Zur Teufelsmoorschleuse in Osterholz-Scharmbeck

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant and was absolutely delighted. I received a warm welcome upon entering, and the atmosphere was immediately inviting. The food was outstanding: fresh, beautifully presented, and perfectly seasoned. It's particularly commendable how much emphasis is placed on quality and attention to detail – from the ingredients to the presentation. The menu is also diverse, ensuring there's something for everyone. Special praise goes to Kathleen, the server who served me. She was exceptionally kind, attentive, and completely unobtrusive. Her charming and approachable manner not only ensured everything ran smoothly but also added a particularly pleasant personal touch to the evening. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable restaurant visit – fantastic food, a lovely setting, and service that was simply a pleasure. I will definitely be back.

For traditional German cuisine, this restaurant is my number 1.

The food was delicious. The staff was attentive and very friendly.

Nice service, attentive, and quick. My burger wasn't cooked all the way through. I let them know right away, and they picked it up right away, saying, "It happens sometimes." True. About 15 minutes later, I got the half-eaten but now fully cooked burger back. I don't know if that's common practice?! It tasted OK. My husband's snip was great, but he was finished eating by the time mine finally came back.

We stayed at this lovely establishment with a group and were delighted by both the friendly staff and the quality of the food! We'll be happy to return.

Small but Oh Ho! Directly on the Hamme at the Meyer campsite. The furniture is a bit old, but the mega delicious food and friendly service definitely make up for that. Highly recommend the good home-style cooking. It tastes like grandma's and brings back memories of childhood. We were there on a Tuesday evening and it was packed. The outdoor area was filled to capacity, with all age groups represented. But we still got a table inside. The menu has something for everyone. From the quick currywurst with fries to redfish and zander or a delicious beef roulade or the mega delicious moor roast with fried potatoes, buttered vegetables, black beer sauce and a small salad. The moor roast for €12.50 is a MEGA price/performance ratio. For us it is a done deal, WE will come back and let our taste buds be pampered.

In the middle of the campsite, good food, great service... The price/performance ratio is still absolutely right here, we'd love to come back for dinner...! Update: We were just there for a kale dinner, absolutely delicious. EVERYTHING was there, from potatoes, to smoked pork, bacon, Pinkel, cooked sausage, mustard, to kale with chunks of meat = perfect...!

We spent a lovely afternoon in the garden at "zur Teufelsmoorschleuse." The burgers and baked feta were delicious, and our son enjoyed a "Räuberplatte" (robber's plate), which he was very pleased with. He was delighted to find ice cream on a stick!

First time here, but definitely not the last. We were extremely satisfied. The food, drinks, and friendly service were all to our complete satisfaction.

Food like a snack bar with prices like you'd find in a fine restaurant. The fries and schnitzel were okay, but the moor sauce was thick and looked incredibly unappealing. The mushrooms were neither bite-sized nor appealing to look at. The side salad was far from worthy of the name salad. We would have had a better meal at a good snack bar.

As always, even at this late hour, we were wonderfully served. Giant schnitzels, burgers, and even more delicious things were available.

Always a good place to go when we get hungry in the evening.

Schnitzel at Teufelsmoor? Really good – crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The moor beer was excellent, ice-cold, and just the thing to unwind. The service was friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. Down-to-earth, delicious, relaxed – exactly my thing. I'll definitely be back.

A great place to stop if you're on a bike ride or something similar. Great food, cozy dining room, and extremely attentive service staff.

Die Teufelsmoorschleuse hat die Auszeichnung des Coq d’Or Super leckeres Essen, feines Moorbier. Etwas Rustikal aber stressfrei. Abhängen im Biergarten und danach das suchen nach dem Teufelsmoor Schloss in der Nähe ;-) Und die kommende HammeNacht ist am Samstag, den 2. August 2025 auch hier wieder erlebbar.

The food was very, very tasty! Today there was the special card for Mother's Day. We had salmon, schnitzel, asparagus, carrots and potatoes - everything was excellent. Particularly noteworthy is the friendly service. We felt very comfortable and completely looked after.

Definitely recommended! The food was fresh from the kitchen and was only served (schnitzel) after we ordered. I ordered a leg of lamb for myself (so tender), stewed with very tasty green beans and garlic! The moor beer on tap is also delicious! All in one, a successful meal. We'll probably become regular customers now.

Very tasty, where else do you hear that the schnitzel is beaten?? Well, you can still work on the small salad, delicious dressing and a larger salad plate would improve everything. Service is great!

If you want to eat your fill, you're in good hands here! Huge schnitzel at moderate prices and freshly prepared. The only point of criticism was that the fresh salad was dressed with far too little dressing and was out of it very small bowls difficult to eat. Otherwise there is nothing to complain about. Nice location with outdoor seating.

A rustic restaurant located on the grounds of the Meyer campsite. Very friendly staff and the food is home-style. We had kale plates and on the second day the moor plate with fried potatoes and two fried eggs. The portions are very generous and the food was very tasty! The dark, tasty moor beer is also highly recommended. Plus everything at reasonable prices. We'd love to come back! 😄

Despite the closed company, we received a warm welcome. Three tables were still free, we took one of three. A second table also filled up. There was kale or schnitzel. Great in taste, like nuts. The service and the effort to help you was extraordinary, really top. I always enjoy being a guest at the Teufelsmoorschleuse. Consistently great food and great service. A week ago we ate at the restaurant “Zur Teufelsmoorschleuse”. We had a Moorförster schnitzel with fried potatoes and once a beef roulade with fried potatoes. The service was very friendly, but not intrusive. The time between ordering and delivery was just right. The food was very tasty.

Very friendly service, everything in our own family business, the food is good and simple cuisine. What I can personally recommend, if they are on the menu, are the shish kebab skewers and the Schleusenburger. The beer garden is spacious and parasols can be put up if required. Good German home-style cuisine is offered there, which varies depending on the season.

My first visit there was very positive. The tomato soup and then Knipp with fried potatoes and fried eggs were very tasty. The service was very friendly and we also had a nice chat with the locals. Definitely recommended, I would love to come back there!

Hello dear community, We were cycling and stopped here. Despite the notice that it only opens at 5 p.m., the restaurant was open and we were able to fortify ourselves. The coffee was very tasty and we were served very nicely. So just check if the door is open, it's worth it 😉

N great restaurant at the campsite! Just like you imagine a local restaurant - not new but clean/service not uniformly dressed but chic and nice/menu not in expensive leather but on a great table. Not 5 stars but 4 with a halo

The food was very good and the prices were absolutely reasonable. The service was absolutely fitting and very warm! You could do some work on the ambience, but too much would be inappropriate. I think interviewing a few new and critical guests and changing little things is probably enough.

In netter Runde ein ausgezeichnetes dryaged Porterhouse-Steak gegessen! (nur auf Vorbestellung). Serviert von der netten Inhaber-Familie. Dazu ein schönes Moorbier vom Fass - Herz, was willst du mehr?

Gute Portionen die auch Lecker waren. Verschiedene Schnitzelvariationen und Hausmannskost wie Knipp etc. Dank an die Küche.

Sehr schön gelegen, direkt neben der Hamme schnelle und sehr freundliche Bedienung. Essen kam sehr schnell und war lecker und die Preise waren normal. Tisch reservieren ist von Vorteil, da viele Gäste hier einkehren. Toll komme gerne wieder und empfehle das Restaurant im Teufelsmoor.

Eine super Gastronomie, grosse Terrasse. Und sehr nette Menschen.

Ruhige Campingplatzlage.Mobiliar etc. Ist in die Jahre gekommen,Terasse primitiv,Beduenung überfordert/wir waren angemeldet. ES WAR UM 14.00 Uhr nicht voll,erst spätet füllte sich das Lokal und mehr Personal kam. ESSEN: das Schnitzel war gut. Die Bratkartoffeln zu Hälfte schwarz,der Salat wirkte wie aus der Dose. Das zweite Gericht:Moobraten mit reichlich Fettfleisch in einer schwarzen unappetitlichen Sosse und auch angebrannten Bratkartoffeln. Getränke kamen sehrr spät.Preise niedrig bei auch niedriger Qualitätder Speisen.Torte kam wahrscheinlich vom Tiefkühlbäcker.

Hier lohnt eine Einkehr. Sehr gutes Essen.

Wir waren heute das erste Mal da. Waren total begeistert Schnitzel mit frischen Champignons und Bratkartoffel sehr zu empfehlen konnten aus der Küche das klopfen des Schnitzel s hören. Der Hamburger mit Pommes auch sehr lecker. Bedienung aufmerksam und freundlich. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder 👍👍👍

Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen .Das Essen war vorzüglich. Ich hatte den Moorbraten und meine Mitstreiter Schnitzel. Gute und grosse Hausmanskost. Ich habe selten eine so tolle Sauce und so zartes Fleisch bekommen. Wir kommen wieder!!

Das essen war mega lecker, große Portionen zu angemessenen Preisen, gute norddeutsche Küche. Der Service war sehr freundlich und trotzdessen das wir ohne Reservierung da waren mussten wir nicht lange auf einen Tisch warten und auch Getränke und Essen kamen schnell. Die location an sich ist nah am Wasser gelegen und im Innenraum so dekoriert wie es für die Gaststätten in der Region üblich ist. Alles in allem, definitiv weiter zu empfehlen und gerne wieder.

Super Lokal, merkt man schon daran das ohne Reservierung schwierig wird nen Platz zu bekommen... Beim Essen ziehe ich 1 Sternchen ab weil meine ChampignionSchnitzel ohne Soße war, das is leider nich meins, schöne Rahmsoße dazu wäre richtig gut 👍👍

Nachdem wir freundlich empfangen wurden und einen Tisch bekommen haben, ging es auch schnell mit der Getränke- und Essenbestellung. Die Getränke kamen schnell. Nur das Essen ließ auf sich warten. Nachdem die anderen Gäste, die wohlgemerkt nach uns schon ihr Essen hatten wurden wir gefragt was wir zu essen bestellt haben. Ich muss anmerken das die Terrasse nicht voll besetzt war. Die junge Bedienung hat sich Mühe gegeben die ältere war sichtlich überfordert. Wären die Bedienungen etwas pfiffig gewesen, hätten die unbemerkt unser Essen zunächst an uns gegeben und nicht erst an einen Tisch der 30 Minuten nach uns kam. Schade denn das Essen sah gut aus. Ah ja, das Besteck wollte man uns auch 2x geben.

Wir sind aufgrund der Bewertungen hier eingekehrt und… es hat sich gelohnt. Eine tolle Möglichkeit, um gut bürgerlich zu speisen. Die Dame im Service hat sich auch durch eine 25köpfige Radlergruppe nicht aus der Ruhe bringen lassen und souverän alle mit dem versorgt was gewünscht wurde. Das Essen ist lecker und frisch zubereitet. Sowohl Fisch- als auch Fleischgerichte waren durchweg sehr lecker. Wir sind froh, dieses tolle Lokal entdeckt zu haben. Uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen.

Schnitzel! Erst nach der Bestellung zärtlich geklopft, dann paniert und genau richtig zubereitet, landet ein köstliches Stück vom Schwein auf dem Teller. Auch die zum "Teufels-Schnitzel" gereichten Pommes frites übertrafen die Erwartungen, ebenso wie die Teufelssauce. Sie kam erst himmlich fruchtig daher, um erst im Abgang ihre "teuflische", aber köstliche Schärfe zu enthüllen. Ein echtes Geschmackserlebnis! Der sehr freundliche Service bildet das Sahnehäubchen auf einem herausragenden Ess-Erlebnis. Unbedingt ausprobieren! 💋 P.S.: Überwiegend kommen alle Zutaten aus der Region!

Lekker eten en vriendelijke bediening.

Wir waren spontan zum Spargelessen dort. Es gab Spargel mit Schnitzel, Kartoffeln und Sauce Hollandaise. Alle Zutaten waren frisch und das frisch geklopfte Schnitzel war schön dünn und sehnenfrei. Der Spargel war super und schmeckt in keinem mir bekannten Restaurant besser. (Außer natürlich bei meiner Frau...) Wir waren schon häufiger hier und waren immer zufrieden.

Nun, Gourmets wird es hierher nicht verschlagen. Hier ist man mehr auf die anliegenden Zeltplatzbewohner eingestellt. Die Speisen sind eher Durchschnitt, aber o.k. Auf einen Snack oder ein schnelles Bier kann man hier einkehren. Lange verweilen wird man hier aber nicht

Wir waren mit einer Gruppe zum Frühstücken hier. Es war ein Buffet aufgebaut. Alles nett, nichts Aufregendes.

The food is typical German home cooking meals and very enjoyable and tasty and priced very well. The restaurant is in the middle of fields and river to relax in the arms of mother nature. Staff was very very friendly. Something to repeat as soon as we will be there again sometime.
