38 Grad – Café und Restaurant im Thermalbad Aukammtal in Wiesbaden

Today was our first time at 38Grad. I had reserved a table by phone, which seemed like it wasn't a very common practice (yet), but it worked out perfectly. When we arrived at the thermal baths, we had to find the entrance. A friendly person from the restaurant then led us through a sliding door, and we were shown to the terrace. Making a reservation was a good idea, as the bathers were also taking advantage of the nice weather, and outdoor seating was limited. Inside, it unfortunately has the charm of a typical swimming pool bistro. We embraced it, though, and had a truly excellent meal. The staff was attentive and friendly, and the food was delicious and fresh. You can pay in cash directly at the table, but if you want to pay with a debit card, you have to get a wristband at the swimming pool entrance and load the chip onto it. But I hadn't expected it to be so lovely, despite the crowded pool. We'll definitely be back!

Great sauna and swimming pool restaurant with delicious dishes for every taste. The price-performance ratio is good, as the portions are generous. I especially appreciate the selection of Rapp spritzers and Dallmayr teas. The pizza is delicious, and yesterday I had the cold tomato soup from the daily specials menu; it's highly recommended and reasonably priced at €7.50. The staff in both pool areas are very friendly and also child-friendly. Keep up the good work! 👍

Simply outraged by the staff's rudeness...the customer is not king here...The food is canteen-style and far too expensive...

The selection isn't as extensive as it used to be. I miss the Swiss salad, for example. Otherwise, it's okay.

The outdoor seating is quite pleasant. Sitting inside is a matter of taste. I wouldn't want to sit inside, as it doesn't have the feel of a real café or restaurant, but rather like a canteen. The prices are unreasonably high. Other restaurants and cafés outside the Aukamm thermal baths offer more affordable prices in better or more attractive locations, with continuous service, including for outdoor seating. They, too, have higher energy costs and increased food expenses. For these reasons, we won't be going back to the Aukamm Café. A negative point is that, as a non-smoker on the small outdoor terrace, you're constantly surrounded by smokers. This should be prohibited. Since you're eating and drinking in such a small space in the fresh air, you don't want to be inhaling nicotine as well. Everywhere else in the food service industry, smokers have to use designated smoking areas. That's another reason not to go there again. People, go somewhere else where it's enjoyable, the prices are reasonable, and the staff actually serve you, are friendly, and in a good mood. And where non-smokers aren't bothered by smokers' cigarette smoke. That's my/our opinion.

We always enjoyed the currywurst with fries for around 8.90 But to charge another 3 euros for the sauce is pretty outrageous

There is one star for the service behind the counter and one for the fact that the food was edible. However, the prices charged here are disproportionate to the quality produced. Basically, the basic salad only consists of leaf lettuce and the side dishes mentioned on the menu, such as cucumber etc., are only sparsely available. The price is already too high for that. If you want something else like chicken breast etc., the price goes up significantly. 22 euros for a salad with salmon is a real number. The present must also be correct, which I don't see, especially with the basic salad. There is also no slice of bread or baguette. In addition, the corn was missing from one salad, while the other had corn on it even though it wasn't supposed to be there. What bothers me most is that people tell you to put your number on the table. But we didn't receive these. The thermal baths are definitely worth a visit. But we prefer to cater for ourselves in the future. Too bad! Because basically we are willing to spend money if we are given the appropriate amount. The food was edible, but below standard and therefore too expensive.

The Aukammbad is great, and the food in the bistro there has been good so far, and the prices are reasonable. However, there have been two price increases within a very short period of time. The result: the new price increases for the restaurant there are absolutely outrageous: soups start at €10.50, a goulash soup even costs €16 (!); a baked potato with herb quark is €10, with salmon: €22 (!). Sorry, but those are the prices for a gourmet temple, not for a meal at a swimming pool or sauna! The prices are at least 20-30% too high. I will not eat anything there from now on until the prices are reduced to normal levels. FYI: the Aukammbad staff unfortunately cannot change this, as the restaurant is run by an external tenant.

The food is made from fresh ingredients and so far it has always been tasty. For a snack after swimming station number one.

Wir waren zu viert und hatten 3 verschiedene Frühstück. Jedes war richtig lecker. Das nächste Mal probieren wir die Brote.

I don't understand the negative reviews with less than 3 stars. For me one of the best restaurants in thermal baths. And I know some. The food has been great since January. The service is usually very good. Unfortunately, one of the employees is a bit moody. Sometimes nice, sometimes rude. Seems to be due to the lack of a cigarette break ;-). The daily menu is varied with delicious dishes. The price-performance ratio is good and the menu has something to suit every taste and budget. A highlight, among other things, is the breakfast for two. Special requests are fulfilled. The waiting times are sometimes a little longer, but this cannot be avoided as long as the restaurant downstairs also has to supply the sauna bar upstairs.

Ordered pasta with tomato sauce and stated when ordering that it should be WITHOUT parmesan. After a very long wait, pasta with parmesan was served. In addition, there were small pieces of minced meat left in the sauce that was labeled vegetarian! Unfortunately, this also suggests to me the poor hygiene condition of this kitchen. We'll probably never eat here again

Very nice and friendly service who kept calm even when there was a lot of people. Food was tasty and ready very quickly. Price performance is very good!

Everything was good, service top

A new team has been in the restaurant for a few weeks. Now we can only report positive things. The menu is very varied. New, very tasty dishes are offered every week and are fun to try. We really enjoy coming back and are looking forward to our day at the beach. Keep it up.

Since the team change, it's been fun to eat something there again. The price-performance ratio is right again. The food is extremely tasty and attractively prepared. A new topic every week, so it's worth trying out. Since everything is made with crisp, fresh ingredients, the waiting time is worth it.

I remembered “38 degrees” better. The dishes (penne arrabiata, baked potato with salmon) were tasty and the portions were sufficient - but the waiting time was simply unacceptable (about 45 minutes)! The “icing on the cake” was that when I asked where our order was (after a good half hour) I got a stupid answer. It used to work better. Why is the food no longer taken to the sauna bistro by elevator? Conclusion: The service here still has a lot of room for improvement.

Staff obviously don't want to do anything at all. I had new hopes with a new tenant, but that was the last money I left there. A pity

Ein neuer bezaubernder Laden. Einrichtung super, Personal trotz hoher Auslastung freundlich und aufmerksam. Essen war sehr frisch( nur die Bowle sehr kalt) . Gute Auswahl an Speisen. Von süß bis herzhaft. Nur die Heizung könnte man ein wenig aufdrehen. Ich brauche keine 21 grad, aber 19 Grad wäre nett.

I think the first hour of waiting for the fries special is too long. Later I understood why that was so. The 38 degree bar in the swimming pool area also serves the bar in the sauna area and the dishes (plates without lids 🤔) are brought to the bar through the changing room upstairs for the sauna area. On the one hand, I feel sorry for the service staff, but also for the guests. That can't be right, can it?...

Habe gestern einen leckeren Salat gegessen

In einem Gericht von über 12 Euro wird Konservengemüse verwendet. Ein Stückchen Torte kostet 3.80 und war ebenfalls dem äußeren und Geschmack nach von der Gefriertruhe. Das sind nur 2 Beispielen, von zig Versuchen, diesem Betrieb eine Chance zu geben. Die Preise entsprechen überhaupt nicht der Leistung. Ist es ein Imbiss, der Restaurantpreise ausruft, aber die Güte vermissen lässt. Ich werde mir daher snacks mitbringen müssen. Das Ambiente ist auch lieblos gestaltet. Das Personal ist jedoch überwiegend freundlich.

Wir gehen des öfteren in die Sauna oder mit unserem Enkel ins Thermalbad. Dabei verzehren wir immer zwischendurch etwas im Restaurant. Bisher sind wir mit den unterschiedlichen Speisen sehr zufrieden. Vor allem das Personal ist freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ich habe schon in verschiedenen Thermen gegessen. Hier gefällt es mir am besten. Die Geschmäcker sind unterschiedlich, aber wir gehen gerne hier etwas essen und trinken.

Top Service: Seit Jahren gehen meine Familie und ich ins Thermalbad. Im Restaurant arbeitet ein neuer junger Mitarbeiter, schnell, höflich und ruhig. Was uns aber fasziniert hatte, obwohl der junge Mann anscheinend in 3 Bereiche gleichzeitig arbeitet, nimmt er sich Zeit Gäste des Bades, Koffer die Treppen hoch zu helfen, oder gar Speisen für "eingeschränkte" Menschen bissfertig zu schneiden. Das Essen ist zwar etwas überteuert, aber bei so einem Service kommen wir immer wieder gern!

Keine Kuchenauswahl, die Speisen und Getränke für ein Schwimmbad sind überteuert. Man sieht es auch an den Gästen, die werden immer weniger. Das war bei dem vorherigen Besitzer alles besser. Mußte mal gesagt werden. Wir sind nicht die einzigen von den Stammgästen, die so denken.

Sehr freundliche Bedienung und sehr gutes Essen besonders für eine Gastronomie im Schwimmbad/Therme. Selten so gut in einem Bad gegessen top Weiter so 👍

Essen und Kaffee echt lecker. Aber Wartezeit sehr lange. Beim ersten Mal hatten wir Frühstück bestellt und 1 Stunde gewartet um dann zu erfahren, dass es vergessen wurde. Heute wollten wir Kaffee, wieder 20 min. Gewartet, weil die Maschine noch nicht an war. Sehr schade, so kann man sich Kunden auch vergraulen.
