Essen war super lecker gar keine Frage aber ich muss doch einen Punkt abziehen weil ich das Preis Leistungs Verhältnis nicht ganz stimmig ist.

Mit 5 Personen im Caldero gegessen; fast alle hatte ihre eigenen Präferenzen - und alle sind vollends zufrieden vom Tisch gegangen. Die Empfehlungen der Bedienung waren sehr sinnvoll und wie sich dann zeigte, auch sehr zielführend. Die Breite des Angebots war eindrucksvoll und jedes - wirklich jedes - Tapas-Gericht war geschmackvoll und auf eine oft besondere Weise zubereitet. Da kam niemals der Eindruck auf, dass hier Massenware aufgetischt wurde, alles sehr lecker und auch sehr schön präsentiert. Auch die Menge war völlig ausreichend. Bei Bestellung der Tapas-Platten gab es noch die Vorstellung, dass danach ggf. noch das ein oder andere Tapas-Gericht nachbestellt werden müsste. Aber es ging dann tatsächlich gar nichts mehr: alle war gut gesättigt. Die Bedienung(en) war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Fazit: alle waren der Meinung, bisher selten so gut gegessen zu haben.

Gleich Vorweg: Es war womöglich nicht die beste Gelegenheit für einen ersten Eindruck am Tag der "Komischen Nacht" Veranstaltung in diesem Lokal. Es wurden wesentlich mehr Tische und Stühle bereitgestellt um im Zuge der Veranstaltung mehr Gäste unterbringen zu können. Jedoch wurden dann sämtliche 4 Personen Tische mit 6 Person überfüllt, an einer dreier Tischreihe wo normalerweise Platz für insgesamt 12 Personen wäre saßen dann auf einmal 18 Personen Schulter an Schulter. Es war an diesem Abend also sehr ungemütlich. Dennoch wurde die gesamte Speisekarte angeboten. Das hat mich an diesem vollen Abend doch sehr gewundert. Ich habe das mit Abstand teuerste Gericht, die Rindermedallions, bestellt und habe rund 80 Minuten auf mein Essen gewartet. Gäste die nach mir kamen wurden wesentlich früher mit großen Mehrpersonenplatten bedient. Letztlich waren die Medallions ungenießbar. Zäh, faserig, einseitig roh, andere Seite verbrannt. Die Champignons waren kalt. Die Pommes waren in Ordnung. Ich habe mich im Trubel der Veranstaltung nicht direkt beklagt, da an meinem Tischende die Bühne der Comedians war. Allerdings habe ich nach der Veranstaltung als der Kellner fragte ob alles in Ordnung sei angemerkt, dass das Essen sehr schlecht war. Die Antwort vom Personal war an Dreistigkeit nicht zu übertreffen. Mit einem frechen Lächeln entgegnete der Kellner: „Aber Sie haben es doch gegessen" „Ja“ „Na sehen se' “.... Das hat auch die Gäste neben mir sehr empört die mich zuvor mit meinem Essen haben kämpfen sehen.... Beim Zahlen kam schließlich der Chef an meinen Tisch und entschuldigte sich für die Unannehmlichkeiten. Zwar wurde am Preis nichts gemacht, es wurde aber Schnaps angeboten den ich gewillt war als Entschuldigung anzunehmen..... nur kam dieser für weitere 30 Minuten nicht und da bin ich schließlich gegangen. Fazit: -Ich denke das Personal war für diesen vollen Abend völlig überfordert. Meiner Meinung nach hätte man entweder das Essen nur zeitlich vor der Veranstaltung anbieten sollen bevor der Trubel mit den Comedians beginnt oder eben nur einen Teil der Karte an diesem Abend anbieten. -Das Lokal war völlig überfüllt. Die Tische zu voll besetzt. Dabei war an diesem Abend der Besuch nur mit Reservierung möglich. Man hätte dies also wesentlich besser einteilen können. Aber ich verstehe natürlich die Gewinnmaximierung..... -Zu dem Umgang mit Kunden durch Kellner und Chef brauch ich vermutlich nicht viel sagen. Respektlos und schlichtweg schade. -Die Geräuschkulisse ist an so einem vollen Abend natürlich fürchterlich. Auch ohne Comedian war es brüllend laut. Ich denke da ändert sich auch nicht viel dank des alten rustikalen Kellergewölbes der aus dem Essbereich einen regelrechten Saal macht. -Die Toiletten waren sehr schmutzig und unzumutbar. -Allgemein ist die Karte sehr teuer. (Bsp: Tapas mit Side Dish 25€) Dennoch muss ich zugeben, dass rein optisch dieses alte Gewölbe sehr schön ist. Schließlich wie ein alter Weinkeller. Schön geschmückt inklusive der Bar-Theke Das überwiegt aber nunmal nicht den Rest der Erfahrung und ich muss leider sagen: Ich werde definitiv nicht wiederkommen und kann dieses Lokal auch leider nicht empfehlen.

Schönes Lokal welches im Keller gelegen ist. Tolles Ambiente,aufmerksamer Service. Das Essen war sehr lecker und reichlich.

Die Tapas waren sehr lecker. Das Ambiente ist toll. Allerdings gibt es in einem Teil den Restaurants furchtbar ungemütliches Deckenlicht. Wir haben uns dann kurzerhand für einen anderen Tisch entschieden, der war sehr schön.

Wir gehen richtig gerne ins Caldero, weil wir spanisches Essen lieben und das Ambiente in dem alten Gemäuer einfach etwas Besonderes ist. Gestern waren wir zu unserem Jahrestag wieder da. Bei der Online-Reservierung konnten wir den Anlass angeben und das wurde total schön umgesetzt: ein liebevoll gedeckter Tisch und ein Glas Sekt zur Begrüßung, wir haben uns direkt wohlgefühlt. Das Team ist super freundlich und herzlich, wir kommen immer gerne wieder. Auch das Essen ist jedes Mal hervorragend: Wir ernähren uns vegan und nehmen meistens die vegane Paella, aber auch die Tapas sind sehr sehr lecker. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall immer wieder gerne :)

Sehr schneller und netter Service. Das Essen war sehr lecker, schön zusammengestellt und angerichtet. Wir hatten als Dessert Creme Catalana, die war auch fabelhaft. Sehr gemütliches interessantes Ambiente in dem Kellergewölbe. Nur die Musik hätte minimal leiser sein können, aber das ist meckern auf hohem Niveau.

Wir sind mit einer Gruppe von 10 Personen hergekommen, wurden sehr schnell bedient und das Essen kam auch zu einer angemessenen Zeit, dafür, dass so viel los war. Das essen war großzügig von den Portionen her und wir sind alle satt geworden! Bei den Cocktails wurde, wie so oft, nicht gespart. Wir sind begeistert! Vielen lieben Dank an das Team für den tollen Service!

Wir waren am vergangenen Samstag dort essen und haben es sehr genossen. Die Tapasplatte für 2 Personen war wirklich super und reichlich. Der Service war wie das Essen einfach super. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Ambiente ist recht schön, allerdings ist es etwas laut, wenn es voll ist. Die einzelnen Gerichte waren gut, aber nicht sehr gut. Punktabzüge gibt es für den sehr freundlichen Service, der allerdings unorganisiert und überfordert wirkte. Wir haben sehr lange gewartet bis wir bestellen konnten. Und nochmal, bis die Getränke und die Speisen gebracht wurden.

The food was really delicious, but some parts were very expensive. Also, providing two tiny baskets with small slices of bread for eight people wasn't very customer-friendly.

Caldero has been my favorite spot in the city center for many years. The tapas selection is excellent, and the food is highly recommended. The drinks menu leaves nothing to be desired; there's a beautifully curated selection of wines and spirits. The service is warm and welcoming, and the ambiance in the old cellar is simply cozy. I love coming here!

We wanted to eat fresh paella, but it was a complete disaster. The meal consisted mostly of rice, with few additions. No fresh mussels, dry chicken cubes, and overcooked prawns. Poorly seasoned, bland. And very expensive. I hardly need to mention it: Aldi's frozen version tastes considerably better, so save your money.

We caught a day when we were severely understaffed. A single server had to constantly run up and down stairs, as the restaurant is located in a vaulted cellar and also has outdoor seating. This meant everything took a bit longer. If the weather is bad and the only guests are downstairs, that might work.

We ate there with family, and it was simply outstanding. From the friendly service to the beautiful ambiance to the perfect food, everything was perfect. I even celebrated my party with 30 people there once. It was impressive how every wish was fulfilled.

Absolutely one of the best restaurants in Oldenburg. The service is always very friendly and accommodating. The ambiance is very charmingly rustic and brings you a little closer to Spain. I couldn't complain about the food either. Everything was as described on the menu and absolutely delicious. We'll be back again :)

My visit to this restaurant was a mixed experience overall. The service was consistently attentive, friendly, and very professional—there's absolutely nothing to complain about. The ambiance was also impressive: stylishly decorated, inviting, and designed with attention to detail. Unfortunately, the culinary offerings didn't live up to my initial impression. Perhaps it was the recent holiday memories of Spain that raised my expectations somewhat—but I was still disappointed by the quality of the food. In terms of taste, much of the food fell short of what the price and presentation promised. I therefore found the value for money to be unbalanced. A place with a lot of potential, especially in terms of service and atmosphere—but unfortunately, the culinary offerings didn't live up to the level I had hoped for.

The food was extremely overpriced and tasted like nothing. I don't think I'm a big critic, but for the money I spent I could have gone out for a good meal. I'll never stay away again.

After our civil wedding we celebrated in a closed circle. It was simply beautiful! We were allowed to decorate everything in peace the evening before and we were able to discuss a lot in advance. Great collaboration! The location has an incredibly beautiful atmosphere and has now created memorable moments for us!

The new owner tried so hard to make the day perfect for us and in my opinion is one of the best restaurateurs I have met! The food was phenomenal (especially the eggplant with honey) and the service was as you would expect. So I can highly recommend the Caldero, especially for a private celebration!

Typical Spanish tapas food. Restaurant Caldero is located in the entrance of the Lamberti Passage, immediately to the right. The stairs go down into a beautiful vaulted cellar made of clinker stone. Soothing Spanish background music welcomes you. Only open from 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Finally managed to be here.

Food was very tasty and the cocktails were really good too. The menu says that there is bread with the tapas. When we finished it, the waiter asked if he should refill it. My husband then said that he would probably like to have something else. But we were then charged €5.50 on the bill. In principle it's okay, but unfortunately he SHOULD have mentioned it!

Delicious food, nice service, a bit quick!

We ate at Caldero at a Christmas party on December 19, 2024. The food served was disappointing. The portion is far too small for the price. The salt-crusted Spanish potatoes were only lukewarm and lacked the original green and orange garlic sauce. The alleged Serano ham was just cheap discount goods. The chicken skewers are a joke. It felt like there was baguette as a starter and the main course also consisted mostly of baguette. Unfortunately no recommendation.

Great curb appeal which drew us in but then waited 45 minutes for an overpriced low quality, assembled platter (the Caldero) and another 15 minutes for the chicken livers which were raw, oddly the dates wrapped in prosciutto were overcooked and the prosciutto burnt.. Would have been better off going to McDonalds!

Waren heute im Rahmen des Lamberti Weihnachtsmarktes im Caldero essen. 3 tapas für uns 2 ausreichend, Lammtopf, geröstetes Gemüse und gegrillte Aubergine mit Honig. Leckere Kombi und alles geschmacklich hervorragend. Gemütliches Ambiente im Gewölbekeller und sehr nettes Personal. Sehr zu empfehlen!,,

The food was tasty, but the price-performance ratio wasn't OK. No glass of wine under €8. Service nice, but inexperienced. Actually a nice restaurant, but we were sitting in a dark corner.

Landed in the restaurant by chance before the Christmas market. Actually nice to look at in the vaulted cellar. Upon closer inspection, the floor was littered with dirt and broken glass. There were probably a few no-name actors as guests, as there were a number of pictures with explanations of the visit hanging on the wall. I would first concentrate on the essentials, food and cleanliness. Cleanliness: poor Food: max. Average in quality and quantity. Due to the sub-optimal location, things won't be easy for the restaurant in the future. One visit is enough for us.

We went into the village during a work trip to have a bite to eat. I searched Google in advance and the restaurant immediately caught my eye. It was difficult to find, but I found it thanks to a chalkboard. Super friendly welcome, polite staff and the service was even proficient in Dutch. Delicious food and drinks in a typical German location with a Spanish ambiance. Recommended!

Totally authentic restaurant with traditional tapas. Service was great, the food was really good and the quality was great. The atmosphere is really impressive! Spain in Oldenburg 🇪🇸

Price/performance ratio not ok. The prices are clearly too high, the food is tasty, but - considering the prices - not outstanding. The service is friendly, but slow and not particularly attentive. The ambience itself is nice because of the rooms, but the lighting is not well coordinated at all. Sometimes you are blinded at the tables, sometimes you sit in the dark that you can't even decipher the menu.

Unfortunately, almost all of the employees were absent that evening. The other service was overloaded even though only 5 tables were occupied. We had to wait 1 hour for the food. The portions were very small and we weren't really full, even though we had a bill of almost €100 that evening. The bread with ajioli was four slices of a mini baguette, the kind I also use for baking. Despite the not good service and the long waiting time, there was no bread to tide me over or a little attention from the boss, luckily I know it differently. It's a shame, apparently the change in ownership didn't do any good?

Fallafel were far too salty and the service staff always seemed annoyed. I'll probably save myself a second visit.

Unfortunately we had to wait a long time, even though it was maybe half full. The order was taken after about 40 minutes, drinks came 15 minutes later and food came again 15 minutes later. The tapas were okay.

Nevertheless, we ate outside due to the nice weather, The food was really a 9/10 Despite different preparation times, the food came to the table at the same time We'd love to come back!

A very nice restaurant in the vaulted cellar. Very cozy. The waiter was very attentive and friendly. We ate the Caldero tapas plate for two people. It cost almost 50 euros. It was simply far too little for that! For example, only 1 (!) shrimp and 2 small meatballs were provided per person. The rest is sufficient for at most 1 person. So I was disappointed. The value of the goods was a maximum of 7 euros. The taste was good, but not special. It's a shame, because it's really very comfortable there.

Service completely overloaded, food "a little" oversalted, toilets broken. Despite the few guests, the service at the table was very slow and the espresso was almost cold. The tapas plate itself had enough potatoes, but meat was very sparse. Tastes okay if you like salt. Had promised us more.

Today we were in the Caldero for the first time (three of us) and were very positively surprised by the vaulted cellar. The cards arrived quickly and the order was taken. We ordered 10 different little things (we shared everything) and 1 drink each. Bringing the drinks, food and the bill took longer than we are used to at other restaurants. But it didn't hurt the ambience or the taste/presentation of the food. We averaged €21 and we were all pleasantly full. I can really recommend this restaurant. However, if you are still limited in terms of time, you should come back another time :-)

We first had to see where we could get to the Caledro. Pretty quickly we would be asked for drinks and food. I think the waiting time was still reasonable. The food was well prepared but in my opinion a little too little for two people when both are hungry. We had a plate for two. A little more spice would have been better for me, I know how it works when it's not too spicy because I have younger kids. All in all it was a nice visit and tasted good.
