Pfefferprinz in Oldenburg (Oldb)

We went there for breakfast on a Saturday. The selection is huge, everything fresh and varied! There's also a great vegan selection; I was absolutely thrilled. The atmosphere is fantastic, but it can get very crowded on weekends, so reservations are definitely recommended.

We went there this afternoon just to grab a quick coffee and some cake. The cheesecake in a glass with the various toppings is a great idea and tastes fantastic. However, the whole experience was unacceptable. The staff seemed completely overwhelmed. After waiting for half an hour, I asked where our order was. The owner overheard this. We then heard him on the phone, visibly upset and angry. He was ranting and raving about his staff. It was awful. No wonder the restaurant industry has such trouble finding good employees when the owners behave like that.

The food was really bad on Saturday at lunchtime – and it wasn't even busy! The fries and grilled vegetables were almost cold, and the burgers were drowning in mayo or sauce… The service was very friendly, but the atmosphere was so-so. Dirt from the tables was just wiped onto the floor, leaving others with it on their shoes. The tables were crammed together, and almost half of them were reserved. We won't be back!

It was too loud for me. The lounge music was too loud. The buffet is plentiful; for around €20, everyone can find something, including various coffees, teas, juices, dessert, etc. Anyone who leaves hungry there only has themselves to blame :-) But it's always crowded and hectic in the mornings. I prefer it quieter. The staff is very friendly and helpful. However, when I asked them to turn the music down, I couldn't get hold of anyone.

On October 17th, we went to the Pfefferprinz in Oldenburg for brunch with seven people and a baby in a stroller. Our table was in a narrow spot right next to the play area – the space was extremely uncomfortable. The stroller was forced to stand in the way of the doorway to the restrooms. There was no room for all the trays (a table for six with seven people plus a baby). Another table, which was also free and had considerably more space, was simultaneously free the entire time (it had a reserved sign) and later occupied by three people, which was even more upsetting to us. The prepayment was inconvenient; there was a large crowd "like at a fair." Additionally, there were cashier errors that were subsequently corrected. We were all charged for the hot drink flat rate, even though not everyone needed it – not a nice feeling. It's a shame, because the service was friendly and helpful, and the food was good. It's sad that I read a similar review today! Apparently, nothing has been learned from such feedback.

It's truly incredibly delicious, and the atmosphere is very, very nice! The value for money is unbelievably good! I'd go back anytime :)

The breakfast selection is really great and extensive. Everything is fresh and beautifully prepared. We had our second date there, and the table was set really beautifully and sweetly.

Very nice restaurant. With lovely, friendly staff. They greeted me very politely. Very good advice on what to eat. Since the restaurant doesn't have a paper menu, you have to order your food digitally. It was my first time eating there. Whenever I'm in Oldenburg, Wechloy Famila Einkaufsland, it's always worth eating there. Because the food and drinks taste very good.

Really great food, they're there almost every lunch break. There's a huge selection, from schnitzel to chili con carne, everything's there. The breakfast buffet is always very good too. All in all, a really great place and a highlight 😁😁🌟🌟

We actually really like this place, and the food is always good. But this time we waited an hour for our food. A robot waiter is a nice gadget, but unfortunately, it's useless if it keeps going to the wrong tables and unnecessarily drags out all orders.

Nice and cozy atmosphere... the food is delicious... personal service is possible but also "digital", so that you can order from your table using a QR code and pay via PayPal... or the traditional way with the service staff... everyone has their own preferences!

The atmosphere of the shop is inviting, modern, and warm, which is why we stopped right there. Ordering via smartphone takes a bit of getting used to (although there seems to be an alternative). I would have preferred to be actively approached by the service. The reception seemed a bit detached. Service was very friendly overall, but unfortunately too slow that day (we waited almost 20 minutes after ordering for our coffee and ice cream). Unfortunately, we didn't like the coffee, so they left it standing. Perhaps there was something wrong with it that day. We'll have to wait and see if we try again.

Woke up early this Saturday morning at 7:20 a.m. Drive to Wechloy for the women's flea market, and before that, to the Pfefferprinz for breakfast. Fantastic!! It shows how you can create a fantastic breakfast buffet at a reasonable price. So many home-cooked and locally produced foods, it was fantastic. The best bakery rolls, lots of meat alternatives, vegan (homemade) spread! Homemade muesli ingredients like granola. Great, fresh homemade antipasti, plum crumble (still warm), and so much more (I couldn't identify any ready-made products, except for the jam, rolls and bread from the bakery, and the butter and Becel 😀). Even the plates, cups, glasses, and bowls were mostly unique. A great atmosphere in the restaurant, even though it was fully booked. All the staff were in a great mood, extremely friendly, and much more. All of this contributed to the great atmosphere and the good feeling of having breakfast here. I've rarely had such a breakfast in a restaurant. It would be a pleasure if you could maintain this level. Thank you for the excellent hospitality.

We were there for breakfast on Saturday. We had reserved a table for 4 adults, 2 toddlers, and 1 baby. It was nice that we were seated near the children's play area. It was a shame, however, that we were given a small table for 4. Two high chairs were placed in front of the table. This meant they were halfway in the aisle. People would always walk past them. However, there's a robot that brings guests to their tables. This robot didn't come through, which caused frustration for both the guests who weren't able to get to their tables and for us. The breakfast itself was good. The selection is sufficient. I like that, in addition to juice, they also offered various cold iced teas. Unfortunately, the scrambled eggs were cold. Otherwise, the atmosphere is actually quite nice. There are plenty of booths where four people can sit comfortably. At some tables, you sit on armchairs or a kind of bar stool.

I got a table without a reservation, lucky me. The noise level is very loud.

Great service, good prices, very good selection, even for vegans.

The food was good. The service was friendly. The negative, however, is the supposedly state-of-the-art ordering system. You stand at the entrance in front of a vending machine and have to hurriedly choose something. You can't do that at your table anymore. And you have to pay at the "service at the cash register." If you can't pay at your table, that's certainly not service. The supposedly modern conditions are getting worse and worse.

Potatoes undercooked and underseasoned, cheese only melted and not baked as described in the menu. The cruet sets for seasoning either had rusty lids or were completely dirty. A definite no-go. The only positive was that the server who brought the drinks was very nice. No menu, only ordering via QR code, no menus. Data protection says hello! Online payment via PayPal is not possible. Any cafeteria can do better. All in all, a very poor service for a meal costing around 13 euros. You feel ripped off. The staff only offer weak excuses. Despite the promise, the food was not removed from the bill until I specifically pointed it out. Once and never again! It's a shame when you can't handle criticism. Is the review supposed to be defamation? No, it's a realistic assessment from a chef with 30 years of professional experience! Set 6

We've become big Pfefferprinz fans, as we enjoy both their breakfast and lunch offerings. The chicken schnitzel and the Edelgockel burger, for example, are highly recommended. Reservations are essential for the breakfast buffet to ensure a table. Those who arrive early will, of course, have the full selection. The variety of dishes is fantastic and varied, with something for every taste. The only thing that could be improved is the cleanliness of the tables. Although they're always cleared, they're often still dirty. See you next time!

The food was very good and beautifully presented. However, the waitress was very unmotivated, forgot the cutlery, and didn't even bring napkins. Unfortunately, the service was not good.

We were there for breakfast. Friends had previously praised how great the breakfast (brunch) was. Due to other activities, we didn't make a reservation until 12 p.m. A mistake, as it turned out. In order: The rolls and bread were great, kudos to the bakery we chose. The sweet spread selection was good. The butter and cream cheese spread was plentiful and delicious. The savory spreads were unfortunately disappointing. The scrambled egg container was empty except for the obligatory, cold one, and was refilled very slowly (more than 15 minutes) upon request. So we ended up with a medium-soft-boiled egg, which was hard-boiled when opened at the table. Bacon, sausage, or any other savory items, which are now standard fare everywhere, were nowhere to be seen. The sausage spread area, etc., offered no selection other than poultry salami, as the onion-based minced meat, nicely presented in small Weck jars, was unfortunately very popular. A meat salad was offered, which was plentiful and delicious. The vegan section was well-stocked, perhaps it only seemed that way because hardly anyone ate any of it. At least I was able to snag a glass of smoked salmon (which was extremely salty). What was good was the salad bar, muesli bar, and sweet bar. There were grilled vegetables (cold). However, I don't go to such a price-conscious brunch for muesli and salad. What was totally confusing was that you could add a €5 drink flat rate for hot drinks at the beginning. The hot drinks and vending machines were at the end of the "buffet" and freely accessible. So, they could have done without it because there was no control. The highlight for my wife was the hot chocolate. However, they only used the cheapest mix mixed with hot water. Milk could have been used instead. The service staff were quick, but the kitchen probably should have been better staffed if the buffet was constantly empty. We'll gladly come back for the regular food, as it's consistently good, but certainly not for breakfast when there are much better alternatives nearby.

This restaurant has a weird system of food ordering which is not user friendly. When we had some doubts while ordering they could not answer properly. The service is poor.

The fries are so good, hopefully they stay that way... The chicken schnitzel wasn't good at all, with tendons. I actually come just to eat the best fries in town.

Mass processing in a pleasant atmosphere. A normal brunch there means €24 for 30 minutes of waiting in line for a subpar buffet. Everyone queues at the coffee machine, which spits out the cheapest coffee the discount store has to offer. Since there's no service, you end up having to clear the table yourself. NEVER again. UPDATE 7/18/25 The owner responded very kindly to my review and explained the unusual situation that day. We'll give the store another chance and report back.

We went there for breakfast. The breakfast was good, the buffet clean, and the rolls delicious. The coffee was also good. Unfortunately, the music was too loud. Accordingly, we had to speak louder. Overall, it was rather loud and uncomfortable, and unfortunately, we had to wait a long time at the buffet. Therefore, we won't be coming back.

We went there once for breakfast and once for lunch. The buffet was beautifully presented and everything was delicious. For lunch, we had schnitzel with fries and a great sauce. It was delicious. We'd love to come back. One star deducted for the children's high chairs. You can't strap the children in, and very small children have to be held tightly at all times to prevent them from falling out when they move around.

The menu offers a very good selection. I had a falafel burger and my son had a currywurst made from straw-fed pork. Both were delicious. We sat outside with Chili Lounge music. The ambiance is okay considering it's located next to a large shopping center.

The food surprised me; the quality was simply superb. As a diabetic, I have to be careful about a lot of things, but here everything was perfect. The play area for the little ones is also a big hit. I highly recommend the Pfefferprinz.

We've rarely eaten so well! Both the spaetzle with grandma's goulash and the chicken curry were outstanding! We'd love to come back!

We were looking forward to a good lunch! Then we were told they had to register using the QR code on their phone! I tried, but the app opened and was full of ads, and I couldn't get to the menu! We got up and left the restaurant! It's a shame; we used to love eating there!

We had the cheese spaghetti and the vegetarian chicken with paprika schnitzel. Both were truly delicious! We loved the mobile ordering option, and the food was brought to our table relatively quickly. The service staff was attentive and friendly.

Great restaurant and great service

Unfortunately, it's starting to decline somewhat, as the price is quite high. Perhaps it's just not our taste anymore. The wait staff wanders around the place with their bellies exposed, but it seems they're doing nothing other than assigning seats. We won't be coming back. It used to be the best breakfast in the area for us.

Breakfast was good and plentiful, with everything we needed. The reserved table was fine for us older guests, but the seating was so soft that you sink into the chair, making it difficult to eat. Firmer chairs and sofas would have been more comfortable to eat in. What we didn't like at all was the coffee. It was very thin, and the thin milk foam consisted only of water and wasn't at all creamy, like you'd expect from milk foam.

I've been there for breakfast several times and can highly recommend it. The selection is very large, with a wide range of baked goods, smoothies, various vegan products, fish, cheese, and sausage products, and many different hot drinks. I'm always very satisfied and will definitely go there again.

We had diner at this restaurant. You order by tablet which was not a problem for us. It allows you to customize your orders. Furthermore, service was great and quick! Great modern atmosphere. Food was amazing. You can choose from burgers, pasta and schnitzels.

The kitchen is very good. The straw pork goulash was great. The vegan spaghetti spaetzle is a real surprise and highly recommended. Burgers, fries, everything delicious. The entire family is happy and full. The homemade lemonade is fruity and not so sweet, really great. The service was friendly and quick. I've walked past it so many times but never been inside. That has to be changed. You can use the QR code to get an overview, order, pay directly and it doesn't take long until it's ready. The shop is modern, rustic and simply chic. Sufficient space for solo travelers. family or groups. The food is sufficiently portioned (and I like to eat a lot). You will definitely be full. I dared to try the fruity schnitzel: chicken schnitzel in coconut breading with mango sauce, with sweet potatoes and chili mayo... Mega 🥰 Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture... but take one yourself 😉 I can recommend it 👍🏽

Loud like a train station. Rather unsuitable for breakfast, little choice or simple quality. Price-performance doesn't fit here. People who like to eat a lot and like to eat fried potatoes for breakfast are in good hands here. Coffee was subpar, orange juice had to be paid extra. Too bad. We won't be coming back.

Unfortunately it gives a very bad rating because the restaurant doesn't seem to rely on customers. We wanted to eat something at 8 p.m. today, but were no longer served and sent away. Opening hours of 9 p.m. are stated everywhere in the barometer, on Google and on the homepage. So the service staff's statement that the warm food is only valid until 8 p.m. and that it would be on the internet is not true, especially since a table reservation is possible until 8:30 p.m.! (See photo) An early finish is more important than paying and satisfied customers! Let's see how long the restaurant will be around.

Good breakfast, but catastrophic organization – never again! The breakfast itself was completely okay in terms of taste - but everything else was an imposition. The organization was a complete mess, nothing went smoothly, and the staff was unfriendly and overwhelmed. There was an unpleasant atmosphere, no one felt responsible, and questions were answered with annoyance. Some guests even left early - and rightly so. This is how you scare away your customers. Really disappointing!

Today was probably the last time in the restaurant. We were very frequent and happy customers for a while. The service today was very unfriendly...the place was very dirty, something you wouldn't otherwise know. Unfortunately we didn't like the food at all. And we'd rather buy a children's fries for 6.99 euros at a Happy Metal opposite. The play area is also starting to leave a lot to be desired. Very unfortunate.

When we made the reservation we stated that we were coming to celebrate a birthday and the table even had a few birthday decorations on it. Very good value for money and a lot comes from the region. Good atmosphere and comfortable seating with couches and armchairs or normal chairs. You can order from your cell phone using a QR code and it will be served quickly. The food also tastes very good. On weekends there is a breakfast buffet at a fixed price. I like being there in the evenings when there's not so much going on. Then relaxed music plays and you have a nice environment to chat. The staff is also very nice. An unreserved recommendation from me :)

Great breakfast buffet. Price performance is completely okay. The only suggestion for improvement would be if there was a permanent scent dispenser in the toilet.

We were there for dinner in the evening. Selection and food takes a bit of getting used to. There is only light food and no hearty steak. I then ordered the schnitzel. This was so paper thin and more marinade than meat, very disappointing. With fries you paid 15 euros for just about 100 grams of meat.

We went for breakfast again in November. Although it's a bit down, as always it was a great breakfast buffet with a large selection of food and drinks. You can't try everything 😀 We also had a nice seat by the window, which always makes the stay special. The next table has already been reserved again to celebrate my birthday.

We were here for Sunday brunch and were generally satisfied. There were lots of healthy things, like Diershof yoghurt, fruit and vegetables and vegan alternatives. Chia and other “grains” were also available. All in all very nice, but also very crowded, which affected the waiting time. What I would optimize: Better quality coffee drinks and a “fresh egg” station. Otherwise very tasty...

Very tasty burgers, fries and schnitzel as well as a good roulade with a difference. If you're shopping here on a nice afternoon you can get a delicious meal here at a very reasonable price. However, it remains a shopping center and you don't necessarily lose that feeling in the restaurant. But good food and you'll be happy to come back for that.

Very friendly service which we experienced during our breakfast buffet. Nice and helpful service staff. The selection is very good and vegans and vegetarians are also catered for. What I was particularly pleased about is that there are also soft-boiled breakfast eggs here, which are rarely offered due to the additional costs for polluxing or pasteurizing. It would be nice if there were small milk jugs for tea drinkers, as the milk is offered in a large cooling jug to save waste and you don't want to have milk in your tea during the brewing time. The quality of the meat and fish on offer is very good, while the very hard and tasteless mozzarella almost begs you to go without. The homemade sauces and grilled vegetables are good. Overall, the positive aspects far outweigh the minor weak points.

The breakfast buffet on a Saturday at €18 is simply too expensive for what you get. The ingredients on offer are of really good quality, there's nothing wrong with that, but for the price I expect at least a little salmon, orange juice (only sweet iced tea is included in the price) and a larger selection of fruits. There were also no fried eggs and for the extra charge of €4.40 there was only filter coffee, not a fully automatic machine. All in all, this is equivalent to a normal breakfast in a mid-range 4-star hotel. But nothing more. €22.50 including coffee is simply too much money, especially since it's a self-service restaurant where you have to put your plates in a cart like in a fast food chain...

The restaurant is very modern and the staff is super nice. The food is an absolute pleasure... I don't know what could be done better here... very modern, delicious cuisine.

The food was totally ok for the price, but you might want to reconsider the presentation on the metal tray. Has some storage space for surgical cutlery. Overall, appropriate for the shopping center and an asset.

Four of us went to the Pfefferprinz for lunch today. Service very friendly and well maintained 👍. Ordering via cell phone or tablet... takes some getting used to. I'm more of a fan of paper cards 😉 We had 2x currywurst fries and 2x burger fries. Food was okay... but in my opinion the eye eats too, and that wasn't possible here. Carelessly served on a silver tray with no decorations, no real plates... a sheet of paper under the currywurst and fries. There's really room for improvement here! Homemade lemonades are very tasty.

You're surprised when you get there for the first time. Because you have to pay everything in advance. The store is very large and for a Saturday morning it was quite loud and very busy. The service was largely good, helpful and quick. However, they often couldn't give me any information about allergens. I would really like to see a larger vegan offering, with its own arena, maybe even soy-free.

great! I was invited there for a friend's birthday who reserved a table there. We took the breakfast buffet. Super great selection like in a chic hotel. There really wasn't anything missing. The staff was also very friendly and we sat at a nice table at the front left. We were able to talk in peace there. There were lots of homemade things on the buffet and it tasted excellent. However, you have to reserve early because it is always fully booked.

We really like being at the Pepper Prince. 😊 Both the breakfast buffet and the menu contain a large selection (including vegetarian dishes.) The staff is very nice!🤍 The facility is very comfortable, spacious and clean. You can order using a “tablet” at the table and pay either online (e.g. PayPal) or at the service desk. The food comes quite quickly and the ingredients always look and taste very fresh.😊
