Unfortunately, I waited 20 minutes in the cold only to find out that there was space for reserved guests. This could easily be indicated with a sign on the closed door.

The food is delicious, especially the various schnitzel dishes and Harz specialties are worth a try. Let yourself be swept away by the cozy, friendly, and family atmosphere. Top-notch location! I stopped there on my last day of vacation to try the venison goulash with dumplings and red cabbage – I wasn't disappointed! Absolutely delicious! Plus two glasses of good wine. The service, the friendly atmosphere, and of course, the rustic ambiance were equally excellent. A definite recommendation for anyone traveling around Thale!

We were on a short break in the Harz Mountains and stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. Our family of five managed to get a table at short notice, and we were very impressed. Anyone who loves German cuisine, especially schnitzel in all its variations, will definitely get their money's worth here! We booked a table again the following evening! One criticism mentioned in a previous review was that we had to wait a bit longer for our food, but when the restaurant is packed, that can happen... and the wait was worth it!!! The landlady was also friendly and, despite the stress, was still in a fun mood - fantastic! We will definitely come back on our next stay! We're looking forward to it.

...The price-performance ratio is completely unjustified!!!!!! It was absolutely outrageous to charge €4.90 for 5 frozen croquettes and then add €1 each for a dollop of ketchup and mayo. The sanitation was okay. Service was friendly, and the one kitchen worker (chef) did her best to serve the existing guests. I can't agree with the existing Google reviews, but as we all know, taste and other things are subjective. Anyone who wants to can form their own opinion.

Great food and superb staff. We ate there two days in a row, and by the second day, we already felt like regulars... They knew our name and drink preferences. Despite it being busy, the staff were super friendly and took their time. Definitely go, but make a reservation beforehand 😉 The dog 🐕 is allowed in the restaurant.

We had reserved a table. First we had to wait a good hour and a half for our food to be served because there seemed to be a lot of people there. And then my food came. The potato quarters were really hot, I almost burned my mouth on them, but the schnitzel was lukewarm to cold. When I told the staff about this, they weren't happy and the cook was swearing, but I thought I hadn't heard her. I didn't get any new food. They just took the food off the bill so I didn't have to pay, and I was hungry because I hadn't eaten.

The food was super freshly prepared, but we were happy to wait a bit. The service was friendly and prompt. We had a reservation as a group of nine, and it was a very pleasant evening in this quaint brewery. You can choose your plate size/schnitzel size, and senior citizen plates are also available. We'll be back again and again. Thanks to the entire team.

Today we went to the Bräustübl for the first time in 2.5 years. The food was just as delicious as ever. The waitress was the same as she has been for over 20 years (very nice and always ready with a funny joke)! Our dog was also allowed in and was given some water. My favorite was and still is the mother-in-law's schnitzel. Simply delicious...! It's a shame they're only open for lunch on Saturdays and otherwise only in the evenings.

Hanold's Bräustübl is a historic inn dating back to 1775. The interior is very attractive. From the few outdoor tables, you have a beautiful view of the Bonhoeffer Church, which stands right next door, and the historic facade of the building. The landlady is very friendly and helpful, and the service is professional. I had solyanka and "Wurzelpeter," a schnitzel with salsify and baked cheese. You can choose your own side dish. I opted for fried potatoes, which were nice and crispy. The dishes are very appetizingly presented and tasted wonderful. The XL portion was huge. Everything is still prepared traditionally. Worth mentioning is the mild and tasty house beer, which is brewed in Nordhausen. Reservations are recommended, as tables fill up quickly after opening at 5:30 p.m. Dining here is truly an experience and highly recommended.

Thanks again for getting us space for 8 people despite a failed reservation. The food was delicious, and a visit here is highly recommended. We were out after a long day of hiking and found this restaurant via Google. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous... I would definitely recommend this excellent restaurant and would happily return.

The food is freshly prepared, but you can expect a bit of a wait if the restaurant is busy. But it's worth it! Absolutely recommend it; nostalgia for the former East Germany 😋 But... the schnitzel variations are unique!!! Very imaginative, I've never seen anything like it before 👌👌👌 Each of us had something different on our plates, and it tasted absolutely delicious! The ambiance is rustic and very cozy. If you really want to get a seat, you should make a reservation in advance. Depending on your taste, the food is okay to very good. The decor is very dated, but some people will probably like it. A few comfortable chairs would still be recommended. The outdoor seating area looks great.

A very cozy, village-style restaurant behind two beautiful large chestnut trees. Lovingly decorated with all sorts of items from the eastern past. The service was very friendly, and the restaurant was busy. We didn't have a reservation, but we still got a table after a short wait. The food was delicious. The schnitzels (four different versions) were NOT pre-made but homemade, tender, and delicious. High praise, I've had different experiences. There were five tables of varying sizes in the main area, and there were probably more in the adjoining room. Nevertheless, the waitresses were well-organized and had time for a few words. Highly recommended. We'd be happy to come back.

We were looking for a restaurant in Friedrichsbrunn for a family dinner. During our search, we came across Hanolds Bräustübl. We checked out the website and immediately reserved a table online. The food there is absolutely recommended! Very delicious, with super friendly service. Highly recommended!

I can't really give this place any stars! When we asked if the table was still free, the waitress responded brusquely, "Yes, would you like something to eat?" We replied, "Yes, of course." She then responded grumpily, "Not today, it's 45 degrees in the kitchen!" What kind of service is that? Other professions involve working in temperatures over 45 degrees, without air conditioning!!! Apparently, this place isn't for vacationers, but only for locals who want to drink their beer. Oh, I used to work in the hotel industry, and I know the conditions we worked under in the kitchen in the summer!! We didn't stop working because the thermometer showed over 40 degrees.

We were passing through and stopped there because of the good reviews. It was very busy, and we got the last table. The service was super friendly. The menu consists almost exclusively of schnitzel in all variations. These were incredibly juicy and delicious, and the side dishes like fried potatoes, fries, etc. were also really good. Great value for money. We can absolutely recommend the restaurant.

For me, a wonderful ambience paired with really good, stable German cuisine! Portions more than plentiful. It really tasted as advertised, “like Muddern”... wonderful. I can only recommend it to everyone! The price is absolutely moderate and okay. So if you need some refreshment after climbing the Hexentanzplatz, you've come to the right place!

However, you always have to reserve a place in advance... there are only 3 restaurants in the area... unfortunately this restaurant only opens at 5:30 p.m. and is closed twice a week (Sunday and Monday)...

After a short hike around Friedrichsbrunn, I reserved a table here last week. The dining room we sat in was quite small. Therefore it is better to reserve. It seems, as they say, rustic but cozy. The menu is very schnitzel-heavy, but we knew that. You can choose between all kinds of variations and also the size. 100g, 200g or 400g. I chose the schnitzel with peas and carrots, with fries and some side salad. The price here is around €20. We paid €96 for three people. The overall package looks round and harmonious. Service is friendly and fits in here. Card payment possible. I consider the quality of the schnitzel to be very good! I can recommend it with a clear conscience!

We were able to make a spontaneous reservation for last night, and as it turned out, it was the best decision we could have made! We were immediately warmly welcomed, and within a very short time, we were able to place our order. The ambiance is a bit rustic, but that gives the place its charm. As you can see from the picture, I can only agree with the taste. I've never eaten such perfect and delicious schnitzel before. You could taste the quality of the meat in every single bite! I would definitely recommend it, and it won't be our last visit! (:

We reserved a table at 5:30 p.m., which worked out great, the drinks order was taken quickly and they were brought relatively quickly. After we ordered the food there was 1.5 hours of silence, nothing, we weren't even asked if we wanted something to drink... Nothing... After 1.5 hours the food came, salad wasn't fresh. Schnitzel, if you can call it that, came probably from the freezer at Lidl, dead fried and fatty, totally greasy and tasteless. Fries and the sauce were good. When we wanted to pay, the lady, instead of bringing us the bill, started clearing the neighboring table, at our request, to finally bring us the bill (we had two small children with us, who were slow had to go to bed and were already totally crazy) the lady became really unfriendly and said that she couldn't share either. I can't recommend the food at all, just like the service, the house beer (light) is delicious.

I was at the Bräustübl with friends on Saturday, thank God we had a reservation. (Is strongly recommended to avoid disappointment) Since you're not just there to fill yourself up, there's no problem waiting for your food, but you get it fresh and not warmed up. Although everyone “only” had schnitzel, they were excellent and prepared with a lot of sophistication. Thanks to the very friendly and attentive service, there was no lack of replenishment of drinks. (Another reason to wait a bit) Worth every penny and definitely a reason to come back. This restaurant can only be rated 5 stars. Many thanks to the entire team.

We reserved a table here online with confirmation. When we arrived on site, no one knew anything about it. We could have sat at the counter, but we declined because we wanted to eat something comfortably. Surely mistakes happen to everyone, but the lady's way was impossible. Rude, annoyed and no apology. The man tried a little harder, but that didn't really help. At least they won't see us again.

We got two more seats at the counter without a reservation. Super nice staff and the food was very tasty and rich. Harzer noble brandies are very happy to recommend!

Delicious food at fair prices. We had a good meal here and will definitely come back. The schnitzel dishes are also available with vegan vegetable schnitzels for those who don't like eating meat. Tip: reserve a table in advance on the weekend as the restaurant is busy.
