Loved the vibe of the place, the decoration was super nice. The food turned out way more delicious than I expected. I had the schnitzel with a dunkel, such a great combo!!!!

We visited the restaurant on the recommendation of a colleague. There is a selection of Rhineland beers, including those from Cologne. Our service was friendly but also very distant. The food offered a large selection of schnitzel and typical regional dishes. The beer was very tasty, my vegetarian dish was okay but nothing special, and my colleagues' schnitzels were good. The only annoying thing was that we were informed before paying that card payments were only possible once per table. Luckily, we had enough cash with us. Conclusion: only conditionally recommended. To be honest, I was disappointed and wouldn't go again.

Typical decor, good beer. Nice waitresses but the waiter who served us the dishes was very rude. Quality of food rather mediocre: cheese croquettes not bad, red cabbage, sauerkraut and mash really not great, overcooked beef, gelatinous gnocchi... We left without having dessert. Unable to pay by card. Edit: twice now the establishment, which clearly does not accept criticism, has filed a complaint against me with Google, first by insinuating that we have never visited them, then by attacking me for defamation! No luck: Google records all our trips, so I can prove that I was there on December 16, 2023 between 11:59 a.m. and 12:49 p.m. precisely and that my comment is honest, sincere and reflects our experience. If they do this with all the negative reviews, I understand why they have such a good rating.

We were just looking for such a place to eat and drink. Very nice and cozy. When we finally wanted to pay, it turned out that it was not possible with a Visa card. We were just 3 Euro short in cash. A little further on I withdrew money and paid without tip.

Kennen Sie das krachende Geräsch wenn man auf die Schwarte einer gegrillen Schweishaxe beisst? Danach entfaltet sich ein unglaubich intensives Aroma, was man so sonst bei keinem anderen Gericht erleben kann. Ein wunderbares Erlebnis. So etwas hatte ich erwartet, als ich im Aachener Brauhaus eine gegrillte Schweinshaxe bestellte. Nach ca. 4 Minuten wurde das Gericht serviert., was mir schon mal etwas unheimlich war. Statt der erträumten Geschmacksexplosion biss ich auf eine glibbrige Schweineschwartenmasse. Das Grillerlebnis wurde durch eine dunkelbraune Maggisauce kaschiert, die über die angeblich gegrillte Speise gegossen worden war. Ich sagte das dem Kellner, der mir versprach, das er das an den Koch weiterleiten würde. Inzwischen wurde mir der Produktionsprozess klar: Man kann eine gepökelte Schweishaxe kochen (Eisbein) oder Grillen (gegrillte Schweinshaxe) . Kochen ist einfacher und man kann dieses Produkt stundenlang im Kochwasser aufbewahren, darum erlebte ich zähe Fleischfasern. Beim Bezahlen kein Erlass, keine Entschuldigung, man ist ja so professionell und hat so etwas nicht nötig, Durchgangskundschaft halt. Prof. Dr. Günther Rötter

Nicely decorated German pub restaurant. The food arrived very fast and was tasty. The only downside is the service, perhaps because we are not German speakers and the waiter was very short with us and seemed annoyed when we wanted to pay with card. They do not offer contactless.

This restaurant is stingy and despicable, the waitstaff have a terrible attitude 1️⃣When my friend and I wanted to share food, which means we might need two extra plates, this restaurant actually said they would charge 1 euro per plate. I was laughing so hard; I've been to so many places in Europe and this is the first time I've encountered a place that charges for extra plates. The stringent nature of Germans is truly well-deserved 😅😅😅 2️⃣This restaurant does not support contactless payment methods, does not accept Visa or MasterCard, yet there's a POS machine clearly on the counter. I don't understand what kind of primitive place in the 21st century doesn't support mobile payments. What kind of inflexibility is this among Germans? 3️⃣Even if some small shops in Germany don't accept contactless payments for whatever unspoken reasons, what business is it of the boss if I find another customer in the store to exchange money? When they saw us preparing to exchange cash with another person in the store, they stopped us and said it's not allowed in Germany to exchange money with customers inside the store. Excuse me? If someone is willing to help me pay, they're solving a problem. I don't care about German rules, are Germans really this unwilling to help others? Moreover, the service attitude throughout was extremely poor. Every time we stood up from our seats, they would come over to stop us and say "please sit down on your seat and think about how you pay." In the end, they detained my friend in the store, and I had to randomly grab a college student on the street to exchange cash to pay successfully. 4️⃣The payment process was also very unfriendly. They threw the receipt on our seat and the staff ran off. After multiple attempts to wave and signal the staff to settle the bill, no one acknowledged me. So I went to the counter to ask if I could pay, and the staff very impatiently told us to go back to our seats and wait. I don't understand, I truly don't understand, what kind of money can't be received at the counter but only at the seat? So in summary, their POS-equipped counter is completely useless.

Disappointing experience!! Bad food, unfriendly service and discriminatory behavior!!!! After I passed this restaurant again I had to write this review with great disappointment. As someone who has lived in Germany for ten years, I have visited many German restaurants, but this experience was by far the worst. The quality of the food, the service and the treatment of the guests were far below my expectations. Food quality is terrible: The knuckle: This was the worst knuckle I have ever eaten. The meat was extremely tough and completely tasteless. It seemed like it was just cooked, tasted like it had no seasoning at all or no cooking at all. The Schnitzel: Equally disappointing. The schnitzel was completely overcooked, dry and hard. It lacked any juiciness and tenderness that you would expect from a 1st good schnitzel. These dishes did not represent German cuisine or traditions well. 2.Unfriendly service: The service was extremely unfriendly and even seemed discriminatory. As a Chinese, I felt like I wasn't being treated fairly. This behavior is absolutely unacceptable. When we requested additional small plates for our meal we were charged 4 euros for this. 3.Overall impression: From the food to the service to the respect for guests, this restaurant disappointed in every way. A German restaurant should embody hospitality and culinary traditions, but this one offered exactly the opposite :( I chose this restaurant based on the many positive reviews. However, based on my experience, I seriously doubt that these reviews are authentic. It's hard to believe that a restaurant with such poor quality and unfriendly service can receive so many positive reviews. I think it's possible that these reviews were manipulated but yes, I'll never come back but I still hope that the management takes this criticism seriously and takes appropriate action. As a long-time resident of Germany, I expect passion for good food and respect for guests - and not such a disappointing experience.

Today I had meatloaf with fried potatoes. I had to complain because I only had about 80 grams of meat loaf on my plate. The waitress said they were only human. Someone accidentally cut the meat loaf too thin. But trained service staff don't bring something like that to the table. Then, in addition to the slice that was much too thin, I got a second one that was just as thin. Instead of red cabbage, I wanted a salad. It was promised, but not delivered. I found the price of 17.90 more than sporty. Won't go there anymore.

Cuando estoy en Aquisgrán aquí es donde siempre como. Si quieres un schnitzel de sabor grande esta es una buena opción. Me pareció excelente el servicio una vez sentado. Tomé un buñuelo con un schnitzel acompañado de espaguetis y col roja. ¡Creo que me desplegué! Situado a unas dos cuadras del centro antiguo, este sigue siendo un gran lugar para comer.

I went back to Germany to meet with my relatives and came to this restaurant but the experience was very bad. And they will steal your credit card information and add some unnecessary fees. When they needed the menu, they threw it right in my face. I took my 80 year old grandmother with me because she needed time to read the menu, but they pushed me very impatiently. When I asked them to apologize, they were very angry as they said, "Our restaurant is not for the elderly to eat."

Always nice to go to Degraa. Very cozy brewery atmosphere, fast and good service and then the food... As befits a brewery, hearty and great. However, you should make a reservation in advance as it is already busy during the week. Clear recommendation for a visit.

Staff are unfriendly and claim that it is only possible to pay with cash, even though there is a Bancontact box available. Atmosphere is great, really beautiful inside and food was a bit mediocre, schnitzels were tasty but the potato salad was less tasty than expected.

Traditional Brauhaus, food on the table quickly and was of average quality. Nothing special by the way. I come to many of these types of establishments and this one has been substandard so far. In terms of food, I don't recommend anything, you can eat much better at home.

We arrived at 12:30 and was checking if any child seat/table for 4 availabe. However, there are very limited space for child seat, the whole lobby area has only 1 table which they can put the child seat. The inner part of the restaurant might have chance but it was full. In any case, the conversation made me uncomfortable and I did not feel being welcomed to the restaurant with a child (from the attitude of the conversation). It is fine that we did not have to have a meal here, it is a pity that the attitude was something making our family uncomfortable. It could be a very individual or personal experience.

We made a reservation at noon for the evening. They said 20h and when we arrived they said it was 18h. Shame on them.

The pub with tradition in Aachen. One of the last or the last!?! Definitely one of those restaurants on the continent or in the whole world that f/m/d must have been to at least once in their life. The food is simply delicious, the drinks flow and the service does everything to ensure the guests' satisfaction. Happy to the one who gets a place! Plan to come back. Despite Christmas business, the telephone order (for pickup) worked well and quickly. Everything was well packaged and therefore still hot when it arrived. It was very very good. Plenty of roast meat with delicious sauce, dumplings and red cabbage also very tasty. Very friendly staff too.

While passing through Aix la Chapelle we had the pleasure of eating hearty and delicious cuisine with good local beer. the service was impeccable despite the language barrier. We will come back for sure.

My sister “wanted” to invite us to the Brauhaus Aachen for her birthday, having come all the way from Cologne, and had reserved a table there. When I entered, the first thing I noticed was a sign informing me that card payments were not possible at the moment. Sorry, but signs like this always give me a strange feeling! There we stood, and at first we weren't noticed at all. A woman typed something into the cash register and didn't even look at us. Meanwhile, a DHL courier arrived with packages that he wanted to get rid of. The woman then yelled at him to please read where the packages were supposed to go (apparently in the bar, the door of which was in the entrance area where we were still waiting). The messenger knocked on the door, where a very unfriendly woman also opened the door. The messenger tried to ask in broken German whether he was in the right place, whereupon the woman very flippantly told the messenger not to use her first name. After this unpleasant incident, a man finally came to point out to us in an unfriendly manner that we should wait in the entrance area. We then left the restaurant upset and went to another restaurant. It's a shame that the employees in this restaurant are so lacking in friendliness. A quick “Hello” and “Unfortunately it’s still going to take a while” would have been more than enough. Other restaurants do this just fine!!!

Luego te hacen correr a buscar un cambio de moneda (probablemente están en problemas con ellos, ya que el tipo de cambio no es muy bueno) como si fueras una especie de mendigo. Entonces el camarero gruñón y grosero pone cara cuando expresas tu descontento y te da un cambio 10 euros corto, alias te roba el dinero. Aléjate de este lugar de mierda.

Unbelievably good houseman's and good wheat beer. If you are in Aachen, you should absolutely visit this place. Meat dishes are the focus but there were some vegetarian options when I was there. It was a bit unclear if they took cards last time so have cash

We were greeted friendly. The place was packed and the staff were on their toes. Drinks and food came quickly. Unfortunately we didn't receive any cutlery and had to complain. Special requests are not fulfilled and orders for 3rd toilets are simply ignored. The portions - dumplings, sauerbraten - are very manageable and the price/performance ratio is not right here. Sauerbraten, the meat was dry and tough. No recommendation for the restaurant/listed dishes. 4 stars for the spinach dumplings, but too small; Sauerbraten 1 star. Every housewife can do that better.

Customer for 50 years, including my father, but the establishment is now going under extremely quickly. Extremely bad, grumpy, unfriendly and uninterested staff. Paying cash for several months now. That was unknown, but fortunately there are 5 ATMs within 150-300 meters. The staff gets angry if you didn't see that. (an A4 with instructions at the entrance, there were still a few hanging there, people think that everyone reads them first before entering). I think we'll wait and see before we go back, this doesn't have a long term effect. Finally, the food, house beer a 10 on a scale of 10. Food this summer a 7, now a 5.5. Definitely not a quick recommendation anymore.

Unfortunately, mussels were no longer available at 7:45 p.m. When we wanted to order dessert (tiramisu) at 8:50 p.m. we were told the kitchen was already closed. The pork knuckle was ok, but not really crispy on the outside. Drinks are more expensive than usual in Aachen. Payment by cell phone is not accepted. However, there is an inconspicuously placed information sign at the entrance. All in all for tourists. We won't be coming back.
