Sonntagabend spontan mit einer Gruppe noch Plätze bekommen. Beilagensalat schmeckte etwas nach Fertigsoße, aber das Fleisch auf den Punkt und alle Gerichte wunderbar. Steaks kann hier definitiv gut essen.

Sehr empfehlenswert... Wir waren als Motorrad Gruppe hier, alle waren sehr zufrieden. Auswahl, Qualität, Menge und Preis passen hier. Die Bedienung ist zuvorkommend, Ambiente ist ansprechend und das Lokal ist gut besucht, was für die Qualität spricht. Gerne wieder

Obwohl das Restaurant bis 22:00 Uhr geöffnet ist, wird man ab 20:30 Uhr nicht mehr bedient. Das finde ich leider sehr enttäuschend.

Auf der Suche nach einer Gaststätte zum Abendessen hat man es manchmal schwer in den geöffneten Gaststätten noch einen Platz zu bekommen. Hier hatten wir Glück gehabt und Platz bekommen, zwar nicht mehr in der Gaststätte selbst wo man von der Straße her reingeht, sondern gleich neben ihr ist eine kleine Gasse die noch zur Gaststätte gehört. Dort gibt es Sitzplätze im freien, die sind alle überdacht und man bleibt trocken. Die Kellner muß man schon vorneweg fragen nach freien Plätzen, sonst gibt es ärger wenn man sich gleich hinsetz. Ein sehr gutes Angebot an Speisen hat dieses Restaurant, viel gegrilltes und das ganz lecker. Vegetarier haben hier schlechte Karten. Es ist reichlich was auf den Teller kommt und zu den Preisen ganz okay. Ein Besuch der sich lohnt und wer vorher weiß daß er hier hin will, sollte doch Reservieren. Die Kellner sind übrigens sehr freundlich wenn man sich an die Regeln hält.

Das Essen ist ordentlich, der Service freundlich und gut. Man sitzt ruhig im Innenhof, sieht aber leider nichts von der schönen Altstadt

Ohne Reservierung einen Tisch im Aussenbereich bekommen, obwohl Schützenfest war. Hacksteaks mit Pommes und Salat waren sehr lecker zu fairen Preisen. Der Service wahr auch sehr nett, gerne wieder!

Ich war als Gast in Ahrweiler eingeladen und habe dieses Fleischrestaurant besucht. Der Grillteller mit Rindfleisch und Pute war einfach ein Traum: saftig, perfekt gegrillt, mit einem intensiven Grillaroma. Auch der schnelle Service und die Professionalität des Teams haben den Besuch abgerundet. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder – absolut empfehlenswert!

Das Essen,die Lammsteaks waren hervorragend!

Klare Empfehlung, denn sie wissen was sie tun. Fleisch war sehr gut. Zart und ein kleiner Anteil an Fett. (Geschmacksträger). Würzen kann man alleine, ist auch gut so.

Wir waren zu dritt dort essen, es hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt, die Leber war sehr gut gebraten, das Schnitzel war auch sehr gut, das Cordon Bleu war ebenfalls richtig gut, wir haben überhaupt keinen Anlass zur Klage, der Service war freundlich und aufmerksam, wir werden wieder dorthin kommen……

400g Rumpsteak mit Bratkartoffeln. Hatte das gleiche Gericht letztes Jahr dort gegessen. Mega gut gegrillt, butterzart, Bratkartoffeln sehr gut. Meine Frau hatte ein anderes Gericht und war ebenfalls begeistert. Nur zu empfehlen. Das einzige was evtl. nicht so toll ist, wenn man mit 2 Personen kommt, dass man einen Katzentisch bekommt, der im Abstand von 10 cm zum nächten Katzentisch steht, oder wie anderweitig beschrieben an der Küchentür steht. Kellner waren freundlich, aber sehr lustlos.

Alle Speisen auf unserem Tisch waren qualitativ hochwertig. Vor allem das Fleisch war bei uns allen auf dem Punkt gegart und sehr lecker. Da Restaurant ist sehr gemütlich und lädt zum verweilen ein!

Da gebe ich gerne 5 Sterne. Das Essen ist wirklich toll, schmeckt super lecker. Mein Mann war begeistert vom Steak. Es ist dort gemütlich, Kellner sind sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Das einzige was mich so stört ist das es für Menschen die kein Steak, Rind oder Schwein essen, zu wenig Auswahl gibt, 2 x Gerichte mit Pute, 2 x Gerichte Gemüse ohne Fleisch und mit Pute, leider auch keine Fischgerichte. Es wäre schön wenn man etwas mehr Gerichte hätte auch mit Pute, Hühnchen, Fisch..denn nicht jeder will nur Salat oder Pfannkuchen.. Das war das einzige was mich gestört hat. Sonst waren wir super zufrieden. Nette Bedienung..Sehr zuvorkommend. Was noch zu erwähnen ist auch der Preis ist super... Sonst muss ich sagen war das Essen Gemüse mit Putenstückchen, super super lecker. Gemüse war sehr gut gekocht nicht zu weich..

I must have been at a different restaurant, or I was just unlucky. The food, service/friendliness, and atmosphere there were completely different from what's described here. What I found particularly outrageous was that after paying, I briefly went to the restroom, my beer glass (which wasn't very full) had been removed, and the table had been reset.

Delicious food and lovely owners :) Even though everything was reserved, we were still able to eat there for a while; it was a spontaneous visit. We'd love to come back! 👍🏼

A star-studded sky for food, staff, facilities and prices

We were a group of 20 people. We felt very comfortable and the food was tasty, but for example, someone ordered a grilled schnitzel and received a grilled steak. The senior's plate was overloaded, and the mushroom cream schnitzel had a whole sliced ​​mushroom on it (and there wasn't nearly enough sauce). Then it was time to pay. The food was paid for in one lump sum, and everyone paid for their own drinks. No record was kept of what had already been paid. After the woman who had already paid returned from the restroom, the staff tried to collect payment again, but immediately assumed that she had already paid when they told her.

Absolutely lovely, we had a super fresh salad, Kalbsleber with fried onions and Bratkartoffeln mit Speck, schwiener medallions with potato croquettes and steamed vegetables. Great service, with a smile!

Delicious food in the old town of Ahrweiler.

The cream schnitzel comes from the frozen food aisle of the supermarket and tastes just like it. Compared to 1.0 before the flood, the overall impression is worse, including the service.

We had the grill plate for 2 people. Lots of food! The meat and the vegetables were really good. Lots of different wines, only a few simple not special beers. No attention from the waiters. The place is not really cosy and we saw ducttape here and there. I guess they still need to fix things after the floods. Overall OK but nothing special.

The three of us went there for a special occasion. It's located in the pedestrian zone. The ambiance is classically beautiful, and the staff is very attentive, considerate, and friendly. The food is delicious. We were very satisfied with everything, and if we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely eat there again.

We stopped in spontaneously and were lucky to get a table for two. The servers were all very attentive and friendly. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, making it difficult to choose because everything sounds so good. My partner and I wanted to share the breaded Camembert for starters. Considering the attentive service, we each got half a Camembert with pear and cranberries. For my main course, I had the house special and asked to change the side dish, which was no problem. I also got some mushrooms with my dish because I mentioned that mushrooms would also go well with it. There was no extra charge for the mushrooms. Back at the Ahrweiler wine festival, this time we made a reservation and it was truly perfect, definitely recommended if you are in Ahrweiler. Excellent steakhouse, everything was reserved during the wine festival, but a table for two was still arranged. Price-quality ratio: Top

The food was tasty. The service was friendly. The ambiance is a bit dated. The entrance is a bit hidden.

Nice ambiance, cozy, and an inviting outdoor area in the backyard. Unfortunately, the food is disastrous. Sadly, there's an obsession with putting something that once had a pulse into every (!) dish. Meat, meat, meat with meat. Even in the "salads," according to the menu, tuna, turkey steak, or turkey steak strips (wtf?) are unsuitable for vegetarians and forgive the vegans. There is exactly one (1) dish that consists of (a really small) Camembert, which could at least be vegetarian. The menu itself lists meat under "salads and vegetable dishes." Paired with these "dishes," there are medium to high prices for frozen vegetables, the usual warm-up croquettes, and, of course, plenty of meat. Shockingly backward for 2025.

We were there for lunch on March 9th. Because everything inside was reserved, we sat in the garden. The 3 stars for the ambiance refer to the atmosphere outside. It could have been improved. A bit of color, some soft music, and a bit of coziness. So, that's it for the mild criticisms. The service was extremely fast and genuinely friendly. The pre-meal salad was very fresh and delicious. We had a 200g steak and a grill plate. The fries were made with clean fat, the meat was medium-cooked and cooked to perfection. My grill plate was very generously filled and definitely worth the price. After paying, we were offered a "schnapps on the house." Unfortunately, we drove there from a long way away, so there was no alcohol. We will go there again, but definitely make a reservation. The people do a very good job. We went there again after making a reservation by email. Nobody knew anything about the reservation; we were told to make a reservation by phone. What's the point of the contact form if no one looks in? Luckily, there were still enough seats available for us. The food and service, as always, were excellent. The salad before the meal was simply delicious. Both meat dishes were very well prepared. We'll be back.

The restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel. We were welcomed in a friendly and hospitable manner. The menu is nicely extensive, plenty of choice. The portions you get are more than great. But it is so delicious that you need a schnapps for dessert. 🤭 😉.

On June 20, 2025, we happened upon the Niederhutklause 2.0 while strolling through town and were very attracted to it. So we spontaneously chose a table and studied the menu. We ordered two of the grilled plates, once with fries, once with a side of vegetables. The salad that came first whetted our appetite, and we were not disappointed: the meat (chicken, pork, beef, and a strip of bacon) was grilled to perfection, juicy, tender, and very tasty. We skipped dessert. A delicious espresso rounded off our visit to the Niederhutklause. We can recommend this restaurant without reservation: pleasant ambiance, very attentive service, and very, very tasty food, all at reasonable prices.

It was quite good. However, I missed the selection of vegetarian dishes.

Four of us spontaneously stopped by on Sunday. Friendly service. The food was very tasty and varied. Everyone was satisfied. I would recommend it and would gladly return. We had the seniors' plate and the portions were just right.

We're regular customers and are extremely satisfied with the service. The meat from the lava stone grill is tender and practically melts in your mouth. There are also vegetarian options. Overall, this is the best restaurant in the area. ☺️

I ate there on Monday. The waiter was friendly and accommodating. The food came quickly and was very tasty and plentiful. I had the house pan special. It was good value for money. We weren't offered any schnapps by the house, but neither were any other guests who were in the restaurant at the time. I read in another review that it would be nice if it were either all or none.

We really enjoyed it. We were there for dinner yesterday and had a lovely seat in the courtyard. The food was very good, with a champignon schnitzel and a pirate platter. A little more sauce would have been nice. Prices are reasonable, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Afterward, we had a house schnapps. We'd be happy to return.

Had dinner there yesterday (5/10/25). My wife had bacon pancakes (delicious) and I had a 400gr. Steak with fries and a small side salad. Price performance great!!! Last week I had steak at El Gaucho in Cologne, an absolute disaster and the meat didn't come close to that from Niederhut Klause. Especially since I don't have to pay extra for fries (6.80 euros!), herb butter, mayo, etc. like in Gaucho. This is all included in the price. Very good!! The guys who served us were very accommodating and very, very friendly. We were thrilled and will definitely eat there again on our next trip to the Ahr Valley. I can only absolutely recommend it!! The food is tasty and the portions are very sufficient. However, the prices are very high. We were satisfied, but the previous restaurant in Bad Breisig was a class better. I can only recommend the restaurant to a limited extent.

Very tasty, I had schnitzel with champions and my wife had lamb chops. Both were very tasty. Service was very accommodating. At the end there was a Clibowitz and a Julischka. Thank you, very nice evening.

In your defense: we were greeted with the words “4 times Ahrtal menu?” It started: instead of a camembert, we were served a mixed Gouda. Especially on toast and a very small portion. The dessert was a lava cake, which I can't say anything about because I didn't want to eat it anymore because... The MAIN COURSE (!!!) was such a disgrace that I can hardly put it into words! The fries were half raw, the turkey meat in your mouth was like a desert, the beef was of the cheapest quality. The blood ran onto the plate even though it was cooked through! The pig was still somewhat OK. I only ate the champions, which were pretty okay. During this I sat in front of an empty glass for 15 minutes! 2 stars for the service because they gave me a round of schnapps afterwards and I got 30 euros back. Were there for the first time with 4 people and never again! I'm sorry but I've never seen anything like that in my life!

I went there twice for the first time a few months ago and was very impressed with the quality of the steak and the service. Unfortunately I can no longer say that after my second visit. I ordered the rump steak (300g) and what I was served was shocking. The steak was light in color, as if it had been precooked rather than fried, and was overcooked; I ordered it medium rare, but received it well done. Waiter service remains unchanged. Still world class The atmosphere in the restaurant was good, even though we didn't have a table reservation. They found a free table for us under the tent at the back.

We had dinner there yesterday. Space outside on the terrace, great with a heater. Service very attentive and friendly, dog gets water immediately. Food and wine excellent. Meat excellent and fried to perfection. Nice waiters! At the end there is a nightcap on the house. A successful evening. Gladly again.

We were there on Friday 2/21/25 and ordered a menu. The starter, baked Camembert on toast - delicious! The main course - 3 different pieces of meat - very tender and tasted perfect; the rest of course too :) For dessert there were chocolate cakes with a liquid center, ice cream and cream. The service is friendly and accommodating. We definitely recommend it!! We would love to come back.

I really don't write reviews often, but I just had to do it here... we were here today to celebrate a birthday and had steaks. This was by far the best, most tender and simply amazing meat I have ever eaten. Thank you very much, we'll be back

We were there today with 7 adults + 3 children. Everything was fine. Everyone's food was perfect and incredibly tasty. The service was extremely attentive and you never had to wait long for drinks. Conclusion: Tastes like more! See you soon ;)

We had a very tasty meal here. The waitresses were attentive and friendly.

We have previously been guests of the old Niederhuthklause and this year we booked version 2.0 (out of necessity). The booking was made in April 2024. When we arrived, we were checked in by the “patron” without asking and the answer was that we were wrong and had booked outside. Outside temperature was 5 degrees. After this was clarified, we were assigned the “cat table”. Extreme corner, directly at the tap counter. The food itself was "SUPER", but the service was unsatisfactory/minus. Even though our glasses had been empty for some time, no one asked if we would like to order anything else. Surrounding tables were cleared and customers were asked whether they would accept a nightcap on the house. We had to speak to two people from the staff to even be able to pay our bill. The “patron junior” appeared, cashed and left. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!

We were in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler for five days and came across the Niederhutklause 2.0 restaurant by chance. We received a very friendly welcome, the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. We were both thrilled with the food, everything was very freshly prepared and super tasty. When we are in Ahrweiler again, the Niederhutklause 2.0 is our first address. Good and honest cuisine - keep it up.

We spent a business evening in this restaurant and were lucky enough to get a nice table in the bay window. The food was above average and the steaks were grilled to perfection. The service that evening was also very attentive and friendly. An absolute must for steak lovers! I give this a full five stars!

Typical German cuisine in a quite central location. The staff was absent, slow and distracted. We literally sat approximately 20 min before someone would even notice us and give us the menu. The dishes had no soul and you immediately forget about the taste.

We sat outside. It was very warm (+33°c). Luckily we made a reservation, all tables outside were otherwise occupied. Food was simple but tasted good. Large portions.

We knew the restaurant from before the flood. Coming back there was perfect. The most delicious mushroom cream schnitzel and Schaffhauser schnitzel. Came super quickly. Very friendly service staff. Nice beer garden. What more could you want? Clear recommendation. To be on the safe side, make a reservation. Word gets around about quality at good prices.

A cozy, well-kept restaurant with outdoor terraces directly on the street and in the courtyard. We found the food surprisingly good. The young service team is not yet perfect, but is very lovable and helpful. We were there with a larger group and everyone enjoyed it. It's worth a visit.
