Super delicious food, especially the steaks. Never had better steak anywhere else than at Ajo! Ambiance is also fabulous, especially on the terrace in summer. The waitresses are super friendly and not as aloof as in some other exquisite restaurants. Since the restaurant is very popular, you should reserve a table early. Reservations are possible online. There's nothing to complain about.

We just wanted to treat ourselves to good meat. The guest room is something special with its seating areas instead of chairs at the table. The mix of old and new beams gives the whole thing something rustic, despite the high-quality furnishings. The meat was perfect and grilled to perfection. Incredibly delicate. I liked the decor of the restaurant. However, the staff didn't always make a friendly impression on me on site or even when making the reservation by telephone. You are referred to the online reservation option, although there are still people without internet. When making the reservation itself, I had never experienced that you have to give out all of your data, including your telephone number, email and address, as is the case here. I was present as a companion/driver for, among others, two ladies aged around 90. Since they no longer had such a large appetite, they asked for a second plate so they could share a dish. The answer was: "We won't do that!" Instead - at least that's my impression - more sales were ensured elsewhere with oversized dishes. The food itself was fine; According to many people, it is a bit greasy or oily. Addition: Sorry if you're using my opinion here to give a general answer regarding dogs, children,... I didn't say anything about that! I actually didn't plan on wasting any more time on the internet, but based on your personal answer, I would be happy to provide more details. As I said, I was only a “companion” and “payer”, because the lady with the personal relationship with you wanted to visit your restaurant together with relatives from the USA on their last evening together and originally wanted to eat game. Actually, the only possible, reserved meal time was already too late for the ladies and in general people are simply less hungry as they get older. I understand that you live from sales. But I and especially the guests from the USA (!) don't understand that - especially if you know the lady - it is a problem to bring a second plate to share a dish. The lady expressed her wish for a “senior portion” several times. Recommending food is your job and a good thing; Of course the older women won't say no. Yes, they would be ashamed…to say no! And I didn't say that your friend didn't like it. At 91 she will certainly not answer you otherwise... But as you said yourself, the lady “almost finished” the small steak and ate part of the salad and only a few of the fries (together with the other ladies). A good half of the fish was eaten, as was the fried potatoes. Half of the salad plate was also left. OK; There's nothing you can do about it! But I knew this in advance because the ladies mentioned several times that they were slightly hungry and wanted to share a portion. I therefore perceived the whole thing as “misguided advice”. It makes sense that after being informed that you don't put a second plate on the table, you should have left and realized that it was the wrong time or that we are not part of your target group. As I said, the relatives came from the USA and I recently visited a few restaurants with them. There was, among other things, a restaurant that served us the salad and the pizza already divided on two plates... My steak was ok, although in other restaurants the waitress also offers spices or pepper fresh from the mill. Because it wasn't me, but rather those guests who supposedly only eat fast food, who found the fish, the side dishes and the salad to be a bit too oily, I can't do anything. I was just passing on the feedback! The American guests therefore know the rating. I am regularly in the USA and can say that customer service is often experienced differently there anyway. Regardless of free water, bread, sauces, ... an additional plate upon customer request would be a given.

Were here a long time ago. If you like high-quality and delicious food, this is the place for you. The meat was well prepared and the side dishes and sauces/dips were very tasty. We had 2 children with us and they were also very welcome and didn't bother anyone, thank you! :-)

The food is really good value for money, we paid around €60 per person. The decor was very successful, the fillet steak was on point. The lady who cashed in could have looked a little friendlier at times :) But the rest of the team is doing a great job! Will be here more often in the future.

It was once again an absolute (palate) spectacle in the AJO.. Ambiance, wine recommendation and the mega AJO platter were great, service was great as usual, the “bonnet” on top, the eggnog foam with the walnut parfaitals desert! Next visit is already booked, thank you for such a culinary delight!

The three of us were here for dinner today. The ambience is very nice, but it would be more harmonious if the service ladies were recognizable by wearing a uniform T-shirt, for example. The food tastes delicious - the portions are huge to justify the price.

Ambience very nice!! Food is great, freshly prepared! Unfortunately we had to wait 55 minutes for food. As an “apology” there was a rude comment from the waitress. Service is poor, no one asks about empty glasses, food is cleared away even though people are still eating at the table. Overall expensive, but more must be offered!!

Wow wow wow! Highly recommended steak restaurant in the beautiful spa town. Be sure to reserve in advance (you can do this online). The interior is really beautifully decorated, lots of wood, great tables and tasteful decorations. It's nice outside too, but it was a bit too cold for us (in May) in the evenings. If you want to eat something, you should make a reservation for 8:30 p.m. at the latest, as orders are taken at 9 p.m. Service was personable, attentive and professional. And the food is a dream! The fillet trio and the zander are highly recommended. We'll be back 🥳

We got a place at very short notice because we were flexible in terms of time. My husband's steak was very tasty, well seasoned and the price was right. I had gratinated loin, the taste of the loin was very good, but the sauce was really very salty and I couldn't eat it either. I told the boss, she said her food is always well seasoned, you should tell me beforehand that you don't like it want spicy. For me, spicy and salty are significant differences, and they don't tell me that they prepare a special sauce for every taste. Would have at least expected an apology or an espresso. We didn't think the behavior was okay at these prices.

Got a place last night at short notice because we were flexible with the time. We were really happy about it. My husband ate a steak that was very tasty and spicy. I had baked pork fillets, which tasted good, but the sauce was very salty. I asked the boss about it and she just said that her food is always very spicy, and if you don't want that you should specify that when you order. You won't want to tell me that they add extra seasoning for each guest. Spicy and salty are significant differences😒. For these prices I would have expected at least an apology or an espresso. We were amazed. We attach great importance to good food and came across Ajo by chance. What we experienced here was magnificent. Very good service, a select menu... and the result on the plate... or in the pan... gigantic!!! The quality and preparation was terrific! ... Thank you for that!

We were at Ajo' on Saturday and I have to say it was fantastic!!! The food was delicious 😋 and the steaks were cooked to perfection. Here you can tell that the meat quality is excellent. The service there was just great! The people are so nice and everyone can see how much fun they have at their job. Although we arrived a little later, our table was kept free and we were greeted very nicely and warmly. The ambience is also beautiful, very stylish and decorated with love. Food is an absolute dream. The price is also okay, cheap is of course something else, but for me the price/performance is definitely right here. The new restaurant is also very attractive and spacious, so that you are at a comfortable distance from the other guests (not a given!). Beautiful restaurant, classy and rustic. Beautiful half-timbering, fits the theme perfectly. Rump steak was buttery soft and tender, chewing was almost unnecessary. Fillet steak also super tasty, price is reasonable.

High prices but extremely good garlic soup and entrecote... was a dream. It was my first time there and I will definitely come again. Reservation was absolutely necessary. It was a perfect meal... it couldn't be better. Thanks!
