This was the worst experience in Frankfurt. The staff member was extremely rude. We went in to get a coffee, and initially they said they could make it. However, after we were seated, a server came and informed us that the coffee machine was not working. Even when another server brought the coffee we had ordered, they were told to take it back to the kitchen. This seemed to be solely because they didn't approve of our attire. I will never come back.

For the first and last time... After a stroll through the city, my girlfriend and I wanted to grab a bite to eat and we decided on this restaurant. I ordered grilled vegetables. I got 5 strips of zucchini, the thickness of which looked like it had been cut with a vegetable peeler, 4 slices of aubergine a la Gummiadler (you can't prepare aubergine any worse) and 2 strips of 1cm red pepper, garlic oil on top... done... .. Cost 15€. The price wouldn't have been the problem if the whole thing had at least tasted good and the eggplant had been edible.... the waitress was unimpressed by my complaint when paying, but I still paid the full price. The rest of what we ordered was also rather so-so. Unfortunately that was nothing..... We definitely won't be coming back again

Rip-off restaurant. Not recommended. Prices have been driven extremely high. Zero taste. They can't even make a cocktail properly. The staff can't even speak German properly and baffle the guests with the Italian language. Stay away from this restaurant.

Great atmosphere, delicious food and top service

Alfios at the Alte Oper far exceeded my expectations! The fish I ate there in particular was a real taste experience. The flavors were perfectly balanced and the presentation on the plate was artful and inviting. The atmosphere of the restaurant exudes elegance and calm, which made the evening a real highlight. The service was outstanding - professional, warm and always there when you needed something. For this extraordinary experience, I give Alfios five stars without reservation. Highly Recommended!

Terribly slow service. Clearly understaffed and takes ages to order, get drinks, food, ask for anything… Food is just okeish. Can’t recommend it.

The restaurant impresses with a lot of style and class. The elegant ambience creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, which is perfectly complemented by the tasteful furnishings. Every aspect, from the excellent service to the delicious, authentic dishes, demonstrates high quality and attention to detail. A visit here is a real treat for all the senses.

After a Sunday evening concert at the Alte Oper, we wanted to celebrate the end of the concert season with dinner and a glass of wine. Despite many negative reviews, the three of us booked. You should never listen to reviews! Excellent, perfect dishes at a later hour, excellent recommendation of an open Sicilian white wine, delicious postre. Plus an incredibly friendly, reserved service and a pleasant atmosphere in every respect. That certainly wasn't the last time.

Modern and elegant restaurant with beautiful outdoor terrace like an olive garden. The menu consists Italian classics dishes like Vitello Tonnato (full of flavours and beautiful presentation) or Linguine alla Carbonara (tasty, creamy and perfectly seasoned) and also modern dishes like Tuna Tartar (accompanied by a excellent tomato mayo) or the amazing Dover Sole fillet (perfectly cooked with an amazing sage sauce). For desserts between the usual Tiramisu and Panna Cotta you can find Cannoli (filled with a sweet ricotta cheese and candied oranges peel) and the traditional Cassata from Sicily (sponge cake with cheese and candied fruits covered in a sugar glaze). The wine list is extensive with a lot of choices from Champagne to Franciacorta and Methode Classique to wines rose, white and a lot of reds (most of them from Italy but also some international options from France, Spain and US). We decided to start with Ferrari Perle a Trentodoc vintage 2017 with a very fine but persistent perlage, elegant and harmonious taste and a peach and almond nose. After we took the “Nova Domus” from Terlan a Pinot Bianco cuvee with a Sauvignon nose and a Chardonnay body, a straightforward white with flowers ans fruits aromas, complex and structured with a fresh acidity finish and long aftertaste. The service friendly and cordial but professional and very attentive. Overall a very pleasant experience. Highly recommended!

The food was good, the location was of course great, but it was also way too expensive for Frankfurt. The espresso was really only a few drops and the cup was filled to a maximum of 25 percent

We had dinner in this restaurant found by chance after an opera concert and it was a real surprise; first positive note, even though we arrived after 10pm (late time even for Italians), no one made us think about it in the slightest; the staff was extremely kind and welcoming and the place was very well looked after and elegant. In all this, the thing that struck us most was the cuisine, nothing to envy of the best Italian restaurants in Italy. Personally I took some paccheri with artichokes and bacon where each of the individual ingredients from the pasta to the cheese sauce were of excellent quality and combined perfectly with each other, without exaggerating one of the best pasta dishes I have ever eaten (and I'm Italian ☺️) I will carry that dish in my heart ❤️. Highly recommended. As for the prices, they are displayed very honestly at the entrance so there are no surprises and honestly, even if it is not a cheap restaurant, the value for money is certainly excellent. Oh and by the way all the waiters speak Italian so it's great for those who can't speak German or English. One of the very kind waiters, chatting with us for a few minutes, explained to us that the same group of restaurants (family-run) also include three other restaurants in Frankfurt: - Four - Rustic Restaurant - Greek We haven't been to the others but we are sure that if this is the "company" standard we can be on the safe side.

Top service, nice ambience, the decoration sometimes seems a little playful. The food is of great quality and the presentation is simple but appealing. All the dishes we ordered tasted great, and the selection of desserts was extensive from our own pattesserie. The only point of criticism (at a high level) is that the lamb was a bit tough and could have been cooked a little more. Conclusion Alfio's is worth a visit👌🏻

The Alfios is of course located at a hotspot. But the prices are acceptable and in addition to the Italian classics, the menu always has a few original Italian delicacies on the menu. The wine list is well stocked. A Doran Chardonnay Riserva from South Tyrol went well with the weather on the outside terrace under the cherry blossoms, as well as the salmon.

Nice restaurant. Spacious layout. Pleasantly lit. A bit pricey, but the friendly and very attentive service and the tasty dishes make up for it. Played-in team. Very extensive wine list.

Service is top, the waiters are very friendly, serious and yet relaxed. The food is a bit overpriced and the shrimp was sandy but the risotto was still good. The prices match the location so you can't really complain.

There is nothing wrong with the service or the food. Even when it came to dessert, I listened to the recommendation. When I replied that it just wasn't my taste, another dessert was immediately brought to me. Which was heavenly by the way...

I am very enthusiastic about the restaurant! The prices are high and not intended for those on a budget, but they are justified by the beautiful ambience, the fabulous food and the incredibly friendly and courteous waitresses and waiters. I'm definitely going back!

Dear owners, I always have the feeling of throwing up while passing by your restaurant. ( twice a day ) There’s a horrible smell, i don’t know what exactly but it should be the kitchen, smell of heavy oily stuff. I have to write it down. Hope you will notice. Best

Very nice evening, amazing service. I was not the biggest fan of the tuna steak, as it wasn’t exactly what I expected it to be. But the wine, predish and dessert were amazing. The restaurant is very cosy and has a really nice, calm atmosphere for a great evening.

So the place looks great. Ambiance fits. However, I didn't find that the prices were reflected in the taste of the food. I had linguine with clams that I found too oily and a bit lukewarm. Then a chocolate soufflé. Very fattening and a little too sweet, but that's probably a matter of taste. 16 euros for a glass of wine is too much for me personally. However, if you don't care about money, you'll definitely find an opportunity to eat something here before the opera

Service and employees were so bad.

This place is horrible at serving food. They couldn’t bring our dinner in more than 2 hours. This has no excuse and they should be ashamed of their service. We left this place hungry after 10.30pm without any idea where to eat. We do not recommend this place to anyone, period.

I have to say so much about this restaurant because it was the worst experience in my life. Even though I had a reservation, a table was not reserved for me. My food order arrived 2 hours after I placed the order. The waiters were talking like they were kidding. I thought I wasn't treated like a human being. Also, the taste of the food was terrible. I think it is a place that should definitely not be visited. Don't ruin your night. I think the comments are fake and it is not a place that deserves this score.

Even two hours after ordering, our food did not arrive. When we asked the waiters where our food was, they turned us off. We were not satisfied at all.

First time here. Waiter's name was Enzo and took great care of us. While expensive, I think you get what you pay for. Food was very delicious and wine selection was great. I'll be going back.

Excellent place. As a high end restaurant it is good value for the price. We had the black pasta with shrimps. Recommended. And the Tiramisu had to be awesome.

Es hat uns ganz toll geschmeckt, Austern sind besonders so lecker gewesen, dass ich noch 2 Stück nachbestellt habe. Rieb Yey war ganz saftig und genau auf der Punk abgeschmeckt. Wie sind voll und ganz zugreifen gewesen und 2-3 Kellner war immer neben uns und haben genau auf uns aufgepasst und alles rechtzeitig serviert. Ambiente ganz stylisch. Preisklasse entspricht der Lage. Alles top.

Das Alfions ist entsprechend der Top Location in Frankfurt ein hervorragendes Restaurant mit Blick auf die Einrichtung und das gesamte Ambiente. Das Personal ist freundlich, lässt sich aber zwischendurch meiner Meinung nach etwas zu viel Zeit für Anfragen wie dem Wunsch zu bezahlen oder nochmal etwas zu bestellen. Die Trüffelpasta waren schön serviert und geschmacklich herausragend. Der Espresso sehr ausgewogen. Kein zu säuerlicher Geschmack, der auf das zu schnelle durchlaufen des Wassers durch das Sieb hindeutet.

Sehr schönes, anspruchsvolles Ambiente. Besonders außen ist es im Sommer sehr schön mit Blick auf die alte Oper. Das Essen war sehr gut Schwerpunkt Mediterrane Küche! Das Personal ist sehr bemüht und professionell! Schnell, freundlich, kompetent! Preise sind gehoben aber für die Qualität angebracht.

Italienisches Essen auf ganz hohem Niveau! Das Restaurant hat eine hervorragende Qualität und liegt direkt im Herzen der Frankfurter Innenstadt. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr herzlich und sehr aufmerksam. Ein besonderer Dank an Giuseppe!

"Mehr erwartet" würde ich sagen, nach dem Erstbesuch im Alfios. An einem Abend unter der Woche war das Lokal sehr schwach besucht, was wohl zum einen am vielfältigen Wettbewerb in unmittelbarer Nähe und den Preisen liegen dürfte. Das Essen war in allen Belangen gut, aber nicht großartig. Da das Lokal zu Carmelo Greco gehören soll, liegt die Messlatte aber eben auch entsprechend hoch. Der Service war stets aufmerksam, hat es aber etwas an, sagen wir mal "Herzlichkeit" fehlen lassen. Die Aufforderung an unseren Tisch nach einiger Zeit uns auf das "Bestellen zu konzentrieren", anstatt auf einen ausgelassen Plausch mit Freunden, kam dann doch etwas kühl rüber. Handwerklich und geschmacklich war alles einwandfrei, es hat lediglich etwas der Überraschungsmoment gefehlt, was wir aufgrund der Preise erwartet hatten. Das Ambiente ist hervorragend und auch der Außenbereich einladend.

Auf der Rückfahrt von Straßburg nach Hause haben wir in Frankfurt Halt gemacht und spontan im ALFIO's zu Abend gegessen. Unglaublich, wie authentisch italienisch alles war... Von der Bedienung, dem Essen und dem Ambiente. Alles sehr persönlich und sehr nett. Das Tiramisu schmeckt wie das Familienrezept von Sophia Loren. 💕💕 Hat uns sehr gut gefallen.

Bestes Material, perfekt zubereitet. Cooler Service.

Zum Team Meeting ist das mein Lieblings Hotspot. Das Ambiente ist toll und Giuseppe unser Kellner immer super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Gerne speise ich immer die Jumbo Garnelen und den Hummer mit etwas Beilagengemüse, mittlerweile wird mir das zubereitet ohne das ich etwas erklären muss. Der Geschmack ist toll und der Fisch ist sehr frisch. In der Theke gibt es eine große Auswahl und mein Partner und ich sind uns einig, wir stoßen gerne unseren Wein dort an. Selbst zur Mittagszeit, SALUTE.
