Great location and service, but the food could be improved. The Kolmenhof mountain inn definitely impresses with its rustic atmosphere. It's a classic, cozy Black Forest restaurant, perfectly located for visiting the source of the Danube and St. Martin's Chapel. The surroundings alone make it worth a stop. Regarding the restaurant visit: The service was truly outstanding – the staff was very friendly and attentive, making me feel immediately welcome. The food: Unfortunately, the kitchen didn't quite live up to the experience. I had the trout fillet with potatoes for €24.50. For this hefty price, the quality was disappointing: The fish was, unfortunately, a bit too dry for my taste. The presentation was very basic and uninspired (the fish was simply placed next to plain potato halves). Conclusion: The location at the source of the Danube is beautiful, and the staff is excellent. However, the current food doesn't offer the best value for money. A trip to the spring is highly recommended, but I would be more cautious with the food next time.

The steak was perfectly cooked and served with a delicious salad. However, the hash browns were frozen convenience food. Therefore, one star is deducted.

We waited quite a long time, even though it wasn't busy. I ordered the "large" pizza for an extra €2.30, and it was the same size as a regular one. It tasted and looked like a pizza from a kebab shop. The salami was awful, and the eggs were blue instead of yellow. As a restaurant with a large Italian staff, it's pretty sad to put up such a performance. Definitely not again. The pizza Frutti di Mare had a whole shrimp and mussels with the shell on, making it difficult to eat.

Good traditional cuisine. Nice little restaurant. Would gladly return.
