The restaurant is very cozy. Everything is clean and tidy, including the toilets. The menu is quite clear but you can find classics of German cuisine as well as something unusual. The dishes are very tasty, sumptuous and elegantly prepared. Unfortunately the staff wasn't exactly friendly. Rough, the guest would be referred to as "the", and some drink orders were met with eye rolls (we're talking about a completely normal latte macchiato like it's on the menu without any special requests). Too bad If the service were friendlier, it would be an absolute tip.

We had dinner based on a recommendation. From the outside area, inconspicuous. The restaurant was rustic and cozy. We were greeted nicely, despite the fact that we didn't order, we were seated. I think it's better to book a table in advance. The food was super tasty. We didn't have to wait long, even though it was well attended. Thank you and keep it up.

We got a great seat without a reservation, upstairs near the bar. The dog wasn't a problem at all and was immediately offered water. Drinks came quickly and the food was delicious... the service girls were very nice, attentive and accommodating. We felt very comfortable and ate very well in a great atmosphere. Was on a business trip in Rathenow three weeks ago. Very tasty food, especially the side salad was not standard, lots of little things, including a cherry. Very nice! Service is typically Brandenburg - very friendly in the Brandenburg way! If I'm back in Rathenow, I'll come back any time.

We were in Rathenow for work and were hungry when we arrived. Looking for something special we found a wonderful restaurant. The decor was great and the details were really nice. The food was very tasty and the service was excellent. The staff was very friendly and always asked if we needed anything else. Even though all the tables were reserved, we were still able to sit down. The outdoor area was open, but a little too cool for us that day. The prices were also reasonable.

The food was very good and the portions were large. There is predominantly German cuisine. It was very hot when my friends and I were there and you could have sat inside, the temperatures were pleasant, but we decided to go outside because it was shady everywhere at lunchtime. There is a large tree on the terrace that not only provides shade but also keeps you cool.

As expected, everything was tip top again. I didn't finish my portion of schnitzel and asparagus, but the waitress was very accommodating and packed it up for me. The salad served with it was also a poem, not just like a lot of iceberg lettuce elsewhere. The dressing was also great. If you value good, high-quality food, you've come to the right place. Great offer on the menu, we would love to come back.

This restaurant impresses with its great atmosphere. Many antiques and the brickwork radiate cosiness. The food was delicious and the service was professional and very nice. A highlight in Rathenow and the surrounding area.

Very good food at top prices. We were traveling by boat and wanted to have a nice meal. We booked a table in advance, which is advisable as the restaurant is well attended, which in turn speaks for the quality. The atmosphere is very cozy and the service is top. We had the “servant’s plate”, the “fantasy of the noblewoman” and the “blacksmith’s pan”. The portions are absolutely sufficient and you can taste that it is freshly prepared. Overall, highly recommended and if we're here again, we'll be happy to come back. A little information for boaters, you can park very well at the old harbor.

A wonderfully rustic restaurant with fair prices, good service and tasty food. You should definitely sit "inside" - the atmosphere is very cozy and very close to an "old blacksmith's shop". A reservation is recommended.

We made reservations in advance. We were able to sit outside and have a great atmosphere inside and outside. Except for one lady on staff, everyone is very friendly. When ordering food you have to speak very clearly so as not to be surprised afterwards. The food was very tasty and everything here is very reasonably priced. The drinks weren't that expensive either. For a strawberry punch 5 euros.

As always, great food, short waiting time, great salad beforehand. The lighting conditions are very close to a blacksmith's shop, so don't forget glasses to read the menu. We always like to come back. This time we had steak/spiced meat.

The old blacksmith shop offers a charming ambience with a cozy beer garden, perfect for a meal with friends. The schnitzel with asparagus, croquettes and hollandaise sauce was delicious and complemented the meal perfectly. The pre-served salad was pleasant. The service was both quick and friendly, which made the visit even more enjoyable. Overall, a recommendable address for a sociable time.

It is a very nice and rustic restaurant. The staff were very friendly, despite the busy day of “buffet food”. There was a nice selection of dishes, as well as hot and cold dishes. Gladly again. :)

The place is in an old building not far from the cinema. The restaurant was designed to match the original use of the building. The rustic ambience is convincing. The food was excellent, both in appearance and taste. The service staff was always at hand. In summer there is a beautiful, vine-covered beer garden.

Die Rezension Ihrerseits kann ich leider nicht befürworten wir waren den besagten Abend auch anwesend und haben das ganze mitbekommen und waren über das Verhalten entsetzt das Servicepersonal muss ich da mal in Schutz nehmen denn die gute Frau ist erst laut geworden nachdem sie von 4 Personen ihres Tisches damit lautstark konfrontiert wurde also ich hätte mich bedrängt gefühlt und genauso gehandelt zumal noch gesagt wurde das jemand am liebsten die Gläser vom Tisch werfen wolle tut mir leid so ein Verhalten würde ich auch nicht dulden und ihnen sogar prompt ein Hausverbot erteilen das Servicepersonal ist stehts bemüht sich so gut es geht um alle Tische in dem Hause zu kümmern und wenn alle Tische besetzt sind dann hat man eben eine gewisse Zeit wo man wartet ganz normal denke ich. Also es gibt ein vegetarisches Gericht auf der Karte ich glaube Gnoochi mit tomate wäre das gewesen könnte man umschwenken als mehrfach sich zu beschweren und dann noch den Freund zum sprechen vorzuschicken aber gut ihre Ansichten wir haben das anders mitbekommen und wir empfehlen das Restaurant gerne weiter und werden das auch weiter hingehen einfach super weiter so gibt auch noch freundliche Gäste wenn nicht dann morgen man muss sich heutzutage nicht mehr alles gefallen lassen das steht fest man ist ja schließlich ein mensch wie jeder andere und kein stück Vieh.

Vielen Dank an das Serviceteam für die super nette Bedienung. Wir haben uns wieder sehr wohlgefühlt. Das Essen ist immer lecker und optisch ansprechend. Für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Schönes, gemütliches Ambiente!

Toller Ort, um gut zu essen. Von außen unscheinbar, von innen richtig urig. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Ich war heute zum ersten Mal in der alten Schmiede,sehr angenehmes Ambiente und tolles Essen.Die Speisekarte war sehr übersichtlich,das finde ich sehr gut,da findet jeder etwas ansprechendes heraus.Ich werde bestimmt bald wieder einmal hier einkehren.

Klare Weiterempfehlung ! Egal wann wir dort einkehren, es ist immer gut besucht. Trotzdem gibt es keine lange Wartezeiten und man wird freundlich bedient. Die Gerichte sind frisch und lecker. Hunde sind auch willkommen (ohne Nachfrage gab es einen Wassernapf). Wir kommen immer wieder gern zu euch.

Sehr gemütlich, sehr gutes Essen und sehr gute Bedienung. Hatte Knoblauch Suppe als Vorspeise und Schnitzel Bolognese als Hauptgericht, beides war Top!

wir waren am 27.10.23 zu Gast in der alten Schmiede,es sollte ein schöner Abend mit Freunden werden.Dann kam die Überraschung.Wir wurden förmlich Überfallen und fühlten uns bedrenkt als das Servicepersonal zu uns kam.Wir hatten noch nicht einmal die Garderobe abgelegt da stand schon ein Mitarbeiter am Tisch.Man reichte uns eine Speisekarte die sehr übersichtlich und einlaminiert war.Die erste Frage war haben sie schon Getränke gewählt,als wir das bejahten folgte auch promt die Liefearung der Getränke und die Frage was wir essen wollen.Unsere Bitte das wir erst die Karte ansehen möchten war erfüllt und keine 5 Minuten vergangen da war der Service wieder da und fragte ob wir uns nun was überlegt haben. Unsere wünsche wurden notiert und da ging se auch schon los.Bevor wir die Vorspeise auf hatten stand schon wider der Service an Tisch und brachte Salatteller die auch auf den Tisch gestellt wurden. wir waren noch beim Salat da stand schon wieder der Service am Tisch mit dem Hauptgang.Da folgte auch gleich die Frage ob wir den Salat noch essen wollen oder er schon abgeräumt werden kann.Natürlich wollten wir den Salat essen und da stellte man den Hauptgang auf den Tisch.Wir fühlten uns wie in einem Schnellrestaurant.Schnell essen und bald möglichst den Platz räumen um neue Gäste zu empfangen. Der Abend der so schön geplant war wurde zum Desaster und ruiniert.Wie werden bestimmt nicht wieder kommen. Gastfreundschaft geht auch anders,viel Glück weiter
