We've been here for several birthdays; the menu changes constantly, but also includes dishes that are available year-round. The restaurant is nicely decorated, but is located very far from any civilization, which is part of its appeal.

A beautifully located, rustically decorated, authentic restaurant with plenty of regional products. Very friendly staff. We were there with 14 people, all of whom ordered a la carte. All the dishes arrived at the same time and were fresh. Everyone was thoroughly satisfied. We would gladly return.

Initial impression: The schnitzel was by far the best we've ever eaten – simply outstanding! Add to that the idyllic location right on the Wümme River with a beautiful view – a real insider tip. Edit (recent visit): Today we wanted to eat there again with a group of 8 people – even our parents from Hamburg were specially invited to celebrate my mother's birthday. Unfortunately, the experience this time was disappointing. The manager seems overwhelmed, stressed, and unfortunately unfriendly. Her bad mood was noticeably passed on to the guests, which significantly dampened the mood. It's a shame, because the other server was, as always, warm, attentive, and very professional – kudos to her! For small groups (maximum 4 people), the restaurant can still be recommended – provided the manager isn't present. Unfortunately, only one of the 5 stars remains – and that goes to the friendly service staff.

A very nice restaurant in a beautiful landscape No matter the season, the Zur Schleuse restaurant is always worth a visit. With a view of the Wümme River, you can relax and forget about everyday life. The food is very appetizingly presented and tastes excellent. I had the best asparagus and the tastiest potatoes there. The draft pilsner is well-prepared and perfectly complements the meal. A big compliment to the service and kitchen teams. You can tell that everyone works with passion and dedication. The manager, Ms. Geffken, creates a cozy, well-kept, and welcoming atmosphere both inside and out. I will always enjoy this beautiful place and the delicious food.

We haven't been to the Schleuse in a long time. Four of us went there last week. The service was very friendly, and the atmosphere of the restaurant remained unchanged. Only the food didn't live up to our expectations. The fried potatoes, in particular, are not recommended, and the pan-fried fish also left a lot to be desired. We won't be back anytime soon.

A super nice restaurant in an extremely beautiful place right on the Wümme, where you wouldn't expect it at all. On the way you think you're driving into nowhere and suddenly this beautiful half-timbered building appears. The first super good impression is reflected in the interior. Everything was very tastefully and lovingly furnished. You immediately feel at home here. As soon as you sit down, the waitress arrives. Super friendly, natural and extremely attentive. The menu looked great. Good German cuisine. I chose the game platter, which tasted excellent. The food came incredibly quickly, was warm and very appetizingly prepared. All in all, a really nice evening in a wonderful ambience. That's how it should be. A huge compliment at this point for the great service and of course also in the kitchen. You do an excellent job and a visit here is an absolute must. But you should definitely make a reservation. I will definitely come here to eat more often.

In der Schleuse habe ich vor rund 45 Jahren meine Konfirmation gefeiert. Davor und danach bin ich regelmäßiger Gast. Mit dem ‚alten‘ Geffken wurde man auf wärmste Empfangen und man fühlte sich wie willkommene Freunde. Leider hat die jetzige Chefin diese warmherzige Art nicht - Gäste zu bewirten liegt ihr wohl nicht. Wohingegen das Personal sehr freundlich und immer hilfsbereit ist. Die Lage ist, wenn man draussen sitzt, einmalig. Wenn man drinnen sitz ist es sehr gemütlich. Das Essen ist über jeden Zweifel erhaben: norddeutsch, bodenständig, lecker … wenn auch hier spürbar wird, das mit etwas zu dünn geschnittenen Roastbeef gespart wird.

In a group of over 20 people eating cabbage... "full of cabbage" - and that should be taken literally. Okay, potatoes are also served free of charge. Cooked sausage or pee comes counted on the plate and is only available for an additional charge.

There are experiences that you really don't need. After arriving at the restaurant, we were first informed that we had fallen below the reserved number of people without prior telephone registration.... and next, the very rude offer "to be able to go again" in this day and age, the guest here is at a loss no way king!!!!!

So far I've been there twice. Both times I was very impressed. The food is fresh and very tasty. The interior looks a bit rustic, but it has its charm. In summer, however, sitting outside at the Wümme, ideally at sunset, is a great experience. Unfortunately, you have to wait a lot, but it's worth it.

We stopped by spontaneously, friendly service, good food, will definitely come again. Idyllically located!

A restaurant like in a fairy tale. A bit remote but that's exactly the beauty of it. Located right on the river and totally idyllic. The dishes are all TOP CLASS. It almost couldn't be better. The service staff and the boss are incredibly friendly and very hard-working. If you are looking for a very special place to enjoy and unwind, then you have to go to the lock.❤️

In between a break for coffee and cake: My wife's apple pie and my blueberry pie were excellent, my cappuccino too. Unfortunately my wife's cola was completely non-carbonated ☹️. There is nothing wrong with the ambience and service.

When you sit comfortably outside in the beer garden and the Wümme flows past you in the beautiful green nature... the vegetarian meatballs taste even better.

We had booked a table for coffee at 3:30 p.m. We got a table but unfortunately there was only 1 piece of cake left. But there were four of us. Not being able to offer cake in the afternoon is not so good.

Wonderful vacation experience! Real German cuisine with regional dishes that are really special. For example Knipp. Lovingly furnished, great menu (extra asparagus menu in season) and absolutely justified prices. Unfortunately I didn't find a children's menu, but I still found something. Easily accessible by bike and car - of course with the little highlight of being able to cross the river by bike or on foot. The food was excellent and although all the outside seats were occupied, the service was friendly and quick. There is a swing in the garden for children.

Rustic, cozy and warm. A restaurant that is rarely found these days. Located in Lilienthal an der Wümme, the lock offers a wonderful view of the water in summer thanks to its large terrace, protected by beautiful trees. The food was exceptionally good and the service was incredibly friendly and quick. We felt we were in good hands and were happy to pay the slightly higher price for the good food. You can expect to pay upwards of €17.80 per person for dishes such as knipp or brawn and €30 upwards for steak and the like. In return, you get really good food here in sufficient but not wasteful quantities. There are massive wooden high chairs for small children, and the staff treats the smallest guests warmly. Absolutely family-friendly! My insider tip for good North German cuisine in the region.

We had saddle of hare for dinner; Very tasty, the service was friendly and attentive, and the ambience also corresponded to the place and the area. What wasn't right was the guest WiFi. There was one, but the speed was so low that WiFi use was not possible. Precisely because the food and service were so good, a usable WiFi shouldn't be beyond the reach of the operators of "Zur Schleuse". Every Bremer who hasn't been here ("Zur Schleuse") and is looking for a place for lunch and/or dinner should have been here at least once.

The food was very tasty and the several waitresses were very friendly and attentive. Great ambience with a great view of the Wümme.

Uriges Restaurant an der Wümme mit sehr liebevoller Inneneinrichtung. Tolle Speisekarte mit großer Auswahl an klassischen Speisen der Region. Sehr freundliches, hilfsbereites und schnelles Personal. Wir haben dort sehr lecker gegessen. Es war für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei und die Portionen waren echt groß.

Es ist für Touristen ein, vielleicht zu abseits gelegener Ort. Wer aber die unzähligen Kurven des Truperdeich passiert, wird mit einem der schönsten Aussichten über die Wümme und der Wiesen belohnt. Absolute Ruhe eingeschlossen. Das Restaurant hat nicht nur ein schönes rustikales Ambiente, sondern erzählt auch die Geschichte dieser Region. Das Essen ist absolut fantastisch. Nirgends habe ich besseren Kohl mit Pinkel gegessen wie hier. Ein Großes Lob an den Küchenchef. Aufmerksame Bedienung inklusive. Extra Tipp: Nehmt euch die Zeit, um nach dem Essen am Deich spazieren zu gehen. Ich war bereits das zweite Mal hier und ich komme wieder.😃 Doch dann im Sommer.

Wie immer der Service freundlich und schnell. Das Essen war wieder super. Die Portionen so groß das ich (ein guter Esser) satt wurde. Das Ambiente ist hervorragend, dass einzige was stört ist die Lautstärke wenn man die Stühle auf den Fußboden hin und her stellt. Aber wir sind immer wieder gerne hier.

Schön urisches Ambiente, Essen ist immer lecker kann jeden nur die Bratkartoffeln empfehlen. Zum Service kann ich nur sagen, dass die Bedienung sehr zuvorkommend war.
