CURRENT UPDATE: On several visits since July 2025, the restaurant was CLOSED without any posted opening hours. Since no one was there, we were unable to obtain any further information. We found this a real shame, as we used to value the restaurant very much. We had already given up on our former regular restaurant after the change of operator in spring 2025 due to the decline in quality and the enormous price increase. Examples (compared with the 2023 menu): St. Josef Schnitzel: from €15.90 to €23.40 Cordon Bleu "Hamster": from €15.90 to €23.90 Curry Pan "Jambalaya": from €16.90 to €24.90 In addition, the selection of dishes has become smaller, and popular dishes like the "Pfännchen" (small pans) are no longer on the menu. The food seemed less fresh and hand-crafted than before. The lack of a terrace, combined with the changed service, especially after the departure of a former employee, has negatively impacted the atmosphere for us and no longer meets our expectations. We regret this development, but have since found another location in Prüm (Brauhaus Biergarten) that better meets our expectations.

We were here today and the food was delicious, and the staff were all very friendly. Totally satisfied!

What a disgrace…..first impression, unsociable and no atmosphere but we had the dog with us so our choice of restaurants was limited. We got the menu and our drinks quite quickly but before they came to take our food order we had been waiting at least half an hour (and only because I asked if we could order) another hour later they came with our food, but unfortunately 1 dish was not the right one so another half hour later the dish came while the other had already finished his plate! The promised salad has yet to come but we didn't want to wait for it any longer. We were not the only table where it went wrong, it almost seemed like a slapstick. In the meantime two other tables (out of a total of five!) had already left prematurely in anger. The waitress also did nothing to give customers the feeling that they were appreciated, she became more grumpy by the minute. The food was okay but nothing special…..just a schnitzel, how difficult can it be. We then heard another couple complaining that there were new owners so the old reviews were for the previous owners.

The food was excellent—it tasted amazing. The St. Joseph's schnitzel was also a solid 10 out of 10. The service was first-class and very competent. I would be happy to come back anytime.

The restaurant was completely overwhelmed. After we had to wait an hour for drinks, the food arrived after another 40 minutes. Several dishes and side dishes were missing, and some of the food was raw. The owner was very friendly and also accommodated us with the price. However, the evening was over for us. We hope the team can adapt and turn the criticism into something positive.

Actually, 5 stars for the always excellent service. Unfortunately, we were horrified to discover that, with a new tenant, the quality of the food is apparently far from what the previous owners offered in Prüm for decades. Unfortunately, there's no comparison anymore. The ambiance has also suffered greatly.

Great on the outside... yucky on the inside... Unfortunately, the first time I tried I got a half-raw piece of chicken, and after it was returned I got an even rawer one the second time. The one opposite me had a loose slice of cheese on the tough schnitzel. To top it all off, the waitress, who was the only positive thing about the whole thing, wanted to charge me half the price for the inedible food even though it had practically not been touched. Apart from the nice demeanor, there really is NOTHING positive to report here. Unbelievable. Simply unbelievable. I'm 38 now and I've eaten not so well before, but I've NEVER sent anything back. And certainly not TWICE. You feel like you've been made a fool of.

Not comparable to the previous standard - new owners? Quantity not enough, very small side salad, burnt fries... and all of that is way too expensive for this poor quality. Will no longer eat at Wietshaus. Very unfortunate.

It's been a while since I've been here. There's a fresh breeze blowing through the kitchen, and it's noticeable in the dishes. The service was friendly and helpful, as it should be.

We've eaten here several times or taken food home. But unfortunately, today's food wasn't tasty and we were very, very disappointed. First of all, there was no seasoning, and even the schnitzel looked more like an egg pancake. I was particularly disappointed with your Cordon Bleu (also called Hamster). The Béarnaise sauce was like mixed mayonnaise with a few herbs. We've been eating at the Pauls family's for over 50 years.

We were there on Boxing Day and loved the food and ambience. The menu leaves nothing to be desired. There was also a large selection for our children. Everything tasted wonderful and the portions were large. Unfortunately, the restaurant was absolutely understaffed, which dampened the overall result. The staff did everything they could to accommodate all guests. But that was simply impossible. After the main course, after a long wait, we decided to pay. Nevertheless, the restaurant as a whole is highly recommended in terms of the quality and taste of the really great food! Hopefully we can find staff soon.

We were there for lunch with 16 people on Christmas 2024. The food was very tasty and the service was top, everyone was enthusiastic. Gladly again!!

We were in the inn with a larger group (35 people). Many of us didn't know the restaurant. We were warmly welcomed. Everyone liked it very much. The meal was excellent! Fresh, tasty and enough for everyone! The service was as usual, A1 with stars! We'll definitely be back!

We ordered two schnitzels that were neither good in quality nor in taste. To make matters worse, it wasn't worth the overpriced price either! There was no compensation for the bad food. Really absolutely not recommended!

We waited over 1.5 hours for our food, which was good. But that's really far too long... This long waiting time wasn't any fun because at some point you lost your appetite... It's a shame and bad management.

Excellent food with friendly and courteous staff. Varied vegetables, fresh meat and crispy fries, everything perfect to the point. Very satisfied, gladly again. You can expect an average of 25-30 euros per person, but you can't complain about the quality.

The inn makes a good impression, we liked the ambience. The menu is varied and mainly offers meat dishes. There is a fish dish and two vegetarian dishes. Overall, we enjoyed the food very much, honest home cooking in the best sense of the word. The prices are fair, and that also applies to the drinks. The service staff is very friendly, but occasionally seems slightly overworked. Overall, a good place to eat.

We had a fantastic meal with our three children, 15, 11 and 6 years old. Was a lovely, cozy and spotlessly clean restaurant. Staff also very friendly. This morning I asked at the reception of Eifelpark Kronenburger See Roompot where we could have a nice and cozy meal in the area and received this tip and we are very happy with it.

We called in advance and inquired about a table with a dog. No problem for dog owners (feel free to bring your dog with you). The food was of excellent quality and the service was very, very friendly and nice. Unfortunately we had to wait a bit at the beginning, even though it wasn't that full, which we thought was a bit of a shame. Otherwise great recommendation and big compliments to the kitchen. There is a lot on offer, which makes choosing difficult. Our recommendation regarding the drinks menu: the Württemberg Rose and the in-house beer, great. We were very satisfied and would come here again. We were able to park directly at the restaurant, which we also thought was great.

Unfortunately it's no longer what it used to be. The legendary Bernaise no longer exists. 😭😓😭 We always went there for this particularly good sauce! Unfortunately this is now out. The current one no longer tastes the same as all the years before.

We were traveling through with 3 small kids. The restaurant is very centrally located and has its own parking spaces. We were warmly welcomed. Children are also welcome (extra children's table with painting supplies). Everything is very modern and spacious. The employee was very attentive and friendly. And the food was fantastic. We had 5 different dishes and without exception they were very tasty. Absolute recommendation 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

We usually enjoyed eating there. Today, however, there was no service at all. After 15 minutes the menu was brought and drinks didn't want to be taken either. We were then allowed to order these, but they never arrived. We then left the restaurant. What a shame! There wasn't much going on, so that can explain the lack of service and the waiting times...

Even though they seemed short staffed, the wonderful fellow running it all literally did it all, (they did have a chef running out some plates) He sat us, took bar orders, food orders, along with at least 12 other tables and we had very little wait time, Service was excellent! The food was probably our best German meal and that was with stiff competition. (We both grew up with very German Omas who were excellent cooks). My husband had jagerschnitzel and spätzel, I ordered kraut and Nuremberg sausages (one of my favorites). We saw many other wonderful dishes being brought to other tables, maybe next time. Price was very reasonable and affordable.

We dined there with 2 people and a dog. I specifically mention the dog because there are also restaurants in the immediate vicinity that won't let you in if you have a dog with you. From our point of view, the dishes we ordered were great. We can only recommend the restaurant! The employees take care of you personally and unobtrusively. Class!

Getränke haben ewig gebraucht, essen kam nach Bestellung innerhalb von 10 Minuten, das kann nicht frisch sein, Cordon bleu sah auf allen Tische gleich aus. Diverse Gericht waren Basisgerichte mit Zwiebeln oder Pilzen aufgepeppt, Schade . Ambiente und Personal waren sehr freundlich.

Unfortunately, despite a reservation, there was no table set for us. There was food on the table, but we had no cutlery, no napkins until the end, and no chance of ordering drinks. It's a shame, service was very nice, but almost non-existent.

Op basis van de reviews hier gegeten. Het eten was goed maar had net iets meer verwacht. Groente/salade moest extra besteld worden. Er werd friet i.p.v. gebakken aardappelen geserveerd. Met knapperige gebakken aardappelen had ik een ster meer gegeven. De service is goed, er wordt snel geserveerd en men komt niet 6 x vragen " of alles ok is" Het Bitburger bier is zeker een aanrader. Resume: Verwacht iets minder of maak je wensen duidelijk. Dan moet het goed komen.

Der Klassiker des Hauses, das Cordon Bleu, und auch das Schnitzel Wiener Art waren sehr lecker, allerdings ist der Service ausbaufähig: Wir haben leider sehr lange auf die Getränke gewartet, die fast gleichzeitig mit dem Essen kamen. Außerdem kam das Essen zeitversetzt - das Schnitzel deutlich später als die Cordon Bleus. Das Personal war grundsätzlich freundlich und unser Hund war auch willkommen. Aber wenn man hinsichtlich des Service mehr auf Zack wäre, würde vielleicht auch das ein oder andere Getränk mehr getrunken.

Sehr gutes Essen, der Service ist noch ausbau fähig und wird ganz bestimmt noch besser. Kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Die Getränke kamen nach 40 Minuten, nachdem das Personal drauf aufmerksam gemacht wurde. Das Essen kann dann nach weiteren 30 Minuten. Das Personal war mäßig freundlich & sehr unaufmerksam. Die Gerichte waren alle lecker und die Portionen weitestgehend groß. Leider waren bei 2/4 Gerichten sehr wenig Pommes auf dem Teller, wobei bei den anderen beiden Gerichten „normal“ viele Pommes aufzufinden waren.

Wir sind Freitags abends unangemeldet mit 13 Personen erschienen, nachdem im Nachbarlokal meine Reservierung auf einmal nicht mehr anerkannt wurde. Die freundliche Inhaberin im Wirtshaus am Hahnplatz hat Tische gerückt und zusammengestellt. Das Ambiente des Lokals ist sehr gemütlich und das Essen war einfach hervorragend. Dieses Restaurant ist empfehlenswert.

Essen ist lecker und reichlich . Der Service ist Ausbau fähig. Ansonsten sehr gemütlich. Ist auf jeden Fall ein Besuch wert.

Eine spontane Eingebung und ein noch sponanerer Regenschauer brachte uns in diese gute Stube. Nett und modern eingerichtet, mit sauberen Toiletten und einem ruhigen Klientee, kann man sich direkt wohl fühlen. Die Dame im Service war sehr nett, zuvorkommend und trotz, dass sie allein war, zügig unterwegs und hat immer an alles gedacht. Diverse Extrawünsche waren kein Problem, das Essen war von guter Qualität und die Portionen waren mehr als ausreichend. Die Preise waren absolut okay! Alles in allem ist es ähnlich dem, was die Abtei früher einmal war, auch wenn die Speisen abweichend sind. Wenn wir mal wieder in der Gegend sind, werden wir sicher nochmal vorbei schauen.

Zum ersten Mal dort gewesen. Ich aß Cordon Bleu mit Pommes und Salat. Das Cordon Bleu ist wohl "berühmt", da es so knubbelig ist, diese besondere Form hat. Es wurde nicht an Käse gespart und auch nicht an gekochtem Schinken innen drin. Das war toll. Geschmeckt hat es ziemlich gut, aber ich kenne Restaurants, in Denen es mir besser geschmeckt hat. Irgendwie hätte es mehr Salz vertragen können, sowie die Pommes auch. Und das Fleisch war teilweise etwas kaulastig. Aber geschmeckt hat es gut. Parkplätze findet man ein Paar praktisch hinter dem Restaurant, die Straße rein, wo der Brunnen ist. Aber nur sehr begrenzt. Und man muss ein Parkticket ziehen, wenn man vor 18Uhr im Restaurant einkehrt. Wenn da groß gefeiert wird muss man überall nach Parkplätzen suchen oder sich am Besten hin bringen und wieder abholen lassen. Preis / Leistung fand ich gut. Für das Mahl und vier Colas unter 30€ ist völlig in Ordnung für mich. Service war freundlich und schnell.

War aufgrund der GLS in Prüm. Nachdem ich am ersten Abend zufrieden gegessen haben, und am zweiten Abend sehr enttäuscht wurde (nenne das Brauhaus, in dem ich war nicht 🤣🤣) bin ich aufgrund einer Empfehlung hier gelandet...Das Wirtshaus liegt genau gegenüber meines Hotels...erster Pluspunkt...die Begrüßung im Wirtshaus war überaus freundlich. Ich habe mich gefühlt, als wäre ich ein Stammgast...also erstmal ein Lsndbier bestellt. Das Bier war schonmal sehr lecker. Dann habe ich die Haxn bestellt und wurde prompt enttäuscht 😔...Die Haxn waren aus 😭. Also Bier ausgetrunken, und ohne zu bezahlen raus....Nein...Spaß bei Seite... Es ist absolut OK, wenn man etwas ausverkauft ist, besonders bei so einer Messe, und dann noch am 1.Mai Wochenende....also habe ich das Steak bestellt, und war froh, dass die Haxn ausverkauft war. Das Steak war butter zart, perfekt bedium, und mit den Schmorzwiebeln, den Pilze und der Sauce Bernaise absoluter lecker...Sollte ich nochmal in Prüm sein, werde ich wieder Gast im Wirtshaus am Hahnplatz sein.

Leckeres Essen und gut gezapftes Bier. Dazu eine super Wirtin die ihr Handwerk versteht !

Das Restaurant kann man echt nur empfehlen. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen auch unser kleiner Hund wurde herzlichst empfangen. Der Service war auf jeden Fall gut und das Essen war echt klasse. Ich werde auf jeden Fall wieder kommen

Bedienung/Chefin freundlich und aufmerksam. Suppe vorweg gut. Hauptgericht riesige Portion, Cordon Bleu sehr zart, gut gebraten, leider zuviel mit einem relativen geschmacklosen Käse gefüllt und oben auf dem Cordon bleu eine Hollondaise oder was immer das sein sollte. Passte nicht, Fleisch ist paniert und knusprig ausgebraten, warum also Sosse darüber? Außerdem schmeckte sie nicht besonders gut, gehe davon aus, dass es sich um eine Fertigsosse handelte. Speisekarte ist total old school, 70 oder 80 ziger Jahre, es gibt sogar noch Toast Hawai, schön!!!

Super nette Bedienung, kostenfreier Parkplatz am Haus, Hunde sind herzlichst willkommen. Eine recht große Karte, das Essen war sehr zu empfehlen.

Freundlicher Service , Hunde sind gern gesehene Gäste. Große Auswahl an Gerichten. Wir waren schon öfter zu Gast und es gab immer leckeres Essen.

Wir waren begeistert von unserem veganen Teller. Sehr lecker, kreativ und echt ideenreich. Das Rumsteak war auf den Punkt und ebenfalls sehr sehr gut. Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. 👍👍👍

Het is vol als binnen komen en kunnen nog vooraan op krukken en hoge tafel eten. Maar er komt al vlug plaats in de zaal. De keuken blijft open dus kunnen we na 14 uur nog eten. Schnitzels, sla en steak staat op het menu maar ook is er nog een dagschotel voor 9€. Het is van goede kwaliteit en de wijn is lekker. De bediening lijkt traag maar eens besteld gaat alles vlot.

Sind dort mit etwas größeren Erwartungen gelandet, da wir gute Bewertungen gelesen haben. Haben sich leider nicht bewahrheitet. Der gebackene Camembert war ein ordinärer Weichkäse, keinesfalls ein Camembert. Schade, vollkommen geschmacklos. Auch die angepriesenen Matjesheringe waren durchschnittlich. Es gab 3 halbe Filet mit 4 Pellkartoffeln sowie ein Esslöffel Apfel-Zwiebelgemisch. Da wird niemand satt. Die Bedienung anfangs freundlich, dann sichtlich überfordert. Als wir trotz allem doch Trinkgeld gaben, war sie sehr überschwänglich & gekünstelt. Nochmal muss ich da nicht hin!

Jammer hoor ook van andere bezoekers Dat drankjes te lang duren en er te vaak om gevraagd moet worden. Maar de keuken is heel betrouwbaar en snel. Geen culinaire hoogstandjes maar goede kwaliteit en dito porties. Uitschieters:Cordon Bleu Schweine Haxe En voor de liefhebbers Maatjes Haring. Kortom een prima adres in de Eifel.

ein Restaurant, in das man immer wieder gerne geht. Essen gibt es bis spät und der Service ist immer freundlich. Das Essen schmeckt immer hervorragend. Auch Anpassungen an Beilagen sind kein Problem. Das Restaurant ist modern eingerichtet, perfekt zum wohl fühlen.
