Nice, very nice place to relax and meet up with friends. A wonderful idyll.

Beautiful beer garden right next to the city park. The food and drinks are perfect, and the service is fast and friendly. One point deducted for the opening hours; we were there on a Thursday, and it was really packed thanks to the rain. Unfortunately, the approximately 50 guests, including us, were asked to leave around 9 p.m. because the place was closing.

We ate here yesterday. I had an expensive goat cheese salad (€15) with brown, wilted leaves and barely any dressing. I complained. Then I received a dry, old cake as compensation. Payment is only accepted electronically, which is bad. If the staff isn't right... overall, it's expensive and bad. The only thing that's okay is the ambiance.

I always find it lovely here. Located in the city park, it has plenty of benches, tables, and chairs. Wonderful... in the sunshine with nice music in the background. Unfortunately, they currently only accept card payments, which I find a shame... well, it's becoming more and more common everywhere. But the beautifully landscaped beer garden makes up for it. I'm always happy to come back. Today (September 7, 2025) there was a food truck festival here.

I only stopped briefly today to have a beer in the beer garden. The prices are far too high for self-service. But I knew that. I wasn't aware that they didn't accept cash. The display offered the option to add a tip, but I didn't do it because, given the prices and the self-service, I wasn't ready for that. Later, I noticed that the tip was apparently automatically added to my bill. It's a nerve that really annoys me. The restaurateurs just can't get enough. I'm considering bringing my beer in a cooler in the future.

I was there with my colleagues for an after-work party in August 2025. It's a cozy spot, especially on that day because the weather was absolutely perfect. It's quiet, and there are wooden tables and benches where you can eat and drink. We had made a reservation in advance and received a blue wristband so we didn't have to stand in the sometimes long line at the counter to place our orders. The Hamburg Planetarium is also nearby.

We were at the café in Landhaus Walter today... everything was great, cake was very tasty, especially our waitress (young man) was very friendly and had a great view.. Great, we will be back

Paying €14.20 for a Spinaci pizza is quite a statement, but when it looks and tastes so similar to a discount pizza, it's almost a case for consumer protection. That's just plain cheeky. We were there in a large group, and apart from the fries, almost all the dishes were disappointing. The currywurst tasted like Curry King, which is also great considering you're paying €7.50 for it.

Wonderful...👌🏻 Winter garden and outdoor area very beautiful and new...the historic preservation renovation can't be topped...turned out soooo beautiful...and the cake 🍰...fresh and very, very delicious...we'll be back

Hello, I find it a bit strange that there are no prices listed on the food and drink menu available on the website...

Unfortunately, my visit to this restaurant was very disappointing. You have to serve yourself, which isn't appropriate given the rather high prices. The bun was hard, and the currywurst sauce tasted like a simple ready-made sauce from the supermarket. The burger was also not delicious: The meat was more like finely chopped sauerbraten, and the burger bun seemed old. Overall, the food was neither fresh nor tasty, and far too expensive for the quality. Unfortunately, it was completely unenjoyable.

Been there on August 13, 2025! Great atmosphere in the beer garden, self-service - often long lines, Pizza Diavolo was a disaster - €14.90 for a tasty frozen item. A half-liter of beer was €6.90 for Holsten/Erdinger, no words...

We tried out the new café at Landhaus Walter, made a reservation in advance, and went with six people. We sat outside in the conservatory. We really like the look of the decor. Despite the beautiful weather, it was naturally very busy. We waited 40 minutes for our order, which is way too long; unfortunately, the team isn't at all well-coordinated. There's definitely room for improvement here. The cake was delicious, though, even if it's quite expensive for its size. We're absolute fans of the beer garden and enjoy coming back again and again. The events organized in the summer are also worth a visit.

Never again...in the heat, I couldn't get anything to drink, even though I had money with me. They don't accept it. A 0.5-liter beer costs easily 30% more than in Eimsbüttel.

We found the prices far too high for self-service with a queue. Nevertheless, they persistently ask for tips before every card payment. I would have expected that at such prices, the staff would be paid fairly, and that such measures would be unnecessary.

Update: We tried the new café again – the prices are a bit higher, and the cake slices are quite small. The cake was tasty, though. The service was not great; they definitely need a retraining program. The beer garden is very nice, and the events are always well organized 👍🏻 The only thing is the food, which is a bit more expensive.

It's convenient for meeting up in the afternoon when the weather is nice. We've always found space here during the week. With occasional showers and low occupancy, it's easy to move to the covered area. The prices are, like elsewhere, "excessively expensive." It's understandable that this is self-service. The fact that only card payments are now possible isn't nice, but acceptable. I find it intrusive that, as is increasingly common here, the display first asks for the percentage of tip you want to give when making cashless payments, since the service is now carried out by the guest—unfortunately, this isn't an isolated incident.

A wine festival is all well and good. Friendly service. You get your drink in 2 minutes, but a 90-minute wait for a portion of nachos or fries is a bit too long...

Last weekend, I spent a few hours at Landhaus Walter in the afternoon enjoying live music from a blues band. We sat in one of the beach chairs, and after a few wine spritzers with ice cubes, I went to the restroom. There, I realized that, in my light-colored outfit, I must have sat on something wet because I had a large, dirty stain right in the middle of my bottom, and all the other guests saw it! When I returned, we discovered that a lot of wet earth and dirt had accumulated in the groove of the beach chair seat. I asked my companion to call a member of the staff to our seat because I was too uncomfortable to walk past the guests again with this noticeable stain. The waiter sent a so-called boss, who, instead of being understanding and accommodating, immediately countered, saying that they couldn't clean up after every guest and that, after all, they were responsible for where they sat. When I said the mess hadn't just been there yesterday and she was welcome to check it out herself, she replied that we'd brought in someone else's drinks because my iced water spritzer looked watery, and I had a 0.5-liter bottle of water with me that was less than a quarter full. I pointed out to the lady that I certainly wasn't the only guest who accidentally messed up their outfit there, and that I would have liked to at least apologize and try to find a solution together. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible, so I won't be going there again.

A very nice beer garden with plenty of seating and a cozy atmosphere. Both during the day and in the evening, it's a great place to relax, either alone or in a larger group. The drink selection is quite good, especially the many beers from various breweries. The food selection is okay, although there are sometimes very long waits.

Great beer festival! But the DJ was the worst in the world. Anyone who doesn't understand what the audience wants is in the wrong place.

At the craft beer festival hosted by Landhaus Walter, we had to wait 75 minutes for our food order, even though the delivery time was advertised as 30 minutes. Two inquiries to the waitress were each answered with "another 10-15 minutes." That was already 20 and 40 minutes ago, respectively.

A very nice beer garden with delicious burgers, pizza, and salads. The café is also highly recommended: amazing cakes and pies—and cozy seating in the winter garden.

Yesterday, after years, I went to the beer garden again, which has been beautifully redesigned. However, a small non-alcoholic bottle of beer costs €4.70 (card only)! Way too expensive for me! The card reader also asks for a tip, which I don't understand. There's no service. You get your drink and return the empty one. I don't tip at the supermarket card either. Sorry, but this pricing structure isn't right in my opinion.

Beautifully situated in the city park, it doesn't really create a beer garden atmosphere. The prices for drinks and (simple) mid-range food are ambitious, and the service at the self-service counter (card payments only) is leisurely. The floor, made of calcareous pebbles, is also annoying. Leaving the beer garden in shoes, you'll feel like you've just stepped off a construction site 😉

It's really nice on summer weekends with live music. The space is great, and we were able to eat there with our 2-year-old son.

Extremely overpriced. Goat cheese salad with a small, cheap slice of cream cheese, and the rest just greens. You can skip the fish and chips and get the overpriced fries instead. You have to hunt for those two or three pieces of fish. Alster, both for me and my colleague, was just beer combined with something else, but no Alster – despite complaining. The "chef" was extremely unfriendly and stressed. Not only were the guests treated this way, but the colleagues were also belittled in front of the guests. You were only allowed to use the restroom if you politely answered "YES" to the question "Are you eating here?" The atmosphere was nice, but the rest of the food wasn't quite right.

Expensive, and at the register, payment is ONLY by card... Tipping option when paying (thankfully, also "no tip"). And that's despite no table service.

Thank you for a fantastic event for my department at LHT. Several food trucks and grill stations with delicious food and drinks, as well as refrigerators and a large indoor bar, contributed to a successful celebration. The food supply was occasionally stagnant, and the organizers can't do anything about the weather. Highly recommended location - 7/2025

The beer garden has been beautifully redesigned, and the atmosphere is truly wonderful. The food on offer is heavily pizza and burger-focused and overpriced for what's on offer.

July 10, 2025 The prices are really expensive considering you have to queue up to order something to drink or eat! So no waiter! And... the prices for a 0.5 liter wheat beer are variable!?!?! One time it's €6.70 (it's also on the price board), then €6.50 or €6.60!?!? So, in the future, this company will take things elsewhere! I think it's just a rip-off!

Very disappointing! The location is okay, and the seating is quite nice. I'm always annoyed by the dogs, or rather their owners, but that's my personal preference... But about the food and service: I found the staff very arrogant and constantly annoyed. The prices are outrageous for what's on offer. Worst burger I've ever had in Hamburg, served with potato chips (classic packet chips) that the waiters grab from a large bowl with their bare hands. The salad is bland, with no zest or specialness whatsoever. €150 for 5 people, including small drinks. I would have had better food at McDonald's. We'll never go there again.

It was definitely recommended in the past, but unfortunately not anymore. The service was uninterested and spoke poor German. The food was average but very expensive. And considering there's no table service and you have to do everything yourself, it's even more expensive. Unfortunately, the table decorations are all dry and very poorly decorated.

Great location. I was there for a company event. Both the service and the food were excellent. The location was very easy to reach and the ambiance was pleasant.

Very nice ambiance, but the quality of the cake leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion – the apple cake would probably taste better as a ready-made cake, and then the whipped cream from a can – a no-go for me. One type of black tea – also just Earl Grey :-( – and a glass of fresh mint tea for €4.50 contained maybe 6 leaves (a thick bunch costs just 99 cents in a Turkish supermarket). It's a shame they don't place more emphasis on quality here – a beer garden doesn't always have to be cafeteria-style.

Very nice beer garden. We paid a whopping €20 for three cappuccinos and one iced coffee, and we were satisfied.

Nice place for large events. We had street food carts everywhere where we could pick up a variety of food ourselves. A little tip for the ladies: don't wear high heels... There's gravel everywhere. Friendly staff.

After an early morning paddle, head to Landhaus Walter for a delicious piece of cake? That's only partly possible: There was cake, but it wasn't tasty. Why can't they do something better for €4.50 plus €1 for whipped cream? Probably because the walk-up customers come and go. Too bad, but it was worth a try.

Review washing is being practiced. My 3-star review, which was generally positive but didn't earn more stars due to an extremely long wait, was requested to be deleted by Google on the grounds of "defamation." I've already heard the same thing from three other people in my circle of friends. Long wait times aren't nice, but they can happen. But actively cleaning up "bad" reviews puts the store in a very bad light. Whatever, I like Sierichs much better anyway ;-)

The atmosphere would be great if it weren't for the unreliable opening hours. It's a shame you can only go there spontaneously and hope that someone wants to open the beer garden. But sometimes it's just closed because there's some event the next day. It's a real shame we used to love going there and often, but that's no longer possible.

With its new look, the venue appears more sophisticated than before. Primarily corporate events and private parties. Dropping in spontaneously is no longer a good idea. They don't even offer bratwurst and fries, just frozen tarte flambée and pizza. The reason: supposedly no staff. But there are two security guards at each entrance and in the middle of the venue, easily a total of 10-15 people. Wrong priorities with the staff?

Great place to eat with friends. They have a very large open area with tons of seats, and lots of covered seats for the rain. They even have individual seats if you want to sit and enjoy your beer on your own. It is surrounded by trees and is relatively quiet, nice place to enjoy an evening.

I only went to the fantastic outdoor area. There's no table service there, though. Otherwise, a really cool location.

We celebrated our wedding at Landhaus Walter last week and were absolutely thrilled. From the entire organization and planning beforehand with Sabrina to the day of the celebration, it was completely relaxed and uncomplicated. The service was incredibly attentive and friendly, everyone praised the food, and the entire atmosphere was simply fantastic. We had a truly wonderful celebration and can highly recommend Landhaus Walter, with its city park as the perfect setting.

Beautiful beer garden. The food is a disaster, the beer is tasty, and the service staff are very friendly. As for the food: The fries for €6 including a dip (although the sour cream was an additional 0.50) were fried, but cold, as if they'd been sitting for at least 10 minutes. When I picked them up, I also saw two or three bags waiting for them. Maybe they were already cold? Unbelievable: €6.50 for something so simple, and they can't do it right—any swimming pool can do it better. I'd happily come back for a drink, but I'll get something to eat somewhere else first.
