A very pleasant restaurant with a beautiful view. It's great that you can serve yourself. The food on offer is simple, but good for hikers who want a break and a good time. The cake is very good, homemade.

Unfortunately, it's not the same as it was a few years ago. It's okay for a quick hike, perhaps with a glass of wine. The view is beautiful! The service staff is unfriendly and disinterested, even though there are signs outside indicating self-service and friendly staff. It used to be different. The food is average.

Absolutely stunning views in a cool quirky little building. Even though did not speak much English, the owners were very kind and went out of their way to accommodate us.

Weingut Försterhof is a renowned wine bar with fine wines, spirits, and excellent cuisine, offering a diverse selection from tarte flambée to schnitzel and a chanterelle mushroom platter. You have to pick up your drinks at the bar yourself, though; the ordered food is brought to your table. The price-performance ratio is excellent. A beautiful day in the Ahr Valley. For that, I give it five stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

The view is very nice. The wines are sub-par. The atmosphere is special (see photo). You have to like it. We didn't try the food.

A lovely restaurant that can be reached on foot or by car. Self-service, reasonable prices, and decent food. Unfortunately, there's no view of the Ahr Valley, but the restaurant itself is a work of art.

Very nice restaurant. Friendly staff. Since it's self-service, it gets a neutral 3 stars. The food was delicious and worth the price. Unfortunately, the wine offered was bland and not very fruity.

A very unique and imaginative design both inside and out. Gaudi was probably the inspiration behind this? Wine tastings, consultations, and sales are also available. Delicious homemade cakes! You definitely shouldn't just walk past this place. See, marvel, and enjoy...

Always simply fantastically beautiful, everything is just right here

I've known the Försterhof for a while. A great wine bar with a striking architectural style. It used to serve home-style food, from tarte flambée to venison goulash, and friendly service. Today, that's far from it. It's all self-service with a snack bar feel. The man at the counter was completely overwhelmed. The currywurst was just standard fare. It's a shame, but we won't be back. There are restaurants that make more of an effort.

Self-service restaurant with a limited menu. The wine shop is unfortunately closed, but wine sales continue. The beautiful location makes it worth a visit, and not just for hikers.

The food was delicious, but unfortunately a bit overpriced. Self-service, perhaps due to staffing issues. 🤷‍♀️ It's a nice place, but unfortunately too expensive for what's on offer. It's said to have been better in the past. Perhaps it will return to its former glory.

Once you've made it up the mountain, you can enjoy this lovingly designed place. The tarte flambée and wine were delicious; we'll definitely be back!

Very friendly, courteous, flexible, and professional, but also relaxed and informal owners, employees, and staff. Even with the new self-service concept, they're still highly recommended!

A wonderful place to linger with a magnificent view of the Ahr Valley. I had a delicious asparagus spread. A beautiful hike from any direction… but also accessible by bike and car. We'll be back. (I managed there even with my crutches.)

Have stopped here several times (approx. 7 times in the last 2 years) on various hikes. The restaurant is quite good, has an interesting architectural style, the food is tasty and the price is OK. The staff there is always friendly and helpful. You don't always get space there that is well attended.

One star is still too many. Super unfriendly. You're not even allowed to sit down for a moment before you buy something and you're immediately shouted at and thrown out.

Once upon a time it was a very good recommendation! Unfortunately, due to the new concept - probably for economic reasons - the good cuisine and friendly service have been lost. It's a shame - we don't have to go there anymore.

Actually a really nice place to stop off during/after a hike. Unfortunately - of course it's a matter of taste - the wine is really "not ours". We haven't eaten here yet, so we can't say anything about it. I'll leave room for improvement and hope to be able to increase the number of stars on the next visit😊

Unusually designed house, strongly reminiscent of Hundertwasser. Great terrace, partly covered with wine, with a wonderful view over the vineyards. A wine shop is also available. The food is a bit expensive, but we still enjoy coming here every year despite the long journey.

Hello everyone 👋 I found out that a long-time employee in the kitchen was simply and suddenly fired on November 30, 2024. I don't think that's how you treat your staff. And before Christmas too?! What kind of people are behind this, I ask myself?

Very comfortably furnished, the food was very tasty and inexpensive.

Nice restaurant, nice view well located. Service friendly. But the price-performance ratio is right not by far. Prices way too expensive. The food is at the limit and sometimes it doesn't taste good. For example the goulash soup: Lots of potatoes in it, hardly any meat. Schnitzel too tough and Drinks too expensive. So the restaurant is no further closed recommend.

The Försterhof winery is beautifully located in the vineyards above the Ahr Valley. In addition to the wonderful ambience, the very tasty food and the courteous service are particularly noteworthy.

Delicious tarte flambée and wine

October 2024 Tetasse stay with a fantastic view. Quiet and relaxing. Polite service, good cuisine. The only small minus, which does not mean any point deductions, is that orders should only be placed with an item number. Maybe work on this a bit and improve it.

I was very disappointed with my visit to this restaurant. The food was simply bad - the dishes weren't that tasty and you could tell that there wasn't much emphasis on quality. In addition, the staff was extremely unfriendly and disorganized. It seemed like they had no clear structure or communication, overall a very disappointing experience. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant.

We have come here many times and admired the architecture, but have not yet had the opportunity to visit the restaurants. Today we had schnitzel and drinks at a fair price. We particularly liked the service and the friendly service. We'd love to come back.

With all understanding for the stressful job - extremely unfriendly service. The feeling of well-being disappears!

Accessible on foot or by car, depending on the weather, you can enjoy a great view on site. The service is friendly and responds to special requests, the food is very good for a restaurant and reasonably priced. You can enjoy it there. There is a beautifully designed outdoor terrace with a great view and also fun designs. Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities have already seen too many guests and should be renovated.

Super unfriendly service, at first you are not served at all, even though it was very manageable, and then very snippy... when I asked for water for the dog, I was answered in a snippy tone, it says back there... me said he doesn't drink from a communal bowl.....yes, and what should I do now....that's not possible, that's why the tip is zero..... Rahmschnitzel is spaetzle and without salad...

Very nice excursion restaurant. An incredibly beautiful setting and very friendly staff. I was there for breakfast on a Sunday. The buffet was extensive and varied.

We've been up here many times, it's nice to sit here, but the prices can now be described as outrageous. E.g. a piece of strawberry cake (€6.50) and 1 cup of coffee (€3.70) €10.20, that's just outrageous. We'd rather leave our money with reputable innkeepers!

The house is interestingly built, but it looks old. The salad consisted of poor finished products. The dressing was below standard, the goat cheese was not declared to be breaded. The prices were still high for the poor quality. We returned the wine because all four of us didn't like it at all and the waitress's reaction was, "Many people call it plürre". Good advice is different and that is actually part of the service. At least she took him back after a short discussion. There are many nice restaurants on the Ahr that you can visit, but we won't stop at this one again.

With our motorhome we were able to stay here for 2 nights with a beautiful view for free. Of course we drank the good wine at the wine bar and also ate in the restaurant. It's really nice on the terrace. We also really enjoyed the food and the service was attentive and friendly. We will be back definitely:)

The view is breathtaking. If the weather is good, I can recommend sitting outside. You should definitely make a reservation on the weekend. We were served in a friendly manner and there were enough helpers who brought the food. However, I find the tarte flambée for €15.50 and the drinks quite expensive.

We have now been to Weingut Försterhof for breakfast three times and will go there again for breakfast. Very large selection at the breakfast buffet. Very friendly staff. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right here. We'd love to come back.

Wonderful wine restaurant in the Ahr Valley, great ambience, great service and very tasty food

Very tasty food in the beautiful Ahr Valley in a secluded location in the countryside, relaxed atmosphere, with a playground for the children. Delicious homemade potato soup, salad plate, selection of vegan alternatives (e.g. tarte flambée with soy cream, vegan ice cream, vegan salad dressing)

We were there to have coffee. For this purpose, 2 types of cake, various waffles, etc. were made. offered. Also good selection of coffee specialties. The building is an absolute eye-catcher because it was designed in the style of the buildings of Friedensreich Hundertwasser. There is also a wine shop in the building. Highly recommended location

It is a surprisingly nice wine and eatery. It is the Efteling meets Lords of the Ring atmosphere. A nice playground for the little ones. And there is a very nice wine shop on site that has something tasty for everyone. Above all, I thought it was a very nice experience.

You can't choose cakes in a refrigerated counter and order a pig in a poke! In addition, the piece of strawberry cake was very small and way too sweet!

Incredibly rude and arrogant. I have no problem leaving €300 for food and drinks in a store but we just didn't order anything here. So incredibly unfriendly 😲 there wasn't even chilled wine to take away in the wine shop.

Nice atmosphere, large and extensive breakfast buffet. It was wonderful weather, we sat on the terrace and the children played in the playground.

For me, the Försterhof is always a great place to go. That's why I highly recommend him.

The food was just bad 😔, the service too. The location is great!

We were passing through and ended up here by chance. I had a great salad, which was more than plentiful, and my husband's schnitzel was also great. Children's paradise and suitable for vegetarians/vegans

The best thing here is the location, the view and the exceptional architecture of the house. I deducted a point from the service because the non-alcoholic wheat was lukewarm. Nevertheless, the visit was an experience. I'll come back and hope for a cold beer. 😉

A little too expensive but good quality and performance

We stop here every year on our hikes in the Ahr Valley. The food is always good. We really like the view of the vineyards from the terrace. The extraordinary exterior of the building is absolutely worth seeing. The staff is friendly and courteous.

For me the coziest spot on the Ahr. Great foresight, good wine and warm hosts. The Ahr Valley is close to my heart and I enjoy coming there every year.

We always like to stop at the Försterhof winery when we go on a trip to the Ahr. Last summer we enjoyed a very tasty, juicy red wine chocolate cake on the colorful terrace & in the gray weather yesterday the homemade potato soup was just the thing. The staff is always very friendly too. We are already looking forward to the next visit :-)

Sehr netter Platz zum verweilen auf dem Rotweinwanderweg.

Schöner Ort zum einkehren. Etwas teurer als anderswo.

Fand ich persönlich sehr teuer. Einrichtung ist wie immer Geschmacksache. Haben nur was getrunken, Bedienung geht so. Gibt ein paar Meter weiter noch ein anderes Lokal, wesentlich preiswerter und freundlicher.

Wunderschönes Restaurant und Weinlounge inmitten der Weinberge. Wie ein Hundertwasserhaus gestaltet in den Farben des Herbstes. Gutes Essen für jeden Geschmack zu akzeptablen Preisen.

Das Essen war nichts besonderes, aber dennoch vollkommen okay. Die Portionen waren ausreichend groß. Wir haben einen Beilagensalat vermisst, wie man ihn normalerweise zu zB Schnitzel mit Pommes bekommt. Das Peronal war sehr nett, zuvorkommend und aufmerksam! Das Ambiente war super! Das Restaurant und die Terrasse sind außergewöhnlich gestaltet, das hat uns besonders gut gefallen. Minuspunkt war für uns der Weg zum Restaurant! Im Internet stand man könne mit dem Auto anreisen, es gäbe genügend Parkplätze. Der Weg nach oben war stellenweise sehr steil und eng! Parken mussten wir an einem Weinberg am Wegesrand, da es einfach nicht genügend Parkplätze gab. Man sollte hier lieber beim Wandern einkehren, statt mit dem Auto zu fahren. Da wir aber mit Kindern angereist sind, entschieden wir uns fürs Auto, würden dies aber nicht mehr tun.

Die Preise sind fair und wir haben nur etwas getrunken. Deswegen kann ich das Essen nicht negativ bewerten. Die Preisgestaltung ist aber sehr gut. Die Aussicht ist von der Terrasse echt toll. Der Spielplatz direkt davor mit dem lauten Kindergeschrei war etwas störend, aber für Eltern bestimmt praktisch. Mehr auf: INSTA: heiko.brs
