A truly wonderful place for special moments. A quaint, cozy restaurant with a selection of delicious dishes, from spare ribs to hamburgers. The location is fantastic, like a Western town; you can stay overnight in the motel, and at Christmas, everything is incredibly festive with stalls, mulled wine, and more. I'd love to come back again and again.

Well... I'm really sorry to have to give a negative review, I really hate doing that. But what was offered here as delicious spare ribs was just so sad... the slightly flat half-liter of cola certainly wasn't the kind I like, but some cheap cola. But the worst part was really the meat. If it had just been that poor little micro-pot of coleslaw, or the poor pre-made cold shish sauce in a tiny glass jar, or if the meat had simply been completely dry and not seasoned at all, that wouldn't have been so bad... but the meat really tasted quite old to me. Like pork from the supermarket that's past its expiration date, which is when pork gets that strange, unpleasant smell. And this strange smell and taste were actually INSIDE the meat. I only broke off a few bits and ate them, but I didn't dare try any more of it, and just ate the fries. I sent the whole thing back and told the otherwise very friendly server everything. I paid my €20 and left. The place is actually very cozy, but I have to say I haven't eaten or been served such disgusting meat in a long time. What a shame. And I'm not usually one to give negative reviews. But I just don't think it's right that if you run a restaurant and someone comes and pays for a nice meal, you then serve them meat that is clearly no longer fresh. I've been eating meat all my life, and I know a thing or two about the taste, smell, and freshness of meat, and this was clearly pork that was past its expiration date. It was also really, really dry.

Not every chef is equally good. We've been there several times before, but this was the last time. We had terrible luck with the food. Some of it was cold, and they forgot a few things. We ended up eating fries outside the restaurant. They were fresh, hot, and delicious.

Great atmosphere, beautifully decorated. Especially around Christmas time. However, the food was very disappointing. The burger patties tasted like they had freezer burn and were fried in old oil. I'm happy to pay a bit more for good food, but such poor quality is unacceptable. The staff was great, and the price would have been okay for good quality. I sent almost the entire burger back. Inedible! It used to be different. The food was really good. Those days are sadly over, and I feel like the quality is steadily declining. They haven't had beef steaks in ages. And they don't even use proper plates. You always run the risk of eating soggy paper. Despite that, the music is great, and the ambiance is nice too. But we won't be eating there again anytime soon.

A cozy atmosphere in an exceptional setting. The food is delicious and fits the restaurant's concept. The prices were fair, and the staff was friendly and attentive.

We spent the weekend at the Zündstoff Motel on Lake Edersee. The motel was completely decorated for Christmas and very lovely. The rooms were charming and functional. The staff were incredibly friendly. We'll be back.

The restaurant is unbearably cold in winter. The only free service is the Wi-Fi, and that didn't work in my room (12). I had a terrible rash right outside the door, and no one had an explanation or a solution. It's okay for one night, but I wouldn't recommend staying any longer. At least the staff was friendly.

After a visit with a youth group, we can only say: Super service (especially very fast), from ordering to serving the food took an average of 10 minutes (35 guests). The staff catered to all kinds of requests, and the owner, who was also there, even took a few minutes to speak with us. Thank you for the wonderful evening! 🤗

Since there were so many good reviews, we thought it would be a good idea to eat here. First, we were forgotten and waited 20 minutes, only to be met with the waitress's initial response: "Yeah, it's really busy right now, lots of people have come in." Then the order arrived... the food came before the drinks, again accompanied by the explanation, "Well, hot drinks have to be hot, right?" The food was really bad. The mac and cheese was lukewarm and just tasted like grease. The pulled pork burgers were 90% BBQ sauce, and you couldn't taste anything but the sauce. There was no trace of cheese or meat. A real shame.

A charming saloon with rustic decor and a distinctly American atmosphere. The service was absolutely top-notch, and the burgers with fries (served classically in a paper-lined container) were fresh and delicious. The decorations outside, which had been started a few weeks before Halloween (including a small maze), hinted at something big to come. We'd love to come back!

Yes, it's doable. The food quality is more like what you'd get at a fast-food joint. The spare ribs were only lukewarm and already partially cooked. The drinks arrived only after the food, even though we had ordered them beforehand. We weren't even asked again if we wanted anything else to drink. And this was despite the fact that there weren't many other guests.

I was really looking forward to the burger, which is usually great. Unfortunately, I hadn't been there for a year. There were four of us, and I raved about the burger. This time, it was awful. Only the patty was slightly lukewarm; the rest was cold. The burgers arrived before the drinks, which already made me suspicious. The bun wasn't toasted, the cheese wasn't melted but still ice-cold. The tomato was the same. The bacon was oily and soft instead of crispy. Everything was just thrown together carelessly. That was my last burger there. The service and the atmosphere, however, were top-notch as always.

Delicious burgers, cold drinks and live music at reasonable prices! The friendly service can sometimes be overwhelmed during peak season with good weather and hundreds of bikers.

The accommodations are a bit unusual, which is great. But unfortunately, the interior is very ordinary and too uncomfortable for my taste, which is why I always stay outside. But as a pure biker hangout, it's really cool.

A wonderful, special atmosphere – the western town is truly fantastic. The service was prompt and very friendly. We just wanted a quick drink – unfortunately, the cappuccino wasn't that tasty, so we didn't charge for it. Very accommodating – thank you for that. The Coke came in a stein – unfortunately, it was too warm and lacking carbonation, but that could, of course, be due to the tap system.

The atmosphere is truly fantastic. A town like the Wild West. We were there around Halloween, and it was beautifully and lovingly decorated. The staff wasn't very talkative, but they were attentive and delivered everything as ordered. Then, however, the burger arrived. It tasted like a warmed-up frozen pressed beef patty. I'm relatively tolerant and don't normally leave food alone, but this burger was inedible. My recommendation: Use good-quality meat and make the burger €4 more expensive. The price was very good, but it doesn't help if you cut corners.

We were there on Saturday evening and the food was very good, but it did get a bit chilly in the winter garden after a while; a rustic wood-burning oven would have been appropriate for the look and warmth.

This is our 9th visit to Zündstoff City, and it won't be the last. It's simply indescribably beautiful here. Every time we come, we find something new. This time, there's a new heater in the bathroom, and the shower curtain has been replaced with a glass wall. We love it.

Time and time again, it's our second home. When we arrive in the parking lot, we always say, "Home sweet home."

Very rustic themed restaurant, a motel in a saloon western town style. The food was delicious; I've never eaten spare ribs with so much meat before; they were almost as soft as pulled pork. The coleslaw salad was great. The onion rings were delicious and crunchy. It's currently specially decorated for Halloween. The kids loved it. The prices are good and the portions are large. Unfortunately, the Licher beer takes too long to arrive at the bar. The waiters are extremely friendly and attentive (unusual :-) ).

Unfortunately, we didn't get to try the food, even though everything on the menu sounded delicious. After asking twice and waiting for 20 minutes, we still didn't get served. We sat in the large annex near the inner courtyard. And the interior wasn't particularly busy either. We were there on a Friday for lunch, so maybe it's better in the evening.

Beautiful location. Small cottages for overnight stays and a Western-style restaurant. We only looked at it from the outside. The restaurant is not suitable for vegetarians.

Something completely different. A Wild West feeling. The food was delicious, and we didn't have to wait long. The staff was very friendly and the guys were fun. Restrooms were clean. Parking was free. Overnight stay possible - we didn't. We'd go back anytime for dinner. Prices were reasonable. Four people well fed and five drinks cost around €70.

The food isn't really to my taste!

I like coming for the live music and burgers, but I'm regularly annoyed by the service staff. I've known the place for decades and know that good, motivated staff is hard to find or even hire – but that doesn't make it any better. The staff is sometimes overwhelmed, annoyed, or "not responsible"... When the place is full, tables overflow with dirty dishes, glasses, and food scraps. Tables are smeared with ketchup, mayo, etc. Restrooms could be cleaner and smell the part.

Visually, it's a great place, decorated in a Western style. A popular destination for bikers. The food is really good, and the portions are generous. Since it's usually very busy, you have to wait a while to be served. But after ordering, it's pretty quick.

We went there after touring the Eder Dam for work. The food was good and plentiful. The place is beautifully quiet. Perfect for celebrations of any kind. 👍🏻

I was there one weekday evening. Everything was fine, but the food was unfortunately not impressive, from the look to the taste. I wouldn't go back. But overall, it's a nice place for a drink.

TOP! Great food, fantastic atmosphere, and very friendly service. We actually only planned to eat there once, but ended up eating there three times in three days. The burgers were delicious. We were there on October 3rd, and it was very busy. But the slightly longer wait for the food was worth it.

A real recommendation for anyone who likes country style. A meeting place for many bikers. Very good value for money.

The western town has a truly adventurous feel. However, the young waitresses are so listless that it makes for no further visits. Anyone who's no longer a young adult won't feel comfortable even with the music at this volume. It's a real shame.

If you want to enjoy delicious food, a beautiful setting and incredible service. This is the right place in the Wild West style. Admirations!

I love it. So what, the service ain't great, when crowded, and there's a here'n anna there'n, - I wouldna come s'often ifn I don't love it. That's all I wanna say. My kinda place in the heart of kraut country. And I don't even own a bike.

I've worked in the restaurant industry for 15 years and regularly go out to eat with my husband, but I've never experienced such unfriendly service. We arrived today around noon and sat down at a free table. An older couple joined us. When we wanted to order, the waitress told us the table was reserved. I replied that unfortunately there wasn't a note like there was on the other reserved tables when we arrived. She replied that the note had been stolen an hour ago and she didn't have time to write a new one, and rolled her eyes. She asked what we wanted to order. When we placed our drink orders, she said that the meal would take an hour and the drinks about 45 minutes. Also, it wasn't desirable for four people who weren't coming in a group to sit at the same table. Until then, she didn't write down our orders; my husband and I wanted to stay, and the couple decided to leave. She left me sitting there with my husband and just left. We called after her, but she didn't respond at all, even though she was taking the order from the next table, just two meters away. We'll definitely never see such a bad-tempered, arrogant waitress again. If you can't handle stress in the restaurant industry, maybe you should change jobs. We definitely won't be back and will under no circumstances recommend this restaurant to our family, friends, or business partners!

To be honest, Zündstoff is really only for a very specific clientele. If you want to eat something in peace, you can't eat inside. Unfortunately, it's not pleasant outside for non-smokers either. The majority of guests there are usually smokers. You won't find a spot outside where you won't be bothered by smokers. This is one reason why I rate Zündstoff so negatively. For people, guests, who don't mind that, I could imagine it being a pleasant place to visit. It's also a destination for bikers.

The ambiance is very good. The Western style is evident everywhere. The food selection is diverse. The "regular" fries are definitely generous. The service is very friendly and attentive. Plenty of seating inside and outside.

A two-part review. The ambiance, especially from the outside, both of the motel and the grounds with its many old carriages, etc., is very nicely done. The rooms are very functional, and the cleanliness is, at best, generously okay. The disgusting, sometimes moldy shower curtains are truly outdated. Aside from the thin sheets, there were no other mattress protectors, etc., under our mattresses. I don't think that's unimportant from a hygiene perspective—but never mind. However, I really don't understand the hype surrounding the diner. Yes, it all sounds great, but it's all very simple and not even tasty convenience food. When even the salad comes from a bag and the dressing from a bottle, that says a lot about the quality of the kitchen. The ribs were okay, but so smothered with (probably also convenience BBQ sauce) that you couldn't really taste the usual, desired grill flavor. The coleslaw on the plate wasn't even a tablespoon full, and it was also convenience food. So, for me, it has nothing to do with cooking or adding a personal touch. They prepare the food, nothing more, nothing less. So, the food here is definitely only for those with undemanding palates. The atmosphere was nice, though. The beer was sparkling cold.

We came for dinner with a large group (9 people) two months ago and were sadly very disappointed. We had to wait 90 minutes for our order! Even the drinks didn't arrive for 20 minutes. The waiters were completely overwhelmed and a bit rude when we asked an hour later when we'd get our food. When it finally arrived, it wasn't even tasty and wasn't warm. We were very disappointed and expected something different from the familiar Zündstoff. P.S.: It was quite busy that day, but by no means all the tables were occupied. Never again!!!

Very disappointing for us...it was packed on a Saturday, and they wanted to save the staff some work by ordering drinks directly at the bar. No chance, only with a table! When we were offered a table, they said...it wasn't ours, even though the people at the tables next door were also having their drinks. Unfriendly, inflexible, and simply a trendy place, with nothing to do with biker camaraderie or friendliness. Never again...👎🏻

Unfortunately, I can't say much about the food and drinks. They didn't want to serve us at the bar, nor at our table, and the staff were very unfriendly. I looked in vain for a helmet station. The place was described to us as a biker hangout, but we found it more like a tourist rip-off. Not recommended; we certainly won't be back.

Highly recommended for bikers. We spent a weekend there. Very beautiful area and the resort as well. Friendly staff and cool people. The rooms have everything you need. There's even a coffee maker in the rooms. The only criticism I can make about the room is that the cobwebs next to and underneath the beds should be removed. And the bathroom could be cleaned more thoroughly. There are brown stains on the sink and in the shower. Breakfast is okay for the price, nothing to complain about. The food in the restaurant is okay. The burgers aren't a highlight, but they're fine for a hungry person.

We stayed at Zündstoff for 5 days and booked one of the vacation apartments in the Valley, across from the Fireplace. The entire area is superbly laid out and very well-designed in the style of the Wild West. Everything looks great. However, the accommodation itself isn't so great inside. The furnishings are worn and not very well cleaned. The beds are very uncomfortable. The mattresses are sagging... the living room is unfortunately cold and damp... There are long waits in the restaurant... of many employees, only two are allowed to take orders and pay (for inside and outside), which is difficult when it's busy. The food itself arrives quickly, but is sometimes undercooked or cold. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio isn't good. However, our complaints (suggestions) were well received and noted upon departure.
