Sehr schönes Lokal im Stadtzentrum direkt vor der Kirche. Service top, sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Essen war lecker und vom Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis absolut im grünen Bereich

Das Essen war in Ordnung, aber der Preis ist für das Gebotene zu hoch.

Hatte einen perfekt gegartes und leckeres Steak Medium rare. Allerdings hätte ich dann für den Preis auch hochwertigere(am besten selbstgemachte) Pommes erwartet und keine dünnen Tiefkühl-Pommes. Die Getränke fand ich allerdings ehrlich gesagt etwas überteuert und für ein kleines Päckchen Mayonnaise oder Ketchup noch 70 Cent zu berechnen ist auch stark übertrieben. Ansonsten ist in Sachen Ambiente , Service und Geschmack vom Essen absolut nichts einzuwenden und sehr zu empfehlen.

Das Ambiente ist total urig und gemütlich. Der Hackbraten mit Pfeffersoße schmeckt unglaublich gut und ist sehr zart. Das Essen wurde auch ziemlich schnell zubereitet. Klare Empfehlung. Laut Schild am Eingang sind auch Wanderer gerne gesehen. Schade, dass wir selbst nur Touris waren, sonst würden wir dort häufiger Essen gehen.

Besser geht nicht. Das Essen ist absolut genial. Der Salat mit eigenem Dressing angemacht. Die Soßen selbst erstellt. Die Bedienung freundlich und nett. Das Ambiente wow. Wir sind im zweiten Jahr dort gewesen und es war perfekt. Und selbst der Preis ist spitze. Ich kann nur sagen, danke für den schönen Abend.

Absolutes Juwel. Hier gibts noch lecker Schnitzel wie früher und das im Umfeld der altehrwürdigen Abtei. Tipp: Das alkoholfreie Bitburger herb vom Fass! 🤩 Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Ein sehr gemütliches, geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Restaurant. Der Service war hervorragend. Das Essen gut, aber die Sauce zum Schnitzel ein Fertigprodukt, deshalb bei Essen 1 Punkt Abzug. Ansonsten kann man das Restaurant empfehlen. Reservieren kann nicht schaden.

Unser kleiner guterzogener Hund war verboten. Alternativen würden uns nicht genannt, so dass wir dort auch nicht mehr hingehen werden.

Wir bestellten Schnitzel und Hackbraten. Das Schnitzel war saftig und geschmackvoll, die Pommes waren super. Die Salatsoße war auch sehr lecker... Mein Hackbraten – oh mein Gott, der war einfach himmlisch! Ich hatte vorgeschlagen, die Soße separat zum Hackbraten zu servieren... Ich bin total begeistert!

Ein uriges, gemütliches und empfehlenswertes Restaurant im Zentrum von Prüm. Sehr gutes, gutbürgerliches Essen in toller Atmosphäre.

25km hier her gefahren um festzustellen, dass man hier Urlaub hat. Ist ja wirklich jedem gegönnt aber Google Maps sagt, dass hier offen ist. Wenn hier kein Inhaber hinterlegt wäre, hätte ich noch etwas Verständnis, wenn hier die Öffnungszeiten nicht gepflegt sind. Dies trifft hier jedoch nicht zu. Sehr ärgerlich ...

Das Ambiente ist sehr schön, die Auswahl ist gut. Das Essen war leider sehr salzig, besonders die Kartoffelsuppe und die Soßen. Dass ein Römerbraten salzig ist liegt natürlich in der Natur der Sache aber dann sollten die Beilagen weniger gesalzen sein. Außerdem sind die Getränke sehr teuer (Saftschorle 6€) und es gibt keine Getränkekarte, sodass man das erst mit der Rechnung erfährt. Eine Getränkekarte wäre also super. Der Beilagensalat war sehr lecker und der Service gut.

Sehr nett super Service leckeres Essen

Wir waren zwei Mal dort und waren sehr zufrieden. Das Essen ist super. Gut bürgerliche Küche mit Liebe zubereitet. Auch ist das Restaurant kinderfreundlich und bietet eine schöne Kinderkarte mit abwechslungsreichen Speisen an.

Wiederholungstäter - gute bürgerliche Küche, sehr netter Service, Blick auf Basilika - und wenige Fussminuten von der Dienstwohnung entfernt. Regelmäßig zu N/A Diensten dort.

Bedingungen waren sehr nett und auf zack. Die Speisekarte ist zwar sehr klein aber fein. Das Essen war sehr lecker und wir sind gut satt geworden.

Vorzügliches Essen in gehobener, aber trotzdem gemütlicher Atmosphäre. Man wird mit dem nötigen Respekt behandelt.

Ich war mit meiner Frau essen in dem Lokal Zur alten Abtei . In dem urigen Lokal haben wir zum Glück reserviert. Das Essen war sehr lecker, vor allem die Karotten Ingwer Suppe ist sehr zu empfehlen . Auch die Hauptspeise war sehr lecker. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und man wird zügig bedient. Absolute Empfehlung!

Ein wirklich schöner Ort, um etwas zu trinken!

Our group of 21 dined at the restaurant in Prüm today and were absolutely delighted. The food was excellent, everything was perfectly prepared, and the entire experience ran smoothly. We had planned to eat there because of the many positive reviews. Unfortunately, it only became clear at the entrance that dogs weren't allowed. This wasn't mentioned on the website. A real shame...

We had a lovely and relaxing evening at the Zur Alten Abtei restaurant. The food was exceptionally delicious, and the staff were very attentive and friendly. We particularly enjoyed the Kellerbier (cellar beer). The cozy atmosphere rounded off the evening perfectly – we'd love to come back!

During our vacation near Dingdorf, we stopped here for dinner based on the good reviews. We didn't have a reservation and had to wait for a table to become available, which wasn't a problem for us. When we finally sat down at a free table after about 20 minutes, an older gentleman standing by the beer bar very rudely informed us that no one was allowed to sit down without his invitation/direction. After the unfriendly remark, we would have preferred to get up and leave, but by that point, we had already placed our order. If that's how it's handled there, fine, but they could have communicated this to us much more politely. We each ate a veal schnitzel with fries. The portion size was okay for the price, but the taste was nothing special and the presentation was poor. Anyone with a bit of cooking skills could do a much better job. Next time we're in the area, we definitely know where not to go.

Absolutely recommendable! Incredibly great service, absolutely delicious food at fair prices, including a friendly and entertaining conversation with the senior manager! I should also mention that while there's a lot of criticism here about not allowing dogs in the restaurant, for dog-phobes like me, this also offers the chance to linger in peace and quiet without fear or panic!

A very cozy atmosphere! The interior is lovely, like being in an old-fashioned pub. The food is delicious; we had the schnitzel and the vegetarian tortellini. They also have huge 400ml glasses! The waitress with the nose piercing was very helpful in finding the viewpoint! It was about €17 per person, including drinks, fries, meat (schnitzel), and salad.

A very cozy restaurant. My turkey schnitzel was delicious, and my partner's cordon bleu was also very tasty. The cordon bleu portion could have been a bit larger. The homemade dressing that came with the salad for both dishes was also very tasty.

Went there yesterday for dinner, ordered a steak Bearnaise but apparently the chef had no idea how to prepare that sauce. It was a bland cream sauce. I pointed that out to the owner and the waitress but they did nothing at all. Also, the way my steak was cooked was not what I had asked for. Too bad, because it is a beautiful building.

Six of us went there after a hiking trip. We were given a table right away and, despite having vegetarian companions, had no trouble finding something tasty. The average price is €25 per person, which is a very good price. I highly recommend it.

While passing through, we decided to stop by the old abbey. It was just the right place. We didn't have a reservation, but we were lucky because a table just opened when we arrived. The service was super friendly and attentive. The food was simply delicious. 😋 We were so lucky that we chose this wonderful restaurant. Thanks again, it was delicious. We ate there on Sunday evening. Although all the tables were occupied, we were asked to wait a moment because a table would soon become available. We ordered cordon bleu. It came with fries and salad. You could also choose other side dishes, which were charged an extra €0.50. I completely understand that. The side salad was really good. Fresh mixed salad with a delicious salad dressing. The cordon bleu was veal and it was as tender as butter. The ham was a delight. The service was very friendly and attentive. I prefer service to come more often than to check on the customer too often. The chef himself served some of the time, and he was also polite, courteous, and very friendly. There, you feel appreciated and well looked after as a guest. We'll definitely be back soon.

Stopped in spontaneously for a meal, very cozy, rustic restaurant. We were given a really warm welcome and were allowed to freely choose our table. The menu is clear but as the saying goes, quality instead of quantity. And that is clearly the case here. The food was really VERY GOOD, from the starter salad to the main course. What I would particularly like to emphasize is the really friendly and friendly service. :) we felt very welcome here. Thank you very much

On the way from Luxembourg we made a stopover in Prüm. We went to the old abbey to eat, which we didn't regret👌 The food was super tasty and the service was very friendly. The atmosphere is super rustic and nicely decorated. All in all great, we would come back at any time.

First-class food and very friendly service. We ate with 4 people and paid €170. Not exactly a bargain but simply very good quality. At home I checked the bill again and was shocked. There were actually 6 small packets of mayo with it €4.20 charged. At 3 meals there were fries in the bowl for everyone and they were small enough for 3 grown adults, so a few fries were an afterthought. These were also charged at €3.50. In fact, that's what it says in the menu that I just saw online. But sorry, I have never in my life experienced having to pay extra for mayo or something similar, nor have I had to pay for fries in this context. So you don't have to be surprised if there are no more visits from us. It's about the principle and nothing else.

I just happened to stop here while passing through and was pleasantly surprised. The service is really incredibly good! Urgently had to go outside for an important phone call. In the meantime my food was kept warm, not only that but the plate was even easily refilled. This is something you rarely or never experience these days. Kudos to the great service!

We are currently on holiday in Prüm and had dinner in the restaurant “zur alten Abtei” for the second time today. It certainly won't be the last time either. So far we have had the salad with turkey breast strips, the cordon bleu (daily menu) and the beef ragout with pasta (daily menu) and all of the dishes were absolutely fantastic. The prices are more than fair, especially for the changing dishes from the daily menu. But there are two things that need to be highlighted here: - The ambience is simply great and you can tell how much attention is paid to details. Based on an old brewery, the concept is carried out consistently, including: There is a seating area inside a large beer barrel. - The service is really very friendly and attentive. What was particularly noticeable here was the child and family friendliness. There is a separate menu for children, but any other dish on the menu can also be ordered as a children's portion. As a farewell there is a pack of gummy bears. Here you feel comfortable as a family, but unfortunately that is not something that can be taken for granted these days. Without any ifs and buts, 5 stars and definitely a recommendation for anyone looking for a restaurant with good home-style cuisine!

The service was very friendly and quick. So I'm a little sorry to say that the rest wasn't that great. The ambience was mixed. Unfortunately you can hear every word from the table next to you and there is no music or anything like that. Unfortunately, the food was also rather disappointing. The turkey schnitzel didn't seem to be completely cooked through, even though the chef had apparently cut it as a test. Unfortunately, the breading wasn't really crispy and was a bit holey. But the fries were great. The game ragout was okay, but it seemed like the sauce had been diluted with chemicals. All in all, we wouldn't come back.
