Haben hier zum Mittagessen gegessen. Die Pizza war sagenhaft. Der Pizzaboden ist richtig gut. Man schmeckt , dass der Pizzabäcker mit dem Herzblut arbeitet. Gute Kombinationen für den Belag. Wir sind sehr zufrieden geblieben.

Ein schöner Abend mit gutem Essen und fantastischer Musik. Personal sehr freundlich und fürsorglich. Man hat sich wohl gefühlt 👍

Sie hatten auch nach 22 Uhr noch geöffnet, wenn man vor dieser Zeit bestellte.

Ein schönes Restaurant mit sehr nettem Personal. Fande etwas wenig Tomatensauce auf der pizza war aber trotzdem lecker.

Leckeres Essen in einer richtig schönen Location mitten in der Altstadt. Egal ob Pizza oder Pasta – alles, was ich probiert habe, war geschmacklich top und gut zubereitet. Die Atmosphäre ist angenehm und lädt zum Verweilen ein. Besonders positiv sind auch die netten Inhaber, die sehr freundlich und aufmerksam sind. Insgesamt absolut empfehlenswert für einen guten Abend mit gutem Essen.

Grundsätzlich kann ich verstehen, dass man kein mitgebrachtes Eis im Laden essen soll, besonders wenn dort selbst Eis verkauft wird. Leider war der Ton des Inhabers in unserem Fall sehr unfreundlich. Unser Kind hatte kurz vorher eine Kugel Eis bekommen und war noch nicht fertig, als wir reingekommen sind. Eine freundliche Erklärung wäre völlig in Ordnung gewesen, so fühlten wir uns aber leider unwohl.

Wir hatten einen rundum perfekten Besuch in der Pizzeria Al Castello! Bestellt haben wir drei Pizzen: – Thunfisch – Hawaii mit frischen Champignons – Carpaccio mit Parmesan und Rucola Alle drei Pizzen waren einfach ein Traum: mega knusprig, dabei herrlich fluffiger Teig – genau so stellt man sich eine perfekte Pizza vor! Besonders hervorzuheben ist der Chef, der persönlich bedient: super freundlich, aufmerksam und mit echtem italienischem Charme. Man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Das Ambiente ist sehr gemütlich, mit dezenter italienischer Musik im Hintergrund – einfach zum Wohlfühlen. Auch unser Hund war herzlich willkommen, was wir sehr geschätzt haben. Obwohl wir kurz vor der Mittagspause gekommen sind, wurden wir äußerst freundlich und zuvorkommend bedient – absolut nicht selbstverständlich! Fazit: Toller Service, fantastische Pizza und echtes italienisches Flair. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Schneller Entschluss, ein italienisches Abendessen soll es sein. Wie immer ein heimeliges Ambiente einer italienischen Trattoria. Sehr freundlich und sehr italienisch der Service. Eine übersichtliche Karte und alle Gerichte lecker. Heute waren es Tagliatelle mit Lachs in einer Weißwein-Tomaten Sauce. Und unbedingt auch einen Blick auf die Schiefertafel mit den Empfehlungen des Tages werfen.

Wir waren nur zum Nachtisch da, und Gott sei Dank gab es Nachtisch wie aus einem Altersheim, dazu Getränke (bereits geöffnete Cola). Vielleicht war nur die Freundlichkeit des Besitzers ein Lichtblick, denn 52 € für vier Nachtische und vier Getränke finde ich übertrieben! Durchgefallen.

Gute, ehrliche italienische Küche. Der Inhaber macht selbst den Service und seine Frau steht in der Küche. Faire Preise, gute Qualität und ein hervorragender Service – aufmerksam, aber nie aufdringlich. Besonders schön: selbstgemachtes Brot. Kein „Fake-Italiener“ mit Sucuk-Pizza, sondern originale italienische Küche.Italienische Musik. Kann man wirklich empfehlen

Ich wünschte, ich könnte diesem Restaurant null Sterne geben. Das Essen war so widerlich, dass es mich richtig wütend gemacht hat. Der Service war unterirdisch, und als wir reinkamen, roch es unangenehm. Vielleicht riecht es nicht immer so, aber heute definitiv. Ich verstehe überhaupt nicht, wie dieses Restaurant 4,6 Sterne haben kann. Wer gutes italienisches Essen sucht, ist hier definitiv falsch.

Sehr familiäre Atmosphäre, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Ich kann besonders die Pizza Tricolore empfehlen!

Es war nicht nur ein Restaurantbesuch, sondern ein Abend mit Atmosphäre, Nähe und italienischer Lebensfreude. Die Gespräche mit ihm haben den Abend zusätzlich besonders gemacht. Das Essen war hervorragend, liebevoll zubereitet und voller Geschmack – begleitet von einer entspannten, warmen Stimmung. Wir haben den Abend sehr genossen und kommen definitiv wieder. Ein Ort, an dem man nicht nur gut isst, sondern sich wirklich willkommen fühlt. Absolute Empfehlung

Wir haben unsere Weihnachtsfeier in der Pizzeria gefeiert. Der Service war sehr gut, man konnte sich immer freundlich mit den Kellnern unterhalten und hatte das Gefühl, willkommen zu sein. Die Räumlichkeiten waren ansprechend dekoriert und festlich gestaltet. Die Toiletten waren nicht nach dem neuesten Schrei, aber sauber und zweckdienlich. Das Essen hat gut geschmeckt und war sehr schön angerichtet, ebenso alle Getränke. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder.

We were guests here today, and it was simply fantastic. The food was delicious, fresh, and plentiful. The chef was simply fantastic, and the staff were also fantastic. All in all, they were truly wonderful hosts. We'd love to come back 😉✌️

The service was excellent and the staff very friendly, no complaints there. We ordered three tomato soups which were delicious. However, the main courses were a disaster. My father-in-law ordered veal in mushroom sauce with pasta and got fries instead. My husband and I ordered salmon and were served a white fish, and the waiter insisted it was salmon! After explaining that it clearly wasn’t salmon, he admitted we were right and asked if we wanted the “real” salmon to go. On the bill, we were charged for bread we never asked for; it was just brought to the table, so we assumed it was complimentary. We also didn’t get the salmon to go as compensation. The restaurant is beautiful and some dishes are good, but overall we felt cheated. If you order salmon, make sure it’s the real one.

Nedo and his wife put their heart and soul into their work here. You'll always be presented with a daily specials menu featuring delicious Italian specialties. The homemade tagliatelle, seafood salad, and carpaccio are highly recommended. They also offer gluten-free pizza dough.

I've never had anything like this in an Italian restaurant before! A combination for €13.80 with 100 grams of pasta isn't exactly advertising for a business. And then this stupid statement, "That's how it is with us!" Never again!!!

Once and never again! I've never had such a bad combination for €13.80! The bowl was barely a quarter full. It wouldn't fill you up, and it didn't taste good either! An Aperol Spritz was cheap at €5.90, but the glass was a quarter full!! Never again at Al Castello in Idar-Oberstein

The food, service, and ambiance were good, but for the first time in my life, I paid more than €7 for a 0.5-liter beer. Very expensive.

Yesterday, I went to this restaurant with my family (4 adults and 1 child) for the first and last time. We ordered 1 Coke, 1 beer, 1 non-alcoholic cocktail, 1 alcoholic cocktail, and 2 large pizzas. The cocktails were a disaster: about 50 ml in huge glasses – they looked half-finished. The waitress simply said, "Paid so much – so much in it." Absolutely outrageous for €6. Then two sets of cutlery were removed from the table and placed at another table – without explanation. When the pizzas arrived, we had to ask for plates and cutlery. They brought us four plates (there were five of us!), but no cutlery. Another employee then literally told us, "You only ordered two pizzas, so there are only two sets of cutlery." Only after I reacted in shock did he bring ONE additional set. In the end, after asking three times, we waited over 30 minutes for the bill – and then we were suddenly told that card payments weren't possible, even though the waitress had previously said otherwise. The pizza was tasteless, and the service was abysmal. In the surrounding restaurants, both the food and the customer service are significantly better. I haven't experienced anything like this in any other restaurant. Never again.

THE best Italian restaurant in Germany!! A hidden treasure with amazing food and friendly staff! You always feel at home eating here. Beautiful views of the town square. Cozy vibes in the winter and relaxing vibes during the spring and summer. I crave their pasta at least once a month! If you are in the area you HAVE to go.

Discovered this little gem near closing time - turned down for dinner at nearby place, & the owner here gave welcome, apologizng that all he could serve was "a good pasta dish" (due to the hour.) Respected my allergies & served up a nice pesto pasta with salmon. Came back soon after to try the pizza - very good - the service is welcoming & pleasant. Enjoyed the outdoor setting & the background live (quiet) music. Back a 3rd time - veggie pizza - yum! Good ambiance, good food, good prices, good music. Hmmm... what to do for Sunday dinner...?

Unfortunately, our pizza wasn't cooked through, the onions on the salad were a thumb's width apart, and we were given a dessert we didn't really want (strawberry tiramisu instead of tiramisu). The tiramisu tasted too much like whipped cream for us. We were also later overcharged for a glass of wine. Overall, it was too expensive for the quality of the food.

Everything 5 star. Service is great, food is delicious, location is very cosy, prices are very good! Go have dinner here!!

In Idar-Oberstein for a few days and ended up eating dinner here on 2 nights. Great welcome from the staff, great food and beer. Would definitely eat here again if I was ever back in the town

I've been to Castello several times now and I'm impressed every time. The friendliness of the staff is simply exceptional – you receive a warm welcome and immediately feel at home. The service is attentive but unobtrusive, always with a smile. The food is an absolute delight: fresh, lovingly prepared, and delicious. Whether it's pasta, meat dishes, or the delicious desserts – you can tell the cooking here is done with passion.

The most beautiful place in this otherwise dreary city. The food came very quickly, was warm and very tasty. A very nice and open owner. Good music playing in the background.

Un endroit sympathique, au look un peu vieillot mais sans que ce soit dérangeant, au contraire. La pizza a le goût classique de celles qu'on retrouve en Allemagne. Le service est agréable. Cela dit, le passage aux toilettes à la fin du repas était une expérience moins sympathique... si d'aspect tout semblait propre, le sol collant laisse une très mauvaise impression.

Food wasn't very good for the price

This is the real deal. If I were to use one word to describe my overall experience and satisfaction with this place, I would use the word "superb." From start to finish, you can tell this place takes lots of pride on their product (food, experience, locale and atmosphere). I will absolutely return and recommend to family and friends.

Wow! If you are anywhere near Idar-oberstein, I highly recommend you consider this place as a dining option. Food, service, and atmosphere are nothing short of excellent. Great experience from greeting to finish. It is very evident that this place executes everything with pride. My favorite dish is their "Salmon Lasagna" (seasonal). I will definitely return with my family and recommend them to my friends.

We liked it very much. We got a seat straight away without registering - in contrast to other restaurants that simply didn't want any more guests because of the numerous Christmas parties. Very tasty and rich food. Extremely attentive, friendly service from the waitress and the boss personally. The price-performance ratio is also really great! We had a wonderful evening here. The food was really delicious and the portions were so big that you could also enjoy the tiramisu for dessert - perfect! The pizzas are small and relatively poorly topped. I think there is careful emphasis on getting everything out of the customer. Unfortunately, like me, it can happen that you go home a little hungry. That shouldn't be the case because you pay decent prices. An example: the menu shows a 0.2 liter Cola Diet for €2.50. But if you order a Diet Coke, you get a 0.4 liter glass for €4.80. This is how you quietly, quietly and secretly make almost double your sales. Guys, that's not fair. But you should always treat your customers fairly and decently, which is why I only give it one star.

The first time I've experienced that the reviews differ so much from reality. I ordered a large pizza and apparently the small one came. Tiny pizza meets huge plate ^^. And the taste was rather mediocre.

Landlord ambushes guests on the street like a bouncer! Tomatoes with supposed buffalo morzarella had a utopian price!

I've been to this great pizzeria several times this year with friends. Most recently last Wednesday with my daughter. You immediately feel at home here, great atmosphere, great boss and delicious food. For pizza lovers, the gemstone pizza is a must try. This is how I imagine coziness! Danger of repetition :-) It was great again today, gemstone pizza and a super nice boss!!!

By far, the best service I’ve received in my 3 years here and I’m consistent visitor of this restaurant. I love bringing my friends here for them to say how much they love the staff and the food. Absolutely amazing probably the best Italian food in the country and definitely the best in Rheinland I suggest everyone come to Al Castello’s first you’re ever hungry within a 2hr drive it’s that good 100%

Food was not outstanding but good for the price and the best of the restaurants we tried in Idar Oberstein. Very friendly owners (they really do their best to make you happy) and a cozy setting that makes up for a lot.

Das Essen ist wirklich nicht zu empfehlen. Im Gegenteil: Bei der Pizza könnte es sich genauso um eine Tiefkühlpizza handeln, die ein wenig belegt wurde. Sehr enttäuschend!
