Gasthof zur Altstadt is a good inn in Haiger

February 2025 That was my first visit after many years, and I'm still as happy as I was back then. You can tell that cleanliness and quality are still important here. The staff is super friendly and quick – and that, although there was a lot going on in the store. Despite the many customers, everything was handled quickly, so I could enjoy my kebab in no time. That's how it has to be! Even though the medium-sized kebab now costs €7, The price-performance ratio in this store is still absolutely fair! The middle kebab in the kebab shop is really big (unfortunately that doesn't come across as well in the picture) and also had plenty of meat on it. The vegetables were fresh, crunchy and very tasty; an all-round tasty kebab! And when it comes to sauces, there are only two options: Garlic and yogurt – but these are just perfectly balanced. The selection in other kebab shops often overwhelms you. but in my opinion there is no need for more here. Simply classic and very tasty – like a kebab in the best old school style. I also took a large portion of fries, and this one was really big! Even so big that I couldn't finish it. For €4 for this amount of fries, that's absolutely fair and really a good deal. If you are looking for a classic, delicious kebab, definitely won't be disappointed here. I will certainly come back!

Friendly welcome But can do better in the kitchen

I was looking for a restaurant on Lieferando that was still open, I found this pizzeria, I ordered, it was accepted, I waited for two hours and nothing came. The first time I ordered, I was unfortunately disappointed because there was neither a call nor an email

First-class cuisine and courteous service. Simply great outdoors in summer.

Außerordentlich gut! Das Essen ist wirklich hervorragend. Auch die Bedienung war sehr nett. Wir kommen gerne. Sowohl zum Essen vor Ort als auch zum Mitnehmen.

On the way back from vacation in Stau, I googled for a snack, found this one and was thrilled. Doner kebab, pizza and fries were really good and tasty, children loved it. It's really an insider tip in Haiger and we'll definitely be back.

Very good food, freshly served and everything went very quickly. In my opinion, the portion could have been a little larger for the price. Still happy again.

Fast snack bar to be more precise, fast snack would be incorrectly named. Some unfriendly staff. Again today 08/01/24 7:00 p.m. No wonder if you use alternatives.

Würde am liebsten null Sterne geben! Man wartet viel zu lange und das Essen hatte kaum Geschmack und die Preise waren viel zu Hoch.

Update November 2024: Very good as usual even with the new owner & the staff has been taken over 🤝. 2021: Finally open again! Perfect as always, your steaks are to die for!
