Despite many visitors, we quickly got a place. Great vaulted cellar, but very loud due to the construction. We waited quite a long time for drinks and food. Food was ok, but nothing special.

Great bear. So dense and fresh feeling. Not like something you buy from the market, a totally nice experience.

Pilsner is great. Wheat very good. Goulash was great

You can do anything if you're looking for something hearty and Bavarian.

Really great, quaint location. Food (hock) average or partly dry. The service is subpar - unfriendly, forgetful, overwhelmed. Overall, more of a mass production.

The knuckle was tasty, but was a bit too dry and the crust should have been crispy instead of hard. Service was okay. Overall okay, but with room for improvement. But you can still go!

Staff are incredibly rude, avoid

The menu leaves a lot to be desired, there is hardly any good choice of drinks, ice cold drinks are non-existent and the menu is manageable. In that sense, have a pleasant evening and have fun in a restaurant where you won't be happy for your money.

Good beer and food, but incredibly slow service. Maybe it's because we sat right in front of the porter. We ate from the menu, but if you go to the back behind the bar, you will find that they have much more food. E.g. goulash.

In all of Hamburg, I liked this restaurant the most. We didn't get to try the food, because the kitchen was open until 9 p.m. The atmosphere is extremely interesting, the interior is extremely interesting, the beer is excellent, as is the service. Special kudos to the waitress with blue eyes and blonde hair. She is very lovely. If I ever return to Hamburg, I will definitely come to this restaurant.

The Gröninger Privatbrauerei is a traditional German Beerhouse/brewery. The Menu is quite short and expensive. The Beer is tasty. The atmosphere is amazing. You feel like in the 18th sanctuary. The 10l Beer barrel it's nice for pictures, but not so easy to tap the beer. It have a big head, so you need to wait until all can drink the Beer.

I had the best experience with this place, specifically with the people there, they were absolutely nice and polite. The best option if you have guests from outside Germany

I've eaten at several restaurants with good reviews. Here's everything from the outside to the inside! It's not salty and delicious. I ordered 1 liter of beer after reading other reviews, and it went well with the Hakse. However, it did not become my favorite because it had a bitter taste. The atmosphere is nice and I recommend it. It was nice to be able to find a seat and take my order quickly. + I think you have to pay 1 euro to go to the bathroom. There was a staff member guarding the bathroom entrance. I have to go to the bathroom often after drinking beer. How can I hold on? Therefore, I deducted 1 star. Other than that it's perfect! I came alone and paid 30.4 euros for 1/2 Schwein school tax and 1 liter of beer, and no tip was required.

Old Private Brewery in heart of Hamburg. They offer 20L barrel and you with colleagues can drink it all. They have own brewing equipment and beer is excellent. Food was also very taste. For sure will come back when I'm again in Hamburg

Was turned away on Saturdays at 10:50 p.m. on the grounds that people would like to finish work earlier when there wasn't so much going on. Service is different.

Cool atmosphere and delicious food that doesn't taste like any other. The burger in particular has its own exciting taste that is unforgettable. In addition, the service was very attentive and despite the full house, they didn't lose sight of us. We look forward to your next visit!

Traditional gastronomy, full of kale, for those who like it. Unfortunately, there is also a lack of well-trained staff here. To pay with a card we had to go to the door because internet access was not available in the restaurant...outside temperature -1⁰

We planned to go to another restaurant for our quick visit to Hamburg, but it was fully booked. Then somebody recommeded this restaurant. We loved it: food was tasty and warm, beer was on point, and the service was great. Jasmina, one of the waitress, was super helpful and kind, and answered all our questions with no hesitation. We will go back for sure next time we are in Hamburg!

They were rude from the moment we arrived, they didn't want to give us a table and after we had eaten they asked us how much longer we would be there. Plus it took them a while to even bring us the beers. The only place in Hamburg that we have been treated badly

Visiting the Keller Brewery with friends. At first you think "Oh cool, comfortable like sitting in a wine cellar". But the reality, well. When we came in we immediately noticed a very musty smell. Maybe we should ventilate it? And we distinguish between positive things (smell of wood, etc.) and the indoor climate there...It wasn't comfortable. We had reserved a table. The beer is tasty, but the wait staff isn't very attentive. And unfortunately the food didn't really impress us.

At a company party I wanted to dine at Gröninger as a guest. All the food was ordered beforehand. My choice was a burger. Since I was unfortunately unable to attend due to illness, I called immediately on the day of the celebration at the specified opening time. The burger could not be canceled. Unfortunately I'm stuck with the cost of €22. That's not what I call good customer service. Very unfortunate

A brewery or a traditional pub with beautiful catacombs and its own beer production. Gröninger is characterized by hearty German cuisine and delicious beer. Since the inn is very long and can accommodate 200 guests, the noise level is always a bit high, which is appropriate in a restaurant like this. The decor is rustic and there are long tables where you can sit in a convivial atmosphere. Ideal for company parties, birthdays or bachelorette parties.

A service person was a bit rude. Otherwise OK. Knuckle without potatoes, had to order extra. Menu quite clear.

You can enjoy a great variaty of traditional German food, which goes really well beer. If you want to experience the traditional Hamburg beer scene, then you should come here. It's loved by local people. It's reasonable and quite tasty. The staff was friendly, hospitable and nice. The place is huge! A really good place for friends gathering! No good access for wheelchairs.

The service staff makes an effort. The first table assigned to us was far too narrow for 4 people. When we asked, we were immediately given another table. Unfortunately, the knuckle from the already small menu was sold out at 7:30 p.m. The beer was not available on tap, which was very bad for a brewery. The food we chose was also just good.

Spectacular atmosphere! Very nice but it's the only thing worth it. We ordered two beers but didn't know whether to order to eat or not. Unfortunately we were left wanting. The service was very dry and we did not feel treated with hospitality. A shame.

We were there with a group of 20 people. Had reserved a table in advance. The food was served about 30 minutes after ordering and was delicious and very hearty. We ordered the brewer's feast and the 10 liter barrel. Everything was tip top. Unfortunately it was extremely loud in the room because we weren't alone. Accordingly, it would be difficult to have a conversation. I would not recommend people with hearing aids to eat there in a larger group. Unfortunately there were no acoustic elements.

Very characteristic atmosphere, excellent beer, noisy but worth it. The shank is good and their local dish can be consumed by 4... the roasted chips are terrible. Slow in serving but probably due to the very crowded environment, better to book. However, suitable for those who want to drink good beer in a typical environment. Prices all in all fair.

The brewery is officially open until midnight on Thursday. We arrived around 10 p.m. and were only allowed to order a final drink... There wasn't even a pretzel... The service and friendliness?

Cool location, nice service but the selection of dishes is very limited. In my opinion, the buffet food was kept warm for a long time and the food was said to be homemade, “Never.”

My first and last time there. I order Juice, the waiter joked that it was a drink for children. A bit a bad joke, because I had alcoholic problem… Toilet inside need to be paid for, service often ignored us, because we were talking in English language, for German customers they cared a lot. I don’t recommend. I think it is better go to another place pay a bit more, and have respectful service and toilet for free…

Very quaint restaurant with a great ambience. The menu is simple, but there is something for every taste. The only criticism is perhaps that a few more vegetarian options would be great. But you could also argue that there are better places to go for vegetarian options. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. You just immediately felt comfortable.

We really liked the food (hock, roast sausages with cabbage, burger) and ambience. The service was fine due to the rush hour. With a lot of goodwill, this fact is worth 3 stars to me. Why? Now that the location is a brewery, I expect a lively brewery culture in all aspects. In my opinion, this requirement was unfortunately not the case for the core competency – beer. We tried the in-house Pils, which was brewed based on the beer style in question. In any case, this beer was not lean, fresh and appropriately hopped. Also cloudy-copper colored and with a roasted malt note that is not typical of the style. Independence or not, we were more than happy that we didn't order a 10 liter barrel of it. However, a look at the menu, which was quite poorly presented, made my beer drinker's heart beat faster. Namely because there was a Helles on the menu. This was ordered straight away and the next disappointment followed in the form of bottled beer. As already mentioned, we are in a brewery. Is it asking too much to offer 3-4 beers on tap under these circumstances? Precisely because the light beer from the bottle tasted pretty average and the cask factor would definitely have enhanced this product. How can I let a beer style, which has been gaining more and more market share in Germany in recent years, disappear from my menu and maintain it so inappropriately? So I'm not surprised that no other guest had a light beer on the table. But maybe that's just irrelevant to the average beer-is-beer drinker. The Gröninger couldn't meet my expectations of a brewery with its beer portfolio.

Beer is excellent. Having tried it we made a point of returning, as my husband said it "went down easily"! Someone said lack of choice, well when you have beer as good as this and you brew it why sell anything else? Best beer we found in Hamburg and Berlin, only wished they sold it at home! Food good too and great atmosphere. Perfect! Food looks excellent, I was just sad we weren't in a group and couldn't have the 10L of beer served in a keg at the table and the special platter they offer for four. It's huge and has a fabulous atmosphere, the staff were attentive and friendly without being pushy.

Fried potatoes are only available from the kitchen, even though it's listed under "buffet" on the menu. So you go back to the table with the food from the buffet to order fried potatoes separately. These came 15 minutes later, basically for dessert. This is poorly organized for such a large store. Toilets apparently clean, but it smelled in there the whole evening! At least the beer there is delicious, but that's about it. Maybe nice for tourists, but there are much better shops in Hamburg

quite a deception this restaurant. Went there last night. It is located in the cellar with is quite unique. But the place is extremely noisy, difficult to have conversations in there. The menu offers typical german meat based meals . There the confusion starts. You have a part of it that is by the Kg other for the entire table. I had to go at the bar to order and get the meat (leberkäse) than order fried potatoes (Bratkartoffeln) at the waiter at my table. So i had just my pice of meat without sides .. than later the fried potatoes came when the meat were already kind of cold. The meat is of good quality but with little taste, the potatoes, baked with bacon also were missing salt… Only thing that was great was the waiter and the bier.. than for the quality of food the price was quite high

I want to go back. A place where you can drink real beer. It's very sad that all the beers in the world are factory beers after drinking beer here.

We had a nice experience there. The food was good, the pork knuckle was not dry, and even though our German is poor, all of them communicated with us in English with no problem. Staff very nice towards us, even if the house was very full. Please do reserve a seat. This place is highly recommended!

Quite a good pub, a large amount of available beer, various snacks, a unique atmosphere with halls in which there are barrels for distilling beer, a cabinet in the form of beer barrels, super atmospheric. The interior is quite spacious, with an underground cave-like atmosphere. The beer was delicious, but the food was very salty and greasy, so it wasn't easy to eat. The staff is not friendly. I think you can visit just to have a light beer.

As non-German speakers we struggled. Eventually found an English menu. Wasn’t entirely clear how the buffet worked. Staff not particularly forthcoming in telling us how to order. Ended up with two massive slabs of meatloaf (German meatloaf is different from what I’m used to) and little room for anything else on the plates. The guy carving the meatloaf was not the friendliest of souls as I bumbled through trying to order. So - a lot to do with us not speaking German. Next time I’d order a burger. Disappointing, but definitely an experience!

Went here after a Google search for microbreweries in Hamburg. They had two beers on tap which were both great and they had excellent food. They are focused on meat based dishes but they had excellent offerings for plant based eaters as well. The service was excellent and I would definitely come back.

The Gröninger Braukeller has a rustic atmosphere, the food was very good and tasty, the beer was excellent and the prices are completely okay. The service was friendly and very quick.

A typical beer hall with large vats full of this golden drink. The relaxed atmosphere favors social gatherings in larger groups. An interesting fact is that you can order a private barrel of beer, which is placed at the table and you can fill the mugs yourself - since the barrel is 10 liters, this entertainment is rather aimed at larger groups.

Quite an average experience, would definitely stay away from the pork knuckle as it was very dry. The burger and bratwurst were good however. It took very long to get our first drink. The beer was good and the atmosphere was nice. We were also slightly confused about how the buffet worked.

Gröninger was one of my most favourite places in Hamburg. Even my first time in Germany in 2011 I went here. But after my recent visit today I will remove this place from my list. They served bottled beer and not even mentioning it on the menu, moreover smth happened with atmosphere and stuff which is not pleasant and even rude. Very sad and disappointed about what has happened with Gröninger

Despite running around like crazy (it was pretty full) girl serving the table was very polite and friendly. But didn’t understand why 1 l from tap is more expensive than the bottle.

This place might Look tiny, but its huge. You can enter from two Sides, and its quite a Walk from one entrance too the second. The Beer was good and the ambience very nice (you can also sit in Barrels). I recommend going Here (food also looked good).

Great location, the beer is delicious. Clean. Only the service wasn't what I imagined. The service staff preferred to talk to each other instead of serving the guests...I had to make myself known several times to place another order. And there were hardly any guests there (4:30 p.m.)...a shame actually.

Per: Service (also got a five euro tip) Beer (Alsterwasser orange and the draft beer both very good) The atmosphere is very good, including the cellar furnishings. You can buy a ten liter barrel that sits on a stool at the table. Cons: Prices from 1/2024. Sorry, you're pricing yourself out of the market. 10 euros for 200 grams of Leberkäse. 22 euros for a burger with eight potato wedges - hunger is inevitable. 0.4 liters of beer at 5.60 euros. Not everyone in Hamburg earns 60,000 euros gross per year. Also offers something for the small budget. No cell phone reception, no WiFi, no power plugs to charge cell phones. Hands are held out again when using the toilet (even for paying guests).

Been back here for ages, we went to Gröninger for dinner and drinks with several people. The beer from the 10l barrel was delicious and for dinner we had pork knuckle and currywurst. Both were more than good portions and they were definitely tasty. The service was also great. Everything happened very quickly. Unfortunately it's always a bit loud but there's nothing you can do about it. We will be back definitely

We had the Gröninger Bräuschmaus plate for two people. The food was ok, but for the price it wasn't worth it. I fry it just as well at home. The Kassler was quite dry. The rest was ok. The fried potatoes were an absolute disgrace. These were soggy and lukewarm. They were definitely not freshly prepared, but were probably picked up from the half-warm buffet. They tasted like they had been there for a long time. The atmosphere is very nice and the staff is friendly. The beer was ok, but a small selection for a brewery. We won't be coming back.

There's nothing wrong with the service or the drinks. The knuckle, on the other hand, was miserable. Probably from the day before or in the oven completely too long. Since we ordered when the restaurant opened, I assume it was a knuckle from the day before. Approximately 1cm thick layer of dried meat. Neither the knife nor the teeth can get through. Beef jerky is juicier. Despite complaining to the waiter, the only response was "I forwarded it to the kitchen"... Overall conclusion... More quantity than quality.

By a lucky coincidence we found the private brewery. The food is very good and plentiful. The beer is tasty. The best thing was the staff. They were in a very good mood and had lots of fun. Absolutely recommended for a group of men.
