Cozy restaurant with delicious food and the parrot 🦜 Carlos

If you like something hearty, this is the place for you. It was cozy and great service there. The food was more than plentiful, unfortunately I didn't manage to eat everything. The price is right too. The parrot is so cute. But it's better to reserve a table in advance, as it gets very crowded. Parking spaces in front of the gas station ⛽️ 😋

I would like to recommend this restaurant. The catfish was very tasty and my wife also liked the trout. The food was beautifully prepared and the serving staff were very attentive, friendly and personable. We would be happy to come over for dinner again. We felt very comfortable here. By chance we found a free parking space right in front of the restaurant and that's how we became aware of this restaurant.

We stopped by spontaneously and were lucky enough to get a seat in this great restaurant. The waiter was very friendly and the food was great. All employees were very attentive without seeming intrusive. Here you can get good German cuisine and the portions and the prices are great. A great extra is the parrot that belongs to the restaurant, which here and there puts a smile on the guests' faces.

The food was delicious and the amount on the plate was above average so that everyone was full. Definitely a 10/10 experience and worth a visit.

I would very much like to describe this place as outstanding. The food is of very tasty quality and the prices are very reasonable these days. A place where you feel comfortable and it's not just the cockatoo that contributes to this, but also the very courteous and friendly staff. Should we be in Waren again, this will be the first address where our dog (poodle) was also welcome, as in many restaurants. Thank you for the lovely evening.

The right choice would be happy again

Unfortunately we are absolutely dissatisfied. It was very cold and drafty in the seating area. Tomato soup first appeared to be a slightly different Bautzener from a jar. The turkey meat with tagliatelle was far too dry and completely salty. Then there was a smoked pork sauce with the turkey schnitzel and the steak with seasoned meat was also very tough. Finally, the fries, some of which were very soggy. Sorry, but not recommended. We won't eat there again.

All-round carefree package. The food was tasty, the prices were acceptable and the service was friendly, all in a nice atmosphere. We'd love to come back.

Never had such a great steak and at a great price. The store was also really great, especially because of the parrot that doesn't leave its place and flies around the store.

A top location can only be recommended. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly, open and very welcoming. Price performance top. I have never eaten such a delicious steak as I did there. Now a must for us when we are in Waren. We've been there for the 6th time today and we always try a different dish and are thrilled with the great taste and the super generous portions. Simply delicious!!!!!! The owner and her team are such warm people that we feel very comfortable there.

My companion and I had an excellent meal there. There are dishes for every taste and the portions are generous. What's special about the cockatoo? who sits on the bar in the restaurant.

We have been here quite often and when we are in Waren it is currently our first address. It's always delicious and the prices are right. However, it is advisable to make a reservation, otherwise it might be impossible to get a table, especially in the evening.

There were six of us eating. Everything tasted very good. The cashier was very good. The fish was also great.

The pork tenderloin was very dry and the turkey steak was the same. The store wasn't very busy, so you'd expect a little more in terms of quality. Any third-year apprentice can cook the food, speaking from experience after 15 years as a chef. I expected more. Service was good.

We were very happy with the dishes. Delicious fish dishes, fresh and very good quality. Also very friendly staff. And the in-house cockatoo was adorable and funny. You should reserve a table in good time.

The restaurant was recommended to us by the Tschu Tschu train driver and we were very enthusiastic. Prices were between 15-20€ and the plates were well filled so that you were well full. Each of the 4 of us had a different dish and there was nothing to complain about at all. A small highlight was the cockatoo Carlo, who moves around freely there. Gladly again, on your next vacation. ☺️

It was just bad.....the pike perch and shrimp were fried to death and the metitare vegetables were overcooked and greasy. The ambience is zero. We had to wait far too long for the drinks, not to mention the food. This restaurant was always recommended to us but we were just disappointed 😞 and it was so loud and uncomfortable. Sorry once and never again

Reservation seems required. The smoked pork pan was very good, but the turkey steak with tagliatelle was unfortunately a bit too dry. Otherwise a nice evening. The stay time was limited in advance to 1.5 hours. Unfortunately I can't say whether it was just day tickets.

Good value for money, good food, nice service despite being “front row” The only small comments: Soljanka tasted a bit artificial/sticky, and the spiced meat is served in puff pastry, a little different from the standard.

It was perfect here and the portions were extremely large, tasty and very cheap.

Price/performance is okay, no profit. There is a children's menu and even the possibility of having a normal meal as a children's menu. The restaurant has a large white parrot that you can even pet. Personal note: Matjes fillet is outstanding!

Great food, inexpensive, cozy restaurant

We found the restaurant through Trip Advisor. There wasn't too much promised, the service was super friendly and, above all, the food was simply great. The children's menus are small so that they can be managed and the portions are sufficient for adults. My recommendation is the fish platter, which is also something for people who are reluctant to eat fish, like me :) You won't regret a visit here.

The food (plaice) was very tasty

We were here for the first time. The food is really delicious and fresh. We had the herring with apple cream sauce and fried potatoes. That was very good. The service was very nice and friendly. The prices are okay too, there's nothing there. The ambience and especially the cockatoo “Carlo” is simply great. As a tip, if you want to eat here in the evening you should make a reservation in advance and not spontaneously but at least a day in advance. Otherwise you won't get a table anymore. We got there around 3:30 p.m. and still had plenty of space to choose from We can only warmly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely come back again.

Even though we didn't make a reservation, we were allowed to dine there. We ordered a small starter salad with orange dressing. Yummy. Afterwards there was fish and sour meat. Both absolutely recommended. Price performance is also great and the service is very, very friendly. We will be happy to come back

Das Lokal hat einen schönen hellen Saal mit Blick aufs Wasser, es ist sauber und einladend, der Service freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen ist frisch, wenn auch - für meinen Geschmack - in der Zubereitung zu fad. So kann man im Bärlauch- Zander allenfalls einen zarten Hauch an Bärlauch-Aroma in der Sahnesauce an den Nudeln erahnen. Hier wurde wohl an der außerhalb der Saison teuren Zutat gespart.

We (couple in our late 30s) went to the old gas station twice this summer. The food (potato and pasta dishes with fish/meat, warm vegetables) was very tasty. "Like Grandma's :)" Large portions, reasonable prices. The ambience is quite nice. Big windows. The staff is very friendly. The highlight is the cockatoo that lives in the restaurant and lets you pet it :)

Some like it, others don't. I'm definitely one of the others! The food was more bad than good, good to fill your stomach but nothing more. Absolutely not recommended. The furnishings may have been original decades ago, but to be honest, they really don't bother anyone. The fact that another bird is being passed around would perhaps fit in with the liquor corpses on Malle. Sorry, but a new setup would be more than appropriate.

I was able to celebrate my 60th birthday there in April! I have to say that everything went great from start to finish! The food was just as well received by my guests as we had planned in the preliminary discussion with the boss! The service also left nothing to be desired! All invited guests also liked the fact that the restaurant was open longer than usual! So many thanks again to the entire team for the lovely evening! So full marks from my guests and of course from us too!

We were on vacation in Waren/Müritz and so we went to this great restaurant on Mother's Day and birthday. Luckily we had reserved beforehand! No wonder with the great offer.🏆 The chosen meal with three excellent types of fish & hearty fried potatoes, tasted great. Big praise to the kitchen team🥇 Fast and friendly service, a mascot for everyone, a beautiful and unusual image. Thank you & a recommendation is 👍🏻 sure!

Kleines niedliches Restaurant am Rande der Altstadt. Sehr kurios eingerichtet mit einem lebenden Papagei namens Carlo. Das Essen war sehr lecker und reichlich. Da das Restaurant sehr klein ist, sollte man unbedingt vorher reservieren, wenn man abends dort Essen will.

Hello first of all, we were there at the weekend to eat. Having to wait an hour and 15 minutes for two meals and then the horror came! The fish was fried very dry, the fried potatoes were black and placed with the burnt side down so that you shouldn't see it. We continue with the Ossi Steak meat very dry, fries not cooked through. At least the beer was cold and freshly tapped. The service was very friendly and attentive, as was the boss. The kitchen staff/cook Constantly goes to the entrance to smoke instead of worrying about the food. Take a good picture in front of the door! Unfortunately not again!

Highly Recommended. Unfortunately I took a photo of the plate too late. In the end everything was eaten 😊 and that was not a little. We will definitely come back again. We each shared the cheat skewer and the hearty mock fillet.

We had to wait a very long time for our food. I was very disappointed with my meal. The gravy just tasted like thick gravy without any flavor. The schnitzel was ok but the vegetables were also tasteless and I didn't like it. We won't come again.

Pictures and actions speak louder than words... Excellent food and great value for money! Stayed there for 5 days and ate 3 times in the “Old Gas Station”. No other restaurant we visited in Waren was as good! Next time we're on holiday in Waren we'll only eat there!

Absolut zu empfehlen. Sehr gutes Essen, toller Service. Und der hübsche Papagei passt absolut da rein. Reservieren sollte man allerdings, denn die Gaststätte ist immer gut besucht.

Uns wurde das Restaurant empfohlen. Nachdem wir dann auch die guten Bewertungen gelesen haben,war klar: es muss gut sein. Leider wurden wir etwas enttäuscht. Aber das positive vorweg: der Service ist wirklich super! Das Ambiente lädt zum verweilen ein. Das Essen war solide und gut. Mehr leider nicht. Der Zander und auch das Putenfleisch war trocken und hatte keinen Geschmack. Die Beilagen waren lecker,aber nicht herausragend.

Alsooooooo... Das Essen, Service und Preis/Leistungsverhältnis waren wirklich SUPER! Die Portionsgrößen waren für den Preis wirklich sehr gut! Man ist sehr gut Satt geworden! Geschmacklich war mein Essen soweit auch gut, das der anderen kann ich leider nicht Beurteilen, aber beklagt haben sie sich nicht. Das einzige was ich wirklich zu bemängeln habe, für Dicke (so bezeichne ich mich!) Sind die Tischbeine etwas nahe beieinander. Aber das ist meckern auf hohem Niveau und auch nur da gab es einen Stern Abzug (Ambiente). Am besten ist der Papagei der dort rum wackelt 😅 So, eine ganz klare Empfehlung um dort Essen zu gehen!
