Schöne traditionelle Lokalität in der Münsteraner Altstadt mit klassischer gutbürgerlicher Küche und sehr gutem Essen und einem sehr aufmerksamen Service. Wir haben den letzten Platz draußen ergattert und waren insgesamt sehr zufrieden. Fazit: Lohnt!

Traditionelles gutbürgerliches Essen aus frischen Zutaten. Der Kellner war eine type für sich, mit dessen Art man umgehen muß, aber er war aufmerksam und freundlich.

Een restaurant met typische Duitse gerechten. Ook voldoende vegetarisch aanbod dat bovendien net wat 'anders dan standaard' is. De schnitzel van knolselderij met puree is verrukkelijk! Mijn partner kom als vleeseter ook heel goed terecht (keuzestress, vanwege te veel lekkere opties). Het interieur maakt een bezoek aan dit restaurant ook de moeite waard. Reserveren is meestal nodig, maar je kunt op de bonnefooi geluk hebben. Ik ben er nu tweemaal geweest.

Rigtig god mad, klassiske tyske retter. Meget velsmagende. God betjening ved bordene uden for, dog sad man lidt tæt på vejkanten.

Wirklich sehr zu empfehlen! Traditionell, echte Küche halt! Es hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam, die Chefin hatte alles im Griff. Für unsere Männertour im Oktober werde ich auf jeden Fall einen Tisch reservieren........

We were a couple that went out for dinner a Saturday evening. We wanted some authentic German food and ended up with Schweinhaxe and Sauerkraut. Very tasty and friendly and expedient waiter.

Die Bratwurst sehr trocken die Soße war von Pulver angerührt Kartoffelpüree gut aber ohne Geschmack der Spitzkohl war nur in verdünnter Sahne gekocht ohne Geschmack beim Senfdeckel war am Rand alter androckneter Senf

Geweldige atmosfeer en beleving. Het heeft een menukaart met typisch lokale gerechten die allemaal heel amakelijk zijn. Het was er wel heel erg druk en daar moet je van houden. Aardige medewerkers die aandacht voor de gasten hebben.

Heerlijk gegeten. Duitse keuken, met zorg klaargemaakt. Inrichting met delfstblauwe tegeltjes en antiek. Laat je niet afleiden hierdoor. Het eten en de gezelligheid zijn prima. Grote menukaart. Het was heel druk, maar ondanks dat bleven de medewerkers heel vriendelijk en attent.

Delicious Pilsner and very friendly service

Nach Langem haben wir wiedermal Münster besucht, mit einem Pflichtbesuch des Leve. Wir lieben die traditionellen Gerichte, die in anderen Orten, wo es nur "Drehspieß" gibt, ausgestorben sind. Hertvorstechend ist die freundliche, hilfsbereite Bediennung, angefangen beim freundlichen Empfang und Begleitung zum Wunschtisch, aufmerksamer, schneller Service und Flexibilität.

Very unfriendly service. Although there were still enough tables available, we were told with two people that we could only sit somewhere else.

I haven't seen such a child-friendly restaurant in a long time. The word inn says it all. Here the customer and their children are truly guests and not a nuisance. Great food at fairer prices. We will be back.

Original Westphalian specialties. Excellent!

Rustic atmosphere. Top service. Very tasty food - roulade with mashed potatoes and red cabbage + potato salad with homemade bratwurst. Great value for money. We'd love to come back.

Delicious beer and super delicious food.

My favorite restaurant on this trip to Germany. The beer is so delicious and refreshing. The sauerkraut and pork knuckles also taste very good, and they are the best compared to what I have eaten in other cities. Highly recommended to try, be sure to make a reservation otherwise you will have to wait for a table. Finally, I would like to remind the restaurant owner to pay attention to the working relationship between the bar staff. While waiting for a table, I noticed something wrong even though I could not understand a word of German.

The food was good but we didn't like the waiter or the rest of the staff. It's unprofessional to hear slimy, old man humor from the waiter. A woman in her mid-50s should not be addressed as a “girl” in a restaurant. It's a shame because we usually value professional, well-trained waiters very much.

We had a table for 5 people, reserved in advance. Great, still very typical inn with a remarkable and pleasing number of guests, which speaks for very good cuisine and hospitality. I can confirm that 100%. Dogs are also allowed, which I find very nice as I am a dog owner myself. Like the guests, the dogs should also know how to behave. It wasn't our last visit to the “Altes Gasthaus Leve”.

If you like good, classic German cuisine, you've come to the right place. Anyone who likes good, tasty food is also in good hands here. The Rhenish-style sauerbraten is highly recommended, but many other dishes are also very delicious (e.g. the boiled beef, the knuckle or one of the legs). As I said, the dishes are great, the portion size is also optimal, the service is friendly and competent, so all around top. Only the volume is quite high. But it also suggests that other guests also like it. ;)

From the ambience to good service and delicious food, there was nothing to complain about during our visit! The price-performance ratio is definitely right. You pay a little more, but you also get a correspondingly good quality service. The only thing that is a bit annoying is the noise, but this is difficult to improve due to the old, stylish rooms.

I was there on March 13, 2024. Great ambience, good service, food looked great too. When you study the menu, you notice that someone has simply put some thought into making everything harmonious and suitable for the house and ambience. The Doppelbock beer was widely advertised online, which was also the deciding factor why I visited the restaurant. However, the product was no longer available, which was all the more incomprehensible because there was still a corresponding advertising display on every table. I've noticed this more often lately, that outdoor advertising and offers don't always match. It's not OK. Still absolutely worth a visit.

Quaint restaurant with delicious regional dishes.

A typically rustic Münsterland restaurant. Well equipped with very good service. We were there spontaneously on March 9th, 2024 and were lucky to sit at a table for 6 with two other strangers. The food was very tasty 😋 (cakes and bacon pancakes). An all-round cozy and pleasant time spent. Gladly again.

Very nice to eat as a group. On Saturday the company hosted our Christmas party here. For 12 people there were 11 different dishes and everything came out hot and really perfect Table. The drinks also came quickly and were always freshly tapped. We felt completely comfortable! Thank you very much for the jovial evening! ... in the reviews here you can read that the portions are large, yes you can confirm this.

Very good food in a cozy atmosphere. Since many other guests appreciate this restaurant, it is very busy and therefore a bit noisy. The staff is very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. It was definitely not my last visit.

Was in Münster for the first time. An absolutely great inn, very high standard, there is nothing to complain about. I would like to say one of the best inns I have ever visited. Price performance is absolutely right.

Venison roasted steak with cranberry chutney and hearty gravy is 10 out of 5:) + local Pinkus blanche beer is good companion. The historical premises also add to the atmosphere.

The food as well as the inn itself was a 10/10, what really made my stay worse was that I wasn't allowed to play cards and I was then forced to remove my cards in the most cheeky way. As a result, the inn lost a loyal customer. Never again!!!!!

Historisch belassenes Gasthaus mit sehr gemütlichem Ambiente. Wir hatten die Westfälische Blutwurst und den Westfälischen Grünkohl je mit KRONEN aus dem Steinkrug. Alles SEHR zu empfehlen sowie auch der bei uns super gute und nette Service. Reservieren zu empfehlen!

Eins der besten Restaurants mit deutscher Küche in Münster. Schön urig eingerichtet mit Holztäfelung und Delfter Fliesen. Das Essen ist sensationell und das Personal sehr freundlich und schnell. Das Fleisch kommt aus der Region und wird immer auf den Punkt zubereitet serviert. Die Auswahl an Getränken ist ebenso gut wie das Essen. --> Empfehlung: Augustiner Edelstoff vom Fass In der Winterzeit ist die Gans sehr zu empfehlen (muss vorbestellt werden). Wer herzhafte, gute Küche und ein leckeres Getränk in toller Atmosphäre wertschätzt wird hier definitiv glücklich.

Großartig - köstlich - gemütlich- unbedingt hingehen

Alles gut bis aufs Ambiente kann man mal Renovieren aber ich denke die Nostalgie machts aus

Beim letzten Besuch war es abends unglaublich voll. Aber nach kurzer Wartezeit gab es noch einen Platz für zwei Personen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und das Essen wirklich sehr lecker. Unbedingt besuchen.

Geniales Gasthaus in Münster. Klassisch westfälische Küche wie bei Muttern. Service perfekt, Ambiente perfekt und köstliches Essen. Komme definitiv gerne wieder.

Immer wieder sehr gutes und "ehrliches" Essen zu einem wirklich fairen Preis. Der Service ist hervorragend. Super höflich, sehr aufmerksam und sich auch für einen "Scherz" nicht zu schade. Wir kommen, seit 1987, immer wieder sehr, sehr gerne. Danke für dieses "leckere" Erlebnis.

Sehr leckeres Essen und tolles Ambiente.

Lage in der Stadt. Service aufmerksam. Essen sehr gut aber auch sehr viel und auch entsprechend bepreist. Das Ambiente ist an sich 5 Sterne wert aber leider gehört für mich zum Abiente auch der Geruch. Und das ist ein Problem. Schon beim reinkommen riecht man es und später riecht man selber - schade. Als Abschluss am Abend ja, zum Mittag eher nein.

Fantastisches Ambiente, weltklasse Ober! Das Essen war gut, aber nicht sehr gut: Beim "Jägerschnitzel" war zu wenig Sauce und der Grünkohl war zu salzig. Aber dennoch wunderbar dort.

Das Gasthaus Leve besticht durch eine traditionelle gemütliche Einrichtung, einen effizienten und freundlichen Service und sehr gute Westfälischer Küche. Der Sauerbraten schmeckte hervorragend, die Portionen sind sehr ausreichend. Insgesamt ein gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis und jenen zu empfehlen, die traditionelle Küche aus der Region bevorzugen.

Really good and fresh food. We were lucky to get a seat without a reservation on Saturday. It was full. I had hirsch ragout with spatzle and my wife got rolade. Kids got kindersnitzel. Everything very tasty and nice big portions. We have compared it with another well rated restaurant in Munster, this one is our favourite one and we will be back as soon as we are nearby. The waiter was very funny and had good appraach to the kids. The restaurant is beautiful inside and it smells great all around.

Sehr freundliches Personal! Ambiete einfach schön und sehr passend ! Wir haben ein großes Schnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln und Jägersoße gegessen, vorweg gab es einen super leckeren Salat. Für unseren kleinen Mann (1 1/2 Jahre) gab es eine mini Portion Fischstäbchen und Kartoffelbrei! Wir 3 haben alles ausgegessen und sind begeistert von der super Qualität. Vielen Dank dafür! Wir kommen wieder, wenn wir in Münster sind.

Hier wird noch gekocht, wie es anderswo kaum noch jemand kann und das Ganze in einer urigen Münsterländer Umgebung und der direkten, charmanten Art. Die Schweinshaxe ist fantastisch - jederzeit gerne wieder :)

Top Restaurant, wir haben ohne Tischreservierung nach kurzer Zeit einen Platz zugewiesen bekommen, ob wohl vollem Weihnachtsmarktes. Das Essen ist sehr gute münsterländer Küche, sehr leckere Biersorten und der Service ist nicht zutopen. Danke für die wunderbaren Abende, wir werden das Haus sehr gerne weiter empfehlen.
