Wow, that was surprisingly great! Delicious and plentiful food, and they were very attentive to dietary restrictions. The service was very welcoming, and they even accommodated a last-minute reservation. The owner even took the time for a quick chat, despite the restaurant being full. A big thumbs up from us!

We received an incredibly rude welcome. We had reserved a table and arrived at 6:30 pm. Upon entering the restaurant, we were immediately met with aggressive stares from the owner (who spoke with an Eastern European accent). The owner sent a server to ask for our name. It then came to light that the table had been reserved for 5:30 pm. Okay, our mistake. We must have entered the wrong information; these things happen. We were then rudely informed that there was no room and we had to leave. No problem for us, it was our mistake after all. As we were leaving the restaurant, the owner shouted after us, asking if we were drunk! No, we weren't! It was simply a mistake of one hour. The staff also looked very unhappy; no wonder, with so much incompetence behind the bar.

The extremely unfriendly waitress (with an Eastern European accent) seriously asked us in front of all the other guests if we were drunk because I had misunderstood the time when making the reservation by phone (I had thought it was 6:30 pm instead of 5:30 pm). When I called, she initially took another call and then hung up. She was already annoyed on my second call; that should have been a warning sign not to go there.

As always, excellent food and great staff. We'll be back.

It was nice and tasty in itself, but when we were there in the evening there were a lot of mosquitoes flying around us and one or two of us got bitten.

We were just there to eat. We were shown out very rudely. When we asked for a different seat, we received only a disparaging remark: "Not here!" Unfortunately, absolutely not recommended.

We reserved a table for 6 people yesterday. Upon arriving at the restaurant, we were greeted outside and taken to a beer tent-style seating area....... All the tables and chairs were dark rattan-style, and we had to sit on two folding benches with a toddler, like at a summer festival..... No words. My fried fish was good, the fried potatoes recommended with the order were only lightly coated in paprika powder, if at all. My wife's and daughter's pork fillet tips were still partly raw, and the paprika-flavored vegetables (ratatouille) were prepared with Maggi Fix powder. According to the menu, you're supposed to ask the staff directly about possible additives and allergens in the dishes!?! Why not list them directly, like in any chip shop? I could have saved myself the severe allergic itching on my skin that followed. But further on: My two young daughters' Wiener schnitzel was thick, stringy, and kept getting thicker in the mouth. My little one stopped chewing after three bites. To finish, we ordered two lattes. The milk foam was about 1cm "high" and disappeared after serving. After the first sip, it was clear it was a thin, tasteless instant coffee... Impossible: Smoking guests... Wrong movie ???? Conclusion: Uncomfortable seating, terrible food (except for the fried fish), allergic reactions, unhappy children, heartburn, and €150 wasted. Thanks for NOTHING

There was a reservation error due to a lack of communication from the restaurant. The waitress reacted extremely rudely, so we left. I've never experienced anything like that in my life.

We got a table despite not having a reservation. The starter salad was delicious, and the cod fillet with mustard sauce was also very tasty. We can also recommend the fried fish without hesitation.

We called today at short notice and reserved a table for two people with a dog, and it worked out. The service was extremely friendly and the food was incredibly delicious. The halibut with mashed potatoes and the brewmaster steak from the "Nostalgie" category were absolutely delicious, with generously sized and nicely presented portions. The prices are absolutely fair. We felt very comfortable and would gladly come back.

You sit in a beautiful garden restaurant in Lauterbach's oldest inn. The food is excellent. There are great fish dishes and dishes from the GDR era. Everything is beautifully presented. I highly recommend it.

The menu is very varied. I ate fish there twice. It was simply superbly prepared and tasted fantastic. You should definitely try the mashed potatoes and mustard sauce. The whole meal starts with an excellent side salad. I've rarely eaten such good food and value for money. For me, this is the top recommendation in town. Make sure you make a reservation or get lucky at 5 p.m.

We had dinner at the Schwarzer Bären and would love to come back. Delicious home-cooked meals and a few classics from the Nostalgia era, such as solyanka, were on the menu. Everything was freshly prepared and delicious. We sat outside in the garden and brought our dog with us.

A 2-hour wait for food, forgotten meals, mixed-up drinks... The food is very mediocre. Whether it's fish or meat, fried potatoes are rubbery... Children wait forever, adults are served first... It's a shame, we had hoped for more.

The food is good to very good. We visited the restaurant twice and tried different dishes. The pork loin steak with onions and fried potatoes was excellent. The restaurant is busy, especially on weekends. It's best to make a reservation in advance. Unfortunately, it lacks a bit of a cozy atmosphere. There's still room for improvement. The service was very polite and prompt. A definite recommendation, as the food here is clearly still cooked from scratch!

We've been coming here for years, and this time we were disappointed and won't be returning. The cod was great, as always, but the pollock was truly disappointing! Clearly frozen; both fish were supposed to be beer batter, but the differences were stark. My husband thought schnitzel had been made in the deep fryer beforehand. When speaking to the waitress/owner, she said the quality was always consistent; unfortunately, we didn't have any photos to prove it on our phones. A real shame!

I wanted to eat here. I was looking forward to the halibut, fried in egg, that I had seen on the plate by the door that afternoon. At 6 p.m. I approached the restaurant, there was a woman smoking outside, just in front of the entrance. I thought it was a guest. When I wanted to pass she actually shouted in my ear: 'hello'!! And I'm surprised: oh I thought you were a guest standing outside smoking. Yes, well, she said. I would like to eat here, I said. “We don't have room for anyone alone.” That's what she said. I was perplexed. Really, I thought I didn't hear it right. I turned around and left. I have never experienced something so rude. Too sad for words.
