Short update: Was recently invited to the buffet there. The selection was plentiful, the food was good. You have to accept small compromises compared to the usual quality at the buffet because you keep it warm for a long time, especially when it comes to crispiness. Nevertheless, I'll stick with 5 stars!!! And you can't complain about the price. But my recommendation is definitely to eat a la carte. Original review, I still agree: We have wanted to visit this restaurant for a long time and our wedding anniversary was the opportunity. We were there on December 12th, it was a Thursday and there were few guests in the restaurant. We chose a table right next to the water basin built into the room where a few koi and turtles feel comfortable. We ordered the Chinese rice table for two people, a large bottle of water, a tea and a Ducksteiner. The bottle of water was brought to the table with two glasses and, like the beer, was pleasantly chilled. The tea followed a little later and was brewed with fresh tea leaves. This was immediately followed by the first course of the menu, the special house salad. Strips of duck, chicken breast, crab and boiled ham were served on some fresh Chinese-style mixed salad, and two small spring rolls completed the dish. Everything was great in terms of taste and freshness, only the rolls were just standard goods. It takes some getting used to for some people, a lot of cold meat served on some salad, my wife wasn't entirely convinced but I liked it. The next course had the “wow” effect: probably the best wontons we’ve had in many years. Crispy, hot and great in taste. We've had more meat filling elsewhere, but that didn't diminish the enjoyment at all, rather the opposite. The sweet and sour sauce was perfect, slightly sweet and mildly sour. Then came the main courses: roasted Hong Kong duck on Chinese vegetables and king prawns fried in tempura breading with a crispy side dish - unfortunately I forgot to ask what it was - I thought it was fried rice noodles. The sauces were pleasantly served separately. Another well-seasoned sweet and sour sauce, this time with pineapple pieces and a mild, dark soy-based sauce with mushrooms and bamboo. We chose fried noodles as a side dish. Both dishes were enthusiastic. The duck was crispy and juicy, the shrimp tender and both simply divine. The rice noodles were crispy, the vegetables were good, but could have been a bit crunchier. The noodles were perfectly fine, unobtrusive in taste, and went perfectly with the two main courses. At the end there was baked fruit with honey (pineapple, banana and apple), crispy and delicious. The service was very attentive, quick and friendly throughout the evening. The restaurant is clean and well-kept and the fish tank is definitely an eye-catcher, especially for the little guests, who are also welcome to give the fish some food.
