Rancid fries and disgusting currywurst weren't worth the money. A rip-off.

We (family with children) were thrilled during our visit. Of course the prices are adjusted to the fantastic surroundings, but everyone should be aware of that if they go out to eat with a view of the cathedral on the Spree :)

Service and ambience were fine. Wine selection Open wines could be fresher and of better quality.

Unfortunately, we had to wait 25 minutes for our order to be taken, and the Coke was completely non-carbonated. The waiters seemed very disorganized, even though the bar wasn't overly busy, and they couldn't operate the ATM at all. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it.

The beer is bad, carbonated and sour. The coffee tasted like it came from the worst machine. The cake is ok. The potato soup is ok. Terrible service. We waited 15 minutes for someone to come and then a long wait. Overall, I don't recommend it.

Lunch was not recommended. Very small schnitzels (mini) at high prices, and the food was completely cold when it was first delivered. The second time it was served the food was warm. The innkeeper tried to save the situation with rum, water and cake ice cream, but a bad aftertaste remains

They charged me 4 euros for a glass of tap water and 8 euros for two small Coca-Colas. I complained and they told me that it was the policy of the company and the manager, this is theft.

I was very happy with my visit to this cafe. The atmosphere was relaxed, the staff was polite and very nice and prices are fair.

It was already clear to us that you can't expect much in tourist bars close to sights. But we had to rest a bit, so we went inside. We were greeted and served in a very friendly and helpful manner. The coffee was good, the apple strudel was a tiny, narrow slice that could hardly stand upright. All of this at the capital city price, of course.

SCAM Errors on the order, inflated prices compared to the menu, “forced” tips and terrible service. Run away.

I can only agree with the other bad reviews. We ended up here with three kids and asked for a table in the corner (because of the kids). The answer was no, we should sit in the middle of the room, after all you have to have your children under control. Price/performance (or size) of the drinks are a joke, the latte macchiato came in a small water glass. I haven't experienced such bad service in a long time. Fortunately, there are plenty of alternatives in Berlin.

Very, very intrusive reception from the owner himself. Before we were allowed to sit down, we were pressured to walk past the cake counter. Unfortunately, drinks are not recommended at all. We had cocoa and homemade mulled wine - really underground. Kaiserschmarren also looked very indefinable and tasted like ready-made dough. The waitress (blonde) was the only nice thing here.

Incredibly bad-tempered service. Service extremely bad. We sent the food back because it was a) cold and b) old. The waitress wasn't interested. No soap or towels in the toilet, no one was interested in that either when complaining. This store is absolutely NOT recommended!!!!

I have never experienced such bad behavior from the waiter or the owner...First we were cheekily asked for a TIP...but the tip was this: while I was breastfeeding my baby, the same gentleman came to me and told me when he interrupts me while I'm breastfeeding,"I should hide somewhere else in the back because it's not pleasant for other people to eat them"... First of all, no one saw me and secondly, you couldn't even see anything..For It was the first time I've experienced something so embarrassing with 2 children... We would never visit this store again and we wish this gentleman could be friendlier to his customers, but that's probably impossible. Such cheeky behavior isn't acceptable in public. ...And please don't write me an answer. I see in the comments that what I experienced has already happened to other customers in this store. The food was very, very tasty but the best thing was the service. Polite, quick and very accommodating. Any time!!!!!

The worst service received, horrible food and pathetic attention

I was seated friendly and quickly in the beer garden with a view of the Spree. The original Munich white sausages Brez'n were delicious. The price was reasonable. The service was fine.

Service sent us away in English because we weren't allowed to sit under the roof in the shade. When I explained that our little dog was very hungry and we didn't want to sit in the sun, she told us to go to another restaurant. The Vietnamese waitress didn't speak German.

A real scam! It's a pity that I can't give 0 stars to it. To start, the waiters are unfriendly and rude. The food is bad and expensive. And then, we get to the great scam of the place: the have on their menu a bottle of still water from the Spree for 8.90€. What was our big surprise when they brought a glass bottle filled from the tube!! They charged us 8.90€ for the water... from the tube!! Incredible! If I have to say something positive, it would be the place. It is nice and it has great views of the Dom and the Museuminsel, that's all.

One star because I have to put something. A scam for the tourist. We ask for water and they give us a tap from the tap for €8.90. Two minutes after ordering, we tell them that we finally don't want water and before serving it they tell us that the order can no longer be modified. I have never felt so cheated in my life. We asked an old lady who served us if we could order in English, she said yes and then very rudely she started talking to us in an aggressive tone because she didn't understand us and shouted at us to read the letter where it wasn't written what we asked for and left without explaining anything. A very unpleasant experience that made us leave without consuming anything.

We were inside for 10 seconds. We walked in and asked the man at the entrance if we could grab a drink and use the bathroom. They told us something in German and I politely told them in English that we didn't speak the language and could I repeat it. Then the man responded in English in a violent and impatient tone, "you have to order first!" We turned around and left. Now I understand the terrible reviews of the place and why it was so empty.

I needed to go to the toilet, I asked them to go, offered to pay or buy a drink. They didn't let me in, all the staff came out to point out to me that I don't have the right to enter here and use their toilet, it's their private property. Terribly disgusting and unpleasant people, it's terrible that it's so in the city center. 0/10

We couldn't even get in. Before going through the door one of the waitresses said 'not here, the bathroom is for customers only'. We were thinking of eating there and of course we left scared.

I have never had such a bad experience. Bad food, bad service. I ask them to charge my phone for a while and they say no. My partner goes to the bathroom and puts it on hold for a little while. The waiter enters the ladies' bathroom and without saying a word disconnects the phone. Horrible experience. At least that the Spaniards who go to Berlin know it.

The dry currywrust, the minimal treatment, you ask them to charge your cell phone and they don't let you and not only that, but you charge it in the bathroom and a guy comes in and unplugs it... Not a bit of politeness... A 0 dealing with customers

I went today, August 2, 2024, at 6pm. I was "robbed" and the waiter didn't give me my change back because I paid in cash...it seems to me that tourists are not welcome! 👎🏻

What a scam, we ordered a beer, which we had to take from the fridge and pour ourselves into a glass, and on top of that when we paid they sneaked in the tip!! What a tourist trap…

We sat down at a table of four in the shade at lunchtime when it was 32 degrees. There were still a lot of tables available. The cards were then taken out of our hands and told we had to go to a table of two, but there were only two of them and both were in the sun. Apparently you would rather have no one sitting there than just two people. We then spent our money elsewhere

€4 for a cup of still water for the dog, so in a nutshell one beer and dog water is €10. Staff are unfriendly (particularly the bald, larger sized man) and seem anti-tourist. Don’t recommend at all

Beautiful location on the Spree, ideal for watching the never-ending stream of people. Cappuccino very good, apple strudel worked like that, but there is no whipped cream, just vanilla sauce, difficult to understand for a cafe. Very nice service. Second review after 4 years (July 2024): I cannot understand the many negative reviews. We were only there for a small snack (salad, potato soup), everything tasted good, the waiter was originally nice. Location is of course great.

Unfortunately no service No waiter comes for 10 minutes then you want to go in to go to the toilet sxhon the owner comes and throws one out. Very unfortunately i was on last Sunday in this restaurant . The food was very very bad. I got 2 allergy attacks one hour after we left the restaurant and i had to stay in the hospital for two days. All the reviews written here about the bad quality of the food are totally true. It could already kill me. I am not allergic to any of ingredients in a pizza and i have pizza so often. But when the ingredients used in the food are stale and have a bad quality it happens. I am pretty sure there was something wrong also with the wine. On top of everything, this guy in the picture forced us to pay 4 euros as a tip. As i objected that, he became very aggressive and he started to insult us and belittle us. He said you have to pay the tip overall in berlin. I told him i live in berlin for 10 years and there is no such a rule. Then he replied i dont think you live in berlin and as i said i live in the Center, he started teasing me trying to show me with his behaviour that i am a low class person. He also threatened us that next time when we want to go to a restaurant we have to check everything in advance !!!! I tried to find the manager to complain about his behaviour . Some guy from India introduced himself to us as the manager and then the aggressive guy came in and was shouting at us and the manager too. The manager just told us sorry sorry and nothing more . When i red this whole reviews here which are dated 2 weeks back and i see that this guy with his awful attitude is still working there , so i can just conclude that this is all planned by the owner of the restaurant and they do this hand in hand. Otherwise he has done something against this guy. I will write an official complaint about this restaurant in next days before someone gets hurt there by this awful food. But please please please do not go there . You will be treated im a very bad way and you get a food that might kill you .

Really bad food, and long wait time. When I went there the food tasted worse at McDonald's and was extremely overpriced. I got a schnitzel brotchen and it was 7.90 euros. That is absurd. Along came nothing with it but dry salad, a cheap bread, and really dry, plain, untsteful chicken. When the server gave me my food it was cold and I asked to heat it up. 5 minutes later it comes out of the oven and it's lukewarm. Great use for an oven!! I really could've gone to McDonald's and gotten a better chicken sandwich for under 3 euros.

If it was possible to put -1, I would do it. The waiter refused to give us an extra spoon to stir our cocktail 😂🤦‍♀️He was very unkind and ruined our mood!

Snack platter for two people costs 31 euros and consists of two dry pretzels, two dried-out slices of pumpernickel and two cold, almost impossible to peel and tasteless white sausages. Unfortunately, we saw the recessions too late. Once and never again. Rhubarb Spritz in a water glass doesn't make any difference either. Only the facility on the Spree was good...and one lady out of three people from the service was friendly.

The location is great! We sat outside in good weather. The service is friendly and attentive. However, the food is below average. Unfortunately the prices for both food and drinks are high so I cannot recommend this restaurant.

The waiters are great at ignoring people! Shortly before we wanted to leave in exasperation, the order was taken. Our butter pretzels came out very dry, and as we walked past the extremely unfriendly waiter pointed out the "butter side". 1 teaspoon of hen butter in the pretzel for €3.50. You have to do it first. The lady was very friendly.

I actually just wanted to go to the toilet and I also offered to order something to drink. I was told I had to sit down first, order something and only then could I go to the toilet. DO NOT GO HERE. The place you get attacked of you are not German. The food is made from the cheapest ingredients and not tasty and all. And the service is awful. All the commenters with 1 stars here were SO SO RIGHT. Food. They offer an Antipasti option with Turkey, capers, ruccola and tomatoes under the tuna sauce (as mentioned in the menu) - in a reality it was just the cold cut of turkey type of ja! From Rewe, under the sauce, so you cannot even see it when they bring the dish (and need to touch it so you cannot return it ). The amount of tomatoes, capers and Rucola you can see on the picture by yourself. That costed 15€ in this place. To say that this is overpriced - is to say nothing. The net cost of it is max 5€. Service. After I get such an „Amazing“ food I sit around 15 minutes with an empty plate and none of the waiters came to ask how was the food or if I wanted to pay. It was my lunch time at work so I didn’t have a lot of time to wait, I just went to a person and politely asked him if I can pay with a card. We walked inside of the restaurant and I have chosen no tip option - let’s be honest, neither food nor service worth tipping here. He asked me if everything was ok and I didn’t want to offend him so I just sayed „yes“ because I wanted TO LEAVE this place AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, after such an « experience ». After that he aggressively sayed „so why no tip“ - not polite at all. I told him „because I waited too long“. And started to leave this place. He followed me. At the door 2 waiters came (more than were ever near me during the whole visit) and both of them including the manager who followed me to the door starting to scream at me. „You should have called us, you should have screamed or waved your hands to us“ - I do not feel that either of that is an appropriate behavior in the public places, but this restaurant had quite specific culture so here it’s normal, I guess. The waiter started to scream at me “I was walking around and I cannot read your thoughts” . The manager said “ so now we should read the thoughts of Ukrainians” - it came from nowhere. I was not mentioned my nationality and why would you do it if you go to the restaurant? Why is it even matter at all…as long as you are not a nazi - it doesn’t. It was attacking discrimination based on the nationality he assumed from my accent in German & yes, I do speak German freely as I live here 8 years already, the whole conversation was in German. I specifically wrote this review in English so NOT A SINGLE TOURIST come to this place and avoid being attacked based on « not being German » Hiring an underskilled waiter who cannot spot when the customers finish the food and come in time - is a simple mistake, but keeping a manager, attacking the customers based on their nationality, screaming at them and waving hands close to their faces - it’s not a mistake - I t’s a company policy. The manager scream at me that i have offended him - and that is by saying that the service was bad (which, in fact, i never did, what i said was « I waited too long ») not in single legal case it can be treated as an offense. There is a line between the offense and objective critics - not here tho. He cannot explain why is that an offense, told me I should leave and sayed me “bye” in Russian. After knowing I’m Ukrainian - in the current political situation it’s an obvious demonstration of a degrading behavior based on the nationality. Atmosphere. The restaurant in a touristic place is managed by a person, attacking people based on nationality if they don’t want to tip him . The atmosphere is not just the location - it’s what your personnel make of it. It’s the experience customers get after visiting the place. And in this case it’s just terrific. Inappropriate personnel choice can destroy literally any location and make from a nice restaurant - a total disaster. People is everything. But not in this place. He screamed when I was leaving - « that’s not customers we need ». You ain’t deserve any tho.

Nice location, but not good service. We ate a small snack there in the afternoon, namely the Berlin currywurst. The fries that came with it were really substandard in quality.

View of the Spree is ok, I can buy food from Aldi myself, the service is ridiculous, no one has to explain to me what currywurst looks like, not recommended, I'm really disappointed!!!!! NEVER AGAIN When it comes to cocktails it's just sad.

Got 2 drinks and they tried forcing us to pay for a tip, this is optional not mandatory, when challenged this man was very rude, it’s not my job to pay your wages. If you don’t like your pay you are a grown man get a job that pays you what you want. Will keep standing up to dosers like this.

Tourist trap, avoid! Attracted by the location on the terrace, we went for lunch. The curry wurst is pitiful on the plate, the sausage salads are grated knackis, the carafe of filtered tap water is 10 euros!! Impossible to check the bill before paying (the waiter refused to give it to us saying that we would have it later, of course we didn't get it!!), he added the service himself on the terminal of payment . Frankly, to avoid there are lots of small restaurants 10 minutes walk behind, we were clearly fooled.

Central place next to Museum Island, therefore, hunting for tourists who don't know where to go. It is a VERY EXPENSIVE restaurant for what they offer. We ordered a typical dish: the German "milanesa". The dish cost 22.50 eu so we understood that it would be something very delicious. Don't fall for entering, it's a trap to get the tourist's quarters!

The furnishings and certainly not the food have anything to do with the Alps. Luckily there are many tourists who don't notice this.

Very expensive place with little variety. A schnitzel with some fries for €22 is an abuse to say the least. The place is well located and clean but not advisable for the price and what it offers.
