Great restaurant with excellent service....

Food was okay, but the service was truly awful. I'll keep it short and sweet. - My 98-year-old grandmother's meal change request was met with great reluctance. - Due to my grandmother's advanced age and the natural background noise in the restaurant, we had to speak louder to her. We were then told to lower our voices (which is simply unacceptable). - The food was cleared away even though one person hadn't finished eating. We weren't asked if we wanted dessert. - When we wanted to pack up some of the food, the server shoved it into the container right in front of us, like it was being thrown into a pigsty. It looked like garbage in the container. Honestly, this is completely unacceptable. Marcus, you can do better.

Very friendly service, even though it gets very busy in the evenings around Christmas time. Christmas dinner, etc. The kale had apparently been waiting a bit too long for me. It tasted very good. But the Grüzwurst (a type of sausage) isn't to my liking. The Mettwurst (a type of German sausage), on the other hand, was doubly delicious.

The staff were friendly and competent. The dishes were pre-ordered and therefore arrived quickly. My dish was the turkey roulade with gingerbread sauce, carrots, and hash browns. The carrots were a bit overcooked, and the sauce could have been more flavorful. Therefore, only 4 stars.

Great Bavarian cuisine Top! Addendum November 26, 2025 Unfortunately, we have to report that the prices have increased significantly, and this is the fifth time something has gone wrong. A voucher was issued, but its number wasn't recorded in the restaurant's ledger. Only by sheer luck, based on the amount, was it determined that it was genuine. Furthermore, either the dessert was forgotten, or even worse, the yeast dumpling was still frozen inside. Not to mention the goose, which cost almost €40 and was as tough as leather! We'll give you one more chance, but if this goes wrong again, you'll definitely lose us as regular customers! Sorry, but this is unacceptable!

A very nice little restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and a good selection of tasty German dishes. The three of us were there for lunch. The service was pleasant and friendly, the food arrived quickly and tasted great. All in all, a good choice for a nice meal. We'd gladly come again.

A very nice restaurant with excellent service. The food is delicious and the selection is extensive. We came as a group of 11 people and had made a reservation in advance.

When the weather is good, you can sit outside. The staff are very nice and friendly.

Makes the Bavarian corner of the northern German heart beat faster. Delicious food, a fitting ambiance, and super friendly service. (There's also a beer garden in the summer.) There are even vegetarian dishes on the menu. All in all, a definite recommendation for Bavarian food. I'd love to eat there more often, but then I'll just roll out of the restaurant at some point :D

Excellent Bavarian cuisine right on the Hunte River – a dream, you might think, but the dream comes true once you've been there, and we did so again recently. We've been there several times this year, and we can't share any negative opinions. Feedback was accepted and actually implemented, which doesn't happen all that often. Hi, I was there with my husband yesterday. The food was really tasty and you get full and the staff are really friendly. We would love to come back again. My husband thinks the fried potatoes are so delicious and his schnitzel was delicious too 😋 😋 😋 😋 😋 simply a good place. I had already gotten food from there and said to my husband, we have to go to the Brückenwirtin, the burger with the avocado grem is really tasty and the fries are really tasty too 😋 😋 😋 😋 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 and the food came out really quickly.

Great restaurant. Delicious Bavarian and German food. We always enjoy our visit. Today was our first time eating spare ribs, and they were simply perfect—five stars and five more to go. So delicious, and the price was unbeatable. Even the other customers wanted to order them because they looked so good. Unfortunately, the two of us couldn't even finish the first large plate, but we took it home. A very nice evening yesterday. The service was also incredibly good and super friendly. We had a very nice seat. It wasn't a problem that we were there in a wheelchair. Very wheelchair-friendly. We're always happy to come back. Eating as many spare ribs as you like is only available on Thursdays, and you need to make a reservation at least five days in advance.

This is my home... this is where I can be. A beer, outside or inside, one of the delicious dishes served by the friendly waiters... always very attentive... never an empty beer mug 🍺 😁... I love being here!!!

Here, you can get goulash that tastes like grandma's, only without having to chop wood or empty the potato cellar first. The Kaiserschmarrn? Life-threatening, you'll want more than is healthy. I've been here several times. Usually in the beer garden when the weather permits. Food requests are accommodated in a friendly manner. Great dishes and very generous portions. The staff are always super friendly. I highly recommend it. 👍

It's simply a shame that such a beautifully located restaurant with a beer garden has such unfriendly staff. There are definitely one or two nice waiters, but they are the absolute exception. The woman with short blonde hair, in particular, is simply fake and incredibly unfriendly. Every time, you're surprised by how unfriendly things get, but today we were faced with the tip of the iceberg – we were banned from playing cards. We thought it was a joke and asked why. Many restaurants had to close because the only people who came were to play cards and occupy the tables, leaving no room for people who wanted to eat. Fair in theory (if you're only interested in profiting from the people who eat there). BUT: 1. The beer garden was practically empty, so there was still plenty of room for diners, and 2. The woman didn't even attempt to politely inform us or offer a reason of her own. The situation completely brought our spirits down. It's insane that this woman is still allowed to work there with such behavior towards customers. It's a shame, that was definitely my last visit there.

Disastrous Staff First of all: The food and ambiance are really good, and I've been coming here for years despite the unfriendly service. However, the final straw has come. The waitress with her fake "friendliness" (short blonde hair) has attracted negative attention several times before, but the great food made it easy to overlook this. Today, however: Playing a card game (Uno) was prohibited. It wasn't particularly busy, there were plenty of free tables, and we were told that we had to refrain from playing cards, as this was also stated in the restaurant's terms and conditions. We thought it was a joke. But that wasn't the case. Even if card playing is frowned upon, perhaps they could have handled the situation with appropriate sensitivity. It didn't bother anyone; there were two of us, and we would have happily sat there longer, eaten, and had a drink. This made us feel incredibly uncomfortable and anything but welcome. The restaurant has so much potential, but it's just shooting itself in the foot with this kind of service.

The food was excellent value for money. Unfortunately, unlike the other tables, our waiter was barely engaged and completely service-oriented. He received the feedback personally.

We spontaneously stopped by this restaurant for lunch today. The menu includes a wide variety of dishes, mostly with pork. But there are also some very good vegetarian options. Our meal, a schnitzel and a chicken salad, was very good. The flavor was amazing, and the portions were more than sufficient. The servers were prompt, very friendly, and very responsive to specific questions. We'd be happy to come back and say thank you.

One waiter, Carsten, is great, the food is quite good, but you're not allowed to play games there :( Another waiter made homophobic comments and wore a German flag on his arm, very questionable.

Although there were no available tables online, I sent an email and got a table for three people. The food was delicious and plentiful. We could barely finish it. The men loved the knuckle of pork. I had the vegan burger, which was also very tasty. The schnapps are also high-quality. The service was very good and friendly. We will return on our next visit. Perhaps in the summer, when you can sit outside. The interior has a rustic, cozy pub atmosphere.

My good colleague and I decided to have dinner here today based on my recommendation, as I'd heard so many good things about the restaurant. Our orders were taken promptly, and our drinks and appetizers arrived relatively quickly, while the main course took over an hour (!!). It should be noted that it was a Wednesday evening, and people who arrived much later than us were served. As for the meal itself, I couldn't find much to criticize; both the semolina dumpling soup and the roast suckling pig were very tasty and filling. My companion's cheese spaetzle, on the other hand, was practically flavorless and devoid of any cheese and/or spices, making it absolutely not worth the price they charged. The complementary salad was completely drenched in dressing and also inedible. Overall, a rather disappointing visit, and I won't be returning again. A real shame, as I had high expectations of the restaurant, which were largely unfulfilled. For future visitors, I hope that our visit was an isolated incident and that we were not treated differently than other guests because of our appearance or style of dress; I would like to hope that the latter is not the case at this point.

We've been there several times now and have never been disappointed. The food has always been delicious.

The three of us had a wonderful meal here in the beer garden on Friday. The food was very good, and the service was friendly and attentive. The delicious platter was a real challenge. The flies in the hedges were a real annoyance that day.

We come here every year for dinner on holiday. The food is good, nothing to complain about. But: When we arrived, our table wasn't clean; there were leftovers from previous guests on it. I then cleaned it myself with a tissue because the service was terrible from the waiter in the red and white checked shirt with a lot of white on the shoulder area (not completely red and white checked), name tag (which was never easy to read because he kept turning away), and glasses. He came to our table and saw me cleaning it myself. I wished someone would get a cloth and wipe it down. Then I wanted to give my food order and he gave me a rude reply: Drinks first. Then we gave the drinks and I said, "I'd like the large Diet Pepsi, please." He replied: "I've written them all down in large anyway. Why don't you ask the guest whether they want a large or small one?" A little later, as he walked past, he slammed the wooden cutlery tray down on the table so hard that the cutlery almost fell out. The other waiters, the one in the dark T-shirt with the tattoo on his left calf (the one who brought us the food and drinks) and the other (also wearing a white and red checked shirt without much white on the shoulders) who took our payment, were friendly and attentive. The food was not good or not salted (fried potatoes with a fried egg). I always tip at least 20-25% of the bill if the service is good. Here today it was only about 60 or 70 cents on a bill of over €30. We always hoped that the service would improve, but this is the last time we come here. What a shame. Good location, great beer garden, but they need to work on their hospitality! Only 1 star for service because the waiter was abysmal. The other two deserved 5 stars!

It was very warm and humid that day. It was very crowded, and everything took longer. The food wasn't that tasty (baked potato with salad). The salad was drenched in balsamic dressing.

One of the male conditions was very rude. The Leberkäse (meatloaf) was dry, the beer sauce appeared to be from a package, and the fried potatoes were only warmed up.

Lunch (schnitzel with potato wedges) – the food came quickly, the service was friendly. The portion was OK. The schnitzel tasted very strange, somewhat musty and old. Potato wedges and sauces from a discount store. The same goes for the bean salad and the pudding dessert. No taste, no love, or individuality. It could have been improved a bit. With a drink, it was €20. I could have made it myself (better) for half the price. The chef should do an internship in Barcelona; the same price but the food is much better.

The location is super nice, and the service was generally decent. However, the "Teufelchen" (baked cheese in a loaf of bread) was a huge disappointment. The dish arrived 5-10 minutes later than the other dishes at the table, but it was still practically cold, and the bread was dry. It seemed like it had been reheated—a shame!

Unfortunately, the service was rather disappointing. The waiters had a very arrogant and rude manner, which significantly spoiled the overall impression. It felt like you had to serve the waiters with your orders, not the other way around. Another example: The lady at the counter asked us to leave the entrance area to pay, and when we then wanted to go outside to smoke, she arrogantly said that we could go a minute without a cigarette – that was simply unfriendly. Even after our meal, we were asked several times by different waiters if we wanted something to drink, even though everyone had already said "no" several times. It almost seemed as if they were trying to pressure us into ordering more. On top of that, it was quite warm in the restaurant, and we had to make an effort to get some fresh air. Overall, the food is highly recommended, but the service and atmosphere could be significantly better. As a result, my visit wasn't a pleasant restaurant experience.

Hello everyone. I saw mostly German cuisine here. We were actually here yesterday for a birthday, the beer prices were a bit expensive for me. The location of the restaurant is great, you have the chance to sit outside by the canal. We had a generally normal time here.

We spontaneously decided to go to Brückenwirten. I can say it was a good decision. We actually got a free table outside at lunchtime. After a short arrival, the service staff was immediately there and presented us with the cards. After studying the menu for a few minutes we were able to order straight away, everything went very quickly and we promptly got drinks and then our food. Five different dishes, beautifully prepared and super tasty. All in all highly recommended!!! 👍🏻Portions enough to fill you up.

Ambience great. Depending on the crowd, the appropriate volume. Food was actually good. Great German cuisine. However, my fried potatoes came to the table cold and the meat was only lukewarm. The drink we ordered didn't even arrive. Everything from my husband's food was great. We would still visit the location again, as we don't want to say that it isn't worth a visit because of these "small" defects. Maybe there was just too much to do or something. Therefore we can and want to say it is recommended :)

My wife and I went to the restaurant for the first time with friends. Everyone was very satisfied. The dishes are excellent and inexpensive. The service was also very good. We will definitely come back.

The Bergsteiger Schnitzel is huge and juicy and delicious. Wednesdays are Händl day. The half merchant was nice and crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.

Highly recommended! We were there on Haxenmontag. The knuckles were really tasty and the beer selection was great! The service is attentive and courteous. The atmosphere: Authentic! Be sure to reserve in the evening. The beer garden is one of the most beautiful in Oldenburg.

We were registered for dinner with eight people (seven of them for spare ribs - to eat enough). The first and only drink came quickly and the only "load" of ribs didn't take long to arrive. That was the only highlight. After almost an hour and asking if there would be more, we realized that we had been completely forgotten not only about the food, but also about the drinks. Other guests were directed to neighboring tables so we were not out of sight of the staff. The staff then tried to placate us, but the feeling of fullness had long since arrived and even a snap or coffee drink couldn't have helped. Last but not least, when we billed we were charged the full amount for the meal. Conclusion...if the weather is good, don't make a reservation inside, as the staff like the fire department will put out the thirsty fires in the beer garden and unfortunately the guests will be "forgotten" in the restaurant. We as a group have already gotten to know the service differently and hope that the usual service will be used again on our next visit.
