A wonderful, rustic restaurant in Sassnitz. Very rustic, very good food, very generous portions, and beautifully presented. It's advisable to reserve a table in advance! The fish dishes are highly recommended. 😊🥳

Tourist trap? No. Not at all. Top-notch restaurant. Superbly delicious food. The price is absolutely right for the quality. I had one of the best schnitzels ever here. 300 grams but super thin, perfectly seasoned and fried. It doesn't get much better than that.

Nice restaurant in the old town - and always worth a visit because the food is pretty good - but unfortunately there are sometimes long waits to get your food (over an hour after ordering) - and then the staff unfortunately don't know how to convey this to the guests in the right way (sometimes they seem to catch them off guard and then become a bit grumpy) - that's a real shame.

We stopped by spontaneously, and despite rush hour, there was still a table for two with a toddler. Drinks arrived very promptly, and our meals took about 30 minutes, which is perfectly acceptable, as they appear to be freshly prepared. When it started to rain in the evening, the friendly waitress found us a table in the restaurant without us even asking. The service here is generally excellent; the staff were also accommodating to children. The food was good value for money, fresh, and delicious, but it wasn't exactly mind-blowing. The ambiance was also good, but the large 360° bar does make the atmosphere a bit less appealing. A definite recommendation if you're in the old town; we would come back.

The food was impeccable. Since it's freshly prepared, you can expect a bit of a wait. The service was very friendly, child-friendly, and pleasantly contributed to the atmosphere. Unfortunately, I have to deduct something because we were unlucky enough to be there on an evening when two women were sitting at the bar, laughing and screaming incredibly loudly. We couldn't have a normal conversation without being drowned out by their shrieking laughter. It's a shame. The atmosphere was generally cozy, though a bit cramped inside on one side.

I don't like writing bad reviews, but this time I have to make an exception. Unfortunately, our third visit left us very disappointed. The dish (salmon with tagliatelle) was a carelessly presented, amorphous mass, completely oversalted and thus inedible. The herring variations were also more show than substance. A shame. For the rather high price, both the appearance and, above all, the taste should be good. On the plus side, the good wine and very friendly service deserve mention.

Very casual, inconsiderate, the staff ignore guests' requests. Noise and drama until well after midnight. Definitely not recommended because they act friendly but in reality aren't tourists-friendly!

What can I say... The food is good overall! I've been there at least six times. It was a friend's recommendation. I've been there several times for the same thing, which seemed to automatically make me second-rate. It took a while, so my opinion is quite subjective... (But who isn't? 😁) The team is young and friendly. They're very busy, as the "Brasse" is quite busy, which seems only logical! The location in the heart of the old town, as well as the food, works! Especially during peak season. However, as a local, I sometimes wish for at least as much attention as tourists get.

We were there as a group of about 25 people for dinner after registering. We were given a separate room and a perfect buffet. The food was delicious, and the staff were very friendly. We've been on the island for many years and have had the chance to try out many different restaurants, but we'll definitely be back here next year. By the way, the owner is still a personable person, down-to-earth, and a great guy, especially when it comes to catering. They offer that too... so keep it up, and we look forward to seeing you next year.

A very cozy atmosphere and very friendly service. The staff made an effort, which is very much appreciated. Unfortunately, the food was a real shock to our stomachs – the pasta with spinach was far too sweet and inedible, and the fish with potatoes was unfortunately far too fatty... :( The fish and pasta really didn't leave a pleasant impression. We wish them much success and all the best!

The service staff was super friendly and quick. The cocktails were good. Unfortunately, the food wasn't that great. I ordered the schnitzel, which was dry. I lost my appetite after finding hair in it (see pictures). Although most of the food wasn't touched, I wasn't offered a replacement or refund after informing the staff. My friend ordered the baked potato, which was okay, but the sauce tasted like it was store-bought.

The food and drinks (Aperol Spritz, Planters Punch, Alster) were delicious and plentiful (including an XXL schnitzel). The service was friendly and pleasant. The only downside was that the kitchen took quite a while to prepare the food.

The service was super nice, drinks and food were served super quickly and the food tasted great. I had the spare ribs and they were the best I've ever had. I can only recommend this place wholeheartedly. Next time I'm on the island I'll be back 🙏🏻

My partner and I often go there for dinner when we both want a nice, quiet evening. We highly recommend eating there because the food is always fresh and tastes fantastic! The service is always friendly and welcoming, and you just feel at home. We like to sit there for 2-3 hours and enjoy the food and drinks, especially the cocktails, which always taste wonderful. I would definitely give it more stars if I could. Stay the way you are!

What everyone in the catering industry should know: you don't insult the guests! Point. - There was an open book in the entrance area that I took a look at. The waiter shouted loudly at me that it wasn't appropriate to look at a book like that. I told him then you shouldn't leave it open at the entrance. His face turned red and he seriously thought he might as well lock the door again. - Since it was "only" an employee (!) without manners, i.e. not the boss, we still took a seat at a table, but reduced the selection from main course to starter. -- Just as the tone was inappropriate and too loud, the music was also at pub level. - The bruschetta were ok, the question as to whether everything was ok came before I had started eating. 🤭😅 - The waiter couldn't bring himself to apologize for the boorish speech when entering the "Brasserie". Therefore, here is the appropriate rating.

After entering the dining room, we were loudly reprimanded that we were not allowed to look at the order book. Since the book is right next to the entrance door, the eye automatically falls on it. After this reception we should have turned back. This means you don't receive guests you want to stay. Luckily the food was tasty and the young woman who served us was friendly. However, the first impression prevents us from returning there again.

We stood in the harbor with the motorhome and looked for a restaurant. Because of the good reviews, we decided on the Altstadt Brasserie and were not disappointed. We had the roulade and the Sassnitz matjes specialties. Both were very special taste experiences. Many thanks to the entire team and again at any time.

We ordered catering from the Altstadt Brasserie Sassnitz for an event with 60 participants in Mukran Port. All arrangements were extremely straightforward and changes could be made until shortly before the event. We had finger food delivered to the venue in the form of burgers and appetizers. Ordering drinks via a service provider also went great. There was only one thing to say about the burgers in particular: you can't beat them in terms of creativity and taste explosion!

Ate New Year's menu here. Super atmosphere and really good meat. Fine wine, Chilean. We stayed right up in Villa Maria, and experienced the big New Year's fireworks set off by the host from the Altstadt, at close range, absolutely fantastic.

Celebrated New Year's Eve with friends at your place... thank you for your open, friendly manner. The cocktails were great and your fireworks were breathtaking.

Update: Unfortunately we have to correct the rating downwards after our second visit. The two girls were somehow not with the customers and seemed rather uninterested. Both should learn from their male colleagues how to serve guests in a friendly manner. Food wasn't that good either. Spaghetti Bolognaise was definitely not freshly made. Only tasted warmed up. Very unfortunate. -- The brasserie can be found in the old town of Sassnitz. In all respects we have to give 5 stars without any reservations. The restaurant is very cozy. The service staff are top. Friendly, helpful and open to all guests' wishes. The dishes were fresh and prepared according to our wishes (e.g. extra crispy fried potatoes). All large and very tasty portions. We really love this beautiful restaurant.

Very charming brasserie in the old town of Sassnitz. We were there spontaneously and were lucky, but a reservation is recommended. You should plan for a bit of a wait, but you'll be fully compensated with very good food. We had the Indian-style schnitzel (chicken and curry), tortoloni and Viennese-style schnitzel. The price was up, but still okay. Definitely visit.

There is a colorful selection of dishes. The ambience fits well. We were lucky and were able to get a seat without a reservation (right behind the counter). Very good for a quick drink replenishment. However, I noticed that the service staff walk without a tray and hold a plate or glass in each hand and walk to the table. Very bad for the company that sat behind us. When the last person got their food, the first ones were already finished. The service staff also speak very loudly. The food was very onion-heavy and the portions were adapted to good eaters. I was looking forward to a quiet and relaxing evening, but unfortunately this couldn't be fulfilled, nor was the question of whether it was tasty.

The food fills you up. But nothing more. You could see sauces being taken out of the fridge just before serving. It's not fresh.

No longer recommended!! We have been visiting the restaurant for 15 years, but over the past two years we have noticed that it is no longer worth going there... Unfortunately, the service-oriented staff is no longer there. The menu has been minimized and prices maximized significantly. We ordered a table by phone the day before at 3:30 p.m. When we got there in the pouring rain, we found the doors closed. When we asked a smoking waitress why the doors were closed since we had reserved a table, we were looked at with wide eyes and said "no, we don't open until 5 p.m."! There are two different signs at the front with two different opening times, one 3 p.m. and the other 5 p.m., what now? She reacted very rudely when we pointed it out to her and said “if that’s what it takes”… We imagined this afternoon differently; we had the feeling of not being welcome and of being a disruptive factor. Ultimately we looked for another restaurant!

Not recommended! The visit was a failure. We were inspired by the large number of visitors. Unfortunately, we quickly realized that the only reason there were so many people was because you had to wait forever for your order. The waitress didn't know which cake was in stock and even after asking the kitchen I got the wrong information. The sea buckthorn spritz I ordered was completely watered down. The cappuccino didn't deserve the name. This is also available to the visitors at the neighboring table. When they complained, the waitress said the coffee just comes out of the machine! So be warned, visit at your own risk.

Ate there twice, all the dishes were very good, the cutter cod fillet will be remembered for a long time 😋

Lousy service from the food service manager: -She began to serve drinks that had not been ordered. -when she was told the point at which the meat should be served, she must have gone deaf, she did not listen to what was asked of her and brought the meat at the point she wanted it to be. -when she was told it was not at the right doneness, she started shouting without listening or solving the situation. Sincerely a very bad experience with the attention of this unpresentable person. The best recommendation is not to go to this restaurant

Mala atención de la responsable de organizar el servicio de comidas. Mala educación, soberbia, sin respeto por el cliente: - puso bebidas que no se habían ordenado - no pusieron la carne al punto pedido( se le había explicado 5 veces) y cuando se le comentó, empezó a desvariar, dando voces y sin dejar hablar ni escuchar al cliente, evidentemente no cambió la carne y hubo que decirle como a los locos… que tenia razón. Destacó la falta de educación para estar dando un servicio al cliente por parte de esta responsable. No o recomiendo a nadie. Aparte que varios compañeros que han estado otra veces hayan tenido problemas digestivos después de comer mejillones. En resumidas cuentas, una pésima comida con un peor servicio.

What a nice place to eat outside. This small square with small alleys has a number of restaurants and shops and 100 meters further on you can walk straight onto the boulevard along the Baltic Sea. Recommended!

Spare rips were very good. Unfortunately, the staff was very stressed and correspondingly unfriendly. Even a generous tip didn't help and we were given a more or less unfriendly farewell. Also very unpleasant: There were several water bowls for dogs, all of them were empty. So here too, largely ignorance. The main thing is that the sales are right!!! ...but maybe not for long

We had High expectations after Reading the rewiews on Tripadvisor. My wife ordered the salmon, andre clearly specified, that she was allergic to tomatoes. When her dish came, there was a tomato on top of the Fish. We repeated that she was allergic and asked for a new dish. The waitress came back after a fem minutes, claiming that we never mentioned anything about tomatoes in an angry tone. She came Winther a dish without the tomato, so my wife began to eat. 30 minutes later she started to feel the pain.

We come to Sassnitz every year for the harbor days and enjoy our dinner in the brasserie every year. The food was very tasty, the atmosphere was great and the service was just great. See you next year 😀

Waitress wrote down wrong food. When we got it, she argued with us that we had ordered it that way and accused us of lying in the kitchen. We found out as follows: Loud complaining when the window was open. (Tip: better close it next time) After repeated inquiries from another waitress, we were given the right food without an apology.

There were very tasty homemade ravioli with fresh chanterelles and crunchy zucchini. The whole dish was very round and harmonious. Super tasty and always a pleasure!
