Recommended for the weekend. Not disappointed... Food was delicious, service was friendly. The outdoor seating is great, unfortunately it's right next to the road, but no matter... here you're treated like a guest, and you're truly valued as such. Thank you for the wonderful food. And the resident dog is quite a character. Reservations are essential. A hidden gem for game lovers.

There were nine of us, and everyone was thrilled. The food is all homemade, fresh, and made with so much love – from the dumplings to the cranberries, everything was homemade. The portions were huge; the dumplings were twice the size you'd get anywhere else. My venison roast was so incredibly tender it practically melted in my mouth. The decor is so lovely, and the owner/server is so friendly – ​​there should be more places like this. We'll definitely be back!

A charming little hunting lodge that will leave you in awe. We returned today after a year because not only the food but also the attentive service was wonderful. The table was specially decorated for our birthday, and we received small pieces of chocolate as we left. Even our four-legged friend was immediately thought of and given a little something. The hunting lodge comes with our highest recommendation.

Even after 4-5 years, the food here is still just as delicious as it was back then. We were back in the area after a long break and, of course, made a reservation at the Jägerstube! What can we say? It was as phenomenal as we remembered: tender venison, hearty dumplings, generous portions—but above all, the most welcoming service in the Harz region! Since the lady serves all tables herself, you should be patient and calm when dining, as there will be a wait. But one thing is certain: it's worth it! We'll be back :)

For my mother and me, the Jägerstube in Treseburg has become a must-visit when hiking in the Harz Mountains – especially up in the forest, for example, near Hörst. Afterwards, we often get an ice cream from the lovely lady there. It's become a real tradition for us. She's always super friendly, and it's simply fun to stop there for a while. Honestly, if I could, I'd give it 100 stars – unfortunately, I can only give it five, but it definitely deserves them! Absolutely recommended.

The hostess was extremely friendly and welcoming. We felt completely at home, and our dog was also treated to treats and water. The food was very good and the portions were enormous. The forge fire at the end of the day is not to be missed. A fantastic experience!

Very clear recommendation, don't go for the schnitzel. The disappointment was great, and even a clarifying conversation didn't help. From the outside we wouldn't have thought that there was such great food here. The owner was very friendly and accommodating, we got the last free table and were really lucky. It is a small but very nice restaurant. The food was delicious, plentiful and fresh (unfortunately I didn't take any photos, I just enjoyed the food). We stayed overnight in town on our hike over the Harzer Hexen Stieg and reserved a table there based on the reviews. Good decision. The food and service were top! There were three of us and everyone enjoyed and enjoyed it.

We were guests in this tranquil restaurant on August 11, 2024 around 4 p.m. We took a seat in the small outdoor area. The very friendly owner took our order immediately. We had a farmer's breakfast, pork ribs and 2 duck legs with dumplings. When the food came we were initially amazed at the quantity. If you don't get enough here, you can't be helped. The taste is really 1A+. From our point of view, the food is very cheap and absolutely top. We felt very comfortable and would like to thank you again for the great service and the 3 small chocolate bites as we said goodbye.

Went there on Saturday based on the reviews and were thrilled. We took a seat inside because everything outside was occupied. The owner told us that a table was available outside and we sat down with glasses and cutlery in hand. Food was very tasty, large portions and perfectly priced. After researching restaurants in the area, my fiancée and I decided on the Zur Jägerstube restaurant. We were in the region for vacation for about a week. The telephone reservation was uncomplicated and friendly. When I entered the restaurant it was immediately assumed that I was the person who had called two hours earlier. The menu was impressive with many regional dishes, especially trout and various game dishes. The waitress, presumably the owner, was always extremely friendly and competent. Our little dog was immediately given a bowl of water. My fiancée chose the beef roulade while I chose the duck. For my friend it should be butter vegetables instead of red cabbage. This wish was probably a bit lost, but the whole thing wasn't as wild as the red cabbage was completely convincing in terms of taste (we say that as two people who are actually not big fans of red cabbage). When it comes to taste, I would like to throw around superlatives at this point. In addition to the delicious red cabbage, our dumplings were also completely convincing. The duck was the best I've had so far. I could hardly lift it with the fork because it fell apart immediately. The portions were also generous. As a good eater, I usually go home with a little space in my stomach, but today I was also very full. My fiancée had the leftovers packed up and was given an extra portion of vegetables and sauce so that the leftovers would still be juicy at home. The owner noticed that she had forgotten to replace the red cabbage with butter vegetables. We then got this packed up too. So we basically went home with another full meal. We had to pay €50 for 2 main courses and 4 drinks, so the prices are more than fair, on the cheaper side. At the end there was also some food for our dog. All in all, with the best will in the world, I can't find anything negative about our visit. The service was phenomenally friendly, the food was the best I've eaten outside in months and all at a more than fair price. I'm not familiar with the gastronomic scene in this region, but if this restaurant isn't an insider tip, then I don't know what is. We want to vacation here again in 1-2 years. We will definitely eat here again!
