Hotel Zur Bode in Thale

On a trip to the Harz and looking for a restaurant, the path led us past the hotel 🙂 we were very impressed by the very friendly service and the food - the almond trout was very good and the venison goulash was also very good. We'd love to come by again. Thank you

Had lunch there. Chicken schnitzel with peas and croquettes for €22.60 per person. The chicken schnitzel is frozen and fried. This is canteen menu. This is usury at its finest. The restaurant also still has the old memory card on the web, the same menu for €17.50. The increase is an outrage. Not recommended and deserves minus points.

Very tasty, but not that much and also very expensive, so at least 26 euros per person for the meal.

I visited this hotel yesterday with my husband and we loved it. A great atmosphere, beautiful rustic decoration with lots of flowers. This is rare to find. Then we would receive a warm welcome and great service. A thank you to the gentleman also for the great conversation. The food was excellent, smoked trout with potatoes, quark and horseradish. We liked to take some smoked trout with us and eat it in the evening. Also made warm upon recommendation, delicious. If we're in the area again, we'd love to come back. Thank you very much

Incredible. The food is worse than in a canteen, but the prices are on the way to star level. But you will never reach them, because the ambience is also from a bygone era. The schnitzel was OK, the wild mushrooms were chopped mushrooms, the side salad was without any dressing and yet it cost over twenty euros. And the solyanka was a thin reddish broth, bread as a side dish for 50 cents per slice of toast. Are you crazy? Never again

We ate deer and was very soft😋, the service was kind and they made the effort to speak English 🥰, not need it but feels welcoming

We can't recommend eating out, a vegetarian dish costs around €20 and you won't get full. We were very disappointed. Plus points were: child-friendly and friendly, hard-working staff. Unfortunately no more. The facility is now older but “charming”

We've been here several times for lunch. The trout, whether steamed, smoked or fried, is highly recommended and so delicious. The service is super nice and always there for the guests. We always like to come back

A fine little restaurant where you will be served quickly, happily and in a friendly manner. The furnishings are still a bit rustic, but pleasant. The food is very good and prepared with a lot of care. Absolute recommendation! The operating robot is absolutely awesome. This doesn't happen very often and for everyone highly interesting. Unfortunately, the rooms are no longer offered, the Corona is on our conscience.

The food and service is excellent. The kitchen performance is really outstanding. The individual components on the plate are very tasty, and when combined together they are a real treat for the palate. Everything works wonderfully together. Very friendly reception. Good service. The food was nicely presented and very good. There were three of us and we had trout and deer. We all enjoyed it. You can see that the restaurant is right on the street if you decide to go there. You don't have to mention this negatively in the review, as I leave it in a review.

Seating directly on the main street on plastic chairs, greetings in the DDR restaurant! Food completely overpriced! Canned peas, schnitzel from the deep fryer and even the fries are not particularly special. We weren't even full! The wine is recommended, Saale Institute Wine 😉 Unfortunately there is nothing more positive to mention

Gastronomy and food are excellent, staff very friendly, special praise for the kitchen, the almond trout was very well prepared, we can highly recommend this restaurant, the prices are justified for this meal, we have never eaten almond trout as well as in this restaurant

Atmosphere like in the 60s... frozen schnitzels floating in fat on the plate... canned vegetables... and for over €20... that's not possible... service was always attentive I can't judge the hotel - we sat on plastic chairs in the beer garden

Parking right in front of the door but absolutely scandalous prices for the food (21 euros upwards) and then eating in a deep 90s atmosphere. You should be ashamed of that! 1-2 years ago prices were 40-50% cheaper. This cannot be explained by inflation either. On the coast I eat more fresh food cheaper with more modern furnishings. The food was like a star 🌟 Chef, the kitchen was open to special requests and worked magic. Super 😋 delicious. Highly recommended and we will come back again when we are nearby.

We're here to eat trout. Great service, nice service and the food was mmmm. Gladly again, just because of the homemade lemon soda.

I can only rate the food and it was great. There were five of us there and we were warmly welcomed and looked after very courteously and nicely. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful. Even though the restaurant is getting old, the food doesn't suffer from it. At the end we were offered a smoked trout at a really fair price. So many thanks to the entire team!!! Oh and the almond trout was a dream 👍🏼

We were a hungry hiking group who, due to Walpurgis Night, had no chance of getting dinner at the actual place we were staying overnight. During a quick call, the innkeeper promised us at very short notice that we seven hungry mouths could come over despite the restaurant closing soon. We received a very friendly welcome, delicious food and even coffee and ice cream sundaes after the kitchen had officially closed were still possible. Great service and a host who clearly enjoys being a host. Great thing! It should also be noted that there is also delicious food for all hungry vegetarians.

Very welcoming. The food was very tasty and everything was homemade. No pre-cooked or out of the bag. Conditionally courteous and friendly. There was a calm atmosphere in the room. There are also great opening times for service staff here. The work will definitely be fun.

Super nice rooms in a fantastic location right on the Bode. Plus a landlord who makes everything possible with advice and action. We'd love to come back.

Very tasty food, I had the roast veal, my grandpa had the trout Müllerin Art and my grandma had the pork schnitzel as a senior plate. Everything was very delicious. What stands out is the outstanding service!

Gute Küche zu fairen Preisen. War da als wir den Hexenstieg gelaufen sind. Hatte ein Hirschgulasch mit Hausgemachter Zitronen Limonade beides sehr zum Empfehlen. Das Essen war sehr Lecker und von sehr guter Qualität. Danach hatte ich ein Stück Pfirsich Quark Torte die auch sehr Lecker war der Service war immer nett und zu vorkommend.

Selbst in der Nebensaison Top-Adresse! Freundliches Personal, lecker regionales Essen! Kommen gern wieder!

Sehr gutes Restaurant mit tollen Wildgerichten und selbstgemachten Klößen. Der Service super, wir kommen bestimmt wieder. Hotel kann nicht bewertet werden da wir nur Essen waren.

Wir hatten sehr leckere Forellen in verschiedenen Variationen, und die Kinder waren glücklich mit ihrer Wahl aus der Kinderkarte. Der Service durch den Inhaber und sein Team ist sehr zuvorkommend und ging auf unsere Wünsche ein. Wir kommen gern wieder.

Gutes Essen zu üblichen Preisen. Hier bedient auch ein Serviceroboter. Aus der Not wurde diese Anschaffung getätigt,die so manchen Kunden ins Staunen versetzt. Mich auf jeden Fall. Wohl ein Blick in die Zukunft. Der Gastgeber und sein Personal sind sehr nett . Kommen gerne wieder.
