Tolles italienisches Restaurant mit exzellentem Service und sehr sympathischer Bedienung. Man fühlt sich sofort willkommen und bestens betreut - schnell, zuvorkommend und passender Beratung zur Speisekarte. Kulinarisch bewegt sich das Alfios auf einem erstklassigen Niveau, besonders hervorzuheben sind die Fettuccine Alfios: Die Pasta war perfekt auf den Punkt al dente gegart und entwickelte ein beeindruckendes Geschmackserlebnis. Die feine Pistaziensauce umhüllt die Pasta sanft, ohne zu dominieren, und bildet eine elegante Basis für die Garnelen (klasse Qualität!) – ein ebenso harmonisches wie raffiniertes Gericht. Auch der schöne und stilvoll gestaltete Außenbereich mit ausreichend Abstand zwischen den Tischen überzeugt. Klare Empfehlung! Wenn wir in Frankfurt sind, ist das Alfios für uns ein klarer Favorit für ein schönes Dinner.

Ich war heute Mittag in diesem Restaurant essen. Das Restaurant war fast leer, außer mir waren vielleicht zwei oder drei weitere Gäste da. Ich wollte einfach in Ruhe essen, saß allein in einer Ecke, schaute nur auf mein Handy gucke dabei eine Serie und trug eine Mütze aus persönlichen Gründen. Nachdem mein Essen serviert wurde, kam der Kellner zu mir und fragte: „Wollen Sie wirklich weiterhin mit Ihrer Mütze hier sitzen?“ Ich war schockiert und habe gesagt, dass mich meine Mütze nicht störe und fragte, wo das Problem sei. Seine Antwort war: „Uns stört das aber.“…. Ich habe mich dadurch sehr unwohl und respektlos behandelt gefühlt. Niemand kennt die persönlichen Gründe anderer Menschen! Unf ich finde es völlig unangemessen, einen Gast deswegen anzusprechen. Ich wollte danach nur noch gehen. Ich habe direkt bezahlt und das Restaurant verlassen. Von meinem Essen habe ich lediglich ein kleines Stück des Fisches probiert. Leider war auch das Essen eine Enttäuschung, der Fisch schmeckte meiner Meinung nach miserabel. Aufgrund dieser Erfahrung kann ich dieses Restaurant nicht empfehlen. Für mich gehören Respekt und ein höflicher Umgang mit Gästen zu den wichtigsten Dingen in der Gastronomie. Beides habe ich hier leider nicht erlebt.

Was für ein tolles Restaurant! Wir waren an einem Feiertag dort, daher war es nicht so voll und der Service war schnell. Die Gerichte haben eine interessante sizilianische Note. Die Getränke waren gut. Die Außenterrasse war angenehm, aber da in Europa viele Leute draußen rauchen, kann es manchmal etwas laut sein. Das Tiramisu war perfekt!

Ich war letzte Woche zum ersten Mal dort da wir sonst immer andere Restaurants am Opernplatz besuchen. Ich war echt positiv von der Qualität des Essens überrascht. Wir hatten Austern, Garnelen usw. Echt gutes Essen.

Ein wunderbares, spontanes Mittagessen in Frankfurt. Das Steak war perfekt gebraten und zart, das Thunfisch-Tatar hervorragend. Die Atmosphäre war eher geschäftsmäßig, aber der Service war aufmerksam und sprach ausgezeichnetes Englisch.

Wir waren an einem Samstagabend da und es hat allein schon eine viertel Stunde gedauert bis wir überhaupt eine Karte bekommen haben. Bis wir bestellen konnten ist wieder eine viertel Stunde vergangen. Das Essen hat fast eine Dreiviertelstunde gedauert. Es war extrem überteuert und für den Preis nicht besonders viel. Nicht empfehlenswert!!!

Wir haben in diesem Restaurant verschiedene Gerichte probiert. Die Pistazienspaghetti haben mich ehrlich gesagt nicht sonderlich begeistert, die mit weißem Trüffel hingegen fand ich köstlich. Meiner Meinung nach ist das Essen etwas überteuert. Die Einrichtung ist wirklich sehr schön.

Lage und Ambiente sind super. Das Essen ist okay, aber meiner Meinung nach angesichts der Preise nicht gut genug. Der Service ist auch nur mittelmäßig: Wir mussten fast eine Stunde auf unsere Gerichte warten, und die Kellner stießen mindestens fünfmal gegen meinen Stuhl, ohne es zu bemerken oder sich zu entschuldigen – abgesehen davon waren sie höflich. Zusammenfassend lässt sich sagen, dass das Erlebnis in Ordnung war, wenn auch etwas protzig.

Wir waren gestern zum ersten Mal dort – obwohl wir schon ewig in der Nähe wohnen – und fragen uns echt, warum wir nicht schon viel früher hingegangen sind! 😄 Das Essen war einfach mega lecker, von der Vorspeise über den Hauptgang bis zum Dessert – alles hat richtig überzeugt. We visited this restaurant for the first time before a concert at the Alte Oper (Old Opera House), having chosen it based on good reviews. The ambiance is very pleasant, and the waiters are very friendly. While it's understandable that the location commands higher prices, we still found them exorbitant. We each ordered a pasta dish as our main course—main course, mind you! The portions were very small; my partner's plate contained five tortelloni (as a main course!). Even my pasta plate wasn't nearly enough to fill me up. The food tasted good, but it wasn't a culinary masterpiece, so we'll definitely be back. We felt it wasn't good value for money.

Alfio’s offers tasty food and a pleasant atmosphere. The location across from the Alte Oper is great and adds to the experience. However, overall it felt a bit overrated, and the prices are quite high for what you get, so the value for money isn’t really there in my opinion

I don't quite understand the concept of this restaurant. There are an incredible number of staff, but you have to wait forever for the food. I should add that only three tables were occupied during our visit. I don't know if it's the restaurant's policy to keep guests in as long as possible so they'll order more drinks?! The "greeting" from the kitchen was simply ridiculous. My steak was practically tasteless. I don't know if that was due to the quality of the meat or a mistake by the chef. First and last time!

Absolutely fantastic! We received such a warm welcome and were looked after with exceptional care right up until our departure. A huge compliment to this wonderful, warm-hearted team: you can tell they work together as a well-coordinated unit, putting their whole heart into it. They are incredibly friendly, pay attention to every detail, and go out of their way to make every guest feel welcome. We were thrilled with the group photo in this stylish wine bar! The cleanliness is also exemplary: after each guest, the tablecloths are changed and the chairs are thoroughly cleaned. The food was fantastic – the chefs are true masters. Such genuine hospitality is rare these days. We left in the best of spirits. It was a perfect family evening. We want to spend March 8th with you as a family, because we know that the holiday will be simply more beautiful and brighter with you!

We went here on Valentine's Day for a cozy dinner for two. Unfortunately, the tables were right next to each other, so there was no privacy or romantic atmosphere. The service was good, but the food was only average. The parmigiana and beef tartare were delicious, the octopus was rock hard, the fries were soggy, and the veal schnitzel was tasteless. Ultimately, a disappointing experience for the price.

The five of us celebrated our friend's birthday on Valentine's Day and were absolutely thrilled! Despite the hustle and bustle of the big day, we were able to get a table and received a wonderfully warm welcome. The service was simply outstanding all evening – a very special thank you to Davide, who looked after us attentively, kindly, and professionally. All the other waiters were also very courteous and helpful. The venue is truly fantastic, and the food was delicious. We felt completely at ease and will definitely be back!

The beautiful view of the Alte Oper (Old Opera House) is impressive at first. The restaurant's interior is also very attractive, and the service is good. The menu offers a promising selection; we ordered the tuna sashimi and both fettuccine dishes, but all of them were underwhelming in terms of flavor. All the dishes lacked seasoning and aromatic depth. Despite the attractive presentation, the food tasted bland and had an oily, yet very flat, flavor profile. The tuna sashimi was sitting in almost unseasoned tomato water and left an undefinable aftertaste. The fettuccine required a lot of additional seasoning and were still disappointing. Therefore, I can hardly recommend this restaurant for a meal, but perhaps it's still a good option for enjoying a glass of wine with a nice view.

If you want to experience a cheap school cafeteria, this restaurant is the place for you. The check-in process is lengthy; you're simply told where to go with your reservation, without anyone accompanying you. At best, you're seated at a table with another couple; otherwise, you're placed at a row of about ten tables pushed together in the middle of the room, making it impossible to move between them. The distance is so small that you could easily eat from your neighbors' plates. It's simply awful. The staff barely interacts, offers no help with the menu, and there isn't even a bar menu. The food is extremely mediocre. Overall, it's an experience on par with McDonald's, only with a bill exceeding €100.

This upscale Italian restaurant near the Alte Oper (Old Opera House) is part of a chain of expensive establishments. The prices are very high – after all, it's practically at the feet of Frankfurt's banking giants – but thankfully, the food is also very good and very authentically Italian. I would have loved to try everything on the menu. The tortelli al tartufo filled with braised beef was superb; I ordered spinach and broccoli on the side, and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. Since I wasn't quite full and had some time before the concert, I ordered vitello tonnato, and they kindly brought me a smaller portion upon request. Quality: excellent. For dessert, I had a very good tiramisu. Including a nice glass of wine, water, and an espresso, the bill came to around 90 euros. This delightful dinner was well worth it.

Alfios is an upscale Italian (Sicilian) restaurant near the Old Opera House. The food and wines are excellent. I highly recommend the steak. The service is friendly and attentive. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the ambiance is unique.

Far too loud, the price-performance ratio is not right...

This was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. The service was appalling, and the manager was shockingly rude, aggressive, and borderline threatening when we dared to complain. We waited nearly one hour and thirty minutes for the main course, which is beyond unacceptable and shows complete incompetence in managing a restaurant. As if that wasn’t enough, they began switching off the burners while we were still seated, leaving us cold and making it very clear that they wanted us gone. This is not “fine dining” — it is disrespectful, cheap, and disgraceful behavior. Yes, the food was decent, but food alone does not excuse humiliation. Hospitality is about respect, and this place has absolutely none. The manager, in particular, was arrogant, unprofessional, and completely unfit to be in a customer-facing role. Fine dining requires class, courtesy, and professionalism — all of which are entirely absent here. I will never return to this restaurant and would strongly warn others to stay away. No amount of fancy branding can hide the reality: third-rate management, zero hospitality, and a thoroughly unpleasant experience.

Absolutely horrible experience. This place is a masterclass in how not to run a hotel. And this isn’t even a small roadside restaurant — it’s supposed to be a fine-dine establishment, which makes the experience even more embarrassing. We had a reservation for 9:15 PM, yet it took 45 minutes just to get a table while other guests ate and left. After seating, we waited 20–30 minutes for someone to take our order, followed by another full hour for the food to arrive. The food was good, but not worth the ridiculous wait. Service was painfully slow and completely unprofessional. I would rate this zero stars if possible. Never again. 👎

The food was acceptable. The value for money was poor. The service was simply bad. It took 30 minutes to order. It took 30 minutes for the olives and butter to arrive. The accompanying bread took another 30 minutes. Two slices of baguette per person. The seating felt like sitting outside on the street in 4-degree Celsius weather.

Such service is truly rare! The food was fantastic: fresh ingredients, perfectly balanced flavors, and beautifully presented. Add to that the elegant, stylish ambiance – simply perfect all around. We will definitely be back and can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant!

Excellent fine dining Italian food

Extremely original, delicate pasta. Behind the "tortelli filled with braised beef, refined in jus and Parmigiano-Reggiano foam and truffle" lies a true flavor bomb. Also: fantastic antipasti. Great fish. Fine Italian cuisine at the highest level.

The food in the restaurant was really good and of high quality – we spent our anniversary there and were looking forward to a special evening. Unfortunately, it was severely marred by a very unfortunate situation: When making the reservation, I had specified roses as a special request. Instead of the restaurant stylishly preparing this or coordinating it with me in advance, a stranger, inappropriately dressed, suddenly appeared during the main course and handed me a large bouquet of roses. He then demanded money from me right at the table. The bouquet wasn't fresh, and the price was negotiated spontaneously – a very unpleasant and completely inappropriate moment for an upscale restaurant. This kind of situation shouldn't happen in a restaurant of this category. Transparency about costs and appropriate organization of requests would have been a given here. It's a real shame, because from a culinary perspective, the evening was actually a success.

Delicious food, great location and great ambience

After our visit on Friday evening, I have to say that the food, especially the recommended starter platter, was very good. However, we weren't so satisfied with the service. Serving the side dishes first and then the steak ten minutes later is completely unacceptable. Occasionally, orders like espresso were forgotten, even though the place wasn't too busy. I also found it a bit noisy inside. For prices like these, I expect more.

A place with a modern and elegant Italian atmosphere. It has outdoor seating and is located opposite the Opera House, which provides an excellent view. The service is excellent, with friendly staff. We ordered burrata and spaghetti with shrimp. Along with the bread basket, they served black olives and butter.

Disappointing experience. It was far from fully booked but the food took 1,5 hour to be served out. While serving out it was unclear if the plates were actually for our group so those who had food were asked to wait with eating until the confirmation was done. This took 15 minutes with the result that the food was cold. Just a simple sorry. Food portions were very small and taste was disappointing; for example 1 (larger) piece of Ravioli for 30 euro's and lamb meat was not prepared well. Desserts were tasty and good though!

We have eaten dinner with 4 people based on good google reviews but we were disappointed on the quality of the food. The location and atmosphere of the restaurant is good. The service was good except the waitress serving the drinks which was a bit annoying. We had three appetizers; aubergene, octopus and carpaccio. Aubergine was really good but the rest was not tasty and way too expensive for the size and food quality. We also had 4 main courses and nobody liked it. Especially Tortelli di Manzo al Tarufo (€31.90) was not tasty, came cold and very small in portion. This is a place that we would not go again for sure.

We were at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, where lots of people were partying and there were several drink stands. I ordered a Lillet with berries, but they gave me a grapefruit one, which I didn't want. And they charged me €14, including the deposit, which was absolutely overpriced for something that only had a few drops of alcohol in it... and for the wrong drink. The staff were also unfriendly and completely ignored my warning. No apology, no replacement, nothing. I felt really ripped off and not taken seriously. Very disappointing; I will definitely not buy anything from this stand again.

I can't understand the positive reviews at all. We were assigned a table. The used napkins from the previous guests were still lying on these. This was the same at the neighboring table. You had to wait forever, from the starter to the main course. Above all, you had to ask for everything. The waiter knocked the fork out of my wife's hand as he walked past. The starter (tuna tartare) was ok. The tiger prawns (50 euros) were partly raw and tasteless. The noodles were a disaster. We asked the basement about it. A quick sorry and that he'll let you know in the kitchen. It should also be mentioned that he then decided to buy two desserts on the house. But even there, some of the chocolate souffle was unfortunately still cold. Tiramisu was ok. In a nutshell, this has nothing to do with service and gastronomy and it could hardly be worse. We are disappointed and won't be coming back.

The aperitifs we ordered came 15 minutes after the starter was served. The main course was sent about 1h15 after the starter. This distance is definitely not OK. To be honest, we thought there would be no more food. Plus it was already 9:20pm!! I gave the service staff a nice hint that quite a bit of time had passed. He promptly replied "We have 2 large tables". To be honest, I asked myself, what do they do when the store is 100% full? What was also incomprehensible to me was that no one noticed our empty glasses. We would have liked to have had another glass of wine after the aperitif... Even the head of the house, Giuseppe Greco (he was present that evening), probably doesn't have an eye for it. Like the rest of the staff, he preferred to chat with "regulars" at other tables. The good food was "broken" by the poor service. Therefore tip 0€!! In total we paid €143.50. 1x starter, 1x pasta, 1x fish, 2 Campari Spritz, 1x bottle of water. Well, we were there twice in total. The first and the last time. Let's go around the corner to Meyer. There you understand how gastronomy works.

The food was good, but the rest of the experience was a disaster. A waiter led us to the table, another rudely told us that we should leave because the table was still being set. We then sat at the table without a place setting. The patio heaters kept going crazy. When setting the dishes, the cutlery was not placed neatly and straight. It took forever until a waiter took the order... my dish came, but my partner's didn't. Even after 10 minutes it wasn't there! Don't understand how you market yourself as an upscale restaurant but then fail to follow basic principles of gastronomy. Well, the plate was brought, but it was the wrong dish. After confusion on the part of the waiter, it turned out that the dish we ordered had been swapped with a neighboring table and the lady had already eaten our order. So we were asked if we just wanted to keep the wrong one. There were two situations where a waiter came to us with a plate and asked if the order was ours - it wasn't. We also observed the same thing at neighboring tables. This raises questions about whether there is a system for how orders are taken. The lady who ended up eating our dish had another plate of main course put on the table while she was eating. She let him go back with the comment that she obviously already had a full plate in front of her and was just about to eat. Far too chaotic for me and an uncomfortable atmosphere due to all the furniture being moved around. Add to that the fact that one waiter doesn't know what the other is saying and we were initially turned away from the table very harshly... that can't compensate for the food in the overall rating.

Thank you very much for the outstanding service. The food, drinks and flexibility are just perfect. It was a huge pleasure to have our wedding lunch with you. We are really looking forward to the next visit.

A fantastic restaurant in the heart of Frankfurt. Excellent service and haute cuisine. The food isn't cheap, but it's absolutely worth the price. We were there on a Saturday. There was live music and a music school (around 25 young people) who came to visit late in the evening were included in the songs. Top! We'd love to come back.

Elegant dining with great food and service. The starter platter was awesome. Location near the Alte Oper is super convenient.

The truffle pasta is a dream 11/10

Despite arriving very late after the Tina Turner concert at the Alte Oper Frankfurt, there was still very good food to round off the day. Thank you very much for the taste experiences. We'd love to come back!

The food was excellent, and the location was incredibly peaceful. We sat outside and enjoyed the sun. It is right across from the Opera House, so it is in a beautiful location.

One hour waiting to get seated it is not a joke. Why do you take a reservation if your not able to seat your guests with a reasonable waiting time. No need to review the food if the customer experience is terrible from the beginning waiting ages to get seated...come one!

The staff is very friendly and absolutely professional. Ambiance is very romantic and food is excellent. Great price-performance ratio! Antipasti plate was an experience.

The food is not good and not authentic either. Ordered pasta and you could just tell that the clams weren't cleaned properly. If you make a mistake like that with pasta, I don't want to know what the other dishes taste like. Dessert is ok and the wine menu has better ones. It's better to save money than to eat at a place like this. The Paparazzi restaurant in Frankfurt is better. The Italian snooty waiter was also annoying and unpleasant. If you do the job with passion, you don't beg for tips. The restaurant was really bad by Frankfurt standards and there are more authentic and delicious places located downtown.

The food was such that you thought the chef was probably on vacation. The truffle fries were cold and soggy. There were three of us, all the food was cold or lukewarm and at most justified the price of a mediocre Italian restaurant and not the high Alfio prices - in relation to the relatively poor quality. The salmon was ok, the tuna too, but the lobster pieces in standard noodles were overcooked and hard, the tomato sauce tasteless. The salad dressing for the small. Salad was too sweet and not tasty. We had to get used to water prices of EUR 9 elsewhere and the wine was rather flat for the price. The service tried hard, but far from being courteous or correct, it was hectic and very robust. It's a shame, we would have been better off at a restaurant further ahead.
