Lovely restaurant with pleasant decor. Prices are reasonable. If only the wait wasn't so long. We were a party of 12, and all the food arrived gradually. When we inquired, we were informed that there was only one oven available for tarte flambée. Dear owner, this can be changed; there are more ovens available. Your guests will thank you. I stumbled upon the Altenwegshof quite by chance, but I've been a regular guest ever since. The view is beautiful. The terrace is especially lovely in the summer. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is delicious. I also highly recommend stopping by for a nice glass of wine.

A very beautiful location in the heart of the vineyards. Seniors and children are welcome, and dogs are welcome. A place of well-being for everyone.

The food here is absolutely fantastic and reasonably priced, too. The service was a bit overwhelmed and unfriendly. The otherwise lovely ambiance is ruined by the poor sound design. The noise level is almost unbearable when there are a lot of guests. But the good food makes up for everything 👍

I was here with my husband on a Wednesday afternoon in late September, and even though we arrived around 5 p.m., we didn't get a table in the first row of the terrace—that takes a fair bit of luck. But nevertheless, we were able to enjoy the view from the second row, even though the sun disappeared sooner than we had hoped. The terrace is beautiful; the canopy of leaves creates a wonderful atmosphere and makes it feel cozy. The food is very well-crafted and tastes excellent! The house wines are also highly recommended. Come early and enjoy.

We spontaneously visited the Altenwegshof again on Sunday with three people. We were lucky to get a free table right by the window. We ordered the meatloaf with fried egg and fried potatoes, as well as the roast beef with fried potatoes and a small salad. Both were divine. It couldn't be fresher, and the portions were generous. The Altenwegshof is also a delight in terms of value; the prices are more than fair. The beer garden is a dream. We'll be back!

We visited the Altenwegshof for lunch on a Wednesday and, even without a reservation, were able to get a nice seat by the window—with a great view. It was pleasantly quiet, just right for a relaxed lunch. The tarte flambée was delicious, accompanied by refreshing Bad Hönninger grape juice. The service was very friendly and attentive. An all-around successful visit.

We've been here before and weren't disappointed again. Super nice and friendly service👍🏽 The tarte flambée and my dish were👌🏽 We ate outside again with a view of the Ahr Valley, and the food tasted even better there😃 The men's/women's restrooms were very clean at the time of our stay👍🏽 We'd love to come back.

A beautiful restaurant right on the Red Wine Hiking Trail. Good wine 🍷, delicious food, and friendly, smiling service. Outside, you can sit in the shade of linden trees with views of vineyards, meadows, and the hills beyond. The interior is light-filled and lovingly decorated. Highly recommended.

I happened upon it on a Sunday outing and asked for a table (with my dog, without a reservation). The food was plentiful and delicious. The small salad with the main course was fresh and plentiful. Dining inside and outside is possible. The staff is friendly and attentive.

We were there today with 11 people after a last-minute reservation. Table reservations inside/outside were no problem! Two super friendly waitresses, who, despite the busyness, were always willing to have a joke, always with a smile, and without stress. Compliments!!!!! The food came quickly, was very tasty and plentiful. Beautiful view from the terrace and a great new ambiance inside too. We will definitely come back again; we and our friends felt very comfortable.

We wanted to stop in after a hike in glorious weather. Naturally, it was very busy and almost everything was reserved, but then a member of staff rudely dismissed us. This is absolutely not how we treat guests!

A fantastically beautiful destination. A place to enjoy

The inn is not recommended on nice days. We had to wait 1.5 hours for the food today on Mother's Day. The staff was completely overloaded, not enough. The schnitzel was good, but the preparation was very poor. A drink would have been on the house while we waited. But the Altenwegshof deserves a second chance. Maybe more stars can then be awarded!

Good home-style cuisine, we were there at the slaughter festival and could only rave about the good homemade blood, brat and liver sausage, the corrugated meat even convinced me even though I'm actually not a fan of it. Serve with delicious mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. Simply good and honest. There should be something like this more often in restaurants.

Either the reviews here are bought, or people have given up the last claim to German gastronomy and capitulated completely. How a rating of 4.5 stars comes about here is not only incomprehensible, but also an absolute mystery. We were there for the "Advent breakfast" and it was clearly between below average and bad. The range of food in the winter garden, which was full of 90s charm, was meager (not even meat, herring or egg salad, nor boiled eggs, no cream cheese, creams, etc.); every Motel One hotel breakfast has a larger selection. Always a long wait for scrambled eggs. The worst thing besides the seating situation ("crammed in" is probably the best way to describe it) was that the food wasn't set up behind a spit guard, so what felt like 200 guests in 70 square meters could really spit all over the food. In the newer guest room even at chest height and with the best spit distance. Great! I will definitely notify the health department here. The air was horrible, it is unbearably loud(!) in the winter garden. The service was too little, disorganized and overwhelmed. The kitchen door was permanently open, something I don't want to see at an "Advent breakfast", then I can stay at home. Only the few but good butcher's products as well as fresh and no baked rolls could save the experience from total disaster. With a lot of goodwill, two more stars. I had imagined an Advent breakfast differently. This was poor at best and is therefore not a recommendation.

Eine sehr schöne Einkehrmöglichkeit nach einer Wanderung durch die Weinberge. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und bedient. Der Koch muss einiges tuen, um ein geschmackvolle warme Küche auf den Tisch zu bringen. Die sehr kleinen Würste zu der Schlachtplatte waren trocken und geschmacklos, das Kartoffelpüree gewöhnungsbedürftig. Wir werden im nächstem Jahr es noch einmal probieren, die Lage ist eben einmalig.

Had dinner there with some former colleagues. Very limited menu, but what we ate was very tasty. It was probably the week of battle plates, some of which you can put together yourself. I treated myself to a schnitzel, a small bratwurst, mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. Everything freshly prepared. It was really tasty. Any time.

On Sunday we returned again with a larger Globetrotter hiking group. Despite two large families with child baptisms, everything worked out very well. The staff is very nice and accommodating, the view of the vineyards is great and the food is extremely tasty and rich.

A nice place to stop off with a winter garden. Coffee and cake delicious. We are looking forward to the summer to enjoy the beautiful beer garden.

I can't say anything negative. The prices were okay, the food tasted very good, the portions were a bit too big in my opinion. The staff was quick and the mountain views were great. Above all, the toilets were very clean.

We were there on a public holiday. The place was totally overcrowded. We had reserved and still had to wait until our table was free. Due to the number of guests, the noise level was so high that it was difficult to hold a conversation. After finally placing the order, we waited over an hour for our food. They are the simplest dishes that have nothing to do with restaurant cuisine. However, the waitresses are very friendly. This restaurant is no longer an option for us and we would not recommend it.

We had a very tasty breakfast with a large selection of rolls, bread, sausage and cheese. There was also scrambled eggs.

Very popular excursion restaurant above the Ahr! Easy to reach on foot from Ahrweiler or Dernau after 4.5 km, but unfortunately also by car or mountain bike... When the weather is nice on the weekend it's very crowded and therefore there are long waiting times to get a table in the shady garden, which can accommodate 80-100 guests! We felt comfortable in the fresh and modern designed guest room. The menu offers regional, hearty dishes at fair prices. The portions are big!! Federweißer €3.50, house wines €4-6 for 2cl, unfortunately that's common today, but in my opinion too expensive for a winemaker! But of good quality! The two young ladies of the house have the rush under control and appear professional. Quite the opposite to the temporary waiters who don't even know how to serve the guests drinks or dishes and prefer to serve them diagonally across the table to avoid a 3m walk! This is pretty close to self-service... Instructions from the Internet could help here. Otherwise we were satisfied, especially with the very tasty gooseberry cake!

Short break with iced chocolate. It was very busy on Mother's Day and we shared our table. Despite there being a lot of guests, the service was quick. Other guests liked to order tarte flambée, which also looked good.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food. But! It takes a while to be served. We waited 45 minutes for our order to be taken. Of course we continue, suddenly only half the order has arrived in the kitchen. No ice cream parlor or ice cream was forgotten...
