We ate at Akam's in Heidelberg. Upon entering the restaurant, several employees were standing behind the counter, but we were neither greeted nor spoken to. We initially found a table ourselves, as it wasn't clear that the concept involved ordering at the counter. Again, there was no reaction or even a brief explanation. After a while, we went to the counter ourselves and asked. There, we were informed that orders could only be placed at the counter. We then did so and picked up our food ourselves at the counter, even though we were the first and only customers in the restaurant. Unfortunately, the bread was only lukewarm, which was a shame, as there would have been plenty of time to prepare it fresh and warm. This somewhat dampened our impression. On the positive side, the food was very tasty. With a little more attention from the service, clearer communication of the ordering process, and better temperature of the food, the visit could have been much more enjoyable overall.

The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive; you immediately feel welcome. Even when it's busy, the team remains calm and ensures that everything is served quickly and efficiently. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the quality is consistently high. Overall, it's a really good restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere – I've been there several times and have always been very satisfied.

It was our first time there, and the reviews spoke for themselves. The restaurant is clean and modern inside. The cook was also the cashier, and his demeanor could have been a bit friendlier. We ordered Akam's special platter with shawarma: falafel, halloumi cheese, grilled vegetables, chickpea mousse, eggplant puree, red pepper paste, chicken breast, and mixed salad—it was ready in no time. Together with the excellent selection of drinks, it was a truly delicious, filling, and wonderfully put-together meal. We can only praise it; absolutely 5 stars.

The definition of middling. The food is cold if you don't gobble it down in 5 minutes. It doesn't taste particularly good, but it's not bad either. The staff aren't friendly, but they're not unfriendly either. 2.5 stars would be more accurate.

Great shop, elegant decor, friendly, fast service, and everything fresh. I just find the various pastes and hummus to be way (!) too salty. Even with flatbread or a piece of vegetables, it's way too much.

Akam's in Heidelberg is simply fantastic! Fresh, delicious food, generous portions, and a friendly team. The value for money is absolutely spot on – for me, it's one of the best places in the city for a truly good meal.

Good value for money. For around €7, you get a delicious wrap that's also reasonably filling. It's a great place to end the evening on the terrace with a gentle breeze after a hot summer day.

The quality was quite good at first, but unfortunately it's steadily declining. The meat is too dry, the rice isn't fresh, and there are fewer sauces on the plate, but everything is getting more and more expensive. There are no suitable portions for children.

Delicious food – we had the Akam's special platter, as per the reviews – and found it to be very flavorful and reasonably priced. The food was prepared right in front of us, which is great – there's nothing to hide. We'll be back next time we're in Heidelberg.

Located 2 minutes walk from our hotel, we just had to have our evening meal here! Excellent food with lots of vegan choices! I had the baba ganoush falafels and lentil soup. Full of flavour and very filling! Excellent value for money too.

There's no rotisserie for shawarma. The workers are unprofessional. There's no receipt after payment. The restaurant is clean, the place is pleasant, and there's parking right across the street.
