Very good food and very friendly service

There were six of us eating schnitzel there. The selection is huge, with some great options. The food was also very tasty, but unfortunately, there weren't quite enough side dishes. We were all still a bit hungry afterward, but we were all very satisfied with the quality. Our server only spoke when necessary, but was friendly. The atmosphere is nice, and the owner is very welcoming. Our children also felt comfortable.

Sorry, but I can only partially agree with the good reviews. I had a cordon bleu with fried potatoes. The latter were soggy and dripping with grease, and the cordon bleu was similar, but quite tasty. The owner and the waitress were very warm and friendly, though, so I'm all the more sorry to be able to give it a less-than-stellar review. We'd be happy to come back for another try.

This wasn't our first time here. Reviews are always subjective. I can't give it 5 stars, as in my experience, expectations and demands are constantly rising. In any case, I can recommend the allotment garden.

Beautiful facility, very well maintained and delicious food, generous portions

We've been coming here for three years now. The allotment garden is a great choice. It has a wide selection of food, excellent service and quality, good prices, and you can always get a seat. Ideal for birthdays, weddings, or just enjoying a cozy beer and the afternoon.

A short bike ride brought us here, and we were looking forward to some Chinese food. There's no soup on the menu, but the friendly Chinese employee explained to us in good German that we could have Peking soup. The small bowl of soup was delicious, as were the other dishes. When we asked the owner, he unfortunately didn't have any extra soy sauce, as it's included in the food... Unfortunately, we made a mistake ordering the soup, which was reflected in the bill – we hadn't asked for the price, and we were charged a hefty €8.50 each, despite the otherwise reasonable prices. It's a shame; it doesn't leave a good impression.

We only sat in the very large outdoor area, so I have no idea what it looks like inside. It's just a clubhouse for the allotment gardeners... I had Chinese duck with noodles and was very satisfied. The duck was nice and crispy - much better than anything I've had at Asian restaurants before. The couple who run it are super nice and on the ball! We didn't have to wait for drinks and we waited about 10 minutes for the food - great! Card payments accepted!!! By the way, I found it thanks to the "coupon booklet" - otherwise you wouldn't even think of eating there - and of course, now through word of mouth... please spread the word! A simple club restaurant with excellent schnitzel, Asian-style duck, and many other delicious dishes. Various theme nights at very reasonable prices. Always a pleasure to come back!

A very pleasant atmosphere in the middle of allotment gardens with a large playground. Schnitzel, cordon bleu, and rump steak lovers are guaranteed to find something on the extensive and varied menu. The taste, for me, is a hit with the very, very tasty fried potatoes, actually a must for anyone who loves schnitzel. The Palatinate restaurant from Essingen is run by a former Palatinate restaurant owner from Bad-Bergzabern, as we discovered during a pleasant conversation with the proprietor. Highly recommended.

There is Chinese and German cuisine in the allotment garden. What seems a bit strange at first glance is authentic when you get to know the friendly tenants. The Chinese cuisine is in no way inferior to the typical Asian restaurants. The German cuisine is what you would expect from an allotment restaurant and a little bit more. There is also a theme on several evenings (Chinese buffet, schnitzel evening, steak evening, etc.) where the already good prices are a little cheaper. The portions are large enough, the food is tasty and well seasoned. In summer you can sit on a large terrace. Addendum: I was there again. Unfortunately, the great impression from the last visit could not be repeated. This time I had a schnitzel with fried egg and fried potatoes. Everything was extremely fatty, while the fried potatoes lacked roasted flavors, the fried eggs and schnitzel had too much. The side salad was mostly iceberg lettuce with a soy sauce dressing. This time I would give 3 points, with an average of 4.

The chaffin, a Chinese woman, speaks German well and the menu is so extensive that it is difficult to choose. The atmosphere in the restaurant is 70's. In summer there is an additional highlight with a beer garden and a large children's playground. Gladly again. We arrived as guests and left as friends.

For an allotment garden, the atmosphere was really nice, with rust-checkered tables and I've never eaten such a good cordon bleu. I was skeptical about the large selection of different Cordon Bleus and was all the more pleasantly surprised at the good quality. I'll come back on my next vacation.

Here you will not only find schnitzel in all variations, but also Chinese dishes. The ambience is beautifully located in an allotment garden colony. Here you can simply unwind with delicious food and good entertainment.

Unfortunately we waited forever for our food... At lunchtime at 2 p.m. we were the only guests. We had fries, which weren't anything special, a tarte flambée (hardly any toppings) and a rice beef dish. The fries for the children arrived after 20 minutes, the tarte flambée for the woman after 25 minutes. The rice dish came when everything else was eaten... after 45 minutes!! So now I sat alone eating. The landlord forgot to turn on the rice cooker! We still had to pay the full price of just under 30 euros. We'll never go there again. Real canteen food! Find something better to eat.

We were there with 4 people, unfortunately we were the only guests, each of us had a different dish and each of us was more than thrilled... The Cordon Bleu was, for me, the best thing I've ever eaten, schnitzel ,Rump steak, everything was fried to perfection, the only mango was the salad, which can definitely be improved. Vollkommenes Chaos . Zur Entschuldigung merke ich an das es der Eröffnungstag war. Lieblos war der Salat angerichtet, warmer Wein und unflexibel der Wirt. Wir wollten alles ohne Brötchen. War nicht möglich. Zur Eröffnung laute Musik aber keine Deko. Blanke wackelnde Tische. Nicht einladend. Beim bezahlen mussten wir 4 Personen in A und B aufgeteilt werden 🙈. So schnell oder gar nicht mehr werden wir den Schrebergarten besuchen.

Super nette und herzliche Besitzer, alles selbst gemacht und sehr lecker. Sehr kinderfreundlich mit Spielplatz vor der Tür. Wir haben hier bisher die besten Spareribs gegessen. Alleine deshalb lohnt sich schon ein Halt.

Leider nur 3 Sterne, da die Soßen scharf waren, keine Garnierung auf dem Teller war und die Portionen etwas klein waren.

Manchmal wundert man sich etwas über den "rustikalen Charme" bei der Begrüßung. Wenn man sich aber erst Mal daran gewöhnt hat, kann man hier ganz vorzüglich essen. Dazu eine schöne Lage direkt am Spielplatz, wo die Kinder Auslauf genießen können und trotzdem in Sichtweite bleiben. Essen war bisher immer gut, wir wurden nie enttäuscht. Da verzeiht man es auch, wenn es bei größerer Auslastung Mal etwas länger dauert.
