Almanqel Grill Restaurant in Hannover

2nd visit in June. Service was unfriendly and unwilling. The perspective and attitude for the job were missing. Communication was difficult due to poor language skills. You felt unwanted. With more attentive staff, the place would be a better place, and I was the only customer. The food was OK. Nevertheless, it was my last visit. It is more pleasant to linger in a company canteen. Update June 2025. The spatial renovations are good for this restaurant. Very high noise level - TV and open windows. Pure street noise. Service was abysmal because the waiting staff hardly spoke German. There was nothing to complain about the food. Impeccable and tasty. Generous portions and inexpensive. July 2024 The food was consistently good and plentiful. The staff do not understand German. You could only order after asking the manager. When you paid the expected bill of 12 euros according to the display board, it was suddenly 17 euros. I pointed to the price list. It is old and out of date. I would have preferred rice instead of fries. When I ordered, I was asked whether I wanted rice or fries, but there was no mention of rice being more expensive. I didn't stress about it because it was really good. BUT, it was an issue on my previous visit, too. Unfair business practices. CONCLUSION: I won't be coming back, even though the food would be worth it.

Very disappointing – not a fair TooGoodToGo offer I ordered twice today from this restaurant via TooGoodToGo and paid a total of €9. According to the description, the portions are each worth up to €27 – but that's not at all what I got. I only got some rice with a small portion of vegetarian sauce – nothing else. No meat, no vegetables, no side dishes. In the restaurant, I can clearly see that there are many different dishes available – including plenty of meat. There are several dishes in the display at the front, and at the back, fresh doner meat is being cut right from the tip and grilled. But I still don't get any of it – just plain rice with sauce. That's extremely disappointing. For the same price, I could have prepared a really good meal myself at Lidl – for example, €3 for rice and €3 for fresh vegetables. That would have been much better, fresher, and fairer. This kind of offer doesn't reflect what TooGoodToGo is all about. Unfortunately, I absolutely don't recommend it. Original review remains at the top I described my experience during my visit objectively and honestly – and unfortunately, that wasn't a fair or value-based TooGoodToGo offer. If the description promises a product value of up to €27 for two portions, then I expect to be served more than just plain rice with a little sauce – especially when it's clearly visible in the store that there are plenty of other dishes, meat, and side dishes available. As a customer, I have the right to point out grievances – especially when promises aren't kept. Even more disappointing, however, was your reaction to my criticism. Instead of seriously addressing the feedback, you gave an inappropriate and, in my opinion, disrespectful response. Constructive feedback should not be devalued – it serves to improve and is an expression of honest customer experience. I hope you will reconsider how you handle such feedback in the future and take criticism seriously.

Unfortunately, our food was unhygienic – there was a hair on the meat. This is absolutely unappetizing and should not happen in a restaurant. Even though the taste was basically okay, we couldn't eat the dish for hygiene reasons. We hope that more attention will be paid to cleanliness and care in the future.

A simple restaurant. The food takes you back to the past, to our family’s homes. The prices are reasonable. The staff are as if you were inside your family’s home. The hospitality is nice, and God willing, I will return to them again.

We wanted to try the Iraqi dishes and heard a lot of praise about this restaurant. We tried the Pacha; the taste was delicious but unfortunately the outer layer was like rubber. So we didn't really enjoy the meal even though the rice and meat were tasty. Also the bread they bake in front of you was great. Please pay attention to the mentioned problem.

For 5 euros, too good to go. All restaurants give you a lot or at least something modest. From them, I took a box of beans and bread for only 5 euros, no rice, no meat, nothing else. It is now ten o'clock at night and there is no cayenne, which means the last time I buy from them.

Selten habe ich solch eine hervorragende Erfahrung in einem Imbiss gemacht. Das Essen im irakischen Grill Imbiss war einfach ausgezeichnet. Jeder Bissen war eine Geschmacksexplosion, die meine Geschmacksknospen erfreute. Die Gerichte sind nicht nur unglaublich lecker, sondern auch erstaunlich preiswert, was das Gesamterlebnis noch besser macht. Die einzige kleine Unannehmlichkeit war die begrenzte Parkmöglichkeit. Jedoch wird dieser Nachteil durch die äußerst günstige Lage direkt an der Straßenbahn Haltestelle Goetheplatz ausgeglichen. So ist die Anreise absolut stressfrei. Der Imbiss selbst ist zwar klein, aber unglaublich gemütlich. Die orientalische Atmosphäre verleiht dem Ort eine besondere Note, die mich in eine andere Welt versetzte. Der Duft und die Aromen des Essens trugen zur Authentizität bei und schufen eine Atmosphäre, die ich sonst nirgendwo gefunden habe. Insgesamt kann ich den irakischen Grill Imbiss wärmstens empfehlen. Wenn Sie nach einem Ort suchen, an dem exzellentes Essen, einladende Atmosphäre und vernünftige Preise aufeinandertreffen, dann sollten Sie definitiv vorbeischauen. Ihr Gaumen wird es Ihnen danken!
