Our evening at 136 Berlin was a culinary highlight. The fusion of Peruvian and Italian cuisine is truly unique. All the dishes were explained in detail, and every ingredient was described. Each course was beautifully presented. It was a feast for the eyes. All the waiters who served us were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The wines recommended by the sommelier were fantastic; everything was perfectly paired. The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy. We'll definitely be back.

My currently favorite creative high end restaurant - not just in Berlin and I have eaten at most. My recommendation: Do not pass on the cocktails! I did that the first few times- bad mistake. New menu every two weeks, so plenty of reasons to come again.

An Evening That Truly Impressed I had requested a table for one at short notice – although Restaurant 136 was fully booked, they made it possible for me to get a table. I found this to be very accommodating and appreciated. Something special has been created here: a unique, very well-thought-out fusion of Peruvian and Italian cuisine. For me, this is exactly how to elevate the artisanal tradition of Italian cuisine to a level that can easily compete with top-tier restaurants. The combination with the products, aromas, and spices of Peru is exceptionally successful and impressive. I would particularly like to commend the chef, Matias Diaz, who takes very personal care of his guests. You can tell that it is truly important to him that the guest is comfortable. This attention and presence are rare these days and create a very positive impression. The service was warm, attentive, and ran like clockwork. The wine pairings were also exciting, innovative, and fairly priced. A heartfelt thank you to Matias Diaz and the entire team for this special evening – a memorable experience both in terms of cuisine and people.

Good food, but very bad service! It took us over 4h to get to the what we thought was the last desert. Then they told us to wait for the final one. Almost 1h later it was still not there. That is not adequate for this price level. We left but still had to pay the full bill. Definitely not what we imagined for our anniversary!

Very high-quality, professional cuisine, where the flavors of each dish create a truly unique experience. The umami blend between Peruvian and Italian cuisine gives every plate a special touch. The atmosphere is extremely pleasant, and the service staff take their time to explain each dish along with the wines they offer. The chef even comes out at the end of the dinner to talk to you. One of the best places in terms of food quality and professionalism. 100% recommended.

We had a lovely evening at Restaurant 136. The cuisine is impressive both in terms of taste and presentation – the ingredients are often shown raw beforehand, which offers a fascinating glimpse into the process, especially with rarer ingredients. The courses feature creative twists from various culinary directions, the wine pairings are excellent, and the service is warm and attentive. In my opinion, there's still some room for improvement in the ambiance. The sound and decor could be more sophisticated. Overall, though, it was a very enjoyable evening.

This was our second visit to Matias' 136 Restaurant, and we'll definitely be back! 🤗 The cuisine has Peruvian influences, and each of the seven courses was a culinary and visual masterpiece! Besides the exquisite food, we'd especially like to highlight the warm hospitality: We were there with our five-year-old daughter, and although the menu was set, they lovingly prepared a few more child-friendly dishes for her. This is truly exceptional and impressed us greatly. We were incredibly well looked after and had an evening that was hard to beat, both in terms of the food and the atmosphere. A definite recommendation – such a high level of culinary excellence is (unfortunately) still quite rare in Berlin.

The place is casual looking and cute. But the food and overall experience was unfortunately the worst we had in a fine dining place. Especially considering that the prices were higher than most other fine dinings in the city. The staff looked bored and didn’t even fake smile through the whole extremely long 4 hours that we felt like we were being held captive. They accidentally broke one of the dishes and didn’t even attempt to change it. Moreover, at the start of evening we mentioned that we don’t drink alcohol and only later found out (when dishes being presented) that 2 of them contained alcohol (the menu also didn’t explicitly mention this). The menu also didn’t mention pork (at least in English or German) and while we were asked about allergies specifically in the beginning, we were not asked about any other food restrictions- this is not such a small nuance considering the large community of Muslim immigrants in Berlin and should have been again explicitly covered either in the menu or by the waiters. The visual representation of the dishes was also quite weak and the tastes were mediocre at best (especially compared to any other fine dining place we had previously tried). Almost all of the bites tasted similar (acidic - vinegary due to similar ingredients in the sauces). And yes waiting for 4 hours was crazy long…

Last night we celebrated my boyfriend's birthday at 136 and it was probably the best choice we could ever do. The whole experience has been absolutely brilliant, the food was mind-blowing and the quality of the ingredients is so high. The menu is perfectly thought and it was also fun to discover a bunch of ingredients we never heard about. Also shout-out to the service, absolutely nice and friendly. The drinks are simply delicious and the whole atmosphere made our evening. Thank you, we can't wait to visit the restaurant again :)

Exceptional cuisine of the highest quality. The Peruvian-Italian fusion is outstanding! What's particularly nice is the presentation of the courses, including the Peruvian and Italian components, which you can touch, smell, and, of course, admire, like the Rocoto chili – as large, round, and red as a ripe tomato. All in all, a fantastic experience for all the senses!

5 stars, and well-deserved from start to finish! This was my first fine dining experience, and it was simply perfect! The welcome was friendly yet warm, yet professional. Allergies were taken very seriously, and the chef even personally inquired about them. The presentation and the taste of the non-alcoholic beverages were remarkably well-thought-out, and every mocktail was absolutely delicious! I can hardly describe the food, as it exceeded every single one of my expectations. Whether it was the playful combination of flavors, the perfect amount of spice (and that from someone who doesn't really appreciate spicy food at all), the art of presentation, or simply the individual processing of the various products. The service was equally personable, professional, and very accommodating at all times. This evening was absolutely perfected by the entire 136 team, and I will definitely never forget it!

We were at this lovely restaurant for my birthday, and the service, food, and location were incredible. 100% authentic. Everything was delicious. Very authentic. The chef spoke to the remaining guests and asked how we were feeling, which I think is very special! They almost never do this at other restaurants. In addition, he bought us two cocktails and surprised us with dessert, a birthday candle, and music, since it was my birthday. I would return and recommend this great place 100%.

We had a wonderful meal with many wonderful small courses and entertainment. Unique dishes, perfect for special occasions. They're very considerate of allergies. They explain what you're eating and even show you the raw ingredients. It was remarkable that we paid the same amount for fewer glasses of wine as for a glass with each meal.

I had the pleasure and desire to dine at 136 three times during my stays in Berlin, and, even though I was alone, I never felt truly alone or out of place. The restaurant is small but comfortable, surrounded by an atmosphere of soft lighting and candlelight. Nicola, a young Italian sommelier, welcomes you with a smile and takes care to professionally recommend a good glass of wine to accompany your dinner. The kitchen is open to the public, so during dinner you can watch the entire staff create small works of art on your plate. Matias's art is like a symphonic composition where each ingredient is a unique entity in itself, but when combined with others, a dish is created that becomes a tasteful embrace on the palate. I closed my eyes while savoring everything and experienced a true sensory journey; I can't describe it in any other words. The 136 has become my favorite place and I have no other words to conclude this review than "Thank you and see you soon guys"!

Sublime, spectacular, indescribable... every time a unique experience. At least once in a lifetime.

We wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary on August 21st. It was a huge disappointment. The menu began with very tasty little amuse-bouches, but then it was no longer a menu at all. It took a full four hours for the boring little dessert to arrive. When you have to wait half an hour for every little bite, you completely lose the feeling of a meal. The "main course" after three and a half hours consisted of a small piece of Wagyu beef that was so tough that I spent 15 minutes chewing the last bite (to no avail). At least I had something in my mouth... There were only six tables occupied! The quality of the two bites per hour justifies nothing. There was no apology whatsoever for the four-hour wait. A chef came to the table at the end and mumbled something about "difficulties in the kitchen," that was all. I have never experienced such expensive outrageousness and can only warn everyone against this establishment!

We tried the vegan version of the menu. 136 proves that Peruvian cuisine is the best vegan option in the world. A culinary masterpiece. Cookies Cream and all the other vegan restaurants in Berlin can't compete, because the variety of food in Peruvian cuisine is insane. 136 brings a piece of Peru to Europe. Some dishes were no worse than those at Virgilio Martinez in Lima.

A cool experience, the food was phenomenal and the service was also very good. You feel very comfortable and welcome. The service, kitchen, and chef are very warm and accommodating. The menu changes every two months, so you can enjoy it often.

Outstanding Italian Peruvian fusion

So ein Besuch zeigt, ob man egoistisch oder sozial ist. Gibt man solche Tips wirklich weiter? Dann wird es schwerer, einen Platz zu reservieren und vielleicht wird es auch teurer? Oder spricht man dem Inhaber und der Crew ein Lob aus, einfach, weil sie es verdienen? Es passt einfach alles! Ein Feuerwerk von einem Menü! Feuer, weil die verschiedenen peruanischen Chillies jeden Gang aufpeppen. Und Werk weil alles handwerklich so perfekt zubereitet wurde, dass man hier keine Fusionsküche auf dem Teller hat, sondern stets äußerst stimmige Kreationen, die fordern, nie langweilen, aber doch nicht anstrengend sind und den Genuss in den Vordergrund stellen. Ich war etwas skeptisch, weil ich diese Kombination von zwei Länderküchen eher ablehne. Oft kommt es gewollt daher und man versucht, traditionelle Gerichte irgendwie in ein anderes Land zu verfrachten. Schwieriges Thema, nicht nur in der Politik. Traditionsgerichte haben sich schließlich über Generationen bewährt, wer sind wir, um das einfach zu überkochen… Aber im 136 hatte ich bei jedem Gang das Gefühl, dass es genau so sein muss. Alles hat seinen Platz und ist äußerst stimmig und geschmackvoll in Szene gesetzt. Die Amalfizitronen nehmen dem Ceviche die Limettensäure und der Tomatensaft passt besser in die Tigermilch als die Tomaten auf das Ceviche. Bei Quinoa gibt die Burrata einen Schmelz, der den auf der Karte vielleicht am wenigsten spannenden Gang auf der Vorurteilsskala zu einem echten Highlight werden lässt, Und die stets dezente fruchtige Schärfe der verschiedenen Chillies lässt Langustinos sanft zum Glühwürmchen mutieren oder den Wolfsbarsch zackiger werden. Auch die Desserts haben diese phantastische Textur, Präzision und kommen trotz Mascarponeinsatz auch einen Tick leicht und unbekümmert daher. Es ist schwer, hier nicht begeistert zu sein, wenn man nicht zuerst nach Innovation sucht sondern nach einem vollendeten Geschmack. Die Innovation steckt dahinter, sie hilft den Gerichten, aber der Koch ist selbstbewusst, aber kein Narzist, der dem Gast die Grenzen aufzeigen möchte. Er ordnet sich ein in das große Ganze und hat mit wenig Worten viel gesagt. Als Weinfan darf man zu einem fairen Korkgeld etwas mitbringen, findet auch auf der Karte eine angenehme Mischung aus italienischen Weinen, die nicht in der Pizzeria gehypt werden. Umbrien, Sizilien…. Einige Regionen, die sonst unterrepräsentiert sind, geben hier den Ton an. Und sie passen sehr gut. Passend, dass auch der Espresso danach wundervoll ist und nicht vom Vollautomaten kaputt gebrüht wurde. Es stimmt einfach alles und der Service ist sympathisch, jung, aber nicht zu unbehände. Und jetzt, da ich es aufgeschrieben habe, würde ich es am liebsten gleich wieder löschen, für diese Woche reservieren und mich freuen, dass noch kein Michelinstern den Eingang ziert. Nein, den soll man hier nie kriegen, damit ich alles für mich alleine behalte…. Oder doch?

My first Google review, but I have to write it because I'm wondering where's the star? Because the excellent restaurant absolutely deserves it. Many other starred restaurants can pack a punch! Excellent food and a very welcome atmosphere! It's like leaving Berlin for an evening and traveling to Peru and Italy. The interior is what makes it so authentic and is a nice change from the gourmet restaurants that are always the same. You have the opportunity to watch the kitchen crew work directly, which is really exciting. Very attentive service and honestly warm! We'll be back and I hope it gets the star it deserves by then!!

Go if you want to treat yourself, take your date or meet with friends to eat here, and even on business this restaurant makes you forget any mediocre meal you ever had in town. We were in 136 during the fair in Berlin. Premises in a tenement house, with a bright interior. At the entrance, there is a large round table with spices and other ingredients used in the dishes. Peruvian-Italian culinary combinations are amazing. A very detailed description before each dish. Very complex dishes. The price is very affordable for such a wide tasting. The least interesting non-alcoholic pairing. Helpful and friendly service. No bloat. Open kitchen where you can watch the chefs work. I recommend the flavors of Peru Bravo. Spend at least 4 hours for tasting

Unser Besuch im Restaurant 136 anlässlich des Geburtstags eines Familienmitglieds war ein tolles kulinarisches Highlight, das wir sehr genossen haben. Das 7-Gänge-Menü (mit den Grüßen aus der Küche eigentlich 9 Gänge) war ein großartiges Geschmackserlebnis und bot eine exquisite Fusion peruanischer und italienischer Aromen, meisterhaft kreiert von Küchenchef Matias Diaz Silva und seinem Team. Jeder Gang überraschte mit kreativen Kombinationen und erstklassigen Zutaten und die Erläuterungen zu einzelnen Komponenten fanden wir sehr informativ und unterhaltsam. Das Ambiente des Restaurants ist charmant und einladend, mit einem trendigen Vintage-Dekor, das für eine gemütliche Wohlfühlatmosphäre sorgt. Der Service war außerordentlich aufmerksam, herzlich und kompetent. Zu später Stunde wurde unser „Geburtstagskind“ noch mit einem Törtchen und einem eingespielten Geburtstagslied überrascht, was unseren Abend perfekt abrundete. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und können das Restaurant jedem empfehlen, der auf der Suche nach einem außergewöhnlichen kulinarischen Erlebnis in Berlin ist. This dinner was an absolute highlight of the year! The kitchen did an exquisite job and every dish was crafted to perfection (Extra impressed with the ability to cater to milk allergy restrictions while keeping the dishes just as perfect). The wine tasting that went along with the menu was perfectly selected, and the Pisco sours were likely the best I've ever tasted. We're coming back in February... and again whenever the menu is updated!

Our fine dining experience at 136 Restaurant was special, as we visited on a guest chef collaboration night with Miramar Restaurant from Spain. The dishes were excellent, with fun flavors and a showcase of many interesting and unique ingredients. We opted for the non-alcoholic drink pairing, which was also delightful. A big plus for us was that the restaurant is dog-friendly, which added to the welcoming atmosphere. The only downside was the service—it was a bit slow and not very on point, with a few missed explanations about the food and drinks. Overall, though, it was a memorable experience, and we’d recommend it for its creativity and flavors!

Warm and relaxing atmosphere. Food served in an exemplary manner and with attention to detail. Each course is a riot of colors and refined flavours, perfectly balanced with each other. Professional and elegant service in presenting the dish: interesting is the possibility of seeing live some typical Peruvian ingredients used to prepare the dish, thus also adding a touch of culture.

Yesterday we were guests for the fourth time. The restaurant has been stylishly redesigned, the service and the food are absolutely great and unbeatably good. We feel very valued and comfortable as guests. Thanks to the boss and the whole crew. You do everything wonderfully and the dishes are always surprising works of art in terms of appearance and taste. We haven't eaten so well in Berlin for a long time. We know most of the star restaurants in Berlin. The 136 beats most when it comes to value for money. We had a great evening and say thank you. See you soon!

Simply fantastic, every single dish was perfection, I am so positively surprised, this almost never happens. Thank you so much for a lovely evening, we will be back.

Wir sind über das Restaurant-Scheckheft des Tagesspiegels auf das "136" aufmerksam geworden. Das "136" bietet nur komplette Menüs an - ein kleines mit 5 Gängen und ein großes mit 7, daher waren wir neugierig wie die Regel des Scheckheftes "nur ein Hauptgericht wird bezahlt" umgesetzt werden sollte. Das Angebot von "es gibt einen Gang extra im kleinen Menü" haben wir gerne angenommen. Mit den Grüßen aus der Küche (zwei vorweg, einer vor dem Dessert) kamen wir auf 9 Gänge insgesamt. Die Speisen sind ein italienisch-peruanisches Crossover von Zutaten und Gerichten und waren sämtlich kreative Ideen. Hier kocht jemand mit Ambition und schielt nach den Sternen wie auch die ausliegenden Gourmetzeitschriften dokumentieren. Wir hatten zum Menu (zu 105€ p.P.) die Weinbegleitung (50€ p.P.), zusammen mit 2 Flaschen Wasser und 4 Pisco Sour kamen wir auf eine Rechnung von 375€. Kein billiges Vergnügen also, aber durchaus angemessen. Die Weine wußten ebenfalls zu überzeugen. Die Speisen waren mit kleinen Ausnahmen (die ersten beiden Gänge etwas zu säurebetont und daher etwas brachial, das Flank-Steak hatte die Pfanne nur im Vorbeigehen gesehen) fehlerlos und sehr zur Freude des Gaumens. Der Service fiel durch jede Menge Information und freundliche Aufmerksamkeit sehr positiv auf. Lobenswert ist die Idee, die Zutaten zu den Gerichten im Rohzustand auf einem Tisch im Restaurant zu präsentieren.

Great, urban fine dining restaurant with Very friendly waiters. On the Experience Tour we would be treated to 10 courses and a great wine pairing. The mix of Peru and Italy works wonderfully and is a lot of fun! We'll be back!!!

Fantastic dinner and excellent service. We felt so much welcome. The dinner had a great variety and it was so delicious. The influence of peruan and italian food made the food unforgettable. The dinner is of the standard of a Michelin-star rated restaurant And don’t forget to taste the great wine paring. The sommelier choosed great wines. A place to come back.
