Sunday... you're looking forward to enjoying a great meal with your family... and you're sorely disappointed. We know the Landhaus Wimmelbücker from its truly spectacular game buffet, and the Sunday dinner from the small menu should have been just as good. However, when the waitresses are harassed by the boss, and guests notice, the staff's mood is off from the start. That's more than just sad! Even older bosses should know how to behave. Our waitress, on the other hand, was professional enough not to let such bad manners show. The meal was, to say the least, not worth the money. While the cream of game soup was certainly hot and tasty, the veal liver Berliner style was simply ridiculous: overcooked, the meager pieces resembled more of a Charlie Chaplin shoe sole a la "Goldrush," accompanied by almost raw apple shavings and a dollop of mashed potatoes. Added to that was a Sauerbraten (sauerbraten), where the "sauer" should have been removed, as it tasted more like a regular beef gravy, which, while shreddable with a fork, was dry and hard. This made the Sauerbraten an even bigger disappointment than the veal liver. Also disappointing: There was only one dish on the menu for pisketarians (small mushroom pan). There was no sign of a fish dish anywhere. I've completely forgotten what my brother "enjoyed," but at least the dumplings from the dish were trashed. The boss's usual question, "Did you like it?"... was answered not with enthusiasm but with the above criticisms. Offended by the criticism, they would pass it on to the kitchen... that's it! No coffee as an apology? Or a nightcap? Of course not! That's arrogant... and unfriendly to the guests. But... the game buffet... hopefully that will be better again. Otherwise, the country inn is off our list of restaurants around Rietberg.

Went to the asparagus buffet in the restaurant today...according to their culinary calendar there are sophisticated, modern creations...but you had to look in vain at the buffet. There was only the traditional food, just far too simple and unimaginative. We didn't expect the bagged hollandaise from Lukull either. It was also lukewarm...so was the dessert. Too bad 🤷♀️
