A nice, but not perfect evening. We've wanted to go to Storstad for a long time because it's supposed to be the best restaurant in Regensburg. First of all: In our opinion it is not. There were four of us and we thought something special awaited us. The welcome was great, warm, nice, personal. That's how it should be. Unfortunately it didn't continue like this, it was ignored for a while. Ok, at the beginning everyone comes at the same time, so forget about it. Then the question about an aperitif: we didn't have it, a glass of champagne was offered. Gin and tonic works too. No question about which gin I want. At some point a glass came and the Schweppes Tonic was poured. Only when asked was it explained that it was the Bombay, a bit simple in my opinion. Next point: the menus. There were the small iPads (two people share one). Mine had a crack from top to bottom. The bad habit with iPads is ok in the burger joint, but in the Michelin-starred restaurant it should still be possible to have a written card. And one per person. Now about the wine: The sommelier was a total failure. We just typed something and it was ok. But here, too, we have experienced completely different calibers. A proper sommelier who asks and recommends is part of the experience. The food had its ups and downs. The saddle of venison was above average. Otherwise, some courses were really convincing. But not consistently either. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t bad, but little was really “wow”. Presentation was beautiful, elaborate and really high class. It was too cold. Some guests had their jackets brought to them. Of course it's very individual, but if several people have the same feeling, then you should turn up the heating a little. Total 1100 euros with tip. It was interesting, but it doesn't have to happen again. We went to the Roter Hahn (the other star restaurant) several times and, in our opinion, it was better each time.
