Those expecting a traditional pub may be disappointed; the focus here is on a convivial evening with the proprietor. There's no menu, and drinks are priced at about 50% of standard restaurant prices. As an added treat, constantly changing theater performances are offered several times a year. A restaurant for connoisseurs of an authentic atmosphere, but not for gourmets or gourmands.

Regional and seasonal, traditional yet modern, consistently high quality at current, but rather moderate prices. Good service and refined cuisine. The ambiance is a blend of modern and cozy. I would suggest more than 4 stars. The Löwen is a real asset to the city center and the entire surrounding area.
