The food was okay, although it could be improved.

A rustic and cozy restaurant with friendly service and delicious food at good prices. The menu is excellent, including dishes you don't often find elsewhere (e.g., fried carp), and features regional meat and fish sources (e.g., Moritzburg). We had a very pleasant and delicious evening here.

I can't agree with these 1-2 star reviews. I was there for the first time today and everything that was supposedly negative was positive. Very nice, friendly young man who greeted you with a smile and provided really great service. The food came quickly too. The starter was delicious and my pumpkin pasta was very tasty. The portions are not too big and not too small. Just right. They were all delicious, and my companion's fries were great too, well seasoned and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I was really surprised why it got such negative reviews; I can't say anything negative about it. Yes, the walls are a bit bare, but with one or two pictures next to the pumpkins it's even more inviting. Vegetarians can find something there too. What I think is great is good home-cooked food. Special requests were also accommodated wherever possible. I'd be happy to come back.

I had dinner at the Bauernstube Altmockritz last night and was truly pleasantly surprised. The new team is very friendly and attentive – not just to me, but also to the other guests. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere pleasant. It's a shame that negative reviews seem to be deliberately written here – my impression was entirely positive. I highly recommend a visit!

I ate at the Bauernstube with my two grandchildren. We were very disappointed with the restaurant. I remembered it from a year ago. Back then, it was very rustic and they served delicious German food. Now, it has nothing to do with Bauernstube or German cuisine. The waiters hardly speak German, and the food is no longer authentically German. When I asked the waiter for a smaller portion for my younger grandson, he only gave me rude replies, and they charged the full amount for the children's meal. Not recommended at all.

My grandpa was so annoyed with this restaurant that I'm writing the review now (my grandpa is too old for this): He just wanted a drink. He observed: how you poured stale beer from three different glasses into one and served it to the customers. Understandably, he lost his appetite. He at least wanted to use the restroom. On his way to the restroom, he passed the kitchen. The cooks were standing in the kitchen smoking. Not recommended at all.

After reading the reviews, we were a bit skeptical, but we can't agree with any of the negative reviews. We had super delicious food with fresh mushrooms, fresh and not overly seasoned. Despite the crowds, everything was quick and very pleasant. We'll definitely be back.

I was invited there yesterday with a friend. Unfortunately, I have to give it one star to even write something; I don't recommend it at all; it was my first and last time there. The restaurant is very dreary and cold, not conducive to a comfortable atmosphere (it might be okay for the summer). We wanted to sit outside, but it wasn't possible: The furniture was soggy and the tables had sharp edges—I hurt my elbow. The service is very unfriendly, rude, barely understands German, and you can expect very long waits. As someone with allergies, I asked about the additives. The waiters ranted back and forth, but there was no list of additives. I had to eat a Shopska salad, which was completely oversalted, overseasoned, covered in a disgusting sauce, and the salad smelled funny. Unfortunately, it wasn't an original Shopska salad. The waiters were very rude and unfriendly. At the other two, the meat was raw, cold, everything was overseasoned, and the fries tasted weird. We left the restaurant with growling stomachs. I even threw up last night. Even my friend, who has a strong stomach, felt sick. If you value your life, don't go there.

We have been regular customers for years, but the new owners have last seen us. Unfortunately, that has nothing to do with German food. When I looked into the kitchen, I unfortunately saw the explanation: Why the food is suddenly so bad? The cooks speak loudly in a different language. One with a beard was smoking in the kitchen. We were shocked. We were there on September 3rd. The food couldn't be worse. Waiters were running around saying the cooks just hadn't come, even though there were two cooks in the kitchen. Apparently the cooks before that had also fled. When we came back to eat, it was too salty and absolutely inedible. Everything was dry and toe-curling... Many dishes were missing. The service also left a lot to be desired; the waiters were overwhelmed. Unfortunately, it was better under the previous owner. Good kitchen girls who were very personable. Nice waiters and the food was great. Sadly, those days are over. After speaking to the people at the next table, they told us the old owner has unfortunately retired. Unfortunately, others told us the same thing; unfortunately, the food at the next table didn't taste very good either. We're disappointed for the price. Unfortunately, we expected something different. You'll have to endure a long wait. Unfortunately, I had the feeling the kitchen was overwhelmed. The restaurant is completely empty, and I know the pictures online don't match.

Last time I was here the schnitzel was black and the potatoes were raw and the waitress didn't understand me..👎🏻

We went to the Bauernstube for dinner last night. We were also curious about the new owners. There's still room for improvement. The service was very friendly, the young man, the food was delicious, and the wait time was okay. I found it annoying that the owners sit in the beer garden and constantly smoke. Oh, and the tables outside, with their sharp edges, desperately need replacing.

Unfortunately, only 3 stars. There were three of us dining. We were told right from the start that it might take a while, but the fact that we ended up having to wait over two hours for our food was just too much. The service was very friendly and even gave us a free drink, but it's a shame. The food was still good and plentiful. We hope the new owners get their act together and step up their game a bit when it comes to food preparation. It looks a bit sparse inside; a few pictures would be nice.

We went for lunch. The service was very friendly and the food was delicious. The chanterelle omelet was generously filled with mushrooms. Only the portion of pasta in the children's meal was meager for the price. The farmer's breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We enjoyed it. Thank you very much.

A table was reserved for 8 people by email. Drinks, starters and main courses were ordered. It took a good 30 minutes for the two starters to arrive. Then it took 2 hours for the main courses to be served. We placed our order at 7.30 p.m. and had 2 children with us. When we asked, we were told there was only one chef. When we took our order, no one mentioned that it might take longer. The pork fillet was raw on the inside, the fries were partly cold on the inside, the breading on the schnitzel was extremely salty and over-seasoned. The fried potatoes were very burnt, too salty and over-seasoned. We were all totally disappointed, especially since the restaurant used to be an absolute hit, but now, with the new owner, it's really terrible. We did get the children's meal waived in the end, but we will definitely not be going to this restaurant again.

Incredibly friendly team, very tasty food and large portions

The new owners are ruining the reputation of the "Altmockritzer Bauernstube." I booked a table for 8 people (4 adults and 4 children) at 7 p.m. and were bitterly disappointed. After repeated requests, the children received a bowl of salad after 2.5 hours, and the first food arrived around 9:47 p.m. The fried potatoes were burnt, raw medallions were served, mushy croquettes, and half-frozen fries. Everything was completely overseasoned. A whopping €144.50 for poor service and food. Then they call me a liar because they allegedly told me it would take several hours. The children's meal was deducted, and when I mentioned the review, the waitress wanted to refund me €50. Weird. At the end, they even told me that a chef was unavailable due to illness. They could have provided this information upon arrival. Everything the previous owner and his wife had built up, the new owners have ruined for me. Conclusion: WE WON'T GO THERE ANYMORE! It's best to close the business. And don't let the child work for you until the early hours!

Waiting time 2 hours or more, poor service. All dishes were heavily seasoned and tasteless. The meat was raw. The kitchen was understaffed. The old owners were worlds better, and the environment was much more pleasant. The food was tastier, and the service was friendlier.

We were here for dinner today. The surroundings are picturesque and the ambience is rustic and cozy. Reserved as a precaution. Very friendly service. The food is freshly prepared and was served quite quickly. We had roulade with dumplings and steak with spiced meat. Both dishes were delicious, juicy, tender and lovingly prepared. The prices are absolutely right for the fresh food, the generous portions and the fast and friendly service. Conclusion: great.

We sent an email to reserve a table for four people, but received no response. We tried contacting them by phone several times (12 times), also without success. Customer service looks different to us.

Not far from Camping Mockritz we discovered the Altmockritzer Bauerstube and had a very good meal there. The fried veal liver was a poem because it was served plain and not drowned in any sauce. Likewise the Thuringian roast, which was served soft and still pink, covered with fresh (glazed) onions. The food came quickly, the staff is super friendly and the price is more than appropriate for the quality. A recommendation! ... and we would love to come back.

Came by here by chance or found through maps. Old rustic inn. Very friendly service. My wishes were met, differing from the menu. The schnitzel was very good. A fresh knock could be heard all the way into the beer garden. 👍 Plenty of portion and the schnitzel was for adults 😋. On your next visit to the region, definitely again.

Very nice innkeepers are concerned about the guest's well-being. Everyone should find something on the menu. The German cuisine is convincing and also has moderate prices. Here you can end the day comfortably with food and drink.

Von Außen macht die „Bauernstube“ einen sehr einladenden Eindruck. Und auch drinnen ist es sehr gemütlich, wenn auch die vielen Devotionalien einen schier erdrücken… die Akkustik im Gastraum ist gerade, wenn viele Gäste vor Ort sind, sehr laut und man versteht sein eigenes Wort nicht. Ich bestellte, da Saison, das Rumpsteak mit Spargel, dazu Bratkartoffeln. Nach über einer Stunde Wartezeit (dies wurde im Vorfeld angekündigt) kam dann mein Essen - und um es vorweg zu nehmen: es war eine einzige Enttäuschung! 5 dünne, latschige Spargel, das Rumpsteak ebenfalls viel zu dünn, die Haut total verbrannt (innen gerade noch Medium Rare…), die Bratkartoffeln überwürzt und mit reichlich Zwiebeln „garniert“. Die „Weinkarte“ unterirdisch, der bestellte Riesling aus der Pfalz (Winzer?) war viel zu kalt serviert worden. Dazu hatte er null Aroma. Fazit: Das Rumpsteak mit Spargel und (Brat-)Kartoffeln für knapp 26 Euro völlig überzogen für die mangelhafte Qualität, der Preis für den Wein (5,60 Euro für 0,2 Glas) grds. in Ordnung, qualitativ aber ebenfalls kein Gaumenschmaus - hier war ich bestimmt das Erste und Letzte mal…

Went hiking on Sunday and stopped at the Altmockritzer Bauernstube. Despite the rainy weather, we decided to sit outside. All the employees were very nice and always had a funny saying on their lips. The food and drinks were excellent, the price is perfectly reasonable considering you get delicious food in a good portion size. Will definitely come here again.

We really enjoyed it and the innkeepers were very friendly. We didn't have a reservation and there were nine people and we were still taken care of. Thanks. It was really very nice.

Gosh. Over €20 for a roulade that is almost as “big” as one of the two medium-sized ready-made dumplings on a pile of red cabbage.

It's an excellent restaurant!!!

It used to be better. Our food wasn't really warm and some of the dumplings weren't cooked properly. Fish (where you think in a restaurant it is made fresh) is breaded and bought and fried with tons of oil. In addition, because the fish swimming in fat is not enough, there is 50g of butter, rolled in herbs, because you apparently want to save on real herb butter. I can't recommend it and won't be a guest there again.

Wir haben unser Klassentreffen da gemacht. Eine liebevolle Tafel war für uns vorbereitet. Wir haben super super lecker gegessen und wurden liebevoll bedient. Es war ein sehr schönes Klassentreffen, wenn auch einige noch in Urlaub waren oder aus gesundheitlichen Gründen nicht kommen konnten. Ein ganz tolles Dankeschön an Uwe und seine liebe Partnerin und an das Küchenpersonal, was sooo lecker kochen kann. 👏👏👍😋

Nicht noch 1x - leider. Speisen kamen lauwarm, Bratkartoffeln waren nicht frisch gebraten! Nur aufgewärmt und matschig. Schönes Stübchen mit mittelmäßigen Essen zu gesalzenen Preisen.

Waren hier das 2. und auch letzte Mal. Beim 1. Besuch war die Suppe grade lauwarm. Heute Sülze mit Bratkartoffeln, Sülze war nach dem nachwürzen okay. Aber die Bratkartoffeln waren ihren Namen nicht wert: Vorgebraten und dann wieder erwärmt, auch nur lauwarm und dazu noch labberig. Das geht gar nicht. Schade um das schöne Lokal, aber wir kommen nicht wieder.

Die Karte ist reichhaltig und es ist für jeden was dabei Sonderwünsche wie Beilagen Änderungen sind überhaupt kein Problem Das Essen ist super lecker und die Portionen sind richtig groß. Alle sehr nett und das Essen kam sehr schnell.

Wir waren mit 17 Personen an einem Samstag zu Gast. Unser Fazit: unbedingt empfehlenswert. Es gab nichts zu beanstanden. Super leckeres Essen. Alle Speisen worden frisch zubereitet. Trotz der großen Runde und anderen Gästen im Haus musste niemand lange auf sein Essen warten. Ein phantastischer Wirt und eine supernette Bedienung. Extrawünsche worden stets umgesetzt. Tolles Preis/ Leistungsverhältnis. Wer eine gemütliche Gaststätte sucht mit leckerer Hausmannskost zu angemessenen Preisen ist hier also bestens aufgehoben!

Wir waren mit 17 Personen im Rahmen eines Klassentreffens zu Gast und können nur positiv berichtet. Das Essen war super lecker. Sehr gutes Preis/ Leistungsverhältnis. Ausgesprochen freundliche Bedienung und Kundenwünsche wurden direkt umgesetzt. Die Speisen wurden alle frisch zubereitet. Trotz der großen Runde und anderer Gäste im Restaurant musste niemand lange auf sein Essen warten. Wir können diese Gaststätte auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen!!!

Schönes, rustikales, Ambiente, sehr leckeres, frisches Essen. Einen sterneabzug gibt es, weil Fernsehen mit Sport an der Wand lief...muss das sein? Nettes Personal, auch für Kinder sehr zu empfehlen, weil Spielplatz davor...

Wir waren nur als Zwischenstopp bei einen Bellotreffen eingekehrt. Das Lokal mit Terrasse liegt in ruhiger Lage am Kaitzbach. Es lädt zum Verweilen ein. Im Anschluss oder davor bietet es sich an ein Spaziergang, entlang des Bachverlauf zu machen.

Dienstags ist offensichtlich auch Ruhetag. Man könnte auch die Öffnungszeiten aktuell halten.
