Achtern Diek in Schönberg (Holstein)

How are these prices calculated?! For example, over €18 (!) for a "gyro"... All the other dishes are also ridiculously overpriced... I give this place a maximum of one year if their pricing policy doesn't change.

Random hits on the day of arrival: - the waiter was very friendly and hit just the right tone - the food was really very good - the clientele consisted of holidaymakers and locals - dogs allowed Great little restaurant with good food and very friendly staff.

Different pictures of the food were shown online, and I was very disappointed with the quality. The liver was unfortunately grilled black and dry, as was the safari. The best were the fries and the tzatziki.

Very unfriendly staff, poor selection of vegetarian/vegan dishes. There are much better restaurants in the area.

Everything was top-notch! We dined at METEORA twice within a week and were very satisfied both times with the quality of the various dishes and the perfectly adequate portion sizes. We were also very pleased with the friendly and attentive service. We had very humorous conversations with both the manager and the waitress, thank you again for that! 😉 The bottom line: the price-performance-quality-service is absolutely excellent! 👍🏼

Just what I'd expect from a Greek restaurant: lots of meat, delicious vegetables, and side dishes with a generous helping of ouzo; and everyone who attended smelled like a gorilla the next day. Very tasty, keep it up.

We were there today despite the bad reviews, and all we can say is, everything was top-notch! Super fast and incredibly friendly service, perfect food, and they even accommodated our special request for a cola wheat beer, even though it wasn't on the menu and they didn't even know about it. 😀 The tzatziki was incredibly delicious and even better than at our favorite Greek restaurant back home. So, we absolutely don't understand the bad reviews! Keep it up, it was great! 🙂

We came here for dinner, including our dog. No problems so far. But it started with the drinks: spilled latte macchiato, no sugar offered. The waiter was very awkward. The atmosphere was cold and unfriendly. The food in general was so-so. My husband said the liver was good, but the gyro was covered in white onions, the rice was a blob of peas and carrots with no seasoning, the meat - pork - was totally dry, and the tzatziki was stretched with white onions. In general it may be okay, but not worth repeating for me. Especially not at those prices.

Highly recommended! Generous portions at a reasonable price. We ordered a Meteora plate for two. It was delicious, and it included dessert. You have to be really hungry, otherwise you won't be able to finish the plate. 😀

We visited the restaurant shortly after it opened. We were greeted very warmly by a very cheerful waiter and received excellent, if somewhat awkward, service. The food was delicious and freshly prepared, just as we've come to expect from Greeks. Yesterday we had something to celebrate and decided to treat ourselves there. It was mid-afternoon. We entered the restaurant and were the only customers. Behind the counter was a woman who greeted us very grumpily and without a smile. She then took our order in an easily accessible manner. After about half an hour, the ordered food was served without even a bon appetit wish. We quickly realized that it was nothing like the food from our first visit. The meat was very dry, the fries very sticky. The lamb chop was very tough and dry. The gyro felt like it had been reheated from the day before. Meanwhile, it started to rain heavily. A woman with her grandchild came in and asked if they could have a drink. The grumpy barmaid answered very sparingly, and the woman had trouble placing her order because the barmaid made no attempt to leave her seat behind the counter and go to the table. It was done by shouting. Meanwhile, tables and chairs were being set up for a shared meal for employees and family. The boss appeared, sat down at the table, and began eating. He took no notice of his guests at all. Not a glance, not a greeting. I had already prepared a few words for when the question came up when paying if everything was okay. But the question never came. After my husband signaled that we wanted to pay, the amount was announced to us from a distance. We didn't hear it, and the lady then went to our table. We will, of course, not visit this restaurant again. And of course, we won't recommend it to anyone, which we unfortunately did several times after our first visit. That wasn't typically Greek! 👎👎👎

This review concerns the previous restaurant, "Achtern Diek." It's a shame that what I'll remember here isn't the truly delicious food, but rather the incredibly dissatisfied host (owner?) who constantly complains about the lack of staff and the tourists who dare to come to the restaurant without prior reservations. I can understand that, we'd do it next time, too, but not again when you feel so completely unwelcome.

The tzatziki was served warm, with pepper. How can you come up with something like that? It would have been better if the appetizers had used Greek olive oil! The meat was dry and of poor quality; my wife ordered liver, which I've never seen before! The Greek food, of course, came with red onions, not the white onions. The food was simply heartlessly made, really bad, and you can tell you're not restaurateurs. I really wonder where these positive reviews come from? I'm never eating there with my family again!

When we arrived, it was raining. All the tables inside were occupied. They offered to open a parasol so we could eat outside. That was great. Unfortunately, neither the chairs nor the table were dried. Since we were very hungry, we sat down anyway. The spaghetti with Metaxa sauce was okay, but the portions were very small. The tzatziki was very spicy. The baguette that came with it tasted good. My husband got the wrong meal. They offered a replacement, but since we had already waited more than an hour for the food, he took the food that was brought to him. The rice tasted of nothing, and there was a hot pepper stalk in the middle of it. It looked like someone had eaten the hot pepper and the rest of it was in the rice. Very unpleasant. The fries were very salty, but the coleslaw was tasty. The second drink we ordered never arrived. When we wanted to pay, we had to wait another 10 minutes. It wasn't full, but the waitress was completely overwhelmed and wanted to charge a table who actually wanted to order dessert. It's a shame, but it's very expensive for the quality, quantity, and service.

We booked a table for 4 adults and 2 children at short notice today, which was confirmed, but unfortunately we were 5 minutes late and were immediately harassed. We even persuaded 2 more adults to come to the restaurant "as an apology," but apparently there weren't enough seats available. Everything was empty - they could have easily put tables together. The argument "only 1 person in the kitchen" is fine, but threatening us with a 1.5-hour wait in front of all the guests and practically blaming us for the delay of a missing table is outrageous and a complete lack of service. We left. I can't rate the food, but the price-performance ratio and the selection were good at first glance. Thanks for the nothing. What a shame. The sales went elsewhere, where we were welcomed in a friendly and short-term manner.

Well... the food was average, the rice wasn't typically Greek. The salad was completely forgotten. The staff was overwhelmed. The prices were reasonable.

Unfortunately, the wait was long. The service was very attentive, apparently alone today. Food... yes, I had liver, it could have been grilled more. Some pieces weren't cooked properly. The fries and rice had been on the plate for a while and were therefore no longer hot. The restaurant has potential if they have a strategy.

We've eaten there twice in four days, and it was absolutely worth it. The food was truly delicious, and the staff were super friendly, hard-working, and had a great sense of humor. We were extremely satisfied and can absolutely recommend it without reservation. When we're back in California, we'll definitely go back.

We were looking forward to a nice meal in the evening. It started well, as they assigned us a good table with our dog. We had been impressed by the reviews beforehand, but they were from the old restaurant. The service wasn't exactly the epitome of friendliness. The moussaka was inedible. The gyro was also a bit bland. We would have drunk more if we had been served. So if you want to survive there, you still have a lot to learn and change.

The service is very attentive and courteous. Cutlery was dropped at the neighboring table, and the waiter immediately brought new ones. The food is delicious and the value is good. We wish the owners all the best and hope the place continues to thrive. We highly recommend it 😊👍

According to the menu at Meteora Restaurant. We had gyros, and we enjoyed it. If it's convenient, we'll come back. We stopped in again today after a bike ride. The grilled pepperoni and Greek farmer's salad are delicious. You'll need to allow some time.

In any case Staff top If you like eating fish, this is the place for you...in the small beer garden you can enjoy one or two beers or a caraway I'll be back there soon

The kitchen can be highly praised and would have been a reason to come back. The innkeeper/waiter, who constantly complains about the staff situation in the kitchen and even forgets that customers want to pay (after the second request it went quickly) spoke against this and we were said goodbye at 8 p.m. with "have a nice lunch" 🤔

Hard to beat in terms of unfriendliness. If you want to make a reservation for six people, this is not possible for several days. Not even in advance. When you make visual contact, you react in an unfriendly manner and point to a "closed today" sign, even though it should actually be open and you just wanted to ask briefly whether a reservation, which you should make, would be possible. Honestly, there are so many other restaurants where the food tastes good and you are treated kindly. In addition, it doesn't smell good there in warm weather because there is probably some kind of septic tank or something similar diagonally opposite the toilet blocks.

The currywurst with a fruity component in the sauce is highly recommended, the flamed salmon with side dishes, if available, is also recommended. The Bernstein Schöneberg beer rounds off the visit.

Small cozy outdoor area. Very quick and friendly service. Nice host who knows his craft. We had currywurst and the schnitzel baked with tomato and cheese and a side salad. The salad was crisp and fresh with a delicious dressing. The fries that came with both dishes were excellent. The homemade pepper curry sauce with a subtle level of spiciness was just as delicious. The schnitzel was juicy with a crispy breading. An all-round successful evening in a beautiful northern German atmosphere. Here we go again.

Every year anew. We love this restaurant. Great service, very nice staff, the two ladies always had a smile on their faces, very polite and attentive and of course the boss too! The food is good German cuisine, very tasty and large portions. Fish eaters are also catered for. We will be back . Achtern Diek is part of a California vacation.

You can always go here with peace of mind. No schi-schi on the plate, decent portions at normal prices. From shrimp pans to classic currywurst, there is something for everyone.

We just wanted to eat something, it was just 7:45 p.m. The innkeeper said "There's nothing left today!" He's allowed to, but when asked "Where else can we go" the answer is "I don't know" luckily Google knows better! Ended up at Sapore. Great food and service

I've been there numerous times to eat for snacks or just to drink. Everything fits. Delicious food & drinks, the “boss” is great at explaining, lovely person. If I were to be in my beloved California more often, I would say "Achter'n Diek" over and over again :-) Until next time & thank you.

In der Hauptsaison werden da leider viele Kunden wieder weg geschickt. Preis-Leistung passt 😍 die Kids hatten Schnitzel mit Pommes und Fischnuggets, ich selbst Dorsch 😍 alles super lecker und frisch zubereitet ☺️ ... der Dorsch war mit 24€ etwas teurer, aber es lohnt sich und ich war pappensatt 😍 die Kinderportionen lagen bei knapp 8€ und haben ebenfalls gereicht ☺️

Essen war Top! Service naja für einen Urlaubsort erwarte ich mehr,mir fehlte die lockerheit.Der Außenbereich war sehr schön innen ein kleiner Sitzbereich aber sehr vollgestellt!Kann man hingehen geht aber besser.

Wir haben sehr lecker gegessen und Gottseidank vorher telefonisch reserviert… Preis-Leistung vollkommen in Ordnung, Hunde sind willkommen, das Personal ist freundlich und bemüht. Allerdings haben wir auch Situationen beobachtet, die einigen 1*-Bewertungen hier nahe kommen. Auch ist es uns nicht gelungen, eine weitere Reservierung für zwei Tage später vorzunehmen. Insgesamt aber eine Empfehlung wegen des guten Essens.

Niedliche, eingerichtete Familien Restaurant und Eisdiele auf der anderen Seite des Hauses. Im Restaurant bekamen wir nur noch Getränke, da die Küche um 20 Uhr schließt. Der Kellner /Besitzer unterhielt sich nett am Ende, erklärte uns wie schwer es ist Personal zu finden. Die Eisdiele ist echt super gut, das selbstgemachte Eis total lecker!! Sogar Zimt Eis und viele andere Sorten, bin begeistert.Nette Bedingung, Preis und Leistung stimmen. Kann ich gern weiter empfehlen...
