were given three mixed starter plates (see photo) which we had to order in advance because we were a group of 10 people. They wanted €15 per person for this. That means each record cost €45?!? We expected much more. Then we discovered a moldy spot on a piece of breaded cheese (see photo) and told the waiter quietly and unobtrusively. He immediately rejected it, but took the piece with him. When he came back he tried to explain to us that this was normal. When we said that the cheese had gray spots and typical mold He said that chickpea flour was gray. We all know that chickpea flour is not gray. It was 100% mold and he was trying to make us look stupid. It's a shame you can't just admit it and apologize. From that point on the waiter wasn't really nice to us anymore. The main courses were delicious, the Garlic Naan didn't taste like anything. The wine and drinks were good. When we left, the waiter only gave us a dry ciao, even though we behaved respectfully. Very unfortunate. If they had apologized the experience would have been very different.

A very nice place with a garden where you can eat really tasty food. A large selection of dishes that are beautifully presented and taste delicious. I will gladly come back to try other items on the menu. The service was very nice.

We had the pleasure of visiting AMAN Tandoor and Bar once again and loved it from start to finish. The selection of vegetarian and vegan options is also impressive and shows the flexibility and creativity of the kitchen. All in all, we can highly recommend the AMAN Tandoor and Bar. It is the ideal place to enjoy authentic Indian cuisine in a cozy and welcoming environment. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Das Ambiente des Restaurants ist warm und einladend, und die Location trägt zu einer wunderbaren Atmosphäre bei. Das Personal ist außerordentlich freundlich und zuvorkommend, was den Besuch zu einem wahren Genuss macht. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich die Vielfalt und Qualität der Speisen. Jeder Bissen war ein Geschmackserlebnis, das die reiche Vielfalt der indischen Küche perfekt widerspiegelte. Die Gerichte sind ein absolutes Highlight – perfekt gewürzt und auf den Punkt gegart. Auch die Auswahl an vegetarischen und veganen Optionen ist beeindruckend und zeigt die Flexibilität und Kreativität der Küche. Alles in allem können wir das AMAN Tandoor und Bar nur wärmstens empfehlen. Es ist der ideale Ort, um authentische indische Küche in einer gemütlichen und einladenden Umgebung zu genießen. Food: the food can't really be described as Indian food. Currys and daals tasteless, but beautifully pimped with excessive red color. The only good thing was the tacos. Ambience great. Service: the waiter was friendly. The blonde lady at reception was obviously in the wrong job… no hello or goodbye, apparently in a bad mood. just commented that we had to leave again in 2 hours (which we weren't told on the phone when we made the reservation). After 2 hours the store was still half empty... Not worth a second visit for us. But above all because of the food...

In my opinion it is not an authentic Indian restaurant, they try to mix Indian and international cuisine. If you know that, it's absolutely okay. The service was always very friendly, attentive and had a nice saying to say. The price is a bit high, but also okay. I find the interior design very appealing. All in all, a lovely evening, even if we had made our reservations with the wrong ideas. 🧆

Das Gesamtpaket ist einfach fantastisch! Die Inneneinrichtung wirkt sehr einladend , das Essen war ausgezeichnet und ausgefallen. Wir waren gestern da und hatten Hähnchen mit Trüffelsauce und die Black Tiger Shrimps. Gerade im Raum Frankfurt gleichen sich die Gerichte und Restaurants oftmals aber hier spürt man den originellen Touch. Auch der Service war super toll, unsere Bedienung extrem freundlich und zuvorkommend. 5/5 Sternen, immer wieder gerne :)

Modern Indian cuisine in a very stylish atmosphere with friendly and fast service. Had, among other things, the lamb chops, tiger prawns and chicken korma with truffles and everything was very tasty without exception. There is also an excellent wine list.

The location, service and ambience are great. It's worth seeing. The food is not bad but not particularly good either. It doesn't taste really original Indian. The prices justify the location and the ambience, but unfortunately not the food.

We were thrilled! We went to the store a few weeks ago on the recommendation of a friend and were very satisfied. The food is very good and the service was great, many thanks to Marco. We were also impressed by the drinks and the ambience anyway. Gladly again :)

The ambience alone is absolutely great! Not the “typical Indian”, but modern, clear and also a bit “fancy”. The service staff are mostly very friendly and attentive. The dishes and drinks are consistently very tasty. A good place for nice, relaxed evenings with friends or for a date. And the cheese naan is a sensation! 😉

Was a disappointed with the food...somehow both the paneer dish and the chicken dish in the daily thalis appeared as if they were mixed with Mango lassi. Too sweet. Otherwise, it was ok.

Sehr gutes Essen bei sehr schönem Ambiente. Weinkarte ist ausgewogen und bietet für jeden Geldbeutel etwas. Preis/Leistung ist stimmig. Der Service unaufdringlich aber präsent, gute Beratung bei der Auswahl der Speisen. Die Portionen ausreichend, sehr gut zum Teilen.

For groups of 10 or more you have to take a menu which is very sparse for 55 euros. Not enough starter, main course various curries and a dry dessert. Completely overpriced and very poor management in my opinion. Ambiance, waiters and food are good. It's a shame it could have been a new local bar but you just feel like you're being ripped off. My recommendation is to definitely avoid larger groups

Unfortunately I can't give a review of the food because we couldn't enter the restaurant due to a lack of a reservation. The reservation information is only available on site. We arrived just under an hour before the 2:30pm lunchtime closing time and saw a sign at the entrance indicating the need for a reservation. Nevertheless, we entered the restaurant and asked for a table. Since we didn't have a reservation, we weren't offered a solution, even though some tables were empty. It seemed like it would have been possible to give us a table using the seats of guests who had already eaten and would soon be leaving the restaurant. Unfortunately, this option was not suggested to us and it felt as if they were unwilling to welcome us as guests. It would have been helpful if the staff had reacted more flexibly to the situation, especially since we were traveling from further away. Overall, this experience leaves a bitter aftertaste.

Das Essen war gut. Alles prima. Es ist mittags recht voll, man sollte also auch mittags unbedingt reservieren.

The food was very tasty and the atmosphere in the restaurant made you feel comfortable. The service was basically pretty nice, although we were confronted with a few strange questions… but otherwise everything was ok…

War sehr freundlich und das Essen wirklich was besonderes

The store looks great and the atmosphere is great! Unfortunately the food is nothing special. It's not bad, just normal. But we would have expected more for the prices. The service was also below average and not very friendly.

Wir hatten einen Tisch für 19 Uhr Monate vorher als Geschäftsessen bestellt. Es sollte ein Test für einen Abend mit mehreren Geschäftspartnern sein. Wir waren 20 Minuten vor dem Termin da. Unser Tisch war jedoch bereits schon vergeben. Also von 18-19 Uhr. Verwunderlich schon. Wir würden gefragt, ob wir auch mit einem anderen Tisch einverstanden wären. Ich sagte, ja, wenn der Platz auch gut ist. Die Dame sagte, wir haben nur gute Plätze. Wir wurden dann in den hinteren Bereich mit Blick zum Küchendurchgang und den Treppen zur Toilette platziert. Wir hatten erwartet, dass wir ab 19 Uhr unseren reservierten Tisch im Hauptgästebereich angeboten bekommen. Leider war das nicht der Fall. Wir hatten auch gesagt, dass wir einen Tisch für 5Personen im März bestellt haben und nicht schon nach 2 Stunden zum Gehen aufgefordert werden wollen, wie dies im AMAN üblich ist. Ich werde die Tischreservierung für unsere Geschäftspartner stornieren. Denn sietwas kann man Kunden aus den Ausland nicht zumuten. Auch für einen entspannten Restaurant Besuch ist ein Rauskomplimentieren nach 2 Stunden nicht zumutbar.
