Zur Gerichtslaube in Berlin

Intentaron reservar una mesa, pero dijeron que por regla general no aceptan ninguna reserva, sin embargo nos dijeron que no mucho tiempo esperando seguro. Una vez allí nos preguntaron si teníamos alguna reserva... de una manera totalmente poco profesional y descortés un joven camarero oxigenado nos dijo que podemos esperar aunque sea una hora o más para conseguir una mesa, olvida este lugar ya que son muy descortés y poco profesional, por suerte hay muchos lugares mucho mejores en los vecinos, lástima porque el edificio y los interiores son bonitos pero los humanos por dentro hacen la gran diferencia

Mein Lieblingsrestaurant im Nikolaiviertel ist derzeit wegen Renovierung geschlossen. Daher wählten meine Begleitung und ich die zum Zeitpunkt sehr, sehr gut besuchte "Gerichtslaube". Zu unserer großen Überraschung kamen die bestellten Essen äußerst schnell! Die "Halbe Flugente im Ofen gebacken" hatte niemals auch nur ansatzweise einen Ofen gestreift. Die erwartete knusprige Haut sah so unappetitlich grau aus wie die eines Suppenhuhnes in einer Kühlzelle! Meine "Schlachteplatte mit Kräuterkartoffeln" erwies sich als ein halbgares Stück Schweinebauch mit lauwarmen Blut- und Leberwürsten, wobei sich nur einige Schnittlauchröllchen - sonst nichts - auf einem einzigen Stück Kartoffel fanden. Zumindest wurde der Preis für die reklamierte Ente erstattet. Allein das wirklich wohlschmeckende Schöffenbier wird uns nicht noch einmal locken.

Superbe environnement avec des plats typique allemand. Le service est bon et rapide. Les plats généreux et goûteux. Leur bière est aussi très bonne ainsi que leur vin. Bon rapport qualité prix.

Locale tipico tedesco , abbiamo mangiato molto bene ed il personale era molto gentile e disponibile . Il locale era pieno , abbiamo atteso 30 minuti per il tavolo, nel frattempo due belle birre .Prezzi giusti

Very rude staff and overpriced, mediocre food. Waiters here need to learn to be a bit polite with the customers. This one blonde waiter made a huge scene loudly when I asked for a menu to check for desserts while we had some food on our plate saying that we had not finished our food yet. Terrible service! Easily the worst part of my Europe trip. I did not see such rude waiters anywhere else in Europe. Edit : Seeing the other low reviews seems most people have a problem with this guy. Also, reading the other reviews of non Germans being mistreated, I feel there is truth to that as we are non German too.

It tastes as delicious here as it does at Grandma’s. My veal liver was soft on the inside and slightly crispy on the edge. I could have used twice as much mashed potatoes. I was also impressed by the potato soup. Attentive and quick service.

Historic place that creates a very cozy and typical atmosphere if you want something purely Berlin. Large portions. Very friendly staff. Letters in a wide variety of languages.

We arrived by chance searching on Google and we were not wrong. Abundant and very good dishes, very pleasant atmosphere and service. With the letter in several languages. The knuckle was SPECTACULAR, for our taste, the only thing that could be improved a little was the dessert, but it still deserves 5 stars.

Very rustic and very cozy. Predominantly but not exclusively visited by tourists. When it's full it's a bit noisy. The food is hearty and delicious. Berlin cuisine instead of haute cuisine. The service is very attentive, friendly and quick. Can't complain!

Food too expensive for price/performance

We were there yesterday, our last day in Berlin! The waiters are very friendly and funny, the food was really tasty. You don't have to like the music, but it gave everything a special flair.

Very good restaurant with flair. The service is great, I call it “Berlin Schnauze” in a positive way with a lot of heart and humor. The food was very tasty, be it the beef roulade or the celery schnitzel. I also recommend the black beer. We were there with a group of around 30 people and didn't have to wait long for our various dishes. We will stop there again the next time we visit Berlin.

we chose this place by looking at the high rating of the reviews. the meat was alright, but we didn't really like the side dishes. nothing special regarding the service, we've found this restaurant a bit pricey for the quality of the food.

Very good restaurant to recommend....

I am pleased to once again share a pleasant gastronomic experience with you. Six of us went to the Gerichtslaube with six friends on March 21, 2025. We chose this location for several reasons. a) we didn't have to reserve a table b) we didn't have to wait until 90 minutes c) the very central location, steeped in history, and d) the menu we had already studied beforehand. The Gerichtslaube website and menu didn't overpromise (there's something for every taste). We were greeted with a cheerful smile and a hello (a good start). After we had noticed how great the ambience was, an attentive waitress came over and asked what we wanted. Then it began. Absolutely delicious beer that disappeared pretty quickly ;-). Refills came quickly and promptly. Then the food. All in all: all very tasty dishes. As advertised. We stayed from 4:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (which speaks for itself). Even though it was already closing time, the staff actually waited until we'd all finished our drinks. No stress and no rush. This kind of behavior stays in your memory. It happened as it had to happen. The decision to come back here was made quickly. There's nothing more to say. In short: we ALL really enjoyed ourselves and will come back. I hope many guests feel the same way as we did. Have fun.

Food was good and decor cute and this is in a very charming area of the city. Had the goulash and Schnitzl. Would give it a higher overall rating but wanted to underscore to check your bill carefully before you pay. I had two glasses of wine that were each 6.5E and the server charged me 9.8E. When I pointed it it, he subtracted 2E from the bill like I was the weirdo for asking and then claimed he’s the only one working and quite busy. He was actually very nice and I believe none of it was malicious. I’m just saying this was annoying and I’m leaving 3 stars because the food was good and it’s worth going - just triple check your bill.

Beautiful place 5 minutes walk from the television tower. The location is very suggestive and the food is delicious, at honest prices for the quantity eaten. The pork shank and space potatoes are recommended.

Amazing authentic food and the building was amazing. Great vegan options. The waitress was so kind letting us practice some of our recently learned German- but was very accommodating speaking English when we needed. Thank you!

A very interesting restaurant in a beautiful 13th-century building. The interior is authentic. The food is tasty and juicy, with huge portions. A standard selection of Berlin specialties. Try the raspberry wine. The only downside was the rude waiter, who was very unpleasant and impatient. On several occasions, he angrily commented in German in front of us, knowing that we couldn't understand him.

German site highly recommended for quality and price. We ordered the large German sausage and the schnitzel, both very good. The treatment of the girls on staff was great, very friendly and helping with what we asked for. Para una primera visita a Alemania, este pequeño restaurante tenía un ambiente auténtico para un restaurante clásico, tradicional, alemán. La comida era genial, los precios eran razonables, el personal era amable y volvería si alguna vez vuelvo a Berlín de nuevo.

We didn't like the food that much. It's just a tourist restaurant. The guest room is furnished the way you would imagine it to be as a tourist. The staff does what they can to cope with the rush of guests.

Fantastic experience of traditional Berlin cuisine in the central Mitte district, the dishes were tasty and impeccably presented, I don't remember the names but I can say that one was boiled pork and sausages with side dishes, while the other was veal liver with a brown base, red cabbage, onions, mashed potatoes with fried polenta The atmosphere of the place harks back to the turn of the 19th century, it is warm, welcoming and distinctly German. The beer was delicious, well accompanied by the dishes and an appetizer of battered camembert with sweet blueberry sauce.

I had dinner at Zur Gerichtslaube on Friday and was very happy! The place is wonderful: the ceiling is decorated with vaults and dark wooden beams and the environment is very welcoming. The staff is friendly and the food is excellent, typical German. I ate the best goulash soup of my life. Prices are affordable. I recommend to anyone who wants to try German cuisine in Berlin!

The building is a contemporary reproduction of the original which was destroyed in WWII. It was rebuilt for the 750th birthday of Berlin. Somewhat "Disneyesque". Nevertheless the reproduction is very charming and cozy "Old World". I've been a few times and had the Rouladen each time. Each time it was not cooked properly and was tough. Being in a tourist area the prices are somewhat higher than you will find in a neighborhood German restaurant.

we chose this restaurant given the historic building and the location, perhaps fooled a little by the nice reviews. well received and menu in Italian, the restaurant presented itself in an inviting manner, the two beers were excellent, we took half a liter of the "unique" ones. we order a roast for two: the pork was raw in all respects, to be eaten as if it were plastic, the seasoning (salt and pepper) was missing everywhere, in particular on the boiled potatoes which tasted of nothing. their meatball is normal, nothing exciting, the sausage is good. although we were warmly welcomed, the waiters never came to ask us how the dinner was going or to make sure, more generally, that everything was going well. after finishing (leaving the pork) we placed the forks inside the plate, it took at least 15/20 minutes before someone came to clear the table (they cleared the table given our request for a dessert, otherwise who knows how long it would have taken). I do not recommend this restaurant, the beautiful building and the intriguing history, I would recommend it as a museum, but it is not.

Well, we fell for this tourist trap. The food was average, no flavor, and it seems like they just heat it up in the microwave. Additionally the service was slow, rude and inattentive. We had high expectations based on all the positive reviews but it was rather disappointing. The decor was nice but the room was a lot smaller than we expected so it felt quite crowded with other guests too close for comfort. No, we don't recommend this restaurant.

Wonderful, cozy and very picturesque place. Tavern in the purest medieval style. The food is simply delicious if you like Berlin food, beers, everything you would expect. Tip: arrive early as the place usually fills up.

They recommended this place to us at the airport and unfortunately we cannot rate their food. The kitchen closing time was 10:00 p.m. and after landing after a long flight we decided to go straight. Being Saturday we didn't think they would be so strict. We arrived exhausted and hungry at 9:40 p.m. and upstairs they told us that they would give us dinner downstairs. What was our surprise when a waitress, a young woman with an unfriendly face, told us that it was closed. The dining room was full and there was just a small table for two people. We asked her to please give us dinner as it would be something quick, and she and another lady at the bar flatly refused. Anyway, Saturday and it being Christmas, a disappointment. Today we will try another one with good comments that is just 1 min away. Merry Christmas to these two very kind women.

we wanted to have a weekend in Berlin and wanted to return to this Berlin cuisine restaurant. We didn't know how to book and tried via email; exceptional!!!! The management responded immediately and set us a table for two. The dishes are exceptional as always. The courtesy of the staff is supreme. Thank you with all my heart. Supplement dated 16 December 2024: we managed to find a place without booking, staff always available and friendly. We started with goulash which apparently was very popular 🤣🤣 (see photo of empty plate).

Si hay una zona de Berlín que sé que voy a visitar en cualquier vacación que tome a esta fascinante ciudad es Nikolaiviertal (Barrio Nicholas ) una zona maravillosa de la ciudad que tiene un encanto del viejo mundo todo el suyo propio con calles empedradas, hermosa arquitectura y un montón de grandes pubs, bares y restaurantes, un restaurante en el que mi hermano gemelo y yo decidimos pasar fue Zur Gerichtslaube, he estado aquí muchas veces a lo largo de los años, siempre lo pasamos bien y así lo demostró en nuestra última visita. Un restaurante de gran aspecto, el interior es tan tradicional como se pone, hermosos techos abovedados, características de madera oscura abundan en todo este restaurante, maravillosa decoración y mobiliario y un montón de opciones de asientos repartidos por todo este restaurante tanto dentro como fuera en su preciosa cervecería mirando a las hermosas calles Nikolaiviertal este restaurante se sienta. Fuimos recibidos y sentados por un miembro muy agradable del equipo del bar, pedimos cervezas que se sirven heladas frías y espumosas y para nuestras comidas optamos por tener salchicha, patatas, chucrut con pan, una corta espera y nuestras comidas llegaron y lo que un gran placer, las salchichas eran tan sabrosas, patatas deliciosas y chucrut tan bueno , bañado con cervezas alemanas finas hechas para una experiencia gastronómica maravillosa en un restaurante fabuloso, no podía faltar nada de nuestra visita aquí, gran comida, gran cerveza pero lo mejor de todo personal maravilloso que están genuinamente contentos de verte en su restaurante, no puede esperar para ir de nuevo la próxima vez que estemos en Berlín. Seguimos adelante después de nuestras comidas y cervezas y como en cualquier otra visita a aquí nos lo pasamos muy bien. Zur Gerichtslaube es fácil de localizar a lo largo de Poststraße, una zona repleta de pubs, bares, cafeterías y restaurantes y una arquitectura increíble y un destino turístico importante. Enjoy a meal at Christmas time in an authentic atmosphere. There was also a draft beer in a friendly atmosphere. The traditional cuisine fits perfectly with the ambience of the vaulted interior and feels like you have been transported back to a bygone era... in the middle of Berlin.

volevamo fare un fine settimana a Berlino e volevamo tornare in questo ristorante di cucina berlinese. Non sapevamo come prenotare e abbiamo tentato via mail ; eccezionale!!!! La direzione ci ha risposto subito e ci ha tenuto un tavolo per due. Le pietanze sono eccezionali come sempre. La cortesia del personale è sopraffina. Grazie di cuore.

We found this place on google maps, went in and the man asked us what we wanted in an aggressive tone, we said “could we have a table for 2 please”, and he shouted at us quite extremely saying we would have to wait. Clearly our response had angered him for some reason but not sure what else we were supposed to respond to his question, we had no problem waiting but after the extremely aggressive response we didn’t want to spend any money there, I’m also asian so not sure if the place is just racist. So we left and went to Mutter Hope around the corner which has a very similar German vibe and architecture but with much more friendly staff, the food and drinks there were delicious so would much more recommend that place!

The waitresses who served us were very pleasant and quick in their service and made an effort to make sure they understood everything. Without a doubt if we return to Berlin we will return there to eat. Highly recommended.
