An exceptional experience from beginning to end! In this upscale Italian restaurant, our every need was truly anticipated. The staff was incredibly attentive, warm, and professional – we felt completely at ease and in excellent hands. We were particularly impressed that the kitchen team even prepared a dish from scratch because we had something different in mind – without any discussion, simply with a smile and genuine understanding of the guest. Such service is truly rare! The food was fantastic: fresh ingredients, perfectly balanced flavors, and beautifully presented. Add to that the elegant, stylish ambiance – simply perfect all around. We will definitely be back and can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant!

The service was okay. We ordered five main courses, all of which were cold, very small, and tasteless even after adding plenty of seasoning. The price was far too high for what we were getting.

Excellent fine dining Italian food

Extremely original, delicate pasta. Behind the "tortelli filled with braised beef, refined in jus and Parmigiano-Reggiano foam and truffle" lies a true flavor bomb. Also: fantastic antipasti. Great fish. Fine Italian cuisine at the highest level.

This is the best truffle pasta I have ever had in Frankfurt. The whole pasta is covered with truffle sauce. It is great.

The food in the restaurant was really good and of high quality – we spent our anniversary there and were looking forward to a special evening. Unfortunately, it was severely marred by a very unfortunate situation: When making the reservation, I had specified roses as a special request. Instead of the restaurant stylishly preparing this or coordinating it with me in advance, a stranger, inappropriately dressed, suddenly appeared during the main course and handed me a large bouquet of roses. He then demanded money from me right at the table. The bouquet wasn't fresh, and the price was negotiated spontaneously – a very unpleasant and completely inappropriate moment for an upscale restaurant. This kind of situation shouldn't happen in a restaurant of this category. Transparency about costs and appropriate organization of requests would have been a given here. It's a real shame, because from a culinary perspective, the evening was actually a success.

The space is truly beautiful and very stylish, and the service is courteous. The Italian dishes all have a tempting flavor, and the cuisine is very diverse. I'll try a few more dishes, as there wasn't anything particularly outstanding this time. Thank you

Delicious food, great location and great ambience

After our visit on Friday evening, I have to say that the food, especially the recommended starter platter, was very good. However, we weren't so satisfied with the service. Serving the side dishes first and then the steak ten minutes later is completely unacceptable. Occasionally, orders like espresso were forgotten, even though the place wasn't too busy. I also found it a bit noisy inside. For prices like these, I expect more.

A place with a modern and elegant Italian atmosphere. It has outdoor seating and is located opposite the Opera House, which provides an excellent view. The service is excellent, with friendly staff. We ordered burrata and spaghetti with shrimp. Along with the bread basket, they served black olives and butter.

The restaurant has a large outdoor area, right next to the opera. The staff was attentive and friendly. The food was good, but the portions were rather small. The appetizers are recommended.

Very slow and unfriendly staff. Food was okay.

Disappointing experience. It was far from fully booked but the food took 1,5 hour to be served out. While serving out it was unclear if the plates were actually for our group so those who had food were asked to wait with eating until the confirmation was done. This took 15 minutes with the result that the food was cold. Just a simple sorry. Food portions were very small and taste was disappointing; for example 1 (larger) piece of Ravioli for 30 euro's and lamb meat was not prepared well. Desserts were tasty and good though!

We have eaten dinner with 4 people based on good google reviews but we were disappointed on the quality of the food. The location and atmosphere of the restaurant is good. The service was good except the waitress serving the drinks which was a bit annoying. We had three appetizers; aubergene, octopus and carpaccio. Aubergine was really good but the rest was not tasty and way too expensive for the size and food quality. We also had 4 main courses and nobody liked it. Especially Tortelli di Manzo al Tarufo (€31.90) was not tasty, came cold and very small in portion. This is a place that we would not go again for sure.

We were at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, where lots of people were partying and there were several drink stands. I ordered a Lillet with berries, but they gave me a grapefruit one, which I didn't want. And they charged me €14, including the deposit, which was absolutely overpriced for something that only had a few drops of alcohol in it... and for the wrong drink. The staff were also unfriendly and completely ignored my warning. No apology, no replacement, nothing. I felt really ripped off and not taken seriously. Very disappointing; I will definitely not buy anything from this stand again.

One of our dishes was forgotten, so one of our friends did not get any food. They didn't even said they were sorry. They acted as if nothing has happened. We waited too long for the food. Pretentious and disappointing place. We will not visit again.

I wanted to try Alfios because of the high reviews, but unfortunately, it was rather so-so. The "truffle" in the truffle pasta consisted of small black dots; you could barely taste it. The service was very inattentive, even though the restaurant was quiet at that time of day. The location is very nice.

Dear owners, I always have the feeling of throwing up while passing by your restaurant. ( twice a day ) There’s a horrible smell, i don’t know what exactly but it should be the kitchen, smell of heavy oily stuff. I have to write it down. Hope you will notice. Best

I can't understand the positive reviews at all. We were assigned a table. The used napkins from the previous guests were still lying on these. This was the same at the neighboring table. You had to wait forever, from the starter to the main course. Above all, you had to ask for everything. The waiter knocked the fork out of my wife's hand as he walked past. The starter (tuna tartare) was ok. The tiger prawns (50 euros) were partly raw and tasteless. The noodles were a disaster. We asked the basement about it. A quick sorry and that he'll let you know in the kitchen. It should also be mentioned that he then decided to buy two desserts on the house. But even there, some of the chocolate souffle was unfortunately still cold. Tiramisu was ok. In a nutshell, this has nothing to do with service and gastronomy and it could hardly be worse. We are disappointed and won't be coming back.

food very good; Service not satisfactory!! We were in the outdoor area, which was 60% occupied. The interior is also occupied at 60%. The aperitifs we ordered came 15 minutes after the starter was served. The main course was sent about 1h15 after the starter. This distance is definitely not OK. To be honest, we thought there would be no more food. Plus it was already 9:20pm!! I gave the service staff a nice hint that quite a bit of time had passed. He promptly replied "We have 2 large tables". To be honest, I asked myself, what do they do when the store is 100% full? What was also incomprehensible to me was that no one noticed our empty glasses. We would have liked to have had another glass of wine after the aperitif... Even the head of the house, Giuseppe Greco (he was present that evening), probably doesn't have an eye for it. Like the rest of the staff, he preferred to chat with "regulars" at other tables. The good food was "broken" by the poor service. Therefore tip 0€!! In total we paid €143.50. 1x starter, 1x pasta, 1x fish, 2 Campari Spritz, 1x bottle of water. Well, we were there twice in total. The first and the last time. Let's go around the corner to Meyer. There you understand how gastronomy works.

The food was ok but the waiter was rude.

The food was good, but the rest of the experience was a disaster. A waiter led us to the table, another rudely told us that we should leave because the table was still being set. We then sat at the table without a place setting. The patio heaters kept going crazy. When setting the dishes, the cutlery was not placed neatly and straight. It took forever until a waiter took the order... my dish came, but my partner's didn't. Even after 10 minutes it wasn't there! Don't understand how you market yourself as an upscale restaurant but then fail to follow basic principles of gastronomy. Well, the plate was brought, but it was the wrong dish. After confusion on the part of the waiter, it turned out that the dish we ordered had been swapped with a neighboring table and the lady had already eaten our order. So we were asked if we just wanted to keep the wrong one. There were two situations where a waiter came to us with a plate and asked if the order was ours - it wasn't. We also observed the same thing at neighboring tables. This raises questions about whether there is a system for how orders are taken. The lady who ended up eating our dish had another plate of main course put on the table while she was eating. She let him go back with the comment that she obviously already had a full plate in front of her and was just about to eat. Far too chaotic for me and an uncomfortable atmosphere due to all the furniture being moved around. Add to that the fact that one waiter doesn't know what the other is saying and we were initially turned away from the table very harshly... that can't compensate for the food in the overall rating.

A fantastic restaurant in the heart of Frankfurt. Excellent service and haute cuisine. The food isn't cheap, but it's absolutely worth the price. We were there on a Saturday. There was live music and a music school (around 25 young people) who came to visit late in the evening were included in the songs. Top! We'd love to come back.

Despite arriving very late after the Tina Turner concert at the Alte Oper Frankfurt, there was still very good food to round off the day. Thank you very much for the taste experiences. We'd love to come back!

The food was excellent, and the location was incredibly peaceful. We sat outside and enjoyed the sun. It is right across from the Opera House, so it is in a beautiful location.

Great Sicilian restaurant with really good food and courteous service.

One hour waiting to get seated it is not a joke. Why do you take a reservation if your not able to seat your guests with a reasonable waiting time. No need to review the food if the customer experience is terrible from the beginning waiting ages to get seated...come one!

The food is not good and not authentic either. Ordered pasta and you could just tell that the clams weren't cleaned properly. If you make a mistake like that with pasta, I don't want to know what the other dishes taste like. Dessert is ok and the wine menu has better ones. It's better to save money than to eat at a place like this. The Paparazzi restaurant in Frankfurt is better. The Italian snooty waiter was also annoying and unpleasant. If you do the job with passion, you don't beg for tips. The restaurant was really bad by Frankfurt standards and there are more authentic and delicious places located downtown.

The food was such that you thought the chef was probably on vacation. The truffle fries were cold and soggy. There were three of us, all the food was cold or lukewarm and at most justified the price of a mediocre Italian restaurant and not the high Alfio prices - in relation to the relatively poor quality. The salmon was ok, the tuna too, but the lobster pieces in standard noodles were overcooked and hard, the tomato sauce tasteless. The salad dressing for the small. Salad was too sweet and not tasty. We had to get used to water prices of EUR 9 elsewhere and the wine was rather flat for the price. The service tried hard, but far from being courteous or correct, it was hectic and very robust. It's a shame, we would have been better off at a restaurant further ahead.

Italian food at a very high level!

Maybe just had a bad day. After we sat down it took 10 minutes. until we were asked for water. At least 5 minutes later we were given the cards. Another 10+ minutes. we were asked about food and drinks. Both wines on the menu were not available. Starters just about ok for the price. Main courses of pasta with lobster (unseasoned and lukewarm), salmon and tuna were ok, but below average given the requirements. Tartufo fries a disaster for €20. Dessert simple quality. Service corresponds to the quality, you are also used.

Additional note after posting: the restaurant reached Google to try to delete this review as it wasn’t positive. Their reasoning is that it was a calumny (?!). Had to reach Google to reactivate this review as they had originally accepted their claim and canceled my review. I find this behavior absolutely unacceptable, my review only reflects the reality of my experience. I can imagine they are doing this to multiple reviews as the number of reviews is very small and mostly positive. To the restaurant owners/managers: The problem for you are not the people that decide to visit you and spend their time sharing their experience in google or other platforms. Those are your clients not your enemies. This is a very dirty behavior.

Alfios not only offers classics, but also a good selection of vegetarian dishes - fresh, creative and extremely delicious. Plus attentive service and a cozy atmosphere. Absolutely recommended.

This was the worst experience in Frankfurt. The staff member was extremely rude. We went in to get a coffee, and initially they said they could make it. However, after we were seated, a server came and informed us that the coffee machine was not working. Even when another server brought the coffee we had ordered, they were told to take it back to the kitchen. This seemed to be solely because they didn't approve of our attire. I will never come back.

For the first and last time... After a stroll through the city, my girlfriend and I wanted to grab a bite to eat and we decided on this restaurant. I ordered grilled vegetables. I got 5 strips of zucchini, the thickness of which looked like it had been cut with a vegetable peeler, 4 slices of aubergine a la Gummiadler (you can't prepare aubergine any worse) and 2 strips of 1cm red pepper, garlic oil on top... done... .. Cost 15€. The price wouldn't have been the problem if the whole thing had at least tasted good and the eggplant had been edible.... the waitress was unimpressed by my complaint when paying, but I still paid the full price. The rest of what we ordered was also rather so-so. Unfortunately that was nothing..... We definitely won't be coming back again

Rip-off restaurant. Not recommended. Prices have been driven extremely high. Zero taste. They can't even make a cocktail properly. The staff can't even speak German properly and baffle the guests with the Italian language. Stay away from this restaurant.

Alfios at the Alte Oper far exceeded my expectations! The fish I ate there in particular was a real taste experience. The flavors were perfectly balanced and the presentation on the plate was artful and inviting. The atmosphere of the restaurant exudes elegance and calm, which made the evening a real highlight. The service was outstanding - professional, warm and always there when you needed something. For this extraordinary experience, I give Alfios five stars without reservation. Highly Recommended!

Very solid Italian food and friendly service

The restaurant impresses with a lot of style and class. The elegant ambience creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, which is perfectly complemented by the tasteful furnishings. Every aspect, from the excellent service to the delicious, authentic dishes, demonstrates high quality and attention to detail. A visit here is a real treat for all the senses.

After a Sunday evening concert at the Alte Oper, we wanted to celebrate the end of the concert season with dinner and a glass of wine. Despite many negative reviews, the three of us booked. You should never listen to reviews! Excellent, perfect dishes at a later hour, excellent recommendation of an open Sicilian white wine, delicious postre. Plus an incredibly friendly, reserved service and a pleasant atmosphere in every respect. That certainly wasn't the last time.

Modern and elegant restaurant with beautiful outdoor terrace like an olive garden. The menu consists Italian classics dishes like Vitello Tonnato (full of flavours and beautiful presentation) or Linguine alla Carbonara (tasty, creamy and perfectly seasoned) and also modern dishes like Tuna Tartar (accompanied by a excellent tomato mayo) or the amazing Dover Sole fillet (perfectly cooked with an amazing sage sauce). For desserts between the usual Tiramisu and Panna Cotta you can find Cannoli (filled with a sweet ricotta cheese and candied oranges peel) and the traditional Cassata from Sicily (sponge cake with cheese and candied fruits covered in a sugar glaze). The wine list is extensive with a lot of choices from Champagne to Franciacorta and Methode Classique to wines rose, white and a lot of reds (most of them from Italy but also some international options from France, Spain and US). We decided to start with Ferrari Perle a Trentodoc vintage 2017 with a very fine but persistent perlage, elegant and harmonious taste and a peach and almond nose. After we took the “Nova Domus” from Terlan a Pinot Bianco cuvee with a Sauvignon nose and a Chardonnay body, a straightforward white with flowers ans fruits aromas, complex and structured with a fresh acidity finish and long aftertaste. The service friendly and cordial but professional and very attentive. Overall a very pleasant experience. Highly recommended!

We had dinner in this restaurant found by chance after an opera concert and it was a real surprise; first positive note, even though we arrived after 10pm (late time even for Italians), no one made us think about it in the slightest; the staff was extremely kind and welcoming and the place was very well looked after and elegant. In all this, the thing that struck us most was the cuisine, nothing to envy of the best Italian restaurants in Italy. Personally I took some paccheri with artichokes and bacon where each of the individual ingredients from the pasta to the cheese sauce were of excellent quality and combined perfectly with each other, without exaggerating one of the best pasta dishes I have ever eaten (and I'm Italian ☺️) I will carry that dish in my heart ❤️. Highly recommended. As for the prices, they are displayed very honestly at the entrance so there are no surprises and honestly, even if it is not a cheap restaurant, the value for money is certainly excellent. Oh and by the way all the waiters speak Italian so it's great for those who can't speak German or English. One of the very kind waiters, chatting with us for a few minutes, explained to us that the same group of restaurants (family-run) also include three other restaurants in Frankfurt: - Four - Rustic Restaurant - Greek We haven't been to the others but we are sure that if this is the "company" standard we can be on the safe side.

Top service, nice ambience, the decoration sometimes seems a little playful. The food is of great quality and the presentation is simple but appealing. All the dishes we ordered tasted great, and the selection of desserts was extensive from our own pattesserie. The only point of criticism (at a high level) is that the lamb was a bit tough and could have been cooked a little more. Conclusion Alfio's is worth a visit👌🏻

The Alfios is of course located at a hotspot. But the prices are acceptable and in addition to the Italian classics, the menu always has a few original Italian delicacies on the menu. The wine list is well stocked. A Doran Chardonnay Riserva from South Tyrol went well with the weather on the outside terrace under the cherry blossoms, as well as the salmon.

So the place looks great. Ambiance fits. However, I didn't find that the prices were reflected in the taste of the food. I had linguine with clams that I found too oily and a bit lukewarm. Then a chocolate soufflé. Very fattening and a little too sweet, but that's probably a matter of taste. 16 euros for a glass of wine is too much for me personally. However, if you don't care about money, you'll definitely find an opportunity to eat something here before the opera

Very nice evening, amazing service. I was not the biggest fan of the tuna steak, as it wasn’t exactly what I expected it to be. But the wine, predish and dessert were amazing. The restaurant is very cosy and has a really nice, calm atmosphere for a great evening.
