The first time I visited Al Shaam it was still called "Leonrod". That was over 20 years ago... and I didn't live in Munich yet; I drove into the city specifically to eat Lebanese. Because it tasted just as good as where it came from (I've been traveling abroad a lot for work for 30 years). Luckily only the name of the restaurant has changed...the food remains just as good and I always enjoy going there

I was at Al Shaam last Wednesday with a friend and we ordered the set menu for 2! To start, we got the beautiful lentil soup followed by tonnes (and I mean absolutely tonnes) of side platters! We were aware that it would be a mix of 10, but did not foresee how generous the portions would be. On top of that, every single one was fresh and amazing. When the main course came out we were again taken aback by the freshness and portion size. The meat was perfectly done and juicy. Even after all this huge meal, the desert came out and we finished every last piece and considered asking for more 😂 Jamila served us and she was absolutely fantastic, gave us loads of time to choose wine and to finish the Mezze and was overall super kind to us. The Cankaya wine was also great with this set menu! Can’t wait to be back in Munich to go again!

Rather mediocre. Despite the manageable number of visitors, we had to wait almost 15 minutes before the waiter even came. The food wasn't bad, but it was rather disappointing for the relatively high price.

I had dinner at Al Shaam with my friend today and we were very satisfied. We were greeted warmly by the boss and received a very warm welcome. Falafel & tabbouleh were fantastic. The other mezzes were also unique. Each in its own way. We'll be back soon and thank you for the great service.

We were there today as a group of 12 people. The gentleman who served us was very nice and made a lot of effort. Despite the fact that we made a larger order, the timing was ok. A little patience is required. The starters mezze were very tasty and fresh as was the meal as a whole.

Unfortunately, I wasn't really satisfied with my visit to Al Shaam today. We only want to eat a starter (small bowl of hummus, 4 small dumplings, bread basket, two Afri-Cola and a soup) which ended up costing us €32. In my opinion the shop is incredibly expensive & you wait a long time for your food. The restaurant is very dark inside and made it seem like I was eating my food in a basement. It looks like the restaurant hasn't been finished yet, the walls apparently haven't been painted and you can still see the concrete in many places through. We also had to keep our jackets on because it was super cold. In general, I unfortunately didn't like today's visit and can't recommend it for that reason. (Own opinion)

I discovered this restaurant by chance and we left the restaurant full and satisfied. We had the mezze special and kebab. It was beautifully prepared and tasted great. Everything was very seasoned. It's worth going. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the waiter was very nice and attentive.

In Munich, Al-Sham is obviously the first best Arabic restaurant, Al-Sham offers Lebanese and Syrian specialties. Service is courteous and the starters and main courses are fabulous. The ambience is very pleasant but the music could have been a little louder because otherwise you can hear everyone's conversations :). A large selection of red wine also from Lebanese Rakis was offered. We were in many Arabic restaurants in Munich, but only here we met the best taste and quality. We say thank you very much for the quality and service, we will come back.

Lebanese cuisine of excellent quality combined with optimal service. Here you can feel the passion for good cuisine in every carefully prepared dish. And this level has been maintained for years. Therefore: full marks! Recommendation: 17 appetizers to share.

This place was an accidental amazing find. Food was superb. I travel with a group that enjoys Lebanese food all over the world and this place is exceeded expectations and was extremely tasty. We had two new friends from our hotel that joined us and they are hooked. Okay. We have to give a shout out to Elias. How he managed 7 Americans is beyond me. We all walked out with a smile. Thank you Elias. We will see you again.

I love libanese food, but sorry guys that was a bit weak. The food is expensive and very little servings. The taste was 5/10. Needed salt, but there was nothing on the tables and the waiter disappeared, so we couldn't ask. The music is very quiet, it'd help to feel a bit more the vibe if they turn up the volume a bit. The restaurant was empty almost this time but if someone sits beside us we should whisper, I'm sure. For the food we had to wait too much and at the end we couldn't pay with card, we had to walk to bank ,take cash. Disappointed... 😐

Had Lebanese Sunday brunch for the first time. It's NOT Buffett & NOT 'all-you-can-eat'. The dishes are served sm the table, this includes (my explanation)- Cold: -Flatbread (quartered) -Peppers, green & black olives, cucumbers & tomatoes - small bowl with something red sweet - small bowl with something yellow sweet (tastes like honey with a little rose water) -Bowl of yogurt with mint Warm: -Tray with 3 different types of flatbread (cut into quarters): 1x with spice paste, 1x with minced meat and 1x with cheese -Plate of string cheese and pieces of something similar to feta and something similar to povolone -Bowl with various beans in a spicy broth - Bowl of fatteh Everything was very delicious. My favorite was the fatteh. I and my companion really enjoyed the brunch, it was something different. You should reserve in advance for brunch as it was full. Highly recommended

Great visit 👍🏻 Mega-friendly service, super delicious food, interesting menu, pleasant interior. Price and performance in a top ratio. The Lebanese restaurant is both targeted and frequented by guests from the neighborhood. You immediately feel comfortable. Tip: The Fataer are warm and deliciously stuffed, the Foul was super creamy and the Fattusch salad was nice and crunchy. In addition to the more well-known grilled specialties, the pan-fried dishes are also highly recommended.

We were there for the first time today and I have never seen such a small portion of minced meat skewers, apart from that it was like a portion divided into two and charged for two :-/ I am very disappointed, especially the description on the menu should be different and not Minced meat skewers, they were more like lumps floating in yogurt sauce...very nice service and atmosphere is great but the food was a no go unfortunately, way too expensive for this small portion 👎🏻 They are only focused on starters, as you can see in the reviews, no one shared a main course, I wish I had taken a picture of our meal too, that way you could have understood it better, well it's over, But you should definitely change something about the prices and portions.

We were in a trip busniess with 2 of my colleagues for ifat exhibition and then we got in the restaurant , the food was good but the server is an idiot and a disrespectful person , he came first with a wrong order and he wanted to add it to the bill then when we wanted to pay with card and he told us only cash he told us its not possible , and wanted to make problems with us and call the police f

We ordered the set menu for 2 people at the beginning of the menu, which cost 79 euros, but the food was far from worth the price.

We were here with a voucher and received a very friendly welcome. A normal mezze was booked, we then asked for vegan options and then spontaneously received 18 different vegan starter bowls. It was really delicious and of high quality and we will definitely come back. The service explained every single dish to us and was generally very accommodating. Big recommendation 🥰

The price-performance ratio is extremely inconsistent. We were there for lunch with 8 people. Only those who had meals for €20 were full; everyone else then went to the bakery. The taste of the food was ok, the waiting time was 45 minutes even though there was nothing going on, too long for lunch. We agreed that we will not come back. There are a variety of restaurants around the corner that will fill you up for lunch for just €10. What's positive is that you can sit outside nicely. Small blackcurrant spritzer is clearly too expensive at €4.50.

Really delicious brunches on Sundays. Manakeesh zaatar/jibne/lahme, foul, fatteh, hummus, hummus msabbah. I also went for Iftar last week and it was delicious.

Wir waren zum Abendessen mit Freunden da und können das Restaurant uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Haben uns durch die Karte probiert, alle Gerichte waren sehr lecker und reichlich. Probiert unbedingt die gemischten Vorspeisen, Ihr werdet es nicht bereuen 😉. Einen extra Daumen hoch 👍👍👍 bekommt der sehr freundliche, aufmerksame Kellner.

Had the dinmer offer for 2, was a HUGE quantity, most dishes were excellent, edpecialy grilled meat, fatayer, lentile soup. What i didnt like was the Baklawa (really bad actualy), foul and Falafel (flafel was ready made). EverThing else was good.

It's not just cooking here; Here, good food is refined by hand and every product is treated with dignity and reverence. So it's no surprise that the best possible results are always achieved. The interior gives the meal an appropriate setting and harmonizes with the prepared dishes.

The food was of good quality, but I missed e.g. With the lamb kebab that certain something extra, e.g. a yoghurt dip with sumac and pomegranate seeds. That would have made it perfect. Al Shaam in Munich is an outstanding Lebanese restaurant with excellent taste. The family management gives the place a welcoming atmosphere. Despite the simple decor, the dining experience is excellent. Fully recommended, 5 out of 5 stars.

As someone with Lebanese heritage, I approached Al Shaam with a lot of excitement and anticipation for a taste of home. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t fully meet my expectations. While the food was generally fine, it lacked the authenticity and flavor depth that I’m accustomed to. Some dishes were noticeably dry, which detracted from the overall enjoyment. Additionally, the pricing felt steep considering the quality of the offerings. The ambiance of the restaurant, while pleasant, was marred by extremely low music and a quiet atmosphere that made us feel compelled to speak in hushed tones throughout our meal. This detracted from the lively, vibrant dining experience I associate with Lebanese dining culture. A notable point of my disappointment was the lack of authentic Lebanese interaction. None of the staff members we interacted with were Lebanese, and their command of Arabic was minimal. This absence of cultural connection was a missed opportunity to enrich the dining experience. In summary, while I appreciated the effort to provide a Lebanese dining option, Al Shaam fell short of delivering the authentic experience I had hoped for. The combination of culinary, atmospheric, and cultural misalignments made for a less than satisfying visit.

The food in the shop is very tasty, but unfortunately the waiter was very rude and emphasized several times that we had to reach a certain amount in order to stay. That would be understandable in itself, but the way it was done was unacceptable. Unfortunately the waiter really dampened the mood.

Amazing Lebanese food! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food tastes great and comes in abundance. Try the menu to taste their lentils soup, 10 different appetizers, a main dish of grilled meat (also vegetarian option) and a dessert. The dessert is one of the main highlights with the authentic pistachio baklawa. The ambience is also nice. Reservation is a plus. For the manakish, they have a Sunday brunch that is recommended by many.
