Hello, we were at Basilikum again yesterday and were initially happy to be able to reserve a table (normally fully booked weeks in advance), but the evening left us with some good impressions and some things the restaurant should rethink. The welcome was also very positive, where our jackets were taken and we were escorted to our table. We were taken care of immediately. We ordered an aperitif and then our meal. On the plus side, there is a wine pairing for each course and meal. One thing that could be improved: each pairing had 0.2 liters, which would have been 0.6 liters for my 3-course menu, or 0.8 liters for the 4-course menu, so we could only partially follow it :-). Then came the very good starter, but the wine hadn't arrived yet; the flow could also be improved here. For the main course, my wife had pasta and I had the beef steak. The pasta and steak were a dream. My steak came with two broccoli stalks and four 2x1cm potato slices, which was supposed to be a filling side dish. With a four-course meal, pasta would have been served before the main course, but it was a bit light. Incidentally, they didn't ask how the steak should be cooked, but I wasn't particularly interested, as I like medium-rare, so it was perfect. The cheese platter finished with two pieces of raisin bread. My wife doesn't like raisins, and those two tiny pieces would never have been enough to cover all the cheese. On the plus side, there were two types of mustard, but only ONE grape that was half-sliced, and cheese on its own is less tasty than with some grapes and bread. So, after 2.5 hours, we went home with mixed feelings. Enjoy reading.
