1857. niederrheinisches Wirtshaus in Tönisvorst

Sehr freundlicher und kompetenter Service. Das Essen kam zeitnah, war nett angerichtet und schmackhaft. Seit langem mal wieder hausgemachtes Mousse au chocolat gegessen...lecker. Leider lässt für Hörbehinderte die Akkustik im Saal zu wünschen übrig. Hier könnte man evtl. nachbessern mit entsprechender Wanddeko.

Die Qualität des Essens ist zweifelsohne völlig in Ordnung. Es ist jedoch bedenklich, wenn man nicht gesättigt, trotz Nachspeise, nach Hause geht. Dafür ist der Preis auch eindeutig zu hoch. Sehr schade!

Essen ist ok - preislich etwas erhöht finde ich - ansonsten kann man das mal machen. Es gibt allerdings gute andere Optionen, die bei gleicher Qualität und Leistung, preislich attraktiver sind. Trotzdem ganz ok.

Die junge Dame als Bedienung war sehr freundlich & zuvorkommend. Preise sind okay, teilweise für die Getränke aber sehr teuer.

Schon oft dort mit mehreren Personen gespeist,wie auch am 25.04. Da waren wir mit 7 Personen und haben es uns gut gehen lassen. Der Spargel mit Zanderfilet war super Klasse.Das Paprikaschnitzel war on Point gebraten,die Sauce schön frisch,lediglich die Pommes waren mir persönlich eine Spur zu kross. Das geschnetzelte mit den Spätzle kam ebenso gut an wie auch die Haxe. Dazu Bedienungen die stets aufmerksam waren und sich ein Trinkgeld redlich verdient haben. Wir kommen garantiert wieder sobald es wärmer wird und man prima im Außenbeleuchtung sitzen kann👍👍👍

Waren gestern ( Donnerstags) zu Zweit dort. Dienstags online Reserviert . War auch nötig weil sehr gut besucht. Das Essen war sehr gut , extrawünsche wurden gern erfüllt. Service war sehr nett ,zuvorkommend und immer aufmerksam. Wir kommen also auf jedenfall wieder und das sicherlich nicht alleine . Preise für unser Essen / Abend völlig ok .

Waren Sonntag mit Hund unangemeldet eingetrudelt und uns wurde trotz vieler Reservierungen noch ein Tisch ermöglicht. Bedienung Natascha brachte auch gleich einen Napf mit Wasser - ganz selten so erlebt. Essen sehr lecker. Gerade das Schaschlik schon lange nicht mehr gegessen. Schön es mal auf einer Wirtshauskarte wieder zu finden. Sosse erinnerte eher an klassische Paprikasosse, sicherlich war das Schaschlik nicht drin gezogen - Dennoch sehr lecker. Rösti mit Lachs auch ansprechend. Tolle Bedienung. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Gestern haben wir unsere Goldhochzeit hier im 1857.Wirtshaus gefeiert und sind überaus begeistert. Unsere Gäste ebenfalls. Alles hat ganz toll geklappt. Der Raum im Obergeschoss war wie für unsere Gesellschaft geschaffen und wurde nach unseren Wünschen hergerichtet. Das Essen war hervorragend von der Vorspeise, dem individuellen Hauptgericht für jeden Einzelnen bis hin zum Dessert. Ein großes Lob auch für die sehr nette und freundliche Bedienung, die stets zur Stelle war und immer hilfreich zur Seite stand. Wir würden jederzeit das 1857.Wirtshaus für eine Feier wieder wählen.

Das Essen ist super lecker. Wir würden uns wünschen das es mehr Auswahl für den kleinen Hunger bzw. kleinere Portionen bzw. eine Auswahl für Senioren (Die nicht mehr viel Essen können) geben würde oder es mehr Auswahl an Vorspeisen gibt. Wenn man den Rest mit nach Hause nimmt, schmeckt es halt nicht mehr so wie im Lokal (wegschmeißen ist nicht Nachhaltig).

Das Hähnchengeschnetzelte war geschmacklich gut. Leider war es auf Spätzle angerichtet, die in Öl schwammen! Deshalb nur 2 Sterne fürs Essen. Schade!!

Das Hauptessen war völlig in Ordnung, geschmacklich okay, allerdings preislich etwas zu hoch angesetzt im Vergleich zu anderen Wirtshäusern – aber noch im Rahmen. Der Service war ebenfalls okay, aber nichts Besonderes. Freundlich, aber ohne Highlights. Sehr enttäuscht waren wir allerdings vom Nachtisch: 10,50 € für einen Kaiserschmarrn, der von der Größe her nicht mal einem halben Pfannkuchen entsprach – also wirklich eine Mini-Portion für den Preis. Auch der Apfelstrudel für 10,50 € war sehr klein (ca. 2 cm breit) Ob er wirklich hausgemacht war, konnten wir nicht erkennen – wir hätten eher nein gesagt. Fazit: Hauptessen und Service sind in Ordnung, aber die Desserts sind preislich absolut nicht gerechtfertigt. Dafür würden wir nicht noch einmal bestellen.

Ein Wirtshaus wie man es sich wünscht. Vielleicht etwas moderner, als man es erwarten würde. Wirklich sehr ordentliches Essen und vor allem super aufmerksame, aber nicht aufdringliche Mitarbeiter. Sehr, sehr nett. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis passt absolut. Ein prima Ort zum einkehren. Um Abends hier essen zu gehen, besser reservieren. Daumen hoch 👍🏼

I invited guests there for my birthday. The food was good, the portions almost too large. The service was excellent, no complaints there. The ambiance could use some improvement. It was quite loud and a bit too sterile for a pub.

We had a fantastic evening in a lovely setting with truly excellent food at the inn. First-class service with Lower Rhine charm – highly recommended! Our choice: Mussels Rhine-style & Rump Steak cooked rare

I was there for lunch on October 29, 2025. I had liver Berlin style. The service was very good. The food was served very quickly and tasted excellent. I cannot understand the reviews complaining about small portions at all. My portion was so generous that I couldn't finish it. Large portions were also served at the next table. If I'm ever in Tönisvorst again, I will definitely eat at this Lower Rhine inn again.

We ate there with a larger group. The staff is really friendly, but the service isn't quite as quick. There's still room for improvement. The bread for the appetizer didn't taste as freshly sliced. Additionally, the birthday girl (my grandma) received her meal a long way after the last dish served (about 10 minutes later). The value for money isn't entirely satisfactory due to the portion sizes, but it's generally delicious. The house burger, however, was very good!

We ate here yesterday and sat outside. We were served by a very friendly waitress. When my cordon bleu arrived, I thought, "I didn't order a child's portion." The second waitress, who brought the food and was asked about it, simply said, "I'm sorry." The first waitress reported the complaint to the kitchen, whereupon a third waitress placed a bowl of more fried potatoes on the table without making eye contact. We won't be coming back for a while. Small portions at exorbitant prices. (A half-full plate for just under €22!) Thank goodness there are better restaurants in this regard.

I'm a little disappointed. The food didn't live up to our expectations at all. If you order a spit roast, I expect that, not pork with an onion sauce. The cordon bleu wasn't that great either. The steak followed suit, and the tarte flambée was also mediocre. Our waitress gave me a sudden hearing loss from the loudness she spoke. In conclusion, you can go there, but don't have as high expectations as you did some time ago.

The four of us enjoyed the meal very much, but we wouldn't have been full without the appetizer and dessert. The Kaiserschmarrn was very fluffy, but there weren't any pieces of vanilla pulp in the vanilla sauce. The service was friendly, but a bit loud in her accent.

We made a reservation for two people the day before without any problems. The food (schnitzel) exceeded our expectations. It tasted very good and was more than sufficient in quantity. It was served within a short time. Furthermore, the plates were very carefully prepared. The salad was fresh and dressed with a delicious dressing. The ingredients are of high quality, which is evident both in the look and the taste. The affogati were excellent. Both the espresso and the ice cream, which refused to fully merge with the coffee, were a dream. The waitresses, two ladies in our case, were very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean and very nice, but unfortunately, it was a bit too loud. The noise was coming from the guests in the entrance area. Next time, we'll sit in the large dining area; perhaps the noise from the entrance area won't reach us as intensely. Apart from the noise, everything was perfect!

Anyone craving good, home-cooked food will definitely get their money's worth here! A modern and very clean restaurant with friendly and very attentive staff. In summer, you can also sit outside in the back courtyard and sip an Aperol. The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. The portion sizes could be a bit larger, but we definitely didn't leave hungry (tip: the Kaiserschmarrn for dessert is worth it :-) ) We will be back and are already looking forward to feasting on the regular menu as well as the seasonal daily specials.

I was there yesterday. The pork knuckle is fantastic. With gravy, sauerkraut, and mashed potatoes, €21.50. I wanted a knuckle ☝️ without any side dishes to go. The price was also €21.50. Aside from the fact that I'm a regular, this kind of behavior is a disgrace! I'm extremely disappointed! A response would probably be appropriate...

An update is needed! The weeks of downtime were difficult, but everyone made it through. And the motivation of the staff is so high that it's a pleasure to be your guests. Opinions differ within my family, but I'm grateful that you're here and I'm looking forward to a great summer with you! We haven't been guests at Haus Wirichs for many years, but thanks to the takeover, we're back, and our bowling club has also been welcomed. After work and thanks to the children we looked after, we went out for something to eat as a couple! The service was very accommodating and always had a casual but friendly comment on her lips. The two burgers we ordered came very quickly and tasted great! The portions were also more than decent. So the price-performance ratio is right for us! We will definitely come back. I ate at the pub more often. The service is very friendly and accommodating. The food has been tasty so far, although the portions are quite manageable; the salad in particular seems overpriced. However, on my last visit my burger was cold inside! So it was simply warmed up, not freshly prepared, that's not possible.

Obwohl die Spargelwoche beworben wurde, war bereits am Ostersamstag um 18 Uhr der Spargel ausgegangen. . Es gab nur noch Spargelcremesuppe und Spargelsalat mit Krabben, Erdbeeren und Bärlauch. Das geht gar nicht. Wir sind extra zum Spargelessen dorthin gegangen und hatten einen Tisch reserviert, aber nicht extra vorab Spargel bestellt.Die Aufsteller mit dem Spargelangebot standen auch noch draußen. Wenn wir nicht mit 6 Personen gewesen wären, wäre ich wieder gegangen.

To be honest, I don't like being the spoilsport. In this case, however, and because it is almost the only option in St.Tönis to eat home-style, it has to be: I have been a guest at the restaurant three times in the past 9 months. We sat inside twice (October and November) and once outside on Marktstrasse in March 25. Apart from the fact that the noise in the interior is more than annoying and intrusive (which the owners can't do anything about), the food is actually a disgrace. What is boastfully and full-bodiedly advertised on the menu comes to the plate as partially finished product. “Grilled Mushrooms” appetizer with jarred mushrooms; Croquettes or sauces that most likely come from the metro, etc. None of this would be a problem if the prices weren't exorbitantly exorbitant for this quality. This is disrespectful to the people of St. Töniser and no comparison to the former tenants. The service is nice, but often very, very "flaky" and annoyed, which can still be perceived as nonchalant in the "Füchschen" in Düsseldorf, but not in a restaurant in St.Tönis. All in all: No recommendation.

Like being welcomed home. Everyone was very friendly and laughed with us. As soon as a glass was empty, people politely asked if it could have anything else. My meat was a bit tough at first, so I immediately got a new piece. The food was plentiful and tasty.

We were there with a group. Food was excellent. I had schnitzel with mushroom sauce and fried potatoes and the chocolate mousse. Schnitzel was well fried. Mushroom sauce was delicious with lots of mushrooms. Fried potatoes were very good. Additional mushrooms were also very tasty. The chocolate mousse and vanilla sauce were excellent. Update 12/1/24 The food was still excellent. The goulash soup was very tasty. The meat was buttery tender. The soup was very tasty. The cordon bleu was very well fried.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed today for the first time, after we normally enjoy eating here regularly with the whole family and even booked a buffet for private celebrations. The breakfast, however, doesn't do justice to the price or the otherwise really delicious food. The rolls and croissants are all baked goods that only go into the oven after ordering. Addition: The only strange thing in this context is that when I asked, the waitress in charge confirmed that the rolls were baked goods. Maybe it was the form of the day; However, you should still deal honestly with the customer.

We had dinner there with 4 people last night. Service and ambience were great. Unfortunately the kitchen ruined the good atmosphere. The portions didn't match the price. A little more on the plate given the prices would have been good. But the quality of two meals was not at all good. The citizens of Bun were as hard and dry as a piece of toast and the pomnes were too salty. The goulash was partly tough and stringy. Next time we'd rather go to the Nordbahnhof in Krefeld. We celebrated our wedding at the beginning of May this year in the 1857 inn and what can we say, we are completely satisfied. Our expectations were exceeded; we haven't experienced such good service in a long time. We are completely satisfied and would choose the Lower Rhine Inn 1857 again and again. Thank you very much for the beautiful location, service and the delicious food.

Because of food intolerances, we couldn't eat the burger sauces (why does EVERYTHING have to be with Knofi these days?). We were offered (!!) to swap the sauces for mayo or ketchup (in words: SWAP!!). What wasn't said was that we ended up with this "exchange" on the bill and had to pay extra. Nasty trick to get paid for an offer to exchange a special sauce for a finished product.
